Date of Visit: 04/25/2026 It was a beautiful and needed to take Fritz out, I checked Google maps and found a cool craft beer place and saw they serve burgers. So off I went. Found it on MLK just past 30th...went inside and notice they don't have a kitchen but food trucks that serve...not what I wanted but had a beer any way. But where I was going with this is just across the street is this place and glad I did. It's my kinda neighborhood bar. The girl was quick to notice my presents and drink orders taken. I was wanting a burger so looked the menu over and the "Double Ralphy" LTO w/bacon...and upgrade to fries. As I waited for my burger I took in the place. I didn't go all the way in but there was a place to hide and relax, cool. Burger arrived and it looked great. I did say bacon earlier but I didn't notice it came with till now. I asked for medium and medium I got. And the LTO was fresh as well. The only thing if any, the fries could have been done just bit more. And these are the fries I prefer too. I found out about this place through a Facebook 'Wings of Tampa Bay' group, and so thankful I did! That blackened garlic sauce is unmatched! Wow. I think next time I'll ask for it to mixed with just a little buffalo... ugh, my mouth is watering thinking of it! The place is totally unassuming, which usually means either the friendliest service or the best food (or sometimes both!), which I think would be the case for Sunset Grille. Ok, this is a great little dive bar with some really good food. Came here to specifically for the wings, and they did not disappoint. Huge, seasoned well, cooked perfectly (crispy outside and still juicy). Definitely worth it for great wings. Nice seating outside and a couple of bar tables inside. read more

I had been driving past Sunset Grille for years, but finally decided to go in after seeing positive reviews for their Wings. The place gives the feeling of a neighborhood "dive bar," with lots of local feel. My son and I went in after church Sunday morning. We got 20 wings, half blackened Garlic, half Medium hot, and Parmesan cheese over all. We asked for well done (to be crunchier). Our server was friendly and helpful, making good suggestions. The wings were excellent, cooked just how we like them, well sauced. They were a good size and reasonably priced. Some of the better wings I've had in recent years. This used to be our place for several years but they have had some turnover and the staff that is there rather play on their phones and to look up to see if you need a refill or place an order. Sad but not going back. Yesterday was the worse. Bartender looked at my empty glass and kept walking. I was on my first beer and asked her for a second. The guy next to me also needed a beer but she was more concerned about texting on her phone. Almost end of the year 2025 and for 2026 I am only going to places where they appreciate me and my money. Attitude they banned my best friend who loved going there. because the owner's daughter hated her she always talked the place up even though the place has gone down hill food not that good anymore but still went .Had several parties there no appitiation for loyalty. The dive bars of St. Pete continue to astound. I am still in shock and awe. A Russian girl that I was sitting next to stole the show. She was selling a book called Zig Zag. This is a vintage St. Pete spot from the pre hipster era. Find a roomy outdoor area in the rear, with ample seating as well as bar seats. There is also a small indoor area located in front right off MLK. Live music on weekends is a nice touch. Service is good. The kitchen is open to the air. My blackened mahi mahi bites app was juicy and tasty, paired with tartar sauce. Drinks are heavy pours I had a few house cabs and they were nicely filled. I think their wings are notable, and there are a lot of various burgers on the menu. Plenty of parking makes getting in and out very easy. This is a nice and relaxing locals spot. read more

My wife and I have always ate here. We came here and noticed a new brewery so we went across the street to have a beer before we ate at sunset grille. When we came back 15 minutes later our car was towed. Apparently both places are fighting with each other and having customers cars towed. I know sunset grille is getting a kickback from American tow force. This is disgraceful., I would have spent more money at sunset grille. But now I will never go here again. Hope it was worth it. Also the tow away signs are posted low and when a vehicle is parked in front of the sign, you can not see it. I will never spend another dime at this dump. read more

Ordered takeout on a Sunday evening. Order was ready in 20 mins and was nice and hot when I got home! We ordered 10 each of the blackened garlic and sweet heat wings. The garlic are to die for! The sweet heat flavor was good, but a little too much sauce. Fair price and probably my favorite wings in town! A choice dive bar with a good local vibe. We came in with a crew and a local dude was super chill about changing his seat so we could all sit together. Mixed indoor and outback seating. The black garlic wings are delicious, the special K hot wings will make you sweat and they have a good deal going of 20 wings and 5 domestics for $30. We were thoroughly surprised by this restaurant. Because it was across from our hotel, we ate lunch there. It was so good we went back for lunch and dinner the next day. Lobster Mac and cheese was great but a little slimy on lobster but for $29 I understand they had to limit. New England clam chowder was also good and had lots of clams. read more

