Plenty of parking but if you want out of the sun or rain, there is a covered area which I recommend. Top notch ambience and character with a beautiful chandelier and water features. I love the hand carved seat backs on the booths and even the paintings. Our group came on a Sunday early afternoon and it was all day happy hour. This included food and drinks. They also give you chips and salsa and bean tip. As much as you want. Quick note on the bean dip. It contains lard so if you are vegetarian or vegan as for the bean dip without the lard. They had a lot of happy hour food choices and plenty of non happy hour food and drink choices. There was at least one vegetarian option but no vegan happy hour choices. That was ok for us but not for one of the members of our party, but they found something else on the non happy hour menu. We ordered the happy hour birra tacos which were delicious. I'll cut to the chase. I've watched several restaurants fail at this location and I think this one will also fail. Most importantly the prices are way out of line! $36 for carne asada is just an example. Secondly, the service is below average. The chips provided were hard and stale and had to be replaced. The 2nd bowl was also poor. Thirdly, charging a surcharge for using a credit card is ridiculous and an insult in my opinion. I don't plan on returning unless and until these issues are corrected. By the way, we loved going to the Si Senior on Hall blvd. over the years when their prices were fair and the quality was great. I hope this can be fixed. Your food is good, but not good enough for us to come on a regular basis especially when your prices are astronomical!! read more

Due to the heatwave happening around here, my neighbor and I decided there was no way we were going to make dinner. She suggested Si Senor, for the vast menu as well as the great air conditioning. It was a win win. We were escorted to the bar even though neither of us were in the mood for a beverage. The World Cup was on and the place was pretty packed for 4:30 on a Monday. We learned that there is a happy hour menu from 3-6 with fantastic prices where an alcoholic beverage purchase was not required. Both of us chose the 3 tacos for $12 and unlimited chips and salsa. Totally recommend that menu because so often, the Mexican combo dishes are huge and enough for 2. I always overeat on chips and salsa and am stuffed by the time my meal comes around. This location has plenty of seating and quite a huge parking lot, better to navigate than the Hall location, for sure. It is a bit more expensive than other restaurants but you're paying for better flavor. We tried the Tacos al Pastor, chicken Fajita, and Chorizo con Queso Fundido. The restaurant itself is large, great for groups, and seems to be clean and kept nicely. Our server was very friendly and provided great service. Everything we tried was served hot and prepared nicely with delicious flavors. The tortilla soup wasn't our favorite but it was still decent soup. Been in a few times and it sadly seems to be going downhill. First thing you smell when you walk in is the bathrooms. Table was next to some very dusty blinds, and there were flies constantly landing on the rim of our drinks. Food is overpriced and nothing we had was good. It's extremely clean and the tables feel nice and secluded. We ordered the Fajitas for 2 with Chicken and Steak as the meats. It comes with rice and beans plates for both people with sour cream, lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole, and cheese. And choice of corn and/or flour tortillas. They have done a nice job with the interior. It is a large restaurant but they have separate rooms, so feels cozy. We had a plate of the ceviche tostados as an appetizer. There were three of us so we all got one. Really tasty! Our son ordered the Birra Tacos which came with an authentic dipping sauce. He really enjoyed them. My friend and I shared the Alhambra dinner for two which had a variety of dishes on a large plate. Everything was great and we could not finish it. The catch was that we went in on a Monday night and service was S L O W. Drinks, appetizer and meal came out quite slow. My third time dining at this restaurant. I live a mile away. Each time has been rather disappointing, each time they have gotten my order incorrect and/or the food has been subpar. I think this last time, last night, was the last effort. I ordered Quesabirria tacos and they came out soft, like an enchilada, not crispy, not anything like they were supposed to be. My question to the bartender was how does a cook in a Mexican restaurant do this order wrong? They send this out full well knowing what they're supposed to be, how does the server drop it off? How does it pass all these areas without the error getting caught? The only answer is inattentive and poor management! The staff is apparently allowed to do whatever they want to the gringo customers. The bartender made a half hearted effort saying they could remake them. But we all know what happens when you send an order back. I worked in a kitchen so I know. IYKYK. I reluctantly ate them. Not sure how I was supposed to dip it in the consume, but I guess it all worked out. Who has to eat birria tacos with a fork? No manager apology no remorse. They really didn't even effing care. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Ambience is pretty good. Margaritas were good although weak, but attention to detail zero. Bartender banter between themselves was all in Spanish, probably badmouthing the patrons. Only English spoken was to the customers. I cannot recommend this restaurant for anything, and I've tried it three times. I recommend y'all find someplace else with better food, service and that's cheaper. Met up with some family for lunch here and the food was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I had a carne asada salad, which might not sound exciting, but the steak was really good. My husband had a fish soup and said it was delicious. My family members ordered pozole and chimichangas, and both of them said their meals were great. The biggest disappointment was the Bloody Marys. They were not good at all, which I guess makes sense since this is a Mexican restaurant, but they were honestly pretty bad. On the positive side, they serve free chips with bean dip and salsa, which were both excellent. One thing that really bothered me was the added 3 percent service fee on the bill. I think that is unnecessary and tacky. It feels like restaurants are already charging high prices, so adding extra fees just leaves a bad impression. Overall, the food was solid, but the service charge and those Bloody Marys were disappointing. I especially liked the Pollo Mole Verde, Burrito Esperesso with shredded beef, steak fajitas, Enchiladas Banderitas, and Chile Relleno. Their dishes are also usually tasty enough that you really don't need hot sauce. Very enjoyable atmosphere without Bud Light neons, Oregon Video Lottery machines, or dusty decorative sombreros. There's a good selection of Mariachi music playing in the background while you eat, and the service is attentive and friendly. The place is also really clean, comfortable, cozy, and inviting. We go a couple times a month for lunch and order a table side preparation of fresh guacamole, which is fantastic. The house margarita packs a wallop and is big enough to share. Just order from the menu. The taco bar is a good idea, but barbacoa was dry (soupy, but dry meat) and bland. Chicken tinga was better, but still just meh. The complimentary chips are great (got, fresh, crispy) and salsa is ok but too mild IMO. The salsas with the taco bar were unpleasant. Major points for fresh tortillas that you can buy to take home as well. I'd go back for happy hour to try more items. I have been a fan for over 20 years starting at thier Sylan location ( stopped their on the way back from the airport) it was almost 10pm closing time but Joel told us it's ok amigo I have things to do. Take your time and enjoy! I became a regular at the Hall Street location (Joel was bartender after Sylvan) eating there 2 to 3 times per week and an occasional stop in-between for thier refreshing Michalada. Now I'm a regular at the new L.O. location, although I live closer to Hall. I always sit at the bar so naturally I follow my bar tender. Hector is the best! Excellent bartender! Always spot on with any drink I order. I dont understand the average 3.5 star reviews. Don't let that stop you from visiting for the first time! Try thier Carnitas or Tour de Mexico plate. I garuntee you will not beable to wait until your next visit.
