We had a lovely time at Sicilian oven in Lighthouse Point. We walked in, we were immediately greeted by the manager and were shown to our table. Now, I will tell you that we went at 5:30pm on a Friday night, off season. This place gets packed quick and, during season, there is typically a long wait. Just prepping you bc there is always line...and with good reason. The atmosphere is quaint and it seems like your typical Friday night bar/restaurant with the hardwood floors and the bar and the sport on the TV. But then you get seated and the attention and fun begins. We were a party of 5 and there to celebrate the birthday of an 87 year old Navy veteran. Jack was our waiter and he was so very patient, kind, and 100% Italian (par for the theme). He immediately asked us if we wanted drinks or cocktails and went off to the bar while we perused the menu. The drinks/ cocktails were refreshing, well-made and they came quickly. It was time to order and Jack was quick to ask us what we wanted. He went around the table and made great suggestions and we were off and running. We ordered the large portion of the Anti-Pasto and the Rice Ball (it doesn't say "arancini" on the menu-look for "Rice Ball". We also ordered the Sicilian salad. They aren't pictured here bc we all dug in right away. The Sicilian salad was enough for everyone at the table to taste. It was a beautiful blend of roasted peppers, lettuce, pecans, and more. It was a memorably FRESH salad. Did I mention how FRESH it was? It was delicious and I could honestly eat that every day. On a side note, my mom typically gets the Summer Salad and she says it's even better but we left that for the next time. Now, let's talk the rice ball. Ground beef with some peas rolled in the center of a ball of risotto and then coated and fried "forgetaboutit". We wished we had ordered more. Everyone had one little bite to taste and it was amazing. The Anti-Pastor had the usual favorites: cheese, prosciutto, salami, olives, bruschetta, tapenade, home-made crostini, and LOTS and LOTS of olives. My suggestion for the restaurant, a little more crostini and a little less olives on the board. We had bruschetta and tapenade that we ended up eating by the spoonful because it was so delicious but it would have been better on the crostini. Next, the main courses. I am going to preface by stating that the menu warns you, "Prepare to share..". It says it right on the very top. Did we listen? No! Do we have leftovers for a couple of days? Yes. Everything was prepared fresh. You could tell that there was love in the sauces and the dishes. The Pollo Gabrielle is not on the menu but is online and they will make it for you if you ask for it. It's 3 pieces of perfectly fried chicken cutlets, with prosciutto, and mozzarella and a creamy vodka sauce with peas. THREE pieces of chicken!! A quick note that all dishes are a la carte so my hubby asked for spaghetti to be added and they bedded it underneath the chicken which was perfect. My mom got the Pollo Reggiano. Again, 3 pieces of chicken made to perfection with an amazing sauce on top. The Pistachio Pesto sauce was divine as were the Vodka and Bolognese sauces for the other dishes. FRESH. FRESH, FRESH!! This is the ONLY word for the food coming out of this kitchen. I would recommend 1 pasta dish and 1 protein dish for 2 people. It's more than enough. Jack, our waiter, was attentive, despite an extremely busy restaurant, checked in on us frequently, and even boxed our leftovers table-side. The kitchen was running slow and they forgot my mom's side of spaghetti. The food came out in rounds so that was my other critique. It's never fun to watch someone else wait for everyone else at the table to get their food before eating and it gets awkward when you tell them to eat and they are the only one's eating. Hence the 4 versus a five. The table next to us also cancelled two of their side dishes bc the kitchen was slow in getting them out and they had already eaten their main dishes. We didn't stay for desert bc we had desert waiting for us at home but we will be back to try. So, if you didn't want to read all of the above- here's the short version...great atmosphere, fresh food, fantastic service, prepare to wait during season and get there early during off season, order with sharing in mind. To the restaurant, keep doing what you're doing but maybe work on the kitchen expediting so all of the ordered items in the main course come out together for each table. We will definitely be back bc, to boot, the prices are incredible and extremely affordable. We paid $221 (before tip) for all of the food and cocktails for 5 AND had plenty of leftovers. I definitely recommend for a cool couples date night, a happy hour full time, or a family gathering. They've really figured out how to make a compatible atmosphere for all. read more

The wife and I had our date night there last night. It was incredible! We had the Sicilian Bruschetta and the Popeye pizza. The food was delicious. The service was top notch. The ambiance was that of a comfy restaurant although it was bustling. It was our first visit but is definitely just the first of many. We highly recommend this place. It is a bit more expensive than your run of the mill Italian restaurant, but if you appreciate food, it is more than worth the price point. They were decent accessibility for people with walkers, we had 2 of them. I ordered a steak and cheese sandwich , there was more bread than filling. It was not flavorful at all , I didn't enjoy it too much I didn't even finish it. We did have rice balls and calamari as an appetizer that we all enjoyed. Not sure I would go back here. Went there on a very cold day. They had both the garage door and main entry way door open. The place was freezing. When I asked the manager to close both doors he refused saying the owner likes it like that. Everyone but a few in the joint had coats on. I told the manager to tell the owner to come in and eat in the cold. Doesn't the customer's needs mean anything any more. To make matters worse our food came out in shifts. The time difference between the 1st and last person being served was 10 minutes. We couldn't wait for all to be served or the first person's meal would be cold. Never going there again. We were a small party of 18. The service was excellent the various dishes mostly pizza were delicious. Bottles of wine today (Wednesday) were 50% off. Best pizzas in town. I order the Blanco with caramelized onions and anchovy. I have had this with a gluten free option which blew me away it was so good and crispy. The mussels are the best I've had since i moved here a year ago bathed in a rich flavorful broth with delicious roasted garlic i dunk my pizza in the mussels broth. Absolutely stunning. We had the Hitman pizza which was spicy and delicious with hot peppers and I had shrimp with lemon sauce on pasta. The lemon sauce was perfection. The service was great. First time trying their pizza and we ordered the Joey D and Queen of Sicily pizzas. The Queen of Sicily was phenomenal -- had fresh tomatoes, balsamic drizzle and fried eggplant! My family is an avid supporter of Dangerous Minds pizza but I had to admit to them I may actually like Sicilian Oven's pizza better. Went today with my boss and coworkers and my two year-old daughter and the first thing I ask was for a high chair for my daughter and I had to ask three random people that worked there for the high chair. Everything else was great. The food was amazing and the drinks were amazing as well, but I really didn't like that,They didn't bring the highchair for my daughter right away. I have worked in restaurants before and the first thing I will always do when the customer came in with a baby/toddler was always bring the high chair before they asked me. The place was super clean and neat hopefully when I go again they won't do the same thing again it would be a shame. read more

