Tired of ? Food here isn't bad and it's not great so I guess it the middle road of Thai food. Service was great however the food I found to be bland and blah. The mango sticky was great. The curry was not tasteful, too much water drowning out the curry flavor. They serve such rolls too but I dare not order it. Ho hum Thai food in the area.

    Pork dumplings, golden triangles

My friend and I had an amazing dinner here. Food, service, and atmosphere were all fantastic. We will definitely come back here on our next visit to Bar Harbor! :) We had pork dumplings, golden triangles, and golden glazed chicken. The appetizers and sauces were out of this world. Best food we had on our trip!!

Missing an "s" hanging inside the Resturant

Biggest problem was waiting FOREVER for our food once they finally came to take our order. There was only a party of 4 outside when we got there and one couple was seated while we were waiting to be seated. They couldn't figure out how to seat 5 people and made us wait even though no one was inside and only 2 tables being used outside. Food finally came and I had to send back my food 3x to have them cook the bean sprouts. Presentation looks nice but it's the first time I had a pad Thai variant and everything was separate from peanuts to raw bean sprouts. 3rd time the waitress came back and said there was some already cooked into the dish so they took away the raw. They mixed the peanuts and tofu into the noodle and that was their fix. It was never cooked together and 5 small 3/4" cubes of tofu (cheapest item) topped the dish. Our son ordered the beef pho dish - almost a half serving of noodle, 4 pieces of tough chewy meat? Broth bland and some uncooked bean sprouts once again. Our other son got sick after eating yellow curry with chicken. Wife had green curry and pork - no lie 4/5 thin small strips of pork and just lots of liquid in the bowl Very disappointing meal - place filled up and everyone was sitting no order taken no food given. They left the bill on our table with their handheld scanner and never even came back to collect it, let alone ask if we wanted dessert. P.S. noticed suv pull up with black shirt/pants worker come out (dressed same as the wait staff here) and carried heavy handle bag of food to put in back seat - almost as if they made 50 lbs or rice and threw it into a bag and their other Resturant picked it up?? Never again and we would eat at the Indian Resturant across the street. Oh and your sign is not spelled properly ‍

First off, Cil was out waitress, AMAZING!!! We loved the food and there were options for almost all dietary restrictions, including vegan and vegetarian. Everything came out fast and every staff member was very attentive and friendly. There were a few things honestly that were not the absolute best, but that was totally overlooked by everything else. I have no real complaints and would love to come back here. (pic: my partner sipping his bowl clean)

We sat outdoor for dinner. My daughter's Pho was very good. My husband's Drunken Noodle got thumbs up too. My Seafood Lover had a great flavored sauce; shrimps, squids, scallops and mussels (and veggies) were all tender, unfortunately the lobster tail was a bit over cooked and chewy (someone else in our party felt the same way). We are also more used to sweet and stronger Thai tea. Waitresses were very nice but some seemed to be inexperienced, especially when inquired about the lobster. Overall we liked our food at this restaurant and would go again trying other dishes.

An unconventional interpretation of ma po tofu, it nonetheless delivered classic flavor, with small fried local tofu chunks taking on a mix of spicy and numbing flavors, delivered with a hefty dose of aromatic scallions and an aromatic rice below. I experienced no difficulty getting my order. Online messaging made it unclear to me whether this place might be continuing operations in the future, and I can only say I hope they figure out a way to do so.

So we're in a tiny, touristy (both negative predictors of good food) town of Bar Harbor, (pop. 5089), so I had low expectations of getting decent ramen, much less good vegetarian ramen. Very low. But LOW and behold... (get it? Low expectations, lo and behold? No? No one? OK. Let's move on). Holy cow... so to speak. Cottage Street Ramen has amazing vegetarian and vegan ramen. In Bar Harbor, Maine, of all places. We ordered Spicy Mushroom Miso Ramen, XO Ramen, and Rich Shoyu Ramen. And all of them were so amazing. To start, the presentation is beautiful, a treat for the eyes, topped with grilled and fresh ingredients and fried tofu, and the Rich Shoyu has generous amounts of sliced grilled garlic which is sweet and mellow. I highly recommend adding boo choy and scallions when you order. Iit adds a few cents to the cost, but so much flavor; they grill the bok choy and it's super yummy. All three broths are all so flavorful, rich and full of umami. And while the whole wheat ramen noodle isn't quite as glutinous (chewy) as white ramen noodles, but it's really good, and a sight more wholesome! We're here a few more days, so before we leave, we may just have to go back another time.... or two! There is no sit down service, and you have to bus your own table when you're done, but for this level of goodness in this place, it's totally worth it. Also they have no hot sauce, only house-made chili oil, so if you like it spicy like I do, bring your own hot sauce.

Per their signage, take out only, no dine in as of 10/16/22, and no lobster. Hot and sour soup was ok, better than Sullivan's for sure (refer to my previous review). Had a kick to it, and nothing tasted rotten so we're ok lol... Crispy sesame chicken was good at the beginning, then it got soggy and way too salty. Schezuan lo menu was average, noodle wasn't too soggy. Questionable shrimp. Roast pork with vegetables and mushroom, recommended by the person who took our order, was mild. Way too much broccoli, a few slices of carrots and a few cut up mushrooms. Screw tradition, we're not going back next time we're in Bar Harbor. But at least we tried.

We ordered several dishes and were thoroughly impressed. We started with the tostada, which featured wonderfully smoky brisket with a richness reminiscent of pork belly. Our summer salad with whipped feta was also delicious. The "Gambas" shrimp appetizer was probably our favorite of the night, full of layered buttery, spicy flavors reminiscent of an Indian curry. We also loved the mussels appetizer, served in a briny broth simmered with smoked pork and chorizo. The seasoning and flavor profiles of every dish were surprising and exceeded our expectations. We all agreed that Havana is a must try for all foodies!

For my entree I ordered lobster moqueca which was amazing- like the best seafood stew I've ever had served with fluffy rice. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is because the dessert was disappointing compared to how delicious the rest of our meal was. We ordered the tart and it was pretty mid. Also- we visited for his birthday and they had a handwritten birthday card on the table which was very sweet.

Spend that time wandering Main Street's shops, because the wait was worth the bite. The shrimp and scallop scampi arrived swimming in garlic, butter, and pasta (perfect fuel before a half marathon). My uncle's fish and chips delivered an actual deep-fried slab of fish, somehow golden and perfectly cooked. We were excited to eat at a higher end restaurant for our last night of vacation, but the food was just not good. The restaurant is very cute, and i really love the decor of it. We ordered the pretzels and beer cheese to start since she mentioned it was homemade. The pretzel just wasn't that good at all. Pretty flavorless. I was going to order a seafood meal but settled on the chicken piccata. My husband had the burger, my son had the kid's mac and cheese, and my daughter ordered the dry rub chicken wings. I think they best meal out of them all was the kid's mac and cheese. My chicken piccata was just swimming in the sauce that I tried to scrape some off to the side. I don't know if there was something wrong with the chicken or the sauce, but I got SO sick after eating here. The wings were also overly seasoned and overwhelming. My husband thought his burger was forgettable and basic. WIth so many other great restaurant options in Bar Harbor, I think McKays can be skipped for sure.
