CONCLUSION:: outdoor patio is a fun place to sit for happy hour and enjoy the band, a drink and an app BUT I would avoid the restaurant if you are looking for a great seafood meal. . PROS: the staff is very friendly, the ambiance is good, the place is clean. . CONS: the food was average at best with my wife's tilapia being only decent (overly seasoned) but my grilled trout was terrible (overcooked and very fishy). The side dishes were a mixed bag as well from the boring salad to bland dill potatoes to decent grilled zucchini. The pricing ranges from the higher side of average for many things to significantly higher. This would be ok if you got value for it, but the mediocre quality makes it a poor choice. . NOTES: The patio is fun when live music is playing and has a window to the bar, but gets blasted with sun in the late afternoon. read more

I am not a fan of chains; however, Shuck Me has surprised me. It is a great location with awesome outdoor seating. They have a stage, but I have not heard music yet. I usually get oysters there on the half-shell and fried and both are great. My daughter usually gets a kid's burger. The kid's meal comes in a cardboard ship and the size of the burger is huge for a kid. I love their fries. I enjoy playing corn hole there. I think it is a great addition to Denton. read more

Our go-to is the oyster nachos (not your typical nachos). Highly recommend. If you're looking for good crawfish this is NOT the place. They serve the most unseasoned crawfish I ever had in my life. They have zero flavor, they just throw seasoning on the outside of them. Popped in on a random Tuesday to see what kind of happy hour they had. Draft beers were $3 until 6pm so we grabbed a couple along with an order of Lobstershuckpuppies (I think that was what they were called!) Hush Puppies with some lobster mixed in- I'm a big fan of hush puppies so thought they were Yummy. We sat out in the front patio just to check it out. We then moved into the bar and ordered some more snacks- Diablos, gumbo, chowder & a side salad. Everything was good- the chowder was Delicious! Went here for my birthday lunch large menu tons of seating plenty to choose from and find something for everyone. I had a po boy was so much food!! Still stuffed hours later. We just tried this place for the first time today. The weather was nice & we were looking for a nice patio to hangout on & wow did we find just that!! Their patio is awesome. Big, lots of space, shady and non shaded options, cornhole, tvs, a stage!! Perfect patio to post up on a warm weather dag. And the food was delicious!! We got the Buffalo wings, ceviche, fries pickles and fish and chips! All were great. And they have great happy hour drink deals. Will definitely be back!!! read more

We just had dinner here again and the food and service was excellent. I had the jumbo shrimp, my husband had the frog legs, and our friend had the shrimp and clam chowder in the bread bowl and it was ALL very delicious. We all said the same thing about our meals, that we would be ordering it again. The place is very attractive with inside and outside seating. There's a bar on the inside and one that you have access to if dining outside. I rated this 5 stars because it met all the requirements that mean a lot to me. Everything was very nice and clean and there was someone close by to pick up your dishes very often. Everything looked nice and appealing but I was a bit disappointed. Well, first, let me say, the margarita mix was pretty good. The catfish wasn't bad. It came with fries and hushpuppies. Now the shrimp & grits, not so good. It looked beautiful. It had lots of nice size shrimp on top and also hushpuppies. The grits were kinda thin and gritty. They didn't have that southern country smoothness to them. Seemed like the fake open the package and add water type of grits in my opinion. My friend didn't care for the shrimp & grits neither. Oh and if you don't eat pork, beware, the shrimp & grits have cut up pieces of sausage all thru it, but it doesn't say that on the menu. The dish had more meat then grits and the grits weren't substantial enough to backup all the meat. Wasn't a good balance. The place gets lots of reviews but I guess you have to try it for yourself. My first trip - The Oysters on the half shell were good but very small. The fried shrimp were also small, they were butterflied then flattened almost paper thin. The cornmeal batter was heavy so it was the only thing you could taste. The hush puppies could have been cooked more and maybe served hot. Overall, really marginal for the price. read more

I know it's New, but decided to give them a try on Friday evening. Let me start by saying I'm not a fan of pay at the counter system- it's slow and when you want another round, your in line with one dude at the register! I had the Fried Grouper Poorboy, it was a great choice, cooked perfectly. It reminded me of Grouper sandwiches I've eaten in Florida. I would give it a 10! My wife had the Fried Shrimp and they were awesome, and large with a great breading. Condiments are plentiful at the get it yourself center. The One man and a Guitar was a nice addition.