We've been going to Sicilian Oven almost every week since moving to Florida in May. It's been our Go To Place. The food, service, and especially the pizza has been great until our last visit. During our last visit, we sat outside as we have always done, and as usual we ordered from the early bird menu only to be told, this time that unless we were seated at the bar or at a high table, we could not be served the early bird menu. We inquired from our server what has changed. Apparently the Manager (Hector) told our server that we could not be served the early bird specials. Instead of coming over and explaining that the specials being served outside were over at the end of summer, and accommodating us this one time since we were akready seated at a table, we were told it can't be done. Needless to say we were taken aback and surprised as was our lovely server. Hector never came over to explain or apologize. So much for customer service by the Manager. read more

All I have to say is they are always packed and they had to double the size of this location because of the demand. Now that's saying something. On this visit we were celebrating birthdays. It was a group of six of us. We ordered some apps and pizzas. The meatballs, sicilian salad and the calamari were great. I really enjoyed the bianco pizza too. The food is consistently fantastic. I was very impressed with Sicilian Oven- I'm very picky about my pizza & I just couldn't get enough! Came here with hubby & my mom for lunch. Several people in my ladies lunch group raved about this place. I went there with setting up a future group lunch in mind. Well- let me tell you- our server was very patient with my elderly mom. My mom has dental issues & asked about the lunch salad. I was so happy that my mom enjoyed her salad- for a lunch salad - it was large with lots of tomatoes, garbanzo beans, onions, romaine & celery- frankly- the salad is a meal In itself! I tried the prosciutto lunch pizza with olives- so good . Hubby had the pepperoni & meatball pizza & my mom had the rigatoni with bolognese sauce. She loved it & was so full from the salad- took the rest home for dinner. As for me- their wood fire pizza is one of the best I've had since moving here from Long Island, NY. Last comment- the quality Sicilian Oven serves is top of the line for pizza. I'll come back with my ladies group soon - with pics!!! Lack of decent non-alcoholic beverages keep me from coming back more often. I really enjoy their pizza but I also enjoy a nice Un-sweet tea or Lemonade to go with it. Unfortunately they only carry the Coca-cola products like Gold peak tea and fountain lemonade by Coke. These are the bottom of the barrel products that I don't even think McDonald's would sell. I understand many customers have complained about this but the owner's don't care (Told by several wait staff). Time for some fresh brewed iced tea or a good one like Joeffrey's tea (PDQ). Then maybe I'll visit more often. They try to generate an upscale pizza experience but their drink products don't support that. read more

We came in for lunch and it was wonderful. We got seated right away since it wasn't packed with the night crowd. It not only was faster seating but cooler inside too. They have a lunchtime menu and we got the small Mona Lisa pizza and the pasta with shrimp (which came with a great salad)! Everything was delicious and our server Sophia was great and attentive. Love the food! Hate the takeout crew sense of entitlement! The food is great but take out customer service is very dry, no manners, no smiles, no " welcome to Sicilian Oven, my name is..... can I take your order?" Or something of the like. Just, "what do you want"? from a young something that thinks she is doing me " a favor" to take my order. The take out was $40 family salad and (2) orders of meatballs, and I left $5 as tip( for a take out order where I could read the her body language of disdain ), I think it was more than enough. P.S: After waiting 30 mins for my order to be ready, I got a a txt to go inside and pick it up. The order was wrong: I ordered two orders of meatballs and a family salad! She understood two meatballs and a family salad! She did even have the skills to the order back to me to confirm that it was right! I walked backed in paid for another meatballs order, and had to wait another 20 minutes ( even though we all know those meatballs are made in advance earlier in the day, before the restaurant opens!). I understand it has been hard for restaurant owners to find great help these days; very few young teens want to really work nowadays! what they really want is to get paid to be at work. I am not blaming the restaurant itself, Sicilian oven itself has a great menu, and the dining room servers have always been very professional and polite! But, the takeout crew, needs some education on how to greet their customers! After all, smiles are free and they go a long way to make customers feel welcome! read more

A late Sunday evening after a lovely day at the pool. We were thinking about something light but satisfying. Hubby was in the mood for the Sicilian oven cervelatta which is a thin Italian sausage, he wanted it with spaghetti and garlic and oil. I chose to have a white pizza. Sicilian Oven is one of the best Italian restaurants in town! They feature delicious salads with scrumptious dressing. Their main course items are wonderful. They have outside seating that is very comfortable as well as nice inside service.Sicilian Oven is in a strip mall with a few other great restaurants. The pizza is tremendous! The staff is friendly and efficient. I've been there a few times and was never disappointed. I recommend them highly. My wife's cousin is handicapped and is very comfortable at the outdoor patio.
