A pleasant surprise in a small town on our road trip! The service was great, the decor very nice Asian, and the food quite good. I had shrimp Pad Thai, which had plenty of shrimp and was satisfying. I'm spoiled because I was just in Thailand a couple months ago, so it definitely wasn't the same, but helped satisfy my craving. My husband got the mixed tempura and really enjoyed it. Passing through Rock Springs on our way home to Jackson, we stopped to grab a bite at Siam King. My boyfriend had the BBQ pork fried rice, and I had the pad Thai with chicken and tofu. Fried rice was good, just a little under seasoned. Pad Thai was loaded with chicken and tofu, and was delicious. We both had hot tea which was of sub par quality but overall it was a pleasant dining experience. We'd certainly give it another try in the future. read more

The service is friendly and accommodating at the Siam King. The decor is tasteful and serene. And the food is quite polished. The sushi rolls are good, fresh enough. The dumplings are delightful, little pockets of deliciousness. My girl friend and I went for girls' night this week and had a lovely - and large meal. We ordered the Happy Family for two, which was enough food for the two of us to gorge ourselves and bring home leftovers for at least two more meals. The wonton soup is decadent. The broth is flavored perfectly, the meat tender, and the vegetables crisp. We had beef with snow peas, and again, the vegetables were fresh and crisp. The ham fried rice is as good as any in a big city. I've never had a bad dish here. From Chinese to Japanese to Thai, this diverse kitchen manages to execute several distinctly different cuisines. This was my 1st time here. The Service was fast & friendly and food was good. The place looks nice and clean. For lunch I ordered take out of the special combination with beef n broccoli, ham fried rice, chicken chow mein,sweet n sour pork &chicken, with a side of egg roll &wonton for $7.99. I also got a small hot n sour soup for $1.50. Altogether only costs $10.06. You can't get all this for under $10 elsewhere. I would come back here again when I'm in town. read more

Siam King review Arrived after a long drive from the Yellowstone region and hoped to enjoy a nice meal on the final day of my vacation. I chose this restaurant based on some positive reviews. My waiter, though well mannered, didn't speak enough English to answer any questions, so another waiter was called over. Since this was my first time here, I asked for the waiter's own favorites and ordered one of them. The cook was Chinese, so I asked for a Chinese dish--as opposed to Thai or Japanese. The wonton soup was only available in large size, which is too much for a single person if a main course is also ordered. The broth was bland. The wonton noodle was so overcooked that it disintegrated upon contact with the spoon. The main dish was sesame chicken. Never had this before. It was fine, but won't order the same at any restaurant ( battered, fried chicken with sweet sauce and sesame seed sprinkled on top ). I also ordered beer which was served without a glass. They did not provide chopsticks by default. I did not ask for any. Service was quick, but there were only a few tables occupied on a Saturday at dinner time. This should have been a clue for me. They did not offer to help putting the leftovers in a box. I had to do this myself. I won't come back to this place again. They weren't terrible--just very avarage, which is probably ok for a blue collar town with transient energy industry laborers. read more

I ordered take out twice. Both times the orders were produced promptly. Once I had lemon chicken and the lemon sauce was quite delicious. It is hard to find lemon chicken on Chinese menus these days. Crab Rangoon were crispy with a generous side of dipping sauce. The second time I had orange chicken which was also flavorful. The sweet potato tempura appetizer either needed to be cut a little thinner or cooked a little more, but it was still tasty with a generous portion of a soy flavored dipping sauce. The entree portions are generously sized for the price. I had steamed rice both times and I prefer my rice stickier. There are a number of Asian food restaurants in town, and I think this is a good choice for solid food and generous portion sizes for the price. read more

