My favorite Thai food restaurant! I love their spicy shrimp. Service is great too! Highly recommend

Ok so we start off with fried wontons. They were great with the plum sauce. Then ordered a bowl of the egg flower soup, was OK, a little too salty but the egg was heavy n the tofu was good. Wonton soup is great. I might just order that from now on because Everything seemed to be going good until : 1: she forgot to bring our refills 2: she didn't ask if we needed Anything 3: they didn't bring my soup out with my lunch 4: they took a long time to bring out our order of fried rice. Tai bbq chicken and 2 bowls of white rice. 5: the tai bbq chicken was raw in the middle!!! Which is a very unsafe to eat. The whole chicken was cold. 6: all these problems and there were just about 10 people or less in there. So it wasn't a busy lunch day. The chow mein chicken was good but very oily. And they add a little side salad to take up a quarter of the plate so you get not a lot of noodles and barely any chicken. Prices were fair but the whole service and wait time (for raw chicken) wasn't worth it. P.S. this was the second time the tai bbq chicken was undercooked. And let me remind you. That can be really harmful. So for that I give 1 star. read more

My family has been coming here for years. My grandparents were here often, on a weekly basis. My mother loves this place, especially the garlic pepper chicken and rad na with broccoli and beef. My hubby loves the cashew nut chicken. We have celebrated anniversaries here, my gramma's 90th and 95th BD and will celebrate my mom's 80th here, despite the covid. First time at a Thai restaurant, was always afraid that it would be too spicy. Had cashew chicken, was sweet and delicious. We had the all day special, won ton soup, 2 egg rolls, choice of rice and entree for under $12.00. Been singing it's praises ever since. And the jasmine tea was wonderful ! Just walked out of here very satisfied! The staff is really nice and attentive. I ordered the Yellow Chicken Curry which came with Wonton Soup and egg rolls. The food was delicious! Also, having never tried Jasmine tea before, I took a ride on the wild side and got it. Great flavor! My family has been coming to Siamese Thai ever since we moved to La Verne in 1986! Yes, your eyes do not deceive you. In business for OVER 30 YEARS, Siamese Thai is a La Verne institution! With quality dining options sorely lacking in this town, it's good to know that Siamese Thai is always there for us when we need it. It's our go-to spot when we need that authentic Thai food fix. The owner Ratana is so sweet and always welcomes us like family, even when we sneak in before closing on a Sunday night! The restaurant is neat and clean, with mostly comfortable booth seating. Here are some of the regular items we order: Hot and sour soup with shrimp (amazing broth), Pad Thai with chicken, vegetable fried rice (light but delicious), spicy eggplant (yummy!), garlic pepper shrimp, spicy noodles (amazing). Our favorite restaurant for Thai food! Food is always fantastic and the people who serve are friendly and efficient. I've tried several items but my favorite are the Orange Chicken, Cashew Nuts Chicken and the Hawaiian Fried Rice. Also a plus, is that we have never had to wait to get seated. This place is an absolute gem. I eat a lot of Thai and this is my favorite Thai restaurant in the LA area. It's ridiculously affordable, my girlfriend and I always walk out stuffed for less than $20. My girlfriend is vegetarian so I can't speak on their meat dishes, but their vegetables are delicious - always fresh, crispy and delicious. Their coconut curry is incredible. Great tofu. Great noodles. In a year of eating here I've been all over their menu and never had a bad dish. They're tucked away behind a Pep Boys and as of 11-29-07 the shopping center is under construction so the lights are off and there's no signs outside - good luck finding them! Been coming to Siamese ever since I was little, with my mom and dad or even for special occasions with my grandma and grandpa. The wonton soup is a favorite of mine there and also the egg rolls are good as well. One of the ladies that works there still remembers me so that's pretty cool. I always plan to come back to this restaurant whenever I'm visiting California. read more

Got in at 4pm when they opened. Their spice tray isn't really a typical Thai spice tray. I ordered the BBQ chicken and asked for water. They gave me a small glass and never even came back to refill it or ask me if I would like more. I guess they expected me to use the sauce spoon cause they didn't even offer me a regular spoon. I also ordered the mango rice as I always do and she tried to tell me there's coconut milk and there wasn't. read more

Our family has been going to Siamese for 15 years & it IS THE BEST THAI FOOD IN THE AREA!!! We've tried two other Thai Restaurants in La Verne...they don't compare!! The Pad see eaw is the best I've ever tasted! The Hot Pot Soup with Shrimp, mushrooms, little spicy chili, but the flavor is amazing!!!! Garlic Peppered Shrimp is a must. Beef salad Delicious. Beef panag with white rice WOW! Thai ice tea yummy, oh & happy hour beers are just $2.00 oh & end it with Mango & sticky rice!!! Taste was great, but soooooooo greasy. Service was very nice. Overall, meh.

