This is one of my favorite Thai curry places. It definitely is a privilege living in SoCal to have specific Thai restaurants for specific Thai dishes. I've mostly ordered takeout in the past, but finally got to try dining in. I ordered the Yellow Curry which comes with these huge chunks of carrots and potatoes. I know the size preference of these ingredients might differ person to person, but for this particular curry, the giant chunks of potatoes really works. They balance all the ingredients to create this umami flavor. Sometimes places might go heavy on the coconut milk or fish sauce, but not this place. The order comes with rice too, and if you aren't super hungry, there might be enough left for a snack later. The interior was nice and inviting. The staff members are all very friendly and attentive. They come by to check on waters and I see them cleaning the table setting whenever they aren't helping other diners. All in all, I really like this place and I hope they continue doing the amazing work that they do. read more

As a preface, I did order my food to go, so this will be heavily based on the food and service at the cash register. When walking in, the restaurant was very clean and the staff were immediately attentive and helped me place my order. I got the spicy fried rice and the pad kee mao. The staff recognized that I was of similar decent so that's always a nice treat when ordering from a restaurant, being able to speak natively. For me this is always a good sign of the food, knowing the recipes will be much closer to home. The food itself was prepared very fast and piping hot. When I got home I prepared my plate and was very satisfied with the food itself. The fried rice offered a good kick of spice, with well cooked ingredients. I got beef as my choice of protein. The pad kee mao was really well made, noodles were cooked well and the chicken I got as my protein held a lot of the flavors from the spices. Nice big parking area, small place with nice decor. Very friendly staff. On to the food. We ordered larb salad, pad Thai with steak and spicy basil. I agree with another reviewer who said that all the food without exception has been sweetened. Spicy sweet, salty sweet or just sweet. It was a little off-putting because normally I like family style meals and there was no escape from the sweet on everything. Honestly, the dishes were tasty and maybe it's normal for this particular family to cook it with this profile, but adjusting the flavor to be less sweet-biased would work in their favor. Decent! Came here while in town for a meeting and decided to give them a try! Being from NY, I have a slightly higher expectation when it comes to food. The staff here is very nice and attentive. I came to Bangkok Kitchen on a weekday for lunch and we had a table reserved. Our server was so nice and sat us down with water right away, which I always appreciate when I'm hungry and ready to eat. We ordered everything family style so we could share, and I have to say I was surprised by how much my coworkers were raving about the fries here. After trying them, I totally get it. They were so delicious and honestly kind of addictive. We asked our server about the seasoning and he told us it's the owner's own recipe, which makes them feel extra special. The rest of the food was pretty standard Thai food, solid and satisfying. I also love that they keep a variety of vinegars on the table so I don't have to ask!!! read more

Such great service, and such great food. My Thai food cravings had kicked in and eager to try somewhere I haven't been, I came across this restaurant. We came early on a weekday afternoon, around 3PM. The parking lot had plenty of spots open so I snagged one not far from the entrance, somewhat close to the dry cleaners. We walked in and were greeted and seated immediately. With only 1 other party in there with us (they were almost done eating), their service was focused on us. We ordered the following: - Papaya Salad: This was tasty. It consisted of shredded green papaya, green bean, garlic, and tomato tossed in chili and lime dressing. There were shreds of lettuce in there as well and we weren't sure if we were supposed to mix it, but we did anyways. It added more crunch to it and the salad itself tasted fresh. My girlfriend thought it was spicy but it had no effect on me. - Pad Thai: This was my dish and the dish I lean towards at almost every Thai restaurant. I just love thin noodles. I chose Angus Beef (+$2) and I feel it was the best choice. I also got it without bean sprouts :). It was a delicious large portion. No complaints. - Pad See Ew: My girlfriend's order, the typical flat noodle dish with egg, broccoli, and sweet dark soy sauce. She opted for pork. It was good, but I'm not a fan of flat noodles. She enjoyed it though. Service was excellent. I'm not sure of the gentleman's name but he wore his hair in a ponytail and had glasses. He was very friendly and helpful. Got the pad see ew from here, medium spice, and it was good! My one, maybe 2, complaints are I wish it had Chinese broccoli instead of regular. I also thought the medium spice was not spicy at all so get a level higher if you like spice! Pretty good portion and generous protein. read more

