With our fridge and freezer completely stuffed for the holiday, panic set in immediately. After another company canceled on us last minute and the LG website trapped us in an automated loop with no human help, we called True North. That is when our luck finally changed. Jonathan is an absolute legend. Not only did he squeeze us into his schedule at the end of a very long Friday, but the level of care he showed was unmatched. He drove to Portland to pick up the specific motor fan we needed, battled brutal Friday evening traffic, and still showed up at our door at 7:00 PM to get us up and running. Beyond just the repair, he actually coached us over the phone throughout the day--telling us how to rig up a temporary fan on the condenser to prevent the unit from burning out (which saved us a massive repair bill) and ensuring we didn't lose any of our holiday food. Note: Sending a copy of the error report and product label helped him make the diagnosis off site. I think this speaks volumes about the company. They closed my claim without finishing the repair or my knowledge. The service call record (as in the email below) indicates they looked at my right oven (I have a double oven), but it was the left oven with the issue. I was present when the service tech was there. He quickly diagnosed the issue (I believe he said it was a faulty ignition pan that was firing to early, and said he would need to order a new one). The truth is that this company has trouble following through with service calls. They've wasted enough of my time with Pro-serve, but I suggest you never let them start wasting yours. Below is a copy of our records regarding our last visit to your home: **10/30 BM out-Went to home spoke w/ customer about gas smell. Found gas smell to be in right oven. BM found igniter works, it just takes about 15 to 20 seconds to ignite burner. No gas leak and oven works within specs. No deductible, no repairs needed at this time. If there are problems with the oven at this time, the procedure is to place a work order with your home warranty; and they will assign us or another company to diagnose the unit under warranty. Regarding parts being ordered that would be up to your warranty company in this case. We suggest you contact them for coverage inquiries. Our technician communicates findings to them, and they are responsible for discussing their options with you. So I decided to act like an evolved male, actually took my wife's advice, and called to get it serviced. I called two places, both of which had appointments over a week out. Feeling like my meats and veg wouldn't last a week, I called Dean, hoping that the third time would be the charm. We talked about the problem and he asked me insightful questions. I felt like he was honestly trying to figure out if he could get to our place sooner, but the best he could do was 3 days off. Better than a week, so I booked it. Well, he came today, on the early side of the 2 hour window he gave. He put booties on and headed right to the fridge, no time-wasting small talk. I reiterated what the symptoms were and he checked it out. Unfortunately for us, there was a pretty large issue going on, basically one that would cost an arm and a leg, and about the cost of a new replacement fridge. He apologized and said he wished he had better news. To finish up, we talked about what brands to consider, of which he would only tell me which ones to avoid based on experience; he wouldn't recommend any though, which is fair. And as others have said, we chatted about maintaining our current appliances. He even gave me a tip about finding replacement oven racks inexpensively. So, $69 well spent. Dean is a guy that seems to know his business and isn't there to socialize. He may have been able to assure himself of more work by fixing the issue, but he chose to be honest and say that it's probably not worth the cost. I will certainly call him again the next time something chooses to break down on me.

To find a trustworthy and reasonable repair shop it can be a challenge. We decided to stop by at Gassman Appliance Repair and we were not disappointed what so ever. Octavio was very friendly and professional as soon as we show up. We called ahead of time and choose the option to bring the Washer Machine ourselves to speed up the process. Octavio ask us what was the problem and as soon we we explained he pinpointed the potential problem. After we left our contact info, he personally called within a few hours SURPRISING us that it was fixed. It turns out that the part needed to be replaced it was on stock with then (the water pump) what a relief that was to have a washer fixed the same day. Tim saw on line our appliances had been delivered and reached out indicating he was available to come right over which saved us a bunch of waiting around time due to the delivery window of 3 hours. We thought our whole day was filled with waiting for delivery first and then installation. Tim arrived and greeted me professionally and took a quick look at the work to be done. From start to finish, it was less than an hour and a half. Throughout, Tim was engaging without being distracted from his work. Careful with our counters, cabinets, flooring and other appliances, and just an overall really pleasant person to have in our home. While he didn't have to make any alterations to our existing cabinetry, I can only assume his work would have been excellent. I was very impressed with his ethical standards. In our conversations, he mentioned an experience he had with a prior customer who had purchased an appliance that wouldn't fit the space they had and when they tried to coordinate a return, the big box store refused the return and told them to find someone to sell the brand new appliance to, rather than making it right for the customer. Tim told me he stopped contracting with that big box store after that because they didn't put the client first. That impressed me. It was recommended to install a plug instead of hardwiring the appliance. The fee was reasonable and accurately explained beforehand, and invoicing was quick and easy. When we ran into electrical problems (which ended up not being due to installation, but rather was due to external factors that were NOT the fault of RH), I reached out and asked if they could come take a look. They came out the next day (less than 24 hrs after I initially texted), found the issue, and fixed it. We are so pleased we are planning on using them for future projects. Given a choice for installations, we will always choose RoundHouse.

He was courteous and professional on arrival, and sounded like he knew what he was doing. After performing a leak test on both ends of my gas hose, he suggested the issue was likely the large amount of rust that had built up around the connection point and offered to clean it and re-season it. He spent a couple hours cleaning and polishing it and several days after maintenance, I am pleased to say that my oil heat up time has gone down from 2 hours to about 50 minutes; he also explained how and when to perform the maintenance going forward, and recommended the tools and products to do it myself.