First of all, the Restaurant is clean and up to date... one star for that. I ordered the Red Curry Chicken...it was super duper bland. I was very disappointed. I ordered the Thai BBQ chicken for my girls, it was good....chicken was well cooked, BBQ sauce was good...could have used a little more something...My Aunt ordered the Pad Thai, it was very good. I was pretty disappointed at the lack of oomph and flavors this place puts out there. It is very Americanized. =( In regards to the service, our server was very kind and the service was quick. However, when we arrived we seemed to have startled some of the employees, I guess they weren't expecting patrons..weird. I felt like we were interrupting them or something, not a good vibe. read more

We had just got done with our hiking over at Marshall Canyon on New Year's Eve. My hubby and I were hungry for lunch. So I hopped on Yelp, and was in the mood for some Thai food. I was missing my mom's cooking. I saw this place had a decent rating and reviews, one Yelper posted sticky rice with their Thai BBQ chicken so that sparked my interest and tummy was calling for it. So we got there it's located in a shopping plaza so there's plenty of parking. Due to the fact that it was New Year's Eve, they had NO customers at all dining in. They received an A outside for cleanliness. The workers were all Thai females in the front. They were all smiling and friendly to us. We had made it just in time for their lunch special, 30min before it ended. My hubby ordered their curry chicken, and I asked for sticky rice with Thai BBQ chicken. The waitress said their out of sticky rice, I was bummed. Then leaves to the kitchen, comes back and hands me the menu telling me their out of Thai BBQ chicken??! OMG. My mom owns a Thai restaurant, she's always stocked and ready to make whatever is on the menu!! So I was a bit disappointed, i felt like the cook was possibly lazy to cook it since its New Year's and they probably wanted to close up early since they didn't have any business at all. Once our food came, we ate it and it was ALRIGHT. I ended up ordering Pad Thai. NO ONE has come close to making it as good as my mom's Pad Thai that's for sure! My hubby's curry was a bit spicy to my liking, but it was okay. Overall, it's a nice lil restaurant in a pre-dominately non-Asian city so don't expect so much out of this restaurant. I'll stick to Thai Town in LA or my two favorites in Pasadena. The staff was super nice and provided good service though. They should have things that they present to customers from their menu. read more

Oh my goodness...this place is so delicious! Their wonton soup is the best I have ever had. I am sick, and it is soothing to the throat AND the soul! It is very reminiscent of chicken and dumplings, but even better! Their fried rice is A.Maz.ING! Like...oh my god, SO good! Their orange chicken is delicious and their pan fried noodles are heavenly. This place is seriously good! It is rare that you find good Thai food that is also inexpensive. Here you get the best and great customer service as well! This place beats everyone else! Great service and food! The servers are so sweet and the food has the perfect amount of heat and spices! The only reason I give it 4 stars is because the water cup size is so small! Dining here for the past two years now and it always leaves me satisfied. It's a mellow atmosphere to dine but usually I get it to go to enjoy at home. I've tried their red curry (been looking for a red curry similar to ones I've tried in London and this is pretty on point... Also my favorite dish here), Karee Kai, green curry, mixed veggies with beef, wonton soup, and the combination soup. Everything is always made fresh, delicious and piping hot! I usually end up having left overs for lunch the next day too. Another cool thing that keeps bringing me back here is the people, everyone who works there is always so kind and helpful. Finally got a chance to try this place out. It is located in the plaza with vons. The lunch special prices are great. I got pad Thai for 6.95 and it came with soup, salad, and fried rice. It was delicious the pad Thai didn't have the soggy taste I hate. Will definitely come back. read more

Excellent Thai cuisine. Came to this place for the first time last night with my friends. I personally judge a Thai restaurant by two to three dishes, all of which were ordered last night, which are green curry, pad see ew, and pad thai. First let me start with the green curry. At first I was a little nervous because it was a little thinner than I usually like my curry, and that usually isn't the best sign. But oh my god, the flavor of this green curry when mixed with the veggies, beef and my brown rice, was superb. It was some of the best green curry I'd have tasted, despite it being just a tad thinner than I usually prefer. So total THUMBS UP to the green curry. When the pad see ew came out, I could tell by just the way it looked it was going to be amazing and the first bite did NOT disappoint. Cooked and flavored to perfection. Another THUMBS UP. My friend had the pad thai, and I didn't taste it, but he said it was delicious. We also started with their egg rolls, which were more like veggie filled spring rolls cooked cripsy to perfection with a delicious sweet sauce on the side. As far as service, it was exceptional, and we had no complaints. I really liked the cozy ambience too .. lovely tucked away booths. All in all, this is now my favorite thai place in the upland, laverne, claremont area, and I will be back, and back again, and back again. You won't regret giving this place a try!! read more
