This is my favorite place to go to in Carpinteria. It has a lovely outdoor patio and I always had a consistently good meal there. It is within walking distance to the beach and the shops on Linden Avenue. The service is quick and the owners and staff are very friendly. The panang curry was a little different from what I'm used to but it was actually really tasty, which is a lot to say for Thai food the SB County area! This restaurant was not what I expected at all. I usually order something simple when I try new Thai restaurants like pad Thai or pad see ewe but this place did not impress. I went with a few others and together we ordered pad Thai, pad see ewe, yellow curry, and "spicy" noodles. My pad Thai did not have much flavor. It also did come with any veggies like pad Thai usually does. I had to add some yellow curry to give it some flavor. However, the portion was good. I also ordered the Thai iced tea with boba and it was super good! The yellow curry was not spicy at all. It tasted decent but no spice. They also do not ask what spicy level you'd like for the curry. I guess it just comes as is and we have no option to adjust the spice. The "spicy noodles" were not spicy at all. It also has two peppers next to it on the menu so you'd think it'd be spicy but no. The pad see ewe was probably the best dish. It tasted pretty good and had some more flavor than the pad Thai. The servers were great and friendly so I appreciate that. read more

We went here on a Thursday night. It was quiet, no one around. We thought they were closed, but they were not. They people working there were very friendly. My husband has some questions about the menu and the waiter answered all his questions. For appetizer we ordered the chicken satay and it was very good. The two sauces they brought with it were both amazing. My husband had the Pad Prik Tai Dam. It looked and smelled delicious. He ate it all so I'm assuming it was delicious but I didn't try it. I had the spicy noodles with beef and medium spice. I was served a cup of soup before my food came. Oh my goodness, it was good. It was called Chicken Tom Kha soup. I've never had a Thai soup like this before but it was awesome!! I wish I would have ordered more. When my entree came, it looked and smelled delicious. It also TASTED delicious! The beef was so fresh and cooked perfect. There wasn't any fat on the meat and it was so tender. It had the perfect spice to eat and it was amazing!!! I ate and ate until I couldn't take one more bite. I was stuffed!!! I will definitely order that dish again next time I visit. Check this place out. The pictures really don't do the place much justice. I walked in expecting a darker place. When in fact it's pretty vibrant and pleasant. There's this one extremely large picture of a Thai village. I could stare at the thing all day trying to decipher it. Haha. Orders a beef salad and had the chicken eggplant dish. Both were tasty. This place serves large dishes but definitely not a family style place as they are smaller portions than most other Thai places. But, hey! You trade quality for quantity. Worth the trade sometimes. If it weren't for Thai food, I don't believe I would have survived college. I would have wasted away to simply dust in a corner of the library. When you're broke or on a budget, Thai food is one of those few affordable meals that every student turns to besides pizza or Top Ramen. Now that I am no longer a college student, yet still broke, I always find myself craving Thai cuisine on the regular. For me, Siam Elephant is one of the top Thai joints in Santa Barbara County and competes with Rice By Mama down south in Ventura. I often visit Siam Elephant for their spectacular lunch special which is offered Tuesday thru Friday from 11am until they close until dinner at 2:30pm. For under $11 you receive a cup of soup (usually Chicken Tom Yum) or side salad (FYI: dressing is a runny mayo), steamed white rice, crispy fried wontons, a vegetable spring roll AND your main entree (costs $9.50 or $11 if your choice of meat is shrimp). They have an entire variety of entree choices ranging from noodles, to curries, to specialty Thai dishes. I cannot help myself and always order their Pad Thai because their tamarind sauce they use is perfection--tangy and sweet, yet a kick of sourness with some lime added. The peanuts add a pleasant crunch to the al dente noodles. The lunch special is a large portion so I usually request a box to take half home for the following day, and indulge in either sweet Mango Sticky Rice or savory Coconut Ice Cream for dessert. Siam is located right off Linden Street in Carpinteria's main street beach town. Simply look for the wooden elephants at the entrance as you head toward the beach. There is also a large outdoor patio to take advantage of on those 350 or so days of sunshine! read more

But, from the street, the huge outdoor patio with traditional Thai booths, we were intrigued. So, we checked out the menu and we were hooked! We sat outside at a booth, with our pooch. The options were abundant and the flavors were great!! I was SHOCKED at how many shrimp came with my curry. The dipping sauce for the egg rolls was HOME MADE!!! It was SO good!! I've never had anything like it!! The husband was so pleasant, kind and attentive. The wife helped run the place and was also very kind. Their son didn't say much but, very polite and kind. i was here a long time ago when we were camping at Carpinteria State beach but it's been some time and couldn't recall how the food was. We stopped by for lunch, got here early around 11:15, good thing because the place was packed by 11:45. We started off with chicken sate. The chicken was full of flavor and the peanut sauce was delicious. The lunch specials were priced fairly at $8.99 and the portions were large. I had the spicy fried noodle, my one daughter had the cashew nut chicken, my other daughter had the pad prik tia dam with shrimp and my wife had the prik king. This is actually a pretty good Thai restaurant. The Decour is inviting, service is pretty good, and I really enjoyed the food. We ordered our usual chicken pad Thai, a curry dish, and other odds and ends. All were pretty tasty, and while prices reflect the seaside community, it did not break the bank. I don't always visit Carpinteria, but when we do, I will certainly consider having dinner here. read more
