Today I used AI in my Tesla and asked where the best Pad Thai with fresh local seafood in Monterey was and it told me that Siamese Bay restaurant was absolutely incredible. My car was absolutely correct. The Pad Thai had shelled muscles, huge beautiful, delicious scallops, perfectly done shrimp and calamari. It was delicious. We had a great day at the Monterey Bay aquarium, which was totally packed, so I expected this place to have a huge wait, and we were seated immediately, and the food came out very quickly. Service was amazing. Food was incredible. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for some authentic Thai food. The Thai tea was also delicious.

Update from last year's review. Here for more great food and service. Large selection of menu items; food, appetizers and drinks. My wife and I make our trips here every year for our anniversary dinner. The owner and wife make delicious food as well as give excellent service. Large dining area and well kept. Support local.

Really good food, everything was sooo delicious I had the muscles, Thai noddles, Thai ny steak. I highly recommend the owner was so lovely and kind he helped us order one of the best meals!!!!!!

The Bangkok duck was the star of the meal for us. The skin was crispy and meat was juicy. Flavor was excellent and I'd definitely get this again. The drunken noodle was just ok for me, in terms of flavor, and the portion was a lot smaller than I'm used to. This was my least favorite. The Siamese Kai curry had huge pieces of tender chicken and the flavor was great. I didn't know what to expect from this as I haven't seen it at other Thai restaurants so it piqued our interest. I wouldn't mind ordering this again. Of course, we ordered a side of rice to go with it that was large enough to share between 4 people. Also ordered the eggplant dish, which was very tasty. I just love eggplant dishes. The Thai iced tea was not too sweet. There was a lot of ice but it's comparable to other restaurants in the Bay and for half the usual price I'm used to paying so it was a steal! The owner was really friendly. We came about an hour before closing and talked and lingered for a bit. I appreciated that he didn't rush us. It's a nice casual restaurant that I wouldn't mind coming back if I wanted to change it up from the usual cuisines Monterey offers.

Trekked over here from one of my offices in Downtown Monterey, it was a short walk, and the place wasn't busy at 12:45 pm. The decor is inviting and has the Asian flair to it. I ordered up shrimp springs rolls and chicken pad thai. it really hit the stop and the staff was friendly.

Service was great, along with the ambiance of the restaurant. The food has fallen short on flavor; I've been here a few times in the past and it was better then. They also used to offer a lunch buffet. The chicken had no flavor even eating it with the peanut sauce. The soup was heavy on the lemongrass flavor with the rice being a little too over cooked and soggy. I didn't have time to tell Sam the owner but I know he would want to get it fixed for me. Like I said, service was great here, come check it out for yourself!! I'll be back in the near future and hopefully it will be a better visit.

Came here for lunch with a friend & we thoroughly enjoyed our meal! She got the shrimp suit appetizer & pad thai lunch special. I got the fresh veggie spring rolls & the drunken noodles with chicken. Service was attentive & friendly. Ambiance was cozy, intimate while being casual. We are both looking forward to visiting again soon & bringing the Mr.s

The most authentic Thai food we have found. We love roughly 2 hours away and will come back next time we are in town.

We came in on a Saturday night in August of 2025 with a reservation. Tree House Cafe has been on…read moreour radar for the longest time already but they are so in demand that it's a bit hard to get a reservation sometimes. Parking can be difficult as they are located in downtown Carmel. Came in a bit early to try to be seated earlier but they were fully booked so we waited for our designated reservation time. They always serve you with complimentary bread service of focaccia in garlic infused olive oil & balsamic vinegar. We had grilled calamari and crispy garlic fries for starters. Our main dishes were Seafood pasta, Gyros Platter, Prawn Pasta, Osso Buco and Steak of the Day - 16 oz sirloin in peppercorn sauce. Dessert was cookie butter banana pie and complimentary baklava. Tree House cafe is a cozy rooftop restaurant with shaded outdoor seating as well as indoor seating located in the heart of Carmel. They're a mixture of Mediterranean, Greek and Thai flavors. Reasonably priced, friendly atmosphere, pet friendly and good food. What more can you ask for. Definitely a must try when in this side of town. June 2026

Treehouse Café has the kind of cozy, tucked away charm that fits Carmel perfectly. The indoor and…read moreoutdoor seating is beautiful, the atmosphere is inviting, and the staff was genuinely friendly from start to finish. The first thing they brought out was bread with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette and, no joke, that ended up being my favorite bite of the meal. I was still thinking about the bread while eating everything else, which probably says more than I intended. The clam chowder was good and comforting, but if you've had chowder in Monterey, you know the bar is pretty high. The calamari was the bigger disappointment. It was chewy instead of tender and didn't have that light, crispy crunch that makes calamari worth ordering in the first place. By the time we finished the chowder and calamari we were full, but we still looked through the menu to see if anything tempted us. Honestly, nothing really stood out. The pasta prices felt steep, and there wasn't a dish that made us say, "Okay, we have to come back and try that." The only thing that really took away from the experience was how close the tables were. I could hear the people next to us whispering and accidentally became invested in a conversation I was never invited to. Overall, it's a cute place with great service and a nice ambiance that's worth checking out if you're visiting Carmel. I don't regret going, but I also don't see myself going back. On the bright side, at least the bread gave me something to remember. Someone in that kitchen deserves a raise for that basket alone.

This place was a real surprise to me. I followed directions…read moreand it took me to a little patio tucked away next to a bank - there was an open door to a kitchen and the patio had two plastic tables and chairs. A waitress noticed me quickly and came to ask if had placed an order or needed to. They have a big menu! The lunch specials are amazing deals - a main course, with chow mein, fried rice, and soup! All for less than $15?! In this economy?? So I ordered the cashew chicken and a starter of cheese puffs (wanton). The food was all flavorful, the chow mein had a deliciously satisfying chew, the cheese puffs had a tangy cream cheese filling. I would say there wasn't an abundance of chicken - but there was a lot of other food to make up for it. Oh and complimentary hot green tea! I will definitely come back again!

I ordered delivery through DoorDash and had mixed results. The beef with broccoli lunch special was…read moreokay--nothing particularly memorable, but it was probably the best part of the order. Unfortunately, the chow mein was one of the worst I've had. It was mostly noodles with very little meat, and the meat that was included tasted old. I ended up throwing away at least half of it. Normally, I would have sent it back, but since it was a delivery order that wasn't practical. I had hoped to save some for leftovers, but the quality wasn't good enough to justify reheating. I also ordered two char siu baos, but after my experience with the rest of the meal, my expectations are pretty low. My biggest concern was the packaging. None of the food was sealed in any way. The chow mein container had popped open during transit and was handed to me already open. The other takeout container wasn't taped or sticker-sealed either, and the soup came in a plastic container with no seal at all. In my opinion, restaurants using delivery services should place tamper-evident stickers or tape on all containers. Food should not be arriving open or capable of popping open during delivery. The lack of sealing was concerning and did not inspire confidence. The soup was also only about half full, which made me wonder whether some had spilled during transit or if that was the intended portion size. Overall, the beef with broccoli was merely okay, the chow mein was very disappointing, and the packaging raised concerns. Based on this experience, I do not plan to order from or visit this restaurant again.
