Got drunken noodles (pad ke mao) it was so hot could barely eat it, it had next to no sauce, was dry and they used thin noodles instead of thick. My wife got drunken noodles as well and asked for little heat, hers was as hot as mine, probably cooking them together then adding the different proteins after. She could not eat hers. This was rated highly in local newspaper so I had to try but I won't be coming back. Honestly, tried a red curry and it was okay but the drunken noodles dish was burnt with the tofu and veggies overcooked so they let me try the pa see ew for free and it wasn't that good either with soaked up sauce. Also we came on a Tuesday night and they were out of spring rolls and green curry to make matters worse. The service was good but just couldn't get myself to enjoy the food. read more

This restaurant was such a great find for vegan options! All of our food had great flavor and we cleared our plates easily! Tofu had a great texture too. Veggie tempura was perfectly fried and super crunchy!! Our waitress was so great, very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed!! This restaurant does not disappoint. Service is friendly and food is delivered promptly. We had spring rolls with a very savory sauce with crumbled peanuts. Cashew chicken with rice and drunken noodles. Nice mix of chicken and vegetables. Topped it off with Thai iced coffee. Entree prices very reasonable. The ladies who were working here were so sweet. They were attentive, given that they were the only ones working the lunch rush. I had the Pad Kee Mao, fried spring rolls, and Crab Rangoon. I was hesitant when I saw my entree, as it didn't have a lot of color to it. However, all the flavor was there! Vegetables were cooked perfectly and it had a great flavor without being too oily. I ordered it at medium spice, and they probably could have gone a bit heavier on that. I assume I don't look like someone who can handle it though lol The spring rolls were great, not too thick of a wrap and tasted homemade. The Crab Rangoon was also excellent. Not too heavy on the wrap and had lots of flavor and scallions inside! Yum! The price points were awesome, and I hope they keep them that way. I stopped by this restaurant for the first time tonight and was able to get a seat right away! It seems like a smaller family-owned restaurant and had that comfortable/casual atmosphere. My server was very attentive and friendly. She was able to fill up my water multiple times throughout the dinner. All the food was delicious, but I especially loved the soup. It was perfect for a chilly day. And if you have room for dessert, the mango sticky rice is such a classic. I look forward to coming back and dining with them again! read more

I have tried Siam Thai a few times. I really loved the kind woman who seemed to be the owner. I was treated like a guest and enjoyed my time there. And, the food wasn't bad. In fact, it was good enough for me to travel there four times. However, I've been to Thailand a few times. I've eaten amazing Thai food in many places. But, this is not Room Service. Or even the amazing place in Appleton. It's decent. It's OK. And, that's OK. I'm a frickin' snob. Pay me no mind. If you haven't ventured out a lot and love it, it's great. I am on a mission to try all of Milwaukee's pad see ewe with tofu to be specific. This pad see ewe is a lil sweeter, saucier but not wet, tofu is cubed and crispy but not fried, wok hei was faint, but just the right amount of vegetables. The Tom yum reminded me of Vietnamese canh chua which is always welcomed. This was a great dinner for 2 with no left overs and so affordable! Amazing down to earth mom and pop. You know it's authentic when the decoration is minimalist and only manned by one person. With that said, ambiance is simple and you're here for the food. Service is fast, friendly and great, especially with only one waitress On to the meat of the review, the food is truly great. I think my only complaint here is that my drunken noodles weren't spicy. I ordered with some spice and there was none at all. The overall flavors were great, everything was cooked properly, and the dish looked amazing. But, this is a dish that needs to be hot. That's the whole point of it. I decided to close out another bookmark and I stopped here for lunch and to my amazement the dining room is still closed so it's take out only. The menu has a lot of good sounding items but the Thai chicken wings sounded good because I have never had them and I got an order of egg rolls. The egg rolls came in an order of three so I expected tiny egg rolls and they were with a side of orange dipping sauce. The egg rolls were ok with rice noodles and some fine veggies. The Thai chicken wings looked pathetic because a lot of the batter was missing like they were thrown around and they were tiny wings. A peanut dipping sauce came with the wings which was good. The wings were so small and had very little meat on them like Cornish hen size wings, had I known that I never would have ordered them. I came, I saw and I ate but I'm not very impressed with my food so I'm probably one and done at this place. read more

