One of my favorite Italian restaurants in the area by far. I've been coming here for so many years because the food, service & portion sizes are great. Some of my favorite dishes are the chicken parm, stuffed shells & you can't go wrong with their pizza. I really love their marinara because it's not too sweet at all & it's incredibly flavorful. I think no matter what you put it on will be delicious. They have fantastic calamari & I love the pasta e fagioli. It doesn't seem like they've changed their ingredients much over the years which is super important to consistent, quality food. The tiramisu is also next level. It's massive & seems like each bite is better than the last. The dining area isn't huge but there's plenty of space to accommodate any party size. The servers are always efficient & friendly no matter what time of day. I've eaten here for over 10 years & I don't think there's a single time I had bad service. Of course there will be some hiccups every now & again after so many years but any time that's happened it's been corrected immediately with no issues. Everyone from the front of house to management is always friendly. If you consider yourself a fan of Italian food but have never tried Mazzola's then you're doing it wrong. It's well worth taking a trip over to try them out. They also offer good lunch specials so you can get a great bang for your buck. Do your taste buds a favor & stop by next time you want some amazing Italian.

This place is hidden in a professonal office space in Davie. Has been here for years. Family owned, warm, welcoming, home tasting food served by pleasant, attentive wait staff. I should tell you my judgement call is reached as an American Italian who is a practiced home cook. The 2 standards I look for are red sauce and linguine ala vongole, (white clam sauce). Had an appetizer order of mussels marinara with that wonderful red sauce. My mother would approve. That is high praise. The pillowy soft, garlic rolls are the perfect side to soak up that sauce! My friend had her favorite eggplant rollatine served with a side of angel hair with that winner red sauce! Not too sweet, not too acidy. So now, I promised to be true to my reviews. I ordered the white clam sauce. Before I placed my order, I asked for a description of how it's made. (Remember, I'm very fussy about this! Maybe others wouldn't be.) Pasta cooked perfectly, but what I failed to ask was are the clams all fresh? As someone who has made this dish forever, I knew they were not. I asked the wait staff who said no, the ones around the rim of the dish are fresh but not the rest. They are canned. Wait staff suggested order White zuppa de clams and get all fresh clams! Thank you and done!! Next time I would order that with a side of linguine with garlic and oil. Problem solved for me! Please, come and try!

Check out my food blog: https://open.substack.com/pub/michimcniff/p/neighborhood-eats-mazzolas-west?utm_campaign=post-expanded-share&utm_medium=web Mazzola's West is a hidden gem tucked along Orange Drive in Davie. This Italian restaurant has built a strong local reputation on delicious food, generous portions, and reasonable prices. Family-owned and operated for 30 years, it's the kind of place--originally founded in Pembroke Pines--that becomes part of the dining out rotation, whether for a casual weekday dinner or a relaxed weekend meal. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, and the entire Mazzola family works there. The scent of garlic, simmering sauces, and baked pizza dough sets the tone immediately--like walking into my Nonna's kitchen. If only I could go back in time and cook with my Nonna and my Abuela: dueling chef grandmas who insisted you eat everything on your plate. In Nonna's kitchen Faccio la scarpetta!--you were told to use a small piece of bread ("the little shoe") to wipe up every last drop of sauce. Beyond pizza and calzones (and yes, they have excellent subs!), Mazzola's serves classic Italian dishes made from recipes handed down through generations--the family patriarch hails from Sicily. Chicken Francese is a popular signature, and you can't go wrong with the chicken or eggplant parmigiana. The pasta sides please both kids and adults alike--who doesn't want a comforting bowl of spaghetti or linguini? Life is a combination of magic and pasta, as we Italians say. And then there are the garlic rolls! I have not had garlic rolls like these since my teenage years, dining at Mario the Baker in North Miami. They arrive before the meal--soft, crisp, warm, drenched in oil and flavor. Mamma Mia! Tiramisu brings the meal to a satisfying, familiar close. (sorry, no photo-I got carried away in this gastronomical festa) What truly elevates the experience is the service. Even on busy nights--when large families and youth sports teams flood the dining room--the staff remains attentive and friendly. There's a genuine sense that patrons matter here. To be a successful neighborhood restaurant, you don't need viral hype. Influencers are fair-weathered fans. What you need are loyal regulars who keep coming back. Mazzola's is one of those places: reliable, welcoming, and deeply rooted in its community--serving patrons like family. Now that's amore! What Stands Out Family-friendly atmosphere and generous portions Supporting a "Mom and Pop" restaurant Lunch specials (dine-in or takeout) Chicken Francese, a crowd-pleaser (the shrimp Francese pictured here deserves a mention, too!) Friendly, consistent service (Mariana is a carola--a dear!) Convenient parking with easy in-and-out local access A Few Trade-Offs The menu sticks closely to traditional Italian family-style favorites--authentic and comforting, though with little seasonal variation Some may find it difficult to locate via Google Maps or GPS (talk about a detour--we looped around a few times, but the owners were glad we didn't give up! Best For Families, catching up with friends (they don't rush you), casual weeknight or weekend dinners, and anyone craving classic Italian comfort food without the drama. If you've ever been to Carmine's in New York, you know exactly what I mean--NY accent and all. The Detour Verdict: Worth the Stop Mazzola's Italian Restaurant earns its place in the neighborhood dining rotation. It's about comfort, reliability, and feeling at home at the table. If you're looking for a local Italian spot that delivers solid food, generous portions, and genuine hospitality, this is a stop worth making.

