One time I asked them for four slices of lime and they sliced one paper thin into four slices. Another time I asked for brown rice if possible and they added an upcharge to my order without my consent. And when I paid for extra tofu there was barely more than came with the regular order. Been back a few times now and I think their food is just ok. I ordered the tom yum soup, drunken noodles, and a thai coffee. The tom yum did not have that spicy sour kick to it, =( wish i was back in Thailand. What really disappointed me was the drunken noodles, it was so smushy and didn't have that spicy basil taste to it. It had that sweet taste to it and it was weird. The thai coffee was fantastic, tasted just like vietnamese iced coffee. I will probably eat here again but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. Ordering over the phone was a bit difficult considering they were on a break from lunch to dinner. Asked for no shrimp extra salad on the order but that didn't happen, went in a few days later and ordered same salad and it was the same size, should have just kept the order with the shrimp. I have been ordering food from here for many years, 8 to be exact. I sent my African American boyfriend to pick up food and the staff was very rude to him, basically threw our $80 order at him, and would not respond to simple questions like "is all of the food in here?". The quality is just really hit or miss and I agree with the reviews mentioning the shrimp. It isn't ever worth it to pay extra for shrimp here since they barely give you any. This place has changed & not for the better! Don't know if the original owner sold out to new owners or what, but damn. Don't do take out becuz they will get UR order wrong -- every time. We ordered take out 3 times starting last summer thru a few weeks ago. Each time, we ordered our dish w/tofu. Every time we brought it home to eat, they left the tofu out. This was after me standing with the waitress at the cash register explaining exactly what we wanted & didn't want in our food. For example, we hate onions. The first 2 times they messed up, a nice middle aged man delivered our tofu to us. The last time the left it out, I had to go there to get it. It is more than frustrating having to leave home & go right back to the restaurant U were just at to get what should have been placed in UR order to begin with. Everyone at home is pissed becuz dinner is delayed even more. We went inside the place last nite thinking maybe we could get a decent meal like we used to years ago. What could go wrong onsite, right? Wrong! Let me tell U, they still manage to screw up inside the restaurant! I went in to ask if they had hi-chairs. Seeing that they did, told them the # in our party & said we'd be right back. We went in & they had menus on a table for us. Sat down & browsed menu & waited for someone to come over, welcome us & take our drink order. That's where it began & ended. There were 3 girls waiting tables. Only a few tables had guests. Most were in the middle or end of their meals. We waited & waited & when 20 minutes went by -- & we watched 1 of the girls seat a lone diner & go back to him to take his order after a few minutes -- I lost my shit. We were starving & our baby had had enuf of the place. I got up & went to the cash register area to talk to an employee, but they all had scurried into the kitchen. I was about to walk in there when the waitress who had been ignoring us finally went to our table. She had an attitude from the start. I asked her why we were ignored for what was now 25 minutes. She stares at me blankly for a few seconds & said "We did not ignore U." I told her she was wrong & recounted the events since entering. I also told her she seated a guy long after we sat down & waited on him! She then had the nerve to say they were waiting for us to "put UR menus down" before coming over. WTF?! I told her my menu was down ages ago as I knew that is a tradition in eateries. She still argued with me. I also told her U don't wait for menus to go down before taking drink orders! My father had some questions w/the menu & she didn't want to deal with them and said "I'll be back" after he made up his mind on what he wanted to order. I was livid! U don't leave a table until the guests have finished their order! When she came back, I asked her if the place was under new management becuz the service had declined so badly. She responded w/"Not yet." She went to get an older man, but we had had enuf & stood up to leave. Told the old guy that we had never experienced such bad service there or in any restaurant before. Siam bistro is a little different from the typical very cute-st thai restaurants, it has a very clean and modern feel to it. I had tomyum soup, calamari, and pad thai. My friend ordered pad see ew. The calamari was A+ ! It was chewy and nicely battered. The pad thai was a bit disappointing compared to the other thai places I've had it at but nonetheless still delicious. And normally pad see ew is not my go-to thai food but when I go back, I'd definitely order the beef pad see ew. Overall, it was cozy, clean, and delicious. The crab fried rice as usual was excellent fluffy rice, good amount of crab meat, tasty veggies. After a long day of work, I was absolutely starving and didn't even look at the menu before reflexively ordering my go-to Thai dish: pad cee eew. I've also seen it spelled pad see ew, but that's beside the point. Food came out quickly, but I was so hungry that I forgot to snap a picture. Food was hot and flavorful. Noodles had a good texture to them and the broccoli was still nice and crunchy. I thought the sauce was slightly on the salty side and the meat was slightly overcooked, but still finished the entire dish nonetheless. Siam Bistro seems to be incapable of controlling the spice level. I ask for mild every time I get food from there but most of the time they don't pay attention. You get home and the "mild" food you ordered is super spicy and ends up melting your tongue.