Siam express thai food is an awesome Thai restaurant. I have frequently gotten lots of comforting Thai food from here and have absolutely loved it. I love the pad thai (chicken is great, tofu is even better) with the bean sprouts. The noodles are tasty and the bean sprouts add an extra crunch to the mouth feel. Adding crab Rangoon as an appetizer is a great idea, I love the soft and crunchy edges. The street noodles are also a great entree. This was my first time at this restaurant and certainly will not be my last. The hostess was very friendly and I was seated quickly. The Tom Yun soup and Basil Fried rice with beef were nicely priced and I was given nice portions for what I paid. I requested the dishes be made Native Thai Hot and the flavors were excellent. I was craving Thai Food and after reading several reviews decided to check out Siam Thai. I was a bit leery when we walked in at 6p on a Saturday and there was no one else in the restaurant. It took several minutes before we could catch someone's eye and get seated. It was so cold inside the restaurant, I had to keep my jacket on, but some hot tea helped me warm up. We started with the Crab Rangoon which were super disappointing. They were lukewarm and when we bit into them it was like biting into an air puff; there was hardly any filling in them. The little bit that was in there tasted good though. For entrees we ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice, Siam Supreme with Chicken and the Green Curry with Tofu. I'm not sure if we just went on a bad night but the food was just ok; definitely not great. The best dish was the Pineapple Fried Rice. Service was initially slow, but it got better once the owner arrived. The owner is so sweet and really tried to connect with every customer. read more

Great food, sweetest owner, reasonable prices; this place has it all! I've tried many dishes from here, and I recommend them all (chicken satay appetizer, Tom Kha soup, pad see ew, pad soon sen, pad thai, volcano chicken, mango sticky rice). 10/10. The service was exceptional. I felt that the people running this place were very warm, inviting, considerate and hard-working. When we came in (Noon on a Saturday) we were the only customers but about 20 mins later the place was nearly full. It's a smaller place that was clean with authentic Thai decor touches like a large fish tank and Thai elephant tapestries. Prices are reasonable and portion are slightly smaller than at other Thai places we've eaten at in MIlwaukee. But the food was fresh and well-made including the veggie egg rolls we ordered to start. All dishes had great flavors and they had all the Thai fixings to adjust heat as needed (always something I'm a stickler about when eating Thai). We also decided to share a Thai Bingsu dessert. It was both of our first time trying this and it was DELICIOUS. It was a cross between shaved ice, a cereal bar and an American sundae. Got carry out from here once. I ordered the yellow potato curry. I loved that it was packed nicely so it survived the trip back home. Too often I have run into issues with curry leaking from the sides and spilling into the bag, which ultimately ends up spilling into the car. But nope! Not this place. My food survived the whole way back to my apartment. I loved how simple and hearty the curry was. I liked that it was not watered down. It had a nice, thick consistency to it. You can really taste the coconut, which I personally enjoy. The potatoes were also cooked to perfection. I did not get to try their noodle dishes, but I will definitely have to come back to try those since they look delicious!! read more

This is my go-to takeout Thai food spot. Why? They're conveniently located and you can order takeout right on the Yelp app. My go-to is their pad see ewe and Tom Kha soup. I can't speak to all of their food, but both of those dishes are quite good. The Tom Kha is especially wonderful--creamy, flavorful, with just the right amount of lemon grass and cilantro. The large is plenty for 2-3 people (as a starter soup, not a full meal). I've ordered delivery as well as takeout and much preferred our takeout experience (delivery took inordinately long). Tried their pad thai with chicken and drunken noodles with tofu. I loved the burst of flavors, very balanced so it's not too sweet and just the right amount of salt. The best part, which I have never experienced with other Thai places, was the charred taste in their noodles. It's almost inexplicable but it's so so good, I wish I could replicate that at home. Also had their mango sticky rice - it was good but not my favorite as I prefer the ones with the white creamy coconut sauce whereas theirs had mango puree sauce. I tried Pad See Ew dish in every real Thai restaurants in Milwaukee. You can call me crazy, but it is easy to compare or find mistakes. Their Pad See Ew was in a good range. I would come back and try other dishes. The crab rangoon is amazing!!!! It was different from other restaurants that I have tried. I wish they use peanut sauce with spring roll instead of this sauce.
