Went here for lunch because my sister had been wanting to try it for a while. Parking is a little weird because it's shared with a 7/11 convenience store and some spots are specifically reserved for 7/11. Still, I was able to find a spot quickly. Walking in, there's a sign that says "Wait to be seated", but when the waitress came out, she said we could sit wherever we wanted. We chose a booth by the window. I don't know how old this restaurant is, but I could tell that the booth we chose was really popular because the leather seats were so worn down that they had to patch some of the holes up. As soon as we were seated, we were immediately given menus, water, chips, and salsa. The salsa was really spicy, though, so as much as we love chips and salsa and would normally have finished it all off before our actual meal came, we could only eat half of it. Across from us was a big family of Latinos which for me was a good sign. After all, if they're Latino themselves, they could easily just make the same food at home, but if the food here was good enough for them to come here instead, then the food had to be decent. Since I'm vegetarian, I had to ask for them to not put meat in my enchilada, so the waitress just made it a cheese one. If you're vegetarian like me, there's not really much on the menu for us, but at least they're accommodating enough to leave the meat out if you ask. If you're vegan, you're really out of luck since it seems everything will have at least melted cheese on top. All of the food came out quickly and at the same time, which is appreciated since not all restaurants do that. In addition, the portions were big enough for us to eat most of it there, then be full enough to want to take the rest of it home, which makes up for the cost since it is a little expensive. Again, I don't know how old the restaurant is, but you could tell it's been aged through the years, like the paint is peeling off or splattered with what looked like salsa. Definitely a hole in the wall kind of place. On the other hand, if it's been around long enough to go through that kind of wear and tear, it's a testament to the loyalty of its customers. Plus, they do try to make it look nice with balloons, flowers, and flags. And they try to clean up the tables as soon as people are done eating. I just finished eating my leftovers and it tasted as good as it did when I ate it at the restaurant. So the food is good, the sizes, especially for the cost, are decent. Just know that the place is a little worn down, but the employees try their best to smile, be friendly, and quick to attend to your needs. read more

They are really nice and the place is pretty clean but the food is always on the less flavorful side of things when I get stuff. Like the guac for example is kinda plain. I stumbled upon this small restaurant by luck. I'm not sure what time they open but we walked in at about 9:20am and it wasn't crowded for a Saturday morning!!! Our server was very nice and polite, I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and it exceeded my expectations !!! Very flavorful and authentic, nothing tasted like it came from a can. I also loved that the portion wasn't overwhelming as I hate to waste food. They do bring out some chips and spicy salsa. As we started to leave, I noticed it was getting busy inside. We have had mixed feelings about 4 Serranos. Our first time was rushed because we arrived too close to closing. The customer service was practically non- existent that time around. But the tamale was quite nice. I discovered that their version of a wet chile verde tamale was my idea of perfection. Moist, and well filled!The Chile verde was bright, slightly spicy, very meaty. The lengua platter was decent also. However, our return visit was a big fail. We chose other regular items on the menu, including a chile verde plate, expecting the same results, only to be disappointed. The meal was so lack-luster, we decided against returning. But. Just looking at that picture of my meaty tamale gives me a gentle push in their direction. Not too many places offer tamales that look that plump and fine. We have lived in the area for many years and have never tried this gem. If you are looking for truly authentic Mexican food, you want to give 4 Serranos a try. I had the chili Riano and green sauce enchilada. I tell you what they must use lard in the beans. Because they are out of this world! They are the best beans I've had in a long, long time. The wife had a couple of softshell tacos that were wonderful. The meat was cooked to perfection. We live just down the street and have found a new regular place to go. The service was also very good. We ate here for the first time Saturday and it was so delicious. The employees were welcoming and friendly and got us a table right away. Our waitress had some great recommendations. I had the chili rellenos and the Albondigas soup. They both were so flavorful. My husband had the barbacoa plate and it also was yummy. They have fresh homemade corn tortillas and good chips and salsa. It's a cute, little place tucked in next to the 7-11. You might miss it if you don't pay attention. Came here Friday night at about 7:50, we were happy they were still open and serving since yelp says they close at 8. Nice sit down Mexican restaurant with very fair pricing. My family got a variety of tacos while I got the asada torta. The tacos were loaded with meat, the winners were the pastor and lengua. My torta was also loaded, the veggies were crisped and fresh and the layers of beans, guac and meat were just heavenly. They also had THE YUMMIEST michelada! I almost ordered a second. The restaurant is small but has plenty of seating. The keep it nice and clean and it is beautifully decorated. Service was great, both the hostess and waitress were super sweet and attentive. The people here are very nice. Really wanted to like this restaurant. Service was sloooooow. Patrons had come and gone while we waited as each of our party of five was served at different times. Some of items, like the chile verde, was not warm. All in all, the food was not very good. The entire meal took 2 hours from start to finish. The waitress did offer a discount for the poor service. Trying to find a new ceviche spot and came across this restaurant on yelp. I called as soon as the opened and the girl who took my order was very sweet and friendly. Nice hole in the wall place to come visit for a good meal. The atmosphere is exactly what you want in a Mexican restaurant. This is a small family owned and run establishment. The family that takes care of you are very nice, polite and make sure they make really good food. If I had to nit pick a bit, the salsa and chips are not your regular chip and dip that you may be use to. It's more of what my mother would make to put on your food and not necessarily for dipping chips. I'm hispanic and I love spicy food and love good chips and salsa but on a heat scale from 1-10 this is about an 8. The food is amazing and is served in good portions. It's very affordable and you are sent home with lolly pops for everyone after paying your bill. Parking can be a bit challenging when they are busy but you can park out on the side street next to the 7/11. I would recommend giving 4 Serrano's a try. read more

Wife and I wanted some soup, searched on line and seen 4 Serrano's has Albondigas soup so we went to get some. When we got there seen they also have Pozole. We ordered a bowl of each. The Albondigas had 3 nice size meat balls frim without a lot of filler and tested like beef should. Soup was hot, good seasoning and good balance of vegetables. The Pozole is red several big chunks of tender lean pork. The Pozole was hot, seasoned well with hominy, which I like hominy. Chips and salsa were good, service was excellent. I also had one of their happy hour 2 - 5 PM taco $1.69. Carnitas in taco had good flavor, tender without being mushy. In the end we were very happy with our meal and plan on going back for more. read more