Was in the area and craved Thai so I yelped Bangkok Kitchen. Located in a strip mall with other restaurants and businesses, parking was a bit crowded but we were able to get a spot immediately. Walked into a quaint, clean establishment. There were probably 4 other table tops and some folks waiting for carry out orders. The staff was friendly and responsive. We ordered the cream cheese wonton, shrimp pad Thai and crab fried rice. I appreciated the pics of the dishes on the wall as it helped us in deciding what to order. We couldn't believe how quickly our food was ready - it was crazy fast! We really liked the quick and nice service and loved the food. The only reason this didn't get 5 stars was because the serving size was a little smaller than we expected. There was enough to take home for leftovers though. That just means that the food was that good- we wanted more. Definitely a must to come back here! read more

My daughter was in the mood for Thai and found Bangkok Kitchen. It's a small hole in the wall restaurant, but the food is good and the service is great! The pad thai was tasty. We also ordered garlic pepper with beef and stir fry broccoli with beef - both dishes were okay, my daughter said her dish could use more garlic flavor as she kept pouring the sweet and sour sauce over it. The fried chicken wings and tofu was perfectly crisp. Our server was friendly - our water cups were never empty. There is an 18% automatic gratuity for parties of 5 +. On a last minute trip to Southern California and this was luckily near my hotel. They have a nice selection of dishes on menu and you can also create a bowl from scratch. But there was a spicy pork one that had a lime based broth and that is what drew me in. The broth was everything. Seriously, could have just drunken a cup of it straight. Amazing tang, perfect balance of acid. So freaking good. I picked thin rice noodles for it, which where delicous, and there was generous serving of ground pork, pork slice, and some other meats that I honestly have no idea what they were but they were tasty. And it had two fish balls, which I LOVE. There was so much that it was easily two servings but since in hotel and leaving tomorrow I couldn't take leftovers with me, which made me sad. Other highlight, only $15 for bowl which is fair price. If I come back to area, I'm coming back to here. Hopefully with someone so we can share and I can try more. The pumpkin curry is not a dish I would really every order myself but I'm glad we did, as it ended up being a lovely dish with a great combination of pumpkin and spice. This is our go-to Thai spot. The servers are always very attentive. The wait for our food is always fast. And the food is consistently delicious and flavorful. Their curries are my favorite, especially the panang curry and pumpkin curry. We tried the tom yum soup yesterday, which was very delicious. Happened upon BK to meet friends, none of us had been here before. Parking was a breeze on a Sunday afternoon and no wait to be seated. Nothing special about the ambiance, standard fast-casual. We got egg rolls and calamari appetizers - tasty egg rolls, I didn't try the calamari but my friends liked it. Main dishes were Prik King pork, yellow curry, pad see ew (angus beef +$2), and Tom Kla soup (shrimp +$2). Not as good as Thai Town, but very good for OC Thai. There are additional charges for things like no ice in my Thai coffee +$1, but everything is detailed on the menu and our server let us know. Note that the automatic 18% service charge is for parties of 5+, which is unusual, but it's on the menu and the server circled it on the receipt. It's also calculated from the subtotal, not including sales tax, as it should be. All restaurants should follow their lead, it's so much better to be transparent. Absolutely loved this place! Came here as a party of 4 on a Saturday around 5:30. The place is a bit small and tucked in a corner in a line of shops. The pumpkin curry was so delicious. I have never tried a pumpkin curry anywhere else but this hits the spot. It was savory and warms you up. It comes with a bowl of white rice on the side. The pad thai was great as well. There were some peanuts for crunch and the noodles were unlike any other pad thai ive eaten at other thai restaurants. The noodles were springy and chewy kinda like rice paper. Combined with the bit of lime, the flavor was great. The pineapple fried rice was great as well. Pretty standard and nothing too special but overall a solid dish. [Didn't order the curry puffs but a kid at a table nearby was chowing down on them. A little Thai restaurant I found which ended up being a great place for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is small but it gets busy during lunch time as everyone knows the food will be great. I saw most people had the pumpkin curry on their tables so I had to try that and along with it some pineapple fried rice. Both dishes came out fairly quick which is great for people that are on a strict lunch break as they don't have to wait too long. I loved the pumpkin curry. Just the flavors of sweet, spicy, salty and all the goodness from the texture of vegetables and the meat I got just went great together. There wasn't the typical Thai hospitality that I was expecting when I came here. Food was pretty good, but the server (a woman) had a weird energy and wasn't very friendly to me. Meanwhile, she was attentive and warm to the couple besides me, which kind of rubbed me the wrong way. Food wise, it was pretty good, but the poor service and sterile atmosphere with crappy acoustics made it a less than memorable experience. Decided to pick this up for lunch today. Take out and just got beef Panang. The portion size was bigger than most, green beans were good and great Panang flavor. Not all panangs are created equally, but this is one of the better ones I've had. I got medium spice which had a slight hint of spice, but my coworker got medium as well and felt it was too spicey, so do what you will with that. A bit pricey, but not out of line with other higher end spots. I'll definitely be back to eat in house. read more

