The VIBE: It was a food truck, and the folks in it at the window were nice. They even had this little table outside so you could put your phone or something on it, which was nice. The Ordering Process: Was a little confusing initially because the sign did not state that it was a $1 extra for the truffle fries I wanted. However, decided to opt out and go with the regional fries. That was a mistake. They were not very good, and they tasted funny. It took about 10 mins to get the food out, which was not bad. The Food: That Philly Cheesesteak was amazing; it was the best I have had in a long time. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the cheese sauce was amazing. Payment: They take Apple Pay and card. I paid with a card, and someone else after me paid with Apple Pay. I had something from this truck yesterday.. Probably a philly cheese steak.. A friend bought it for me, so I don't know... Not taking the meat into consideration? The sandwich was awesome... Hated the meat.. I do not like pausing to remove something that chews like fat or cartilage... Not a fan. Change the meat to something like sausage? And you have a really good fan here. I had the truffle fries and Phoenix sandwich hoping the jalapeño cheddar sauce would do what my office's furnace couldn't do on this frigid spring day - what the crap Utah? The truffle fries are quite good and I think stood out with the chunky sea salt really bringing out the flavor of the potato skins. These come with fry sauce...but I was scratching my head as to why you'd cover up the flavor of white truffle fries & basil with fry sauce? Isn't that a bit like putting ketchup on a ribeye? The sandwich was good but for $10 you assume you're getting something bigger than a cat's paw, so you can't help but feel a little shortchanged in the value department. ***UPDATED REVIEW*** Just ordered the Beef on Weck, it was fantastic! The salty flavor, beef and sauce was a knockout. This sandwich pairs especially well with beer (when at Fisher Beer) because of its saltiness. Really, this sandwich should be their signature, haven't had anything like this since living back east. Veggies were nicely done, but the sandwich ended up failing with whatever kind of thick white sauce they put on top. I think it was an Alfredo sauce in place of actual cheese. Now, maybe it's because I grew up in Philly and have eaten cheesesteaks for most of my life, but I wouldn't stamp a "Philly" label on this sandwich at all. First and foremost, the sandwich was DELICIOUS. I had the Kahlua pulled pork. An interesting, new flavor for me, and definitely yum. BUT, it was overshadowed by the presentation. Served in a cardboard tray, that was to be expected. But by the time I sat down to enjoy it (a short walk away), the bottom of the bun (where the "fold" is) was soaking wet. When I lifted the sandwich out of the tray, there was a puddle of juice at the bottom. The sogginess made for one of my messiest sandwich-eating experiences of my life. So it was a delicious, yet soggy, sandwich. So, just a heads up: This sandwich is pretty juicy, and you will need lots of napkins--and maybe a shower--after eating. I think it would have helped a lot if they'd put a couple of napkins in the tray first to soak up the wet. read more

I ordered the Phoenix Cheese Steak with Fried Potato. By Fried potato they mean steak fries with salt. Nothing Special. What I mean by Nothing Special is that there is nothing special about them, and I had really hoped for something special for an extra $2. These were simply thinly cut slices of halved potatoes over cooked with salt. My favorite one was about 3x as thick as the others, so it was properly cooked. I would suggest doing something with them to make them unique, some additional flavors like roasted garlic, or something. The sandwich was messy, and I don't mean "Oh no I dropped a bit of meat" I mean nearly 1/3 of the toppings ended up on the plate. I suppose I should be proud, because unlike usual, I didn't get any on my shirt. My wife would be proud. The main reason for the messiness is that they use a pre-cut bun that is cut all the way through, this is not a good bun to use for philly's. A bun that is not cut all the way through is a great holder for your toppings. The buns used seemed like grocery store hogie buns. The best Philly sandwiches also put their bun on the items while it cooks, so that it softens up, this sandwich most obviously was built on a cold bun. The meat was cooked medium well, but was screaming for some additional flavor, it seemed under-salted. The veggies were undercooked, perhaps that was an intentional choice, but in my opinion a more well done veggies is better on Philly's. It wasn't a bad sandwich, it just wasn't that great. I am not exaggerating, this is the best philly I have had in Utah. I have eaten at pretty much every philly place I know of and nothing was like this. Just ate at this truck for the first time (at the Daybreak Food Truck Night), and it was pretty amazing. We had the Kalua Pig sandwich which was juicy and full of smoky flavor and the Hearty Veggie which was probably the best veggie sandwich I've ever had. It had marinated artichoke hearts that gave it a lot of flavor and veggies that were cooked perfectly, on a soft tasty bun. We added a side of the fried potatoes that were seasoned well and sliced thick but not too thick. We will definitely go back to this truck. read more

I had the Beef on Weck. This is something that I had not ever expected to see on a menu in Utah being a Western NY specialty. The sandwich was a little on the salty side(as all beef on weck should be) and the beef was crazy tender. There were a few too many large pieces of fat in the chopped beef but thats about all I can say negatively about the sandwich itself. However, the fries were a different story. They were 2 dollars and limp as pretty much anything living that spends anytime in the sun here.They either needed to be fried a second time or needing a temperature adjustment in the fryer. The sandwich was damn good and hearing "Criticism is how we get better!" has endeared me to this food truck. I'd recommend it but I'd preach its gospel if they fixed the fries. read more
