Daily specials
Kelly D.

Vegetarian review: First time here. I got a cheese enchilada plate with no cheese on top. I got all rice because the beans are not cooked in vegetable oil. The rice is really good by itself. The enchilada is good too. Luckily I came on a day that they had an enchilada plate special for $7.99! Normally $12.99. Their daily specials are worth coming in for. The person taking my order was great. I changed my order several times and she was very kind and understanding. The cooks in the back even seemed very kind. My order came out fairly fast. I believe the orders start printing in the back when the customer places the order to get the order started in the back. They have a TV to enjoy and a restroom to use. Ample parking. In the plaza next to Starbucks and Jack in the box. I saw a lot of traffic coming in and out as soon as it opened.

Update: still haven't went back for the fish tacos again, but I do go back sometimes for their taco Tuesday specials. The customer service has been fantastic and their street tacos are very good! Also a plus... They give you chips with your order and their salsa is great!

If you miss mother's home cooking meal, this is the place! Beans and rice were so delicious not too salty just about right!

This place deserves 100000 stars. Food is so good and fresh. The staff is friendly and quick. Definitely recommend and will be coming back.

#8 Combo
Greg S.

Really really good! I got the #8 (picture attached) one taco, one enchilada rice beans and chips. Very tasty, juicy chicken and a ton of food. You order at the counter and then sit down and the lovely lady who took my order came over during the meal to ask if everything was ok. It was! And that's excellent service you don't usually get at this style of restaurant. The owner also happened to be there and also checked on me. Highly recommend!

Potato Hard Shell Taco

I had the hard shell potato taco with asada plate. A prior visit I had fish tacos. Both dishes are delicious and made fresh to order. The customer service is awesome and the place is clean and inviting.

Great flavors wonderful service, as well as a clean and enjoyable experience!…read more Chile verde wet burrito was really good. Carne Asada wet also very good. Salsa is one of my main barometers of good Mexican food and the roasted tomato and chile salsa was perfect!

Went here for lunch because my sister had been wanting to try it for a while…read more Parking is a little weird because it's shared with a 7/11 convenience store and some spots are specifically reserved for 7/11. Still, I was able to find a spot quickly. Walking in, there's a sign that says "Wait to be seated", but when the waitress came out, she said we could sit wherever we wanted. We chose a booth by the window. I don't know how old this restaurant is, but I could tell that the booth we chose was really popular because the leather seats were so worn down that they had to patch some of the holes up. As soon as we were seated, we were immediately given menus, water, chips, and salsa. The salsa was really spicy, though, so as much as we love chips and salsa and would normally have finished it all off before our actual meal came, we could only eat half of it. Across from us was a big family of Latinos which for me was a good sign. After all, if they're Latino themselves, they could easily just make the same food at home, but if the food here was good enough for them to come here instead, then the food had to be decent. Since I'm vegetarian, I had to ask for them to not put meat in my enchilada, so the waitress just made it a cheese one. If you're vegetarian like me, there's not really much on the menu for us, but at least they're accommodating enough to leave the meat out if you ask. If you're vegan, you're really out of luck since it seems everything will have at least melted cheese on top. All of the food came out quickly and at the same time, which is appreciated since not all restaurants do that. In addition, the portions were big enough for us to eat most of it there, then be full enough to want to take the rest of it home, which makes up for the cost since it is a little expensive. Again, I don't know how old the restaurant is, but you could tell it's been aged through the years, like the paint is peeling off or splattered with what looked like salsa. Definitely a hole in the wall kind of place. On the other hand, if it's been around long enough to go through that kind of wear and tear, it's a testament to the loyalty of its customers. Plus, they do try to make it look nice with balloons, flowers, and flags. And they try to clean up the tables as soon as people are done eating. I just finished eating my leftovers and it tasted as good as it did when I ate it at the restaurant. So the food is good, the sizes, especially for the cost, are decent. Just know that the place is a little worn down, but the employees try their best to smile, be friendly, and quick to attend to your needs.

Google Maps turns you into a dusty asphalt driveway where, in the front is one stucco building that might have been someone's house at one time, and in the back is one very worn, almost sleazy, one-story building where three tiny Mom & Pop businesses compete for space. There is nothing fancy to see here, with the exception of the tiny, covered patio at the entry and a claustrophobic ordering counter on the other side of a sliding glass door. The patio walls are lined with bamboo, a couple taxidermied blue marlin, and some seaside-themed, tropical decor. There are maybe 4 tables and a cluster of chairs. I imagine, in the heat of the summer, it gets pretty hot and uncomfortable in here. And yet, reading the food reviews will make your heart go pitter-patter. Their specialty is mariscos with a Baja spin. Ceviche, shrimp cocktails, fish soup, fish tacos and burritos, to name a few. They also have swordfish and salmon on their menu. We came for the fish tacos and were we in store for a surprise! The chunk of fried fish in each taco was as big as a huge chicken tender. Our tacos were filled with moist, great tasting white fish (not tilapia)! The tortillas, hence, had to be the larger size, not street taco sized. The batter was crispy and exceptional, with a light, herbal flavor. The finishing touch was a pile of toppings, including shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, finely chopped cucumber, and an insanely delicious white crema-mayo sauce. I think the unexpected cucumber added a unique, refreshing element to an already excellent taco. The only downfall was that the corn tortilla fell apart before I could get it into my mouth. Heh, I can live with that...just give me a fork. If you thought the price of 1 taco ($4.50) was too expensive, you are wrong. One taco here is the equivalent of two tacos elsewhere. That's a great deal! This is not fast food. The fish is cooked to order. Plan on a wait. Although this is essentially a covered, outdoor dining enclosure with a dutch door style gate, please note. Pets are not allowed. There is no pet-friendly section, nor shady areas to park in their bleak parking lot. The irony of this was the number of off-leash dogs we saw wandering around the parking lot. We saw three small to medium sized dogs, and no owner. We ended up bringing our food and personna-non-grata pup home. They did a nice job with the fish tacos, and one of their customers assured me the fried and/or grilled shrimp tacos and mojo de ajo shrimp were excellent. This means only one thing...we shall return, but without the chihuahua fur baby.