Every time I come into town, I go to Mazzolas. I crave their food and especially their garlic rolls. Not tonight. I ordered their veal siciliana and I could only eat the eggplant. The veal tasted horrible. It tasted as if the bread crumbs used were stale. I scraped the breading off in hopes of being able to eat it, but the taste permeated into the meat. So very disappointed. Had to throw it out. $25.60 in the garbage.

If you have time to stall.. this place would be it. We ordered at 12:30 and didn't get our food until 35 mins later. We ordered the lunch special lasagna and it wasn't that great.. it was lacking a lot of flavor. We also ordered th grilled chicken Philly cheesesteak and it was not as tasty as it sounds. The texture was difficult to eat. Each meal was $8+ and it is affordable but not worth the wait. However, the garlic rolls were delish. I probably won't be back because I felt that it took too long for the any type of service, I didn't get asked for a refill on water until I got the bill to pay. The ambiance is nice, very friendly and definitely a family owned place. I liked how open the space was. The bathroom was very clean so that's a plus.

My husband grew up going to Mazzola's on Taft Street and was disappointed when they closed. We only recently discovered that they had opened a new location off of Griffin Road years ago! We went for dinner a week ago and it was fantastic! It's a small, homey restaurant that serves up some amazing Italian-American food. They have some of the best Eggplant Parmesan I've ever had and the pizza is also exceptional. Check them out!

Well lo and behold I can only say lovely things about the place since they make everything fresh you can see them cooking the food there and you sit and converse and relax.... They have a build your own pasta dis option and they have the regular options and the ratio to person food is a lot... The garlic rolls were insane... honestly some of the best I've ever had. We shared a house salad, and it was huge--definitely big enough to split. Everything tasted super fresh, and the balsamic dressing was perfectly drizzled and flavorful without being overpowering. For my entrée, I ordered the chicken parmesan with angel hair pasta. I'm pretty picky about marinara sauce (and I'm Italian, so I hold places to a higher standard), but everything was completely on point. The flavors, the sauce, the portion--just really well done. What made the experience even better was the owner coming over to talk to us. She shared details about the food and the restaurant, which made it feel really personal and welcoming. They also host special wine tastings at the end of the month with a curated menu, which I definitely want to come back for. We didn't try the pizza this time, but I already know I'll be back. They offer thin crust and even a deep dish that you can order ahead (about an hour in advance), which sounds amazing. It's a smaller place, but it's cozy, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the service was excellent. I'll definitely be back--and next time I'm saving room for dessert (if I can stop myself from eating all the garlic rolls again).

Large bay doors stay open, creating an inviting open-air atmosphere with plenty of fresh air and a relaxed vibe. Inside, every table has a view of the traditional wood-burning brick oven, along with multiple flat screens and music playing throughout the restaurant. One detail that stood out immediately was the visible service dog sign near the hostess stand. I was seated right away, and they even brought out a water bowl for my service dog without needing to ask. The server was knowledgeable about the menu, offered helpful recommendations, and confirmed they provide a 20% discount for military members and first responders on select meals, which is always appreciated. I shared a large Mona Lisa pizza topped with fresh basil, prosciutto, and thick slices of tomato. The thin crust came out perfectly crisp with just the right amount of char from the brick oven. There is indoor and outdoor dining, and on this cool day the doors were left wide open for the fresh air to come in. Six of us shared the food. We had four appetizers, two large pizzas, an entree, two desserts, four glasses of wine, and two bottles of beer. For the appetizer we had really good fried calamari with a spicy sauce, scrumptious wood-fired wings, and two orders of the stuffed rice ball. Although I wasn't a fan of the sauce that came with the stuffed rice balls, (I am not a fan of sausages) it was crunchy and tasty. For the main entrees. We shared two large pizzas: the Brooklyn and the Joey D. I had the pollo mateau: breaded chicken cutlets with prosciutto, a sprinkle of cheese, caramelized onions, and mushrooms with a marsala sauce. The pizzas were both good. (I still don't like it when my crust gets charred, and some of parts of our crusts were black.) Nevertheless, the pizza afficionados at the table were pleased with their fare. The chicken dish needed something to help soak up the sauce. I was not told that the entrees weren't accompanied by a side of pasta and didn't bother ordering any when I realized the meal needed it. I took home the leftovers. Even though we were all stuffed, we got two desserts to share. We had a tiramisu; it was decent. And we devoured our one order (with 10 pieces) of zeppoles, which came with a delicious cream sauce. Deena was our main server with a strong assist from a man whose name I never got. They provided fast, friendly, excellent service.

I ordered a side of Brussel sprouts that were cooked to perfection. We were both so happy with our choices. My mom and I enjoyed a chocolate martini as well. The ambiance is definitely a date night vibe, especially if you sit towards the back. The front is more of a sophisticated bar vibe. The service can be improved as it took a really long time for things to come out for our game but not the other table and the server seemed awkward with a few things. With practice they'll get better. It won't deter me from going back again as the food was excellent! Kudos to the chef! Parking lot in the front with free parking.