My partner was in the mood for Thai food, so we decided to try out Bangkok Kitchen. Upon walking in, we were greeted instantly. I appreciated how authentic this place looked, while still being modern with their decor. The servers were super attentive. They filled our water any time they saw our cups getting low and always came to pick up any dropped utensils from any of the tables. The servers were very on top of everything We got the curry puffs and the pumpkin curry. The curry puffs were amazing, the flavor was so rich and I loved how flaky the pastry was. I think the flavors and textures combined perfectly. We decided to try the pumpkin curry because we had never seen them before at a restaurant. I've never had pumpkin curry before, and it was pretty similar to a red curry but with soft pumpkin chunks -- really tasty. The Curry Puff were also delicious, pretty similar to a samosa. There were only 2 per order -- a bit less than i expected for $12 but still worth it. Service was also super quick, probably because it was a Tuesday night and we were one of just two parties there. This is a very clean, very small place. The service is fast and friendly. The menu has all the standard offerings. I had the chicken pad Thai, with extra chicken. Overall portion size was good but protein was skimpy. I'd estimate my "double" portion had 7-8 oz of meat at the most. Not the end of the world, but not ideal for the price. Flavor was great and noodles were really nice. Not spicy at all, which was a little disappointing since I requested it to be spicy. Overall good, but I might go elsewhere next time just to get more of my money's worth in terms of meat. If that's not a concern, this place won't disappoint. read more

This was the top rated Thai restaurant that had the dish I wanted and mango sticky rice! I had shrimp pad Thai as my main dish. The food arrived hot which was impressive since I got it delivered and the portions were large! My pad Thai came with a lime slice that I squeezed onto my pad Thai. Each bite was perfect with the crunchiness of bean sprouts, peanuts and the pad Thai noodles. The shrimp was cooked beautifully! My coworker had chicken pad see ew and loved every bite. Don't even get me started on the mango sticky rice... the rice and coconut cream combined had the divine balance of sweet and salty. The ripe and juicy mango with the rice was BEYOND heavenly. My girlfriend had leftovers of the mango sticky rice and was swooning too (and it wasn't even hot!) I really enjoyed my meal and I'm already thinking of re-ordering from here again. Barely any meat but I wouldn't have tasted it anyhow because fish sauce overpowering. The noodles veggies everything tasted like fish. The peanuts and lime cut it but it was just not good.
