Solid food, professional service, and a comfortable room. No standout friction, no fireworks either. Nice neighborhood spot, would go back. Made a reservation for dinner with friends, though we probably would have been fine walking in. The place filled up fast after we sat down, so the reservation gave us peace of mind either way. Got the chicken marsala. Chicken was tender, well cooked, no complaints. We split the kale salad and the kitchen plated it on two dishes without us asking, which was a nice touch. Finished with key lime pie. Good way to end the meal. The dining room is bigger than you would expect to stay quiet, but it does. We held a normal conversation the whole time without anyone raising their voice. Worth knowing if you want to actually talk to the people you came with. Service was professional and friendly. Team approach, not one server hovering. Nobody overdid the small talk, but we were checked on when we needed it. Menu has range, so it works for a group with different preferences. I will start out by saying that this place was highly recommended to us, so when we came we had high expectations. To start, the dinner rolls were just bland and the butter was unsalted and had some water in the container it came in. My husband got the ribeye and I got the salmon. His steak was lacking any flavor or color at all. That char that you want with a fatty ribeye was nonexistent. My salmon had a strong fish smell to it, despite that I did take a few bites. It had a taste that was very off-putting and it was not cooked well. My dish had the mixed vegetables which were just a couple green beans, a carrot and a slice of bell pepper. We both thought the mashed potatoes were okay. To the positives; the servers were nice and the restrooms were very clean. We won't be back - unfortunately the food is far from worth the cost. read more

Eight of us had dinner here while staying at the Broadmoor. I had the lobster and shrimp ravioli with extra shrimp and it was delicious. It didn't need the extra shrimp and frankly, they were a bit overcooked. I also shared the escargot with Hubs and that's always a treat. Their rolls are yummy too. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. My MIL said the lobster bites were amazing. I tried several desserts but didn't love any of them. I might have been too full! Favorites at the table were the key lime and red velvet. I was partial to the carrot cake, but I'm more of a chocolate person and no one ordered that! We were I a room by ourselves, which was nice, but had no music piped in. That would have been welcomed. Service was attentive - maybe overly so. I also felt like he really wanted to upsell us. We had a very nice brunch here yesterday! It's a lovely place- it was our first time at this Bistro location and it was a week after they started breakfast/brunch service. It was cool seeing former servers from the original Marigold here- they said they love working at this new location. We were struck by the camaraderie among the staff and also among the staff and guests- we must have seen 30 hugs during our time there- it was sweet. I believe our server was Riley but we had several people visit our table to help. Riley was warm and friendly. We had to ask for cream and sugar for the coffee from three different people before they remembered to bring it, and there were no spoons with the silverware to help stir the coffee. Otherwise service was very good. The menu is great and I love the option of adding one of their delicious baked goods like their cinnamon twists, scones etc. I had to get a chocolate chip scone- they are so good! The biscuits and gravy were good- not super creamy gravy as you might expect and not a ton of it like you get other places, but it was tasty and enough. The potatoes were really good too. My husband enjoyed his breakfast bowl. Our friend thought the lemon blueberry pancakes were delicious and also appreciated the thoughtful addition of blueberry compote when she asked for extra blueberries. This came recommended by a local. It must be popular- both tables next to us seemed to be regulars. Servers were earnest and sweet. Since it was our first time, we were comped a small capes platter. Hubs lobster bisque and chicken eggrolls were good. But it went downhill with our entrees. The squash ravioli w/ duck confit was in a broth, not a sauce- and it had almost no brown butter taste, as described on the menu. My mushroom ravioli were drowned in an overly heavy cheese sauce that completely overpowered the mushroom. Sigh! On the way out, they offer you a bag of treats from their bakery. I recently dined at Marigold and accidentally left my credit card in the sleeve after paying. I called the following day and came in to retrieve it -- the manager apparently had it. However, when I checked my bank statement shortly after, I found two unauthorized charges to online stores totaling over $600. I called the restaurant twice and left a detailed message explaining the situation and my concern that an employee may have stolen my card information. To date, I have received no callback whatsoever. The complete lack of response to a serious allegation of identity theft is, frankly, unacceptable. A reputable establishment should take such concerns seriously and respond promptly. I would strongly advise paying with cash if you choose to dine here, or at the very least, keeping a close eye on your card at all times. read more

Super disappointed... frequent traveler to the Springs. Like to try difft restaurants when I'm on the road. This was the second of three restaurants within 50 feet of each other that were open per their website, but closed the kitchen early and turned me away. Particularly upsetting is that I am inside the restaurant, waiting for service at the host desk, and a staff member walks by me to close the door, and comes back to ask if I've been helped. I asked if I could be seated... And he said I'm sorry we just closed. He did indicate that there were several large parties that night, one that had just literally left as I was walking in. My wife and I celebrated our 5th anniversary at Marigold Bistro, and it was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed, and the host even complimented my wife--a thoughtful touch that set the tone for the evening. The chef absolutely delivered on every dish. We were surprised with a complimentary champagne toast and a caprese salad to start, which was a delightful and unexpected gesture. For appetizers, we ordered the escargot and lobster bites--both came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. For our entrées, my wife had the lobster and shrimp ravioli, and I ordered the filet mignon cooked medium rare. Both dishes were plated beautifully, served on hot plates, and cooked to perfection. Our first time at this delightful bistro was last night, and our expectations were not only met, but exceeded. The atmosphere is lovely and it's quiet enough (even though it was filled to capacity) to have a conversation and not have to raise our voices. The food was impeccable and our server, Riley, was outstanding. He was kind, friendly, helpful, engaging, professional, and also far exceeded our expectations. I was really really looking forward to this restaurant. I heard the desserts were amazing and I also heard their food was great as well. Maybe I had high expectations coming in, but I was a bit disappointed with the food. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing either. The salad was typical, but the NY Steak was a bit disappointing. The fat was not burnt so I'm guessing their oven isn't very hot. I didn't finish the steak and that spike volume. I didn't like the vegetable choices either. However, service was excellent and it's a beautiful restaurant. I would come back but I may order something else. For Thinsulin fans, there's green light options, but there could be more opportunities to make more green light dishes. read more

Allowing lingering over coffee effortless and service timing was perfect. Mr. Miller's greeting at the front door was like an old friend at the door and I am smiling at the white table cloths. Reminding me of a intimate place in the 16t e. in Paris. The food was memorable. My husband had lthe Poulet Blanc and homemade chips. I ordered a deconstructed sandwich of grilled Red Bird Chicken(my favorite Colorado bird) breast small greens and those homemade chips! I had the cauliflower Asiago soup as my appetizer. It was delicious. Creamy and cheesy. I then had the ravioli in a butter sage sauce topped with duck confit. The sauce was too watery, it should have had a more pronounced butter flavor. I could barely taste the butter. The duck crispy and very good. The waiter was very friendly, too friendly and attentive for my taste. The dining area was comfortable and not too loud. read more
