Hair in my bagel sandwich... My stomach was already on the fence so of course I vomited right after I noticed.
Meme T.

I normally love this place but not anymore... I found a brown hair in my food. I'm done... They are not covering their heads because they don't think it's that big of a deal if they get hairs or God knows what else in our food. I'm done...

Shug's Bagels brings that real NYC bagel shop energy the moment you walk in. The New York-inspired decor immediately sets the tone and gives you that classic bagel-shop nostalgia--the kind of place that feels familiar even if it's your first visit. I had the everything bagel and it was absolutely delicious--perfectly satisfying and done right. I also grabbed an egg, sausage, and cheese bagel, and that one slapped just as hard. Both were fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you want from a solid bagel spot. The vibe is casual, fast-moving, and exactly what you want when you're craving a legit bagel. You can tell they care about doing it right, not overthinking it, and letting the product speak for itself. Bonus points for having Gatorade in a can--you really can't go wrong with that. It's the kind of place that reminds you why bagels are more than just breakfast--they're comfort food, culture, and routine all rolled into one. If you appreciate NYC-style touches and a spot that respects bagel tradition, Shug's is absolutely worth the stop.

Despising my relocation has nearly become my entire personality, it's sad but accurate and I own that. However, I'm trying to make the best of a terrible horrible no good very bad thing by creating my Dallas must experience list (before getting the F Out and back to LA). Enter Shug's, they totally made the cut and seem to be a bagel institution, so you know I had to pay them a visit. I'm more of a bagel and lox type gal but their best seller is a bagel sandwich with egg, cheese, bacon and hash brown. I really don't like hash browns and only ever cook with them when a recipe calls for them. I was almost going to make an edit and leave them off, turns out they totes made the entire sandwich in addition to + jalapeño cream cheese. I love a spicy kick! I drove to Shug's on a rainy Saturday morning, ran across the lot in a strong down pour (another attempt to feel something in a city with zero energy) entered their front door to find a line and full house. Not a single empty seat and immediately was feeling the place. I've only tried one other bagel spot in Plano and in all honesty their bagel alone was better than my everything bagel here. I think Shug's is definitely a bagel sandwich place. If you're nearby, they hit the spot! Service was excellent, crowd diverse and great. I ended up snagging a seat at a communal table. Until I drive away to never ever ever ever return, I can see myself grabbing another bite from here, if I'm in the area. Great spot! Can totally see why people love it.

Single Bagel and egg burrito

I ordered delivery thru DoorDash so my review is based on that currently. The bagel quality was very good and worth ordering 1/2 to full dozen depending on how fast you eat them. The order was correct and everything arrived warm not needing any reheating. The burrito tasted Tex-Mex inspired and hit the spot. I added sour cream and hot sauce which completed the flavor explosion. The plain bagel with regular cream cheese and jelly was good. I didn't need as much cream cheese so do keep in mind 4oz is roughly a container size in the store. I recommend requesting the cream cheese on the side or ordering more bagels plain to distribute the cream cheese to your preference. I'm looking forward to dining in the restaurant to complete the experience and ambiance. From the reviews I've read it seems to get crowded rather quickly and has long lines. Overall the delivery experience was a 4.1 out of 5

Worth the wait and the price Shug's breakfast bagel and chicken cutlet sandwich was fire

Matthew C.

Highly recommend this bagel spot. Can't speak for the bagel or cream cheese alone since I only ordered sandwiches, however those sandwiches were fire. The Reuben was great. Bacon, Sausage, fried egg and USA cheese was amazing. I want to go back soon to try their lox. Stop by if you're in the area for sure.

As soon as I arrived, I knew it'd be good because of the long line! I got the Shug Bagel and my friend got the Lox Bagel. They were very different but good in its own ways and I absolutely loved it! The sitting area was pretty limited but people were in and out quickly so it wasn't hard to find a spot to sit. The inside interior is unique and very nature-like. The process of ordering was simple and easy. I was pleased to see that the employee was quick and confident about answering my question upon recommendation.

Cinnamon raisin bagel & everything bagel

We were visiting from out of town and went at about 10am on a Monday. The line was to the door but moved quickly. We order an everything bagel toasted with cream cheese and a cinnamon raisin bagel toasted with cream cheese. Both of them were amazing! They were $6 each. We also didn't wait very long for our order to be ready.

Spicy shug

Shugs is a Dallas staple. The mockingbird location is cozy, and even when it's crowded with a line out the door, it's good service and is relatively quick. Went with the classic spicy shug with avocado, salt & pepper, and ketchup (don't knock it til you try it). Everything bagel is always the way to go. Fresh ingredients is what makes the bagel. 10/10

pizza bagel, mac and cheese bites, bacon egg and cheese

Back again at shugs to give it another try. Ordered a bacon egg cheese on an everything with scallion cream cheese and some mac and cheese bites. The mac and cheese bites were a nice snackable side, and has a velveeta type of mac inside. I just wish my bagel was actually hot, like it just seems stale and old, just like the other location. The inclusions in my sandwich were good but i'm here for the bagel. Disappointed tbh

Spicy Shug

We ordered Shug's this weekend after hearing great things about their breakfast sandwiches and we weren't disappointed. They were tasty and really filling! It was hard to narrow down which to choose from but we went with a Spicy Shug and a regular Shug. Would definitely check this place out if you're in the Dallas area. The Spicy Shug comes with bacon, egg, pepper jack cheese with a hashbrown and hot sauce. I switched it up a little and went with no bacon but an extra egg on a sesame bagel. The hot sauce was really tasty, full of flavor but balanced with a medium amount of spice! The Shug is similar but without hot sauce or pepper jack cheese. We changed it up a little though, we ordered it on an onion bagel with sausage and grilled onions. It was really good! The hashbrowns add a nice and crispy aspect to the sandwich!

