First time I ever went I got the shrimp tempura roll, and it made me fall in love with sushi (eel sauce specifically). But I got the chicken teriyaki salad since everyone was hyping it up, and while it's a great portion and definitely wasn't bad, it is not as great as everyone claims. Did takeout from here 2 weekends ago. We have eaten from here before and I remember it being good, but that was years ago. We got pieces, montauk fluke for an app as well as shumai, california roll, yellowtail scallion roll, spicy california roll, and the tuna sandwich (basically just a triangular roll). Everything was actually very good all of the fish was very fresh and delicious. I enjoyed everything except for the spicy california roll. Most definitely do not order this, because of the way they prepared this it ruined the taste of the freshness and just made it taste super fishy. Prices are high here but too be expected...sushi in the hamptons. I will say though compared to sen and some other sushi out east this is definitely a better option. I have never eaten in the restaurant but if you plan to I would make a reservation as it was pretty crowded and there is limited seating. As far as the service goes my food was ready as soon as I arrived to pick it up and I left within 2 minutes, extremely quick and easy. Overall a pretty positive experience! Same with the sushi sandwiches. Salad was good but could've used a little more flavor in the chicken (just ask for extra dressing or sauce) and the chicken Karage was actually great. The evening started out lovely with the host graciously making a table for our party of 6. We arrived early (5:45pm) as we had 3 kids in our party. The restaurant was mildly empty. We frequent this restaurant often for years ad my family loves it. We ordered our drinks and food and then the problems began. The food took forever and then was not even the correct items when they came out. The server, who also seemed to be the manager on duty, then started to argue with me that it was my fault in the wrong items being ordered despite me describing the exact item I wanted ("beef on a stick"). These beef skewers were for my kids. Very annoyed, he took the wrong items away and told me it would "take awhile" for the change. After that, our copious amounts of sushi came out yet the simple miso soup and gyoza were completely forgotten. I have to ask twice for these to be brought out. I assume that since they were starting to get busy, they just completely forgot to fire these basic items. After receiving most of our meal after a lengthy delay, I requested to order more food as my kids were still hungry. He got very frustrated with me and informed me that "you cannot order more food because we have people waiting for a table." First, we were there longer than we wanted as the service was very slow and items were wrong. Second, what restaurant doesn't allow sitting customers to order more food. We wanted to order more sushi and beef which would have only added to our already high bill. After being told "no more food" my kids then proceeded to get so upset as they were still hungry. I was in fact also very hungry still as my meal went to serving the rest of the table whose food was delayed. Long story longer, he then allowed us two more beef skewers (tiny little items) before we decided to just leave hungry as my kids were now clearly upset, one having already left the restaurant crying. I will generously note that the food we did receive was very good. The flavor and quality was great. But I have never been treated so rudely by a wait staff in my life and never told no more food at a restaurant when I am a paying customer and it's their job to provide food. In the end, my utter disappointment in how my family was so disrespectfully treated will leave me with a very sour opinion on every returning. read more

I am not sure why there are some recent negative reviews. I have been coming here for years and have only had positive experiences. The Tuna Sandwich draws me back every time. It is really amazing. Don't waste your time! It's almost impossible to get thru by phone but Sunday night we did. We had been trying for weeks we were so excited. We have gotten take out and eat in many times before COVID and it was always excellent. Monday's food was a DISGRACE. The lettuce for the Chicken Teriyaki Salad was wilted and brown, the bean sprouts were rotten. The Yakisoba noodles were dried out, no sauce, and partially burnt. The shrimp tempura roll looked like something from the grocery store and the shrimp tasted bad. Then the Suki Zuki Roll had browned avocado and was so small with so little rice wrapped around you could clearly see the seaweed wrapper. I realize times are tough right now but this was gross. So, this used to be my favorite Japanese restaurant on the East End. This was my first dinner since Covid, and we had takeout on a July evening, at 7:00. There were 4 tables occupied, and 2 at the bar. First of all, tips are now mandatory, even for takeout (10%), which was not pointed out. Even though there were only 4 tables taken, it still seems busy and chaotic. The food was cold when we got it home (less than a mile, and I was exactly on time) , the cold shumai was out of the freezer, sushi was sloppily made, hijiki was cold and mush, my favorite Black Cod was good(though had nothing with it) was cold , too. While the sushi may be good, it's a crap shoot on weather or not your order is correct. They make it painful to place an order and give you the pleasure of the wrong food. This quaint little hole in the wall greats you with a well stocked full bar upon entry (a good thing in my book :). The sushi bar seating is a bit uninviting as it awkwardly towers over the diners that are supposed to sit in front of it (no one chose to while we were there). A unique feature of this restaurant, not commonly found in other japanese restaurants, is the robata yaki grill featuring a menu of small skewers cooked to order over a live gas fire. The service was friendly. The robata skewers that I ordered were tiny and decent tasting but a bit ordinary on the palate. They sounded a lot better than they were. As for the sushi, definitely on the expensive side ($8 spicy tuna roll). The sushi pieces were also pricey and compounded by being puny. Hell, this is the Hamptons though. All in all, the fish quality was pretty good (which is a big deal to me) and the options out here are slim. They definitely fill a void this far out on the island. If you're out here and hungry for some soosh, check it out. read more

2.15 stars --- 3.74 if you are a masochist Tiny place with too many people stuffed in. Very small sushi rolls. Unfriendly staff who make everyone feel like a burdon. This place used to be kind of cool. And it's still great if you're looking to pick up a barfly cougar, or study the degredation of the urban, financially self-indulgent mother / mis/non-behaved, overnannied child relationship. And the ingredients Suki Zuki uses in their sushi and other dishes are of high quality. But, while they changed their prices only meagerly when compared with the rest of the hampton restauranteer population, they drastically reduced portion sizes. I'm talking TINY rolls, a small person could fit 3 whole rolls in one hand. They didnt even add rice on the outside of the roll to make it SEEM bigger. I'm not exaggerating when I say that a regular roll (like a california or cucumber or tuna or whatever) is about one big mouthful. Go for a spider roll or a chicken teriyaki salad. The place is way too small too, I think they have too many tables in there, and too many chairs around each table. Everyone is bumping into eachother. The staff literally hates you. I never ask for anything special, never send anything back, and never waste anyone's time. I always smile and say please and thank you. The waitresses consistently still take forever (i talking 45 minutes) to come and take an order. and then act like you are doing something vilely inappropriate, and grimace while they take your order. First of all, the moment I walked in the smell of an old folks home hit me. That can't be good in a sushi place. You all know me, I love finding little gems and hole in the wall places. But man, I could barely stand the smell in there. I went ahead and tried the food, just so I could get at least somewhat of a profile for this place. But let's talk about the staff for a second. Another thing I'm big on is customer service. I've worked years as a server, a host, a cashier... I walked in and there was a staff of 5 grouped together and they just stared at me. I asked if I sit anywhere and they just replied that yes I could sit anywhere. I felt like I had "loser" or something written on my face. so I made my way to the bar. That was about as equally welcoming as the other 5 people that worked there. Mind you there were only two tables of two in there and a girl sitting at the bar. There are times back in LA, yeah the food wasn't so great, but the staff were warm and personable and I always returned. As for the food, you know what? To be completely honest, the smell of the place was all I could think of. I've shopped at fish markets in the Philippines where I would rather gladly take that smell then this musty old elderly person smell as I'm trying to eat my sushi. I rarely give bad reviews, but for a place that where the season is about to begin and not being busy...their customer service sucked, you would think that someone would have at least tried harder.
