We had the pleasure of trying Mazola's for the first time today. What a delightful experience. It's a family owned and ran restaurant. Very cozy ambience a little warm in temperature ( but maybe it's my hormones ) lol. We had the stuffed shells, a cheese, pizza, garlic rolls, and a tiramisu. The pizza was absolutely delicious. The crust was perfected, it was cheesy, the amount of sauce was great. The sauce taste was not sour did not overpower the pizza. The stuffed shells were a generous portion with great flavor. The tiramisu was a very generous portion , soft and fluffy. And delishhh! The staff was friendly and attentive. And it didn't break the bank. From my 10 year olds perspective: It was really good. My favorite was the pizza. The pizza was very cheesy and when I bit into it, the cheese just fell off them. I love it! read more

Why has it been this long and no review? Who knows. But here we go! I have been visiting this place for over 10 years and this is THE mom and pop, whole in the wall place for all your Italian needs. Owned by the Mazzolas, this is the place where you will ALWAYS see the owners there and involved in the best way possible. Their customer service is unmatched. When you walk in they have the best home feeling. The staff is always friendly and their prices are amazing for the amount of food that you get. To eat I had the following: Chicken Alfredo. Never have I ever tried an Alfredo sauce that is so rich and creamy. And best thing is if you take it home and heat it up the next day the sauce doesn't break. One of my favorite Italian restaurants in the area by far. I've been coming here for so many years because the food, service & portion sizes are great. Some of my favorite dishes are the chicken parm, stuffed shells & you can't go wrong with their pizza. I really love their marinara because it's not too sweet at all & it's incredibly flavorful. I think no matter what you put it on will be delicious. They have fantastic calamari & I love the pasta e fagioli. It doesn't seem like they've changed their ingredients much over the years which is super important to consistent, quality food. The tiramisu is also next level. It's massive & seems like each bite is better than the last. The dining area isn't huge but there's plenty of space to accommodate any party size. The servers are always efficient & friendly no matter what time of day. I've eaten here for over 10 years & I don't think there's a single time I had bad service. Of course there will be some hiccups every now & again after so many years but any time that's happened it's been corrected immediately with no issues. Everyone from the front of house to management is always friendly. If you consider yourself a fan of Italian food but have never tried Mazzola's then you're doing it wrong. It's well worth taking a trip over to try them out. They also offer good lunch specials so you can get a great bang for your buck. This place is hidden in a professonal office space in Davie. Has been here for years. Family owned, warm, welcoming, home tasting food served by pleasant, attentive wait staff. I should tell you my judgement call is reached as an American Italian who is a practiced home cook. The 2 standards I look for are red sauce and linguine ala vongole, (white clam sauce). Had an appetizer order of mussels marinara with that wonderful red sauce. My mother would approve. That is high praise. The pillowy soft, garlic rolls are the perfect side to soak up that sauce! My friend had her favorite eggplant rollatine served with a side of angel hair with that winner red sauce! Not too sweet, not too acidy. So now, I promised to be true to my reviews. I ordered the white clam sauce. Before I placed my order, I asked for a description of how it's made. (Remember, I'm very fussy about this! Maybe others wouldn't be.) Pasta cooked perfectly, but what I failed to ask was are the clams all fresh? As someone who has made this dish forever, I knew they were not. I asked the wait staff who said no, the ones around the rim of the dish are fresh but not the rest. They are canned. Wait staff suggested order White zuppa de clams and get all fresh clams! Every time I come into town, I go to Mazzolas. I crave their food and especially their garlic rolls. Not tonight. I ordered their veal siciliana and I could only eat the eggplant. The veal tasted horrible. It tasted as if the bread crumbs used were stale. I scraped the breading off in hopes of being able to eat it, but the taste permeated into the meat. So very disappointed. If you have time to stall.. this place would be it. We ordered at 12:30 and didn't get our food until 35 mins later. We ordered the lunch special lasagna and it wasn't that great.. it was lacking a lot of flavor. We also ordered th grilled chicken Philly cheesesteak and it was not as tasty as it sounds. The texture was difficult to eat. Each meal was $8+ and it is affordable but not worth the wait. However, the garlic rolls were delish. I probably won't be back because I felt that it took too long for the any type of service, I didn't get asked for a refill on water until I got the bill to pay. The ambiance is nice, very friendly and definitely a family owned place. I liked how open the space was. The bathroom was very clean so that's a plus. read more