Jasmine L.

Visited this location, which is much bigger than the one on Lemon! Picked up my order. I decided to get an egg sandwich with egg whites, turkey bacon, cheddar cheese, and a hashbrown on a wheat everything bagel. The hashbrown was so crispy and fresh, and the turkey bacon was also tasty! Service was great as always, and the employee who helped up was extremely nice!

Black and white cookies
Kimberlin G.

The bagels and black and white cookies are great. Definitely recommend placing your order in advance and waiting until the time the order says it'll be ready, it takes time bc they're consistently busy.

Highly recommend the spicy shug bagel sandwich…read more It was a rainy Saturday morning when I visited Shug's, and that did not deter the crowd. The line was out the door, and there was no way they weren't beyond their max capacity. The line moved pretty quickly, I ordered, and then went outside where I could breathe. I didn't have to wait too long, and the sandwich was incredible. I got mine on an everything bagel. They don't skimp on the portions, I feel like I had 5-6 strips of bacon on mine. Overall, an excellent experience and highly recommend!

I am always on the prowl for meatless options that don't feel like a sacrifice, and this loaded bagel sandwich is the gold standard. I went with the Plain bagel, and the textures were incredible. The egg was perfectly fluffy, the cheese was melted into every nook and cranny, and that steaming hot hash brown inside provided a salty crunch that takes the whole thing to another level. It's a heavy, satisfying, and undeniably delicious sandwich that proves you don't need meat to have a world-class breakfast. If you want to lean into the indulgence, get it on a toasted Everything bagel. The extra garlic and onion bits on the crust pair perfectly with the richness of the egg and cheese! The bagel itself has that authentic NYC "snap" on the outside and a soft, chewy interior. It manages to hold all those heavy ingredients together without getting soggy--a true feat of bagel engineering! The line was out the door, but it moved quickly, and the high-energy staff kept the vibes 10/10. It's clear why this is a Dallas staple.

I kept noticing how it got so much traction from people on their breaks/also strolling the area, and I decided to give their egg bagels a try. And let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by how delicious my toasted bagel was. I order the egg bagel with scallions cream cheese and it was perfect. I was delighted by every bite, so much so, that my coworker and I ran back before they closed so she could order the same thing. I'm not from the Dallas area, so I ordered 10 bagels to go and the owner graciously threw in more bagels for me to try and share with my coworker. Thank you so much to the Starship bagel team. Excellent customer service! I can't wait to come back to Dallas just to be reunited with these bagels. Perfectly toasted, they had a nice bite, delicious flavor that reminded of the bagels I used to buy as a kid in Brooklyn. Starship is also located in a perfect area where you can sit and bask in the perfect atmosphere. Can't wait to come back and try their eggything bagels.

Reposting my review that I also just made on Google…read more I'll be honest, I was shocked to see as many 1--3 star reviews for this place. I get it - it's a little pricy outside of waiting for the $1 bagels between 12pm-1pm - but holy schikies the quality is amazing. The bagels themselves - all 10/10. The schmears are insanely good - the basil schmear literally blew my mind. I didn't know a schmear could taste that refreshing. The cucumber sandwich - incredible - never would have thought bagel, with cream cheese and cucumber could be THAT good. Sure - it's a bit pricy pre-12pm (but what placing selling real food with real ingredients isn't these days!) spent $40 on a sandwich, bagel with butter and bagel with the fermented jalapeno schmear - but sorry not sorry - still worth it. All these cry babies in these lower reviews complaining about how the bagel they wanted was no available - it's because they are that good. Sorry - you snooze you lose. Get up earlier, preorder if you want it that bad. To the owners of Starship Bagel - hope you guys never sell out (well keep selling our of product so you stay in business yes) but you know not sell out to big mega food corps, and keep doing what you're doing. People need more food establishments making food out of actual real ingredients - not the slop bucket artificial BS that 99% of any other chain bagel shop is going to use. Just look up what Einstein puts in their highly processed schmere's, it's trash and it tastes like it too. Zero chance if they put out a basil schmere that it wouldn't be chock full of artificial junk - just look up the their strawberry schmere on Instacart - ingredients include: Maltodextrin (filler, usually corn based), Modified Food Starch (likely where the bioengineered junk is coming from as noted under the ingredients), Natural Flavor (God only knows where the hell that came from), Guar Gum (a soluble fiber derived from the ground endosperm of guar beans - not something I want in my schmere), Color (almost get a pass except they state they use Caramel which is usually an artificial / petrol base colorant that is not good for you), Carob Bean Gum (plant-based thickening agent and stabilizer - still don't want it), Xantham Gum (produced by fermenting sugar with the bacteria Xanthomonas campestris), and then lastly Natamycin (natural antifungal preservative produced by bacteria -Streptomyces natalensis - something you really want to eat much of?). I'm tired of fake food, that tastes like cardboard. That lacks any nutritional value. We should celebrate when new companies come out like this - and not only that - but they offer their bagels at $1 if they have any left over after 12pm. These people deserve a block party in their honor for producing such high quality products - that yes - those unwilling to wait till 12pm whose selections might be more limited - will have to pay a bit more. People who recognize quality and hard working people will continue to come here. Last note, if you're trying to avoid seed oils, soybean lecithin / soybean oil - this is also a great place for you - and its one of the few places my wife can actually eat at since 99% of places in the USA these days, even the ones you think are higher quality - use trash ingredients with soy as a base - these guys do not. For that I say thank you again - to the owners of Starship Bagel. You guys rock - don't listen to the winey cry baby haters.