Really fun local place! Awesome outside seated area with trees and shade. Tuesdays are the best day to come! Dollar tacos and two dollar margaritas and the margs were super good! The food has really gone downhill. Our server wore a sleeveless skin-tight, super short one piece "thing." (think guys high school wresting outfit) We watched her walk all around the restaurant pulling it out of her crotch, her butt, and under her arms. I had patronized this restaurant since moving nearby in 2001. It is a true neighborhood bar and grill with many friendly cooks ..bartenders and other staff but for one incredibly hostile, rude and incompetent daytime worker that works alone most weekdays named Jackie. You can go to literally any other local restaurant or bar locally such as stone soup..flamingo..casual clam .our bar and a list of others and share in other's horror stories about their experiences. The entire staff at Sunset is constantly dealing with complaints about her but are helpless as she is a close friend of the current owner who sees no wrong in her customer abuse and supports her no matter how outrageous her behavior. Evenings and weekends are busy but daytime is increasingly a ghost town from the horrific treatment customers receive. Hen she sees you.. don't expect a normal hello or friendly greeting..you won't get one. Jackie's greetings exaggerated eye rolls and sighs when she sees you to hearing her loudly proclaim "I'm in no mood to deal with her today" and other hostile comments..she does not even try to hide her hostility. I am confounded why someone who dislikes humanity would choose a career intended to service customers but even more that management chooses consistently to ignore her behavior. On what led to my last visit, I literally waited 45 minutes at the bar while she waited on everyone else..refilled everyone else's drinks..ignored my calling her name 3 times but responded immediately when other patrons who could not understand her behavior asked her to help me. The anger she displayed was shocking yet instead of assisting, she walked away..got a tampon shoved it in my face stating "I've got something more important to deal with" and abruptly walked away. You can't get that treatment anywhere else! I first had to get over the shock that she was not post menopause. Trust me this is not an isolated incident. Despite intentionally waiting for 4pm shift change to avoid her outrageous hostility..Jackie would invent a reason to get confrontational every time no matter who else was serving you..again necessitating her co-workers to apologize for her actions yet again...a vicious cycle. Although Sunset is "Pet friendly", Jackie is not! I guarantee if you dare to bring your dog while she is working..neither you or your pet will have a great time. My otherwise happy dogs beloved by the remaining staff there and so many other dog friendly locations were upset whenever she approached because of the hostile confrontational tone she chose to confront me with. Visit any other nearby bar or restaurant and ask if they have ever been to Sunset during daytime hours...the Jackie horror experiences will be shared from all directions. With Halloween so close, I encourage everyone to share their Jackie horror stories. Bring her a tampon...maybe you can get on her good side ..assuming there is one? Perpetual menstruation does not excuse her behavior..but there is no other explanation I have to treat others so horribly. I'm sure there are still work from home opportunities or assembly positions where she need never interact with other humans...or dogs ..they certainly deserve better. read more

I've been going to this spot for the last 6-7 months. I get the same thing every time!!!! Price is around 30-33$ depending soda or a water. Tonight, got pick up, sent me inside bar. Saw the screen 35.45 for 10 minutes as a waited. She rings me up 45.45$ bartender added 10 dollars. Saw her print the original ticket and my new ticket, that's a shame of a business.. won't come back! Also- why ask if you want crispy wings if they come out extremely gummy like? We parked in the empty lot next to the restaurant and went next door to Golden Isle Brewery for their grand opening. Sunset Grill had someone waiting in the parking lot to call and have our car towed. He didn't ask us to move our car. Later as he gloated he said were there for 20 minutes. They are having a fight with Golden Isle, so they are both having each other's customer's cars towed. Disgraceful. read more

100% Florida dive. The difference from a regular dive is that it is a open air structure. I do believe there is indoor seating but it is small and the kitchen is part of the open concept sitting right behind the bar. If you want old Florida dive experience, then this place is for you. Due to my lack of never knowing what I want to eat. I would say searching for this place was diamond in rough...The waitress was super nice. If you are looking for a laid back hole in wall this is it. The food everything was delicious. The bacon on my BLT was like thick pieces of bacon. The Nachos supreme were so big my daughter was happy to share something she normally doesn't do.