Edit: final update. The "business owner" DM'd me just to argue. No resolution. No type of conflict…read moremanagement. They decided to lie about my interaction with them for their own benefit. They refused to leave me alone so I blocked and reported them to yelp. I can only imagine how many other people they've done this to when all I did was share my experience. This isn't the first time they've given me food that is not even close to worth the price they charge. I've made my reviews when they've happen. This however has been the worst interaction I've had with a business all because they want to be right. They could have just acknowledged my review and moved on but decided to continue the conversation in private. In her words "what do you want from all this?" I know what I want and that's to share my experience and continue to share the ongoing experience they are creating. I can't imagine what their goal is. EDIT: because they are lying saying I called 4 hours after I picked up my food. I ordered my tray at 1:30p I was quoted 2:30p pick up and when we got there to pick up we waited another 30 mins and left at 3p. In no way did I call you 4 hours after I picked up. You are confusing the time I called to schedule the order. Including pictures of the times I called. I called you within the hour i picked up. No one picks up an order and looks at it in the moment mostly if you bag it up. There is time you need to take to get home so please stop lying and take accountability. How is it I have been able to order the same way in the past? I know what I order and I am confident that I have ordered the same way and you have given me the incorrect trays only to give me the "correct" one and tell me I ordered wrong. No type of accountability. No type of genuine apology or service. Look at the picture. Regardless, I wouldn't have complained or bothered to call you had the ceviche not been bombarded with cilantro and hardly any shrimp. You think that tray that I just opened and moved around is worth $100? I also want to add that when I called in I was not mad or arguing. Why they are creating this narrative that I called to argue is crazy. I spoke to 2 girls and both were already defensive and I stressed that I am not calling to argue but to understand because again I was not trying to argue. If the conversation escalated it's because you can't even apologize for ruining the tray I received even if it was the wrong one. We all took a spoon full of this "ceviche" and that was all there was. It was all veggies and quite literally cilantro. Grow up. Last and final time i give them a chance. Service and quality is not their priority. They've made that very clear each time I've ordered something from them. From the ceviche to the tacos they are just not as good as they make it seem. This last time I ordered a tray of ceviche like I always do. But I was given a cilantro mess and it wasn't the right tray. They admitted they "accidentally" added too much cilantro. And cool acknowledge it but to actually give us this tray the way it was, was disappointing. I've always been the designated person to order the trays with them. And every single time I say ceviche de Cameron cocido. And each time I was given the tray that has crab. Why this time around I got just cilantro with shrimp im not sure. They tried to gaslight me into believing that I ordered wrong but I have the order written down in my notes along with their phone number so it sounds like they've just been giving me ceviche with crab even if I would order ceviche cocido. And so I ordered the same like always expecting what I've always gotten only to get what I got a cilantro mess not worth $95+. I have pictures of past trays and some times if not most of the time they'd hardly give us any shrimp and more veggies.

The wings were like chili lime flavored, it wasn't bad but not for me. The chicken wings were cooked really well, it would be dope if they did like mole wings or maybe like a pepita lime dry rub, the wings were there, I just wish they had more flavor options. The carne en su jugo was very good, I love frijoles, I'm a frijolero for real and it hit all the right spots for me. I rolled my corn tortillas up and I felt like I was home again. THE WAITRESS THAT ATTENDED TO US WAS THE BEST WAITRESS I'VE HAD IN THE WHOLE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. I can't recall her name but she was just the best with service and recommendations. She had to step away for a few minutes and she handed us off to another waiter, but the crazy part??? She came back! She saw our meal out to the end and handled her business. When it was time to pay the bill she had everyone separated by seat numbers, so that process was really stress free. Exceptional service 100/10. I also really like the photographer in the restaurant deal. I usually have only seen that in the club but it works well at the restaurant too. My only wish is that they offered a digital sale of the photos. We took some cool photos with our work group but we HAD to buy the physical copy and because we fly, it's hard to store those kinds of things. Amazing job! Visit here if you're thinking about it.

I came to have a meal with coworkers, not to be sold extra stuff so the restaurant can make some more money. And when we ordered extra food to-go separately (we had separate checks), the waiter put all our food in one bag and didn't tell us. These were two identical burritos, but they put one in a plastic to-go box, and the other only wrapped with paper. When we told them these were for separate orders, the waitress brought over a paper bag for me to separate out my burrito. It just doesn't make sense why two identical orders should be done differently.
