The staff here are super friendly and helpful my friend and I were driving from New Jersey to Boston and we wanted to eat here on out way. The GPS said we would get there at 9, but the restaurant closes at 9:30. So I called ask if we could ordered in advance. The woman on the phone said it would be no problem. We got there at 9 sharp. Within one minute the food were on our table. Fu Qi fei Pian, double fried pork and onion stir fried beef were all amazing. Fu Qi fei Pian was the best - spicy and numbing just to the right point. On Christmas eve my wife took the family out to this restaurant for dinner. We came here because at one time it was one of our favorite restaurants. After our dinner on Christmas eve, my wife was given her bill to pay by the waitress. She then payed the bill and we we went home to open Christmas Presents. The following week, my wife and her girlfriend went out for lunch to the same restaurant. The waitress who waited on my wife a week before for Christmas eve approached my wife with a serious look on her face and called her away from the table stating that she wanted to discuss something with my wife. The waitress told my wife that a week before when my wife brought our family to the restaurant for dinner that she gave my wife the wrong bill, and expected my wife to make-up the difference for HER mistake. Instead of refusing, my wife paid the difference and left; vowing that she would never return after being humiliated and embarrassed by the waitress. Her friend also found a mistake on her bill later in the day when she was going over her receipts and found that she was charged an extra $10 for someone else's meal!!! Needless to say, my wife and her friend will never patronize this restaurant ever again. read more

I stumbled upon this place on my way from Boston to NY, and as a right-off-the-highway option, it's great. Their menu has a lot of authentic sichuanese dishes, and those I tried were executed pretty well: the spicy beef tendon was a little over-salted but tasty, the cucumber with garlic was flavorful, though the garlic/scallion taste wasn't as clean as I'm accustomed to, and the mapo dofu, while seeming to include all the right ingredients, was bland apart from being spicy. Its a way better option than most, but compared to Lao Sze Chuan in Milford, doesn't hold a candle. read more

The only reason I give this a three instead of a four is the food is inconsistent. When it's on it's my favorite Chinese place. It offers more authentic Chinese dishes than the typical place. There is normal Americanized Chinese fare as well however that food is not nearly as good. You have to like spicy food to get from here as almost everything has quite a bite to it. read more

Looking for Chinese take out and nothing is open now due to the Covid so decided to give this a try. Ordered similar to I would normally order for 2 people that usually runs about $25. 2 poultry dishes, an appetizer and fried rice. It was going to be $50 at the Sichuan Pepper! So I was like this better be the best Chinese food I've ever had. Well not so much. The food was good. Not great but nothing better than I would normally have elsewhere. And unbelievably the portions for the large size that I ordered were comparable to smalls at other Chinese restaurants in the area. Usually for the $25-$30 I spend I usually get a few meals out of the order. It was gone the first day! I can't get over the price for the lack of food! Just to add it was good so I'm not complaining about the quality of the food. But it is no where near the price and portion they serve. And this is the first Chinese restaurant I've been to that did not serve egg rolls as part of their regular menu. If the food was incredible I might over look the portions. The price does not justify what you get here. I might have been back since they are the only ones open at the moment in the area but I'll have to pass since it's just not worth it. read more

I've been to Sichuan Pepper with one of my Asian friends several times. The food is authentic Sichuan! The staff are top notch and the food quality is second to none! The only other location I've had genuine Sichuan food is in Fairfax, VA. If you walk into an ethnic restaurant, and there are others of the same ethnicity, you know it is genuine. So ecstatic that there is authentic chinese in our area. After having a Chinese exchange family stay with us a few years ago, and experiencing their home cooking, I was hooked. I have never been able to find anything like the hot chili oil chicken they prepared or the sichuan peppers that they used. Sichuan Pepper has all of this. The Dan Dan Noodles, Hot Chili Oil Chicken, and Dumplings are unreal. They also have some typical American Chinese food dishes if you are hungry for General Tso's. Whenever I call for take out they seem surprised for some reason, as if they do not get a lot of take out orders? The past two times I have had to wait for a while for someone to come to the front of the house to check out my order. My only other complaint is that when I did order spring rolls, they were still cold in the middle, they must either make them and freeze them or buy them frozen, either way that is kind of disappointing. But everything else is fabulous and we will keep coming back! read more

There are many typical Chinese dishes as well as exotic Sichuan options. I ordered pickled cabbage expecting a kimchee type dish, but it was basically spicy cabbage in a ot of hot oil, not anything I'd order again. Table next to me ordered it and had the same comment. Dried green beans was very good. Chicken / broccoli was a very good dish. Eggplant casserole was a large portion and definitely different and good. Lamb with peppers and cilantro was too salty and not a favorite. I definitely will return and explore the menu. Rabbit, frogs legs, pork belly, cuttle fish, squid and more unusual items fill the menu. I was very impressed by the sevice and owner.......VERY helpful and friendly.