Staff unfamiliar with items on menu. My waiter didn't know the items I ordered, so I had to point to them. I ordered from the Japanese menu: futomaki roll and veggie tempura. Very sad that they ran out of shrimp gyoza! Futomaki was not vegetarian, but was good nonetheless with fish roe and crab filling. Veggie tempura came with a very thick sauce that seemed more appropriate for tonkatsu. When I tried to order extra mushu pancakes to go with my lunch leftovers from earlier that day, my waiter didn't understand me and said I couldn't do that. After chatting with the very nice manager, I was able to get my pancakes for a dollar extra. Maybe next time, I would order from the Chinese or Thai menu. I think they want everything to arrive as fresh as possible, so they don't hold one order til the others are done...which is good for crispy items like tempura, but a little unusual. First came my soup...pause...then my combo dinner (including deliciously tender broccoli beef)...long pause...then my sister's appetizer...then, one by one, with long pauses between, the other three meals. I was almost finished eating by the time the last meal arrived! But there was plenty to share in my combo dinner, so nobody was deprived while waiting for theirs to arrive. Since so many people expressed high regard, I assumed ( yes, that word) that dining here would be a great experience...not so. The lunch plate had a rather large portion of fried rice which turned out to be as tasteless as it looked. The giant blob of fried rice was accompanied by sesame chicken which had no sesame seeds. The service is very professional here to the point to where you could almost say that they are cold. That doesn't bother me though because I like people who take their work seriously. There is another restaurant where I've been to where they were certainly friendly, but the food wasn't all that great. The food here is wonderful! Every time, I order the pineapple fried rice. It's awesome! They actually serve it in a pineapple! It comes with whatever meet you want, pineapples, raisins, baby tomatoes, and some other things I'm forgetting. Amazing! My family was traveling home from Utah and decided to stop for dinner. It seemed odd for a restaurant to serve Thai, Japanese and Chinese especially in Western Wyoming but my daughter was craving Asian food. I love Thai food so I ordered a Thai basil that came out on a sizzling a hot plate with rice. I also like it Thai hot but the server/ owner said it would be beyond edible but could bring the peppers to me. WOW! The food was wonderful, the spice sweet and hot enough I couldn't imagine the kitchen adding it without using a respirator and goggles. The server was extremely pleasant, the service was fast and helpful. The bill did not represent the quality of food and service, you should increase your prices. I would give Siam King more than 5 stars if I could. Please relocate to For Collins, Colorado. read more

I'm giving it 5 stars based upon it's location, quality of food and portion size. I ordered a lunch-sized Green Curry and got what would normally be a dinner sized serving. The curry was excellent - sweet, spicy and fresh. The pork was tender, sliced thin and also fresh tasting. The vegetable were tasty and included green peppers, onions and eggplant. I would have liked a little more mint. The rice was not stale. I also ordered a Thai iced tea and it was very good. My meal included a dinner salad (not many dressing choices :-( ) a spring roll and a crab Rangoon. Overall - excellent for Rock Springs, WY. I'll come back! read more

Service was not good at all Friday evening. They were not busy for dinner time, 6 PM. If you're asked what you would like to drink, and ask what kind of drinks they have, you will be told, "Pepsi products." Not so kid friendly. Our 7 year old grandson's root beer was in the largest glass without a lid. The waiter acted like it was an inconvenience to serve his drink in a smaller glass; he did put a lid on it. The mu shu pork sat on the table & got cold while waiting for the wrappers & plum sauce. Grandpa kept asking for a plate to have other foods; we ordered 5 entrees for 4 people. The waiter kept shouting, "It's coming, it's coming!" The yellow chicken curry had chicken, of course, a few sliced carrots, and French fry cut potatoes?!? Maybe they ran out of vegetables, maybe they have a new chef. The chicken and carrots were good in the sauce. As you can expect, the taste of the potatoes were flat. The table was clean. i went here for my mother's day dinner. i had heard good things about their food and sushi, so we decided to try it! it's decorated like a typical chinese restaurant, but they offer plenty more than just chinese on the menu. japanese, thai, you name it. i tried the pad se ew (thai) as it's one of my favorites, as well as some sushi. the pad se ew was blah. too greasy, and the chicken was over cooked. it also took a long time to be served... the sushi was ok. i'm from CA, so i'm used to super fresh sushi. this was not, but it wasn't horrible. they have some good combo rolls. i'd go back again... only if a friend wanted to try it. read more

The last one was completely misnamed. It should have been something more like 'sweet like candy' shrimp.
