I had eaten here prior to the pandemic and had an enjoyable meal. Unfortunately this Friday night, we arrived ay 8:45 pm and even though the door indicated that on Fridays and Saturdays they were open until 9:30 pm. The door was locked but someone came to the door and said we needed to order quickly as it would take them 15 minutes to prepare our order. We were seated and ordered immediately. Table was sticky when we were first seated, there was one other couple seated and eating when we arrived. Our appetizers arrived after an entree and rice were served. The food was bland, lacking any heat/spicyness at all. We were done by 9:25. Bill was brought and we paid and asked for food in containers to take home. This is one of my favorite places to eat. Food is always good and fresh. And they have great specials. I recently tried the steamed fish and it was perfect on a cold day. It had just enough of spice from the ginger, the sauce was delicious. I enjoy their curries and the wonton soup is also great. Service is also always great. Our server is always so sweet and she is on it. My only complaint is that they are closed on Sundays :( read more

My friends and I have been eating at this unpretentiously named restaurant on a weekly basis for over thirty years. The food is always fresh and delicious. (My personal favorites are the steamed dumplings, shrimp rolls, chicken saté, wonton soup, Ginger Fish, Siamese Fried Fice, and Shrimp Gourmet.) The women who serve never change; they are always warm, friendly, and accommodating. And it's a quiet place to talk even when it's crowded!--such a rarity for California. LUNCH SPECIAL! 11AM-3PM Monday-Friday. Everything on the lunch special menu is $7.50, you get a choice of fried rice or steam rice and soup as well. It also comes with a small side salad. My group ordered 3 beef panang (coconut milk and chili paste) and 1 bbq chicken for me. The fried rice is your basic fried rice with rice, eggs, peas and carrots. If you're getting something rich in flavor or saucy, I suggest opting for the steamed white rice! You're getting more bang for your buck with this special. We even ordered another side of rice for the extra panang sauce we had and split it among everyone. The bbq chicken was crispy but still moist on the inside and came with this sweet sauce on the side. The sauce was a nice touch of sweetness in a savory dish. The Panang tastes like a heavy coconut milk curry, which was super flavorful and great to eat with rice. Thai tea was good too! Not overly sweet. Service was great as well. I would pay an extra few bucks. Don't want to order a full Entree. Vegetarian Options: Thai food in general lends itself to lots of vegetarian options, so this pace is no different. Flavor wise though, I think this place is a local gem for vegetarians alike. The food has a great balance of savory and spice without being overwhelming. My personal favorite is the yellow curry and the veggie fried rice. My very picky grandfather also loves this place, which should be an indication of just how good the food is. I get take out here from time to time for lunch since i work so close to here. Their lunch specials (11am-3pm) are 7.50 and they give you a huge amount! Their lunch specials come with soup, salad, and white/fried rice. I usually get the pad thai lunch special with fried rice. The fried rice here is really good! It's seasoned perfectly and little salty, just the way i like it. The pad thai here is pretty good, the only thing is it's swimming in oil every time i get it. The other item i get here is their rice noodle soup! It's a flat rice noodle soup with chicken, shrimp, and bean sprouts. It's one of my go to foods when i am sick. I've been here many times in the last few years, and things have been consistently good! Usual order of hot tea, wonton soup, and fried rice or pad thai. Sometimes, I'll have an appetizer like egg rolls or fried wontons. The wonton soup is top tier. Pad thai the same. Fried rice is sometimes a bit salty, so it's really the wild card. The environment is pleasant, the staff are friendly, and the location is quaint. The food is the most attractive element of this restaurant, which offers the usual Thai flavors and dishes. Give credit where credit is due, since some of the place I've been to do try and get creative and put out some good quality stuff. Siamese Restaurant is one of a few I think does a pretty good job. I've been here twice so far, both times I haven't been disappointed. I had the pad thai and one of the lunch specials. The pad thai, good flavor and really tasty, nothing was missing from this meal. The lunch special, I can't remember what it was called, but was a beef plate, really good, I was very impressed with the seasoning on there. Service is top notch, really nice people working here. Alas and alack...let us mourn the loss of this fine restaurant. Oh....it's still there, quite prominently displayed amonst the newly refurbished and a bit up-scaled-from-what-it-was strip mall. BUT while the menu is still the same, the recipes are NOT. My guess is that the chef and staff are not either. The Chili Fish used to be genuine gem [the evaluative term used by a previous reviewer] but is no longer. The Crab Fried Rice is a pale pale pale imitation of its previous glory. I always pass by this little Thai restaurant, so I decided to Yelp it and when I noticed they had 4 stars I was tempted to go in for lunch. I ordered the spicy mint chicken lunch special. I called in my order and I walked in, the place seemed to have a good amount of patrons dining, that it took a moment for someone to come take my payment.