This is a great little neighborhood restaurant serving up delicious Italian food. Stopped in for lunch today and the place was packed! They have great lunch specials, everything is under ten dollars and their specials come with two of their delicious garlic, or if you prefer plain rolls. They have some of the best garlic rolls I ever eaten. I love their chicken francaise, it's honestly one of the best I've had in any Italian restaurants and is usually my go to dish when I'm here. The lemon in the sauce is never overpowering like it can be in some other restaurants. It came with a small side of pasta with the same delicious francaise sauce on it. For dessert my friend and I split a tiramisu which was also delicious. Lunch is a great way to try their food because of the value, I did notice that their dinner prices have gone up considerably over the years. Our server was great, he kept our drink glasses full and checked in us to make sure we were happy with our meals. The service is usually good here but other times it's been so-so. I highly recommended for some great quality and great tasting Italian food! read more

My husband grew up going to Mazzola's on Taft Street and was disappointed when they closed. We only recently discovered that they had opened a new location off of Griffin Road years ago! We went for dinner a week ago and it was fantastic! It's a small, homey restaurant that serves up some amazing Italian-American food. I don't understand why this place is so popular. Perhaps people don't really know what authentic Italian food tastes like. The eggplant in the eggplant Parmesan was not properly drained and turned out very mushy, falling apart with every bite. The sausage didn't taste like sausage at all; it was more like a flattened, sad meatball. I do have to say that the mozzarella hunk (not the sticks) was absolutely amazing. Food here is always great! The menu covers a wide variety of Italian American dishes and they are all served large portion sizes and a great value for the money! Linguini with clams is delicious with tons of minced clams and the perfect red sauce. Their calamari is also very tender and delicious, both in salads and sautéed with pasta. The entrees all include garlic rolls, which are soft and full of garlic deliciousness. We come here at least once a month for lunch and dinner and the food is consistently excellent. read more

Mazzola's is an amazing local Italian restaurant were you feel right at home. The establishment is very small but the servings are huge! I've dined here at least 3 times and have catered from here once and they have yet to fail me. I had the Mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and the lasagna for my entry while my girlfriend had the baked ziti. All 3 and the garlic bread were absolutely amazing. I just wish I could finish my plate in one go but like always I get to take some home with me. read more

We've been going to this restaurant for at least 24 years...since they were on Taft street about 22 years ago. It's still owned and operated by the same family but even pre Covid, we began crossing off things on the menu that had become sub par. The menu says "Joe's home made meatballs", but a while ago they apparently became some generic store bought product. Mozzarella Sticks are better at my kid's school. They changed where they buy the garlic rolls from and they're not good anymore. The list goes on. It's sad to watch what was really good just decline and standards lowered. The owners apathetic attitude was the final straw. We went tonight for the last time. read more

Mazzola's West is a terrific local Italian restaurant and pizzeria. Tucked away in a corporate park located on Griffin and Flamingo (North West Corner). Personally, we think they have the BEST Lasagna in town. They have a perfect red sauce (not bitter, not sweet). Meals come with 3 garlic rolls. They also have delicious meat balls. Kids meals are a deal and include spaghetti and meat balls, baked ziti, chicken parmigian and chicken fingers. They also give the kids oreo cookies for dessert. They have pizzas and typical Italian dishes. They do a lot of take out business as well. The interior is cheerful with pictures of their children as babies (adorable) with pots and pans. I have been coming here for years but I started to come less and less because they really raised their prices and the portions aren't justifiable in my opinion. I did recently come again to give it a shot and the food is still good but the prices are still hard to justify in my opinion. I decided to get the chicken parmigiana which is a lightly breaded chicken cutlet baked with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. It comes with a couple rolls, pasta and choice of soup or salad. The pasta was basic and you get a decent amount in a little bowl on the side. I got a salad and it was good but nothing to write home about. The chicken itself was nice but a little thin in my opinion. The breading was very well done and it came out super fast and hot so that was a plus in my book for sure. The sauce was very flavorful and all the ingredients in it blended very well together in my opinion. The cheese on top was also melted perfectly and had a nice little browning to it. The waiter was attentive and friendly and even gave me some of his recommendations but in the end I opted for the chicken as I mentioned before. It is a nice family place but nothing I would drop everything for and run to in the near future in my opinion. read more

