A good friend of mine recommended this place and I'm so glad he did! The outside is unassuming being positioned in a plaza center but the inside is extremely well decorated and very clean. The price point was very affordable and the quality of food was above par. These things alone wouod have warranted a 4 or 5 star but the staff was super friendly and the food presentation was something you would expect from a place that charges twice as much. read more

Sorry to leave a bad review...all dishes were not great. Red curry was probably the best and it was just alright. Seaweed salad was good, miso soup so-so. Basil, which was highlighted as a top pick, was not good at all--bland. Both main dishes had more bamboo than anything. Chicken fried rice and pad Thai were both meh. Mango sticky rice had good flavor, but the rice was basically turning into gelatin. And honestly it was stupid expensive...and I live in CA, so I really didn't expect to have San Francisco prices in Sarasota. read more

This was delivered. This grade was ALMOST 3 star. I had the spicy tuna roll and chicken pad thai. I really wanted either the panang or red curry, but the veggies in the curry what not what I was expecting and seemed a little too different from what I usually get so I went with the tried and true Pad Thai. VERY GLAD I DID. It was probably one of the best I've ever had. I was skeptical because I'm used to it a little more orange in color but the tan never tasted so good. VERY impressed. Just delicious. That being said, the soup that I choose to accompany it was a decent, good miso (taste wise) but I wished for more green or onion pieces or something. The disappointment was the spicy tuna roll. As a non-spicy tuna roll, it was pretty good but it wasn't spicy at all. Very disappointing. Overall, I went with 4 stars instead of 3 because the deliciousness of the pad thai eclipse my misgivings. read more

There are two Thai restaurants in Sarasota that I can rate 5-stars. One is in South SRQ and it's Isan Thai. The other is this, in North SRQ, Siam Gulf, an authentic Thai family run business. They're very nice, clean and respectful. They prepare fresh and delicious authentic Thai food. We usually order for take out from here and I get the chicken Pad Thai and enjoy it very much, as it comes very close to my favorite Pad Thai in the world that I had in Northern Thailand. My wife, who is Thai, has fully approved Siam Gulf's food as truly authentic and delicious. So if you're close to this place then definitely order from there, and if you're in the South then go for Isan Thai. read more

This place was absolutely fantastic!! A lovely family from Bangkok, Thailand just opened this place two weeks ago. You order at the front, but they have full table service after you sit down. The service is beyond compare. No fewer than three of the staff kept our tea refilled and the chef came out and personally ensured that our food was just perfect. The food itself was stunningly presented and incredibly delicious. I had the yellowtail roll, the spicy salmon roll, and the Volcano roll. The salmon was mouthwatering, even as stuffed as I am while writing this review. I highly recommend the Volcano roll--beautiful presentation (it's on the right in the photo) and it tasted like heaven. Came with 24k gold leaf decoration and deliciousness. My husband and I came in for an early dinner. We don't eat fish or seafood and Thai restaurants always make the veggie dishes with a vegan sauce for us. We never had an issue with that. However they refused to serve any of their dishes with a vegan sauce and instead that it has to be either fish or oyster based. Since I'm pregnant and was starving we decided to order veggie sushi and veggie appetizers. However although our waitress clearly understood that we can't eat any fish or oyster sauce they served us the appetizers with oyster sauce without mentioning it ‍. We had heard great things about the owner and management team, and decided to ask them to cater a important client dinner party and sunset cruise on our yacht out of Marina Jack. They graciously delivered all the food we needed right on time for two dozen guests and created a beautiful presentation and display of their sushi and Thai foods in our dining area. Passengers were so impressed they were taking videos and photos of the food long before it was served. And the taste? Outstanding. Quite filling. Will definitely use them again soon. read more

I have been to Siam Gulf many times and the food is very good quality. Today I found out they increased the prices and decreased the portion. The lunch special is now $11 and you get miso soup and meat dish with rice. I ordered the chicken with garlic sauce. I was disappointed to receive a dish that contained only 4 small strips of chicken a small cup of white rice and vegetables in garlic sauce. I asked the waitress why there is so little chicken in the dish and she said it is because of price increases, etc. If i am paying $11 for chicken, vegetables and rice I should at least get chicken in my dish. I have had lean cuisine steamer dishes with more chicken in them. I fully understand costs are going up but please dont raise the cost and reduce the size. I work hard for my money and just want to be treated fair and not taken advantage of. The food is very good but I will not be going back there again. I can spend my money somewhere else. read more