I absolutely love coming here. Majority of the time it's takeout but I have gone here to dine in as well Pre-Covid. I've never had any issue here and I love the days that my family and I decide to grab food from here for dinner. One of the best things about this place is the portion sizes. The portions are massive! I always find myself hardly making a dent in my meal. It never goes to waste and I'm set for lunch and dinner the next day as well. My go to is usually the Chicken Parmigiana. Depending how hungry I'm feeling I will choose between the lunch or dinner portion. The chicken parm is extremely soft and flavorful. The sauce is what really makes it a hit. It gives you that nice home cooked meal feeling. The entrees also come with a side of your choice of a salad or soup. The house salad appears small but it's a nice little appetizer and fills you up a nice amount. If you go for the soup instead that's a great choice as well! Minestrone Soup or Pasta Fagioli are the choices they offer and honestly either one you decide you will definitely be delighted with! My family and I make sure to top our meals with their garlic rolls. They are PHENOMENAL. They're always just the right amount of crunch and soft and they never overdo it with their garlic. It's perfect. There's a few other things I've had from here when I've decided to stray away from my usual. I've had their meatball sub, it really hits the spot! The seasoning for the meatballs are great. I've had their mozzarella sticks and if I didn't feel so guilty eating so much when I order from here I'd get them more often! One of my favorite things they offer for their lunch special where you get 2 large! Slices of pizza and your choice of fountain drink for about $5. It's perfect for a quick lunch or heck, a quick pickup for dinner. It's a nice local restaurant with great food that people should make sure to check out. Typically I don't like to update my reviews when I am annoyed but it's been 2 years since my last review and I just can't leave up a 4 Star review when the last few times I have not been happy. The last few times service has been slow but tonight it was nonexistent. We arrived at a few minutes to 7 and didn't leave until 8:50pm. It wasn't because it took a long time to be seated. It wasn't because we just were shooting the breeze, it was because we were mostly ignored and it took over an hour to get our food (with 3 children at the table) and then another 20 to get our bill. It started when we ended up sitting at 2 tables. Our waiter allowed my 8 yr old to order a $13 appetizer without checking with us first. The only good thing was they ended up (begrudgingly) finally putting 2 tables together. Our waiter was more interested in the family or friends that were sitting at a table that was behind us. Each time he left the table he walked past us without any concern that one of our friends and the kids had left the table to go sit in the car and watch a movie. When I asked for the check and mentioned that we had been there almost 2 hours he said they were busy and smirked at the table behind us. While I am confident that they will not care since most people who dine there are regulars and family. We will definitely not be back. read more

It seems like the last few times we've had dinner here the service has steadily gone down hill. Tonight was some of the worst service I've ever had. We agreed to sit at two separate tables so we would not have to wait as long, the adults at one and the kids at the other. It didn't work very well. First the kids were so misbehaved, second the server never checked with the adults to see if what the kids ordered was appropriate. Our daughter ordered a $13 appetizer! We were there for almost two hours. It took almost an hour for our meals to arrive. Our server walked by us multiple times. Once our food was delivered (and we had to ask for our food) he never checked back to see how we were doing. He ignored us when we wanted the check and ignored us again when the check was ready to be picked up. When my wife mentioned that we had been there almost 2 hours he said they were busy and then smirked. Unfortunately we probably will NOT be back. There are so many other Italian restaurants in the area to choose from. read more
