My girlfriend has "no words." Here are mine. It is difficult to say if the restaurant actually has a full-time staff. The people who purportedly work there appear only occasionally. After waiting 20 minutes for a mimosa and Bloody Mary, our server told us that the bartender was taking a "bunch of phone calls" and we would have to wait a few more minutes. We saw a man wait for nearly ten minutes at the host-stand. He was never greeted, and eventually asked a passing employee if he was supposed to seat himself. She replied, "uh. No. Hang on." And then walked away for several minutes. Eventually, we received our food before our drinks. It was bland and cold. As other honest reviewers have noted, the staff is aloof and quite unclean-looking. This is one of the worst dining experiences I have had in 2019, and I am perplexed by its relatively high reviews. Best place to meet up in downtown Leesburg in my opinion. Great food and unique, but not weird options. Best happy hour prices and variety in town with $5 apps. - The only heads up I'd give is if you're bringing young children be clear with the server as to what you need and when. A lot of young servers who are great but a little less aware of parents' needs for quick checks and a little more attention. Kid friendly, but just communicate clearly. Their food is so great and their online ordering and delivery is so easy and convenient! I love getting their salads (definitely add the chicken - it's so good) and their cauliflower app is incredible. Check on their soup of the day too! Appreciate what they are trying to do but they need to focus on the details, bartender not very friendly, service was slow and overall staff were more focused on personal conversations. I've been coming here on and off since it opened. When it had just been me and one other person the service has been great. Whenever I have gone with a group the service has been awful. The servers just seem like stoners just walking around acting clueless and never say sorry or try to make up for the wait or the fact that we got our entrees and never the apps we ordered 45 minutes prior. The food and drinks are good I've never been disappointed in my meal or the drinks! When our group complained to the manager John he gave us the apps for free and was really nice. We were seated at another "house" that was behind the original. That's fine. The things that turned me off was our waitress was pretty rude. This is a great place! Hands down the food here is always on the money. On the right day the Bloody Marys are fantastic. Have been for breakfast and lunch several times and its been consistently good every time. The staff are excellent, all of them. The original main dining area is cozy and they have seating outside as well as an additional, but smallish building on the property. We stopped by here for happy hour on a Saturday... I can't speak more highly of the service we received. We ordered the Common Law cocktails, which was delicious - a very unique combination of grapefruit, basil leaf, lemon, and simple syrup. We also enjoyed many of the appetizers, including the sweet potato fries topped with brie cheese. Why is the training so off? I was a waitress in high school and college and can't imagine ignoring my tables like this. Was served a warm bottle of sparkling rosè tonight with 5 guests at my table.... the bill was $150+ - and I hate not to tip appropriately but how can I tip $30 on a server I never saw?? We had a wonderful dinner outside last night. The atmosphere was excellent and service was good. The food was to die for....deviled eggs and shrimp. I had the hamburger....outstanding! The staff is nice, the coffee good, but a business practice where the payment system is set to default to a 22% tip is a disgusting business practice. If you want employees to get better pay, raise prices, but don't adjust your point of sale system to slip in a padded bill. read more

I went in today for drinks for happy hour. The hostess was nowhere to be found so we thought it was a seat yourself bar. We sat ourselves outside and got harassed by some intoxicated customers so we moved close to the back door, where all the employees hung out and exchanged dirty looks at us the entire time. After thirty minutes of feeling very uncomfortable, we moved inside. We sat for another ten minutes COMPLETELY IGNORED by the servers until we called one and asked her to serve us. She was extremely rude and BLAMED US for not waiting for the hostess (we waited for five minutes). The waiters were all very young and very snobby and I would not recommend this place to anyone. I was taken to Side Bar for lunch by a relative to celebrate my birthday. My first visit and I was disappointed. The interior décor is awesome. I have seen this very retail space go from art gallery to restaurant to bar. Strongly suggest though stools and table that are stable. Service from the two on staff was sloppy. I originally wasn't going to post, and I personally find this app to be atrocious in its ability to give under qualified people access to give their opinion, but lets get to it. I personally had a very fine time with my daughter and her fiance on the weekend that we went. Starting with the food, I found my risotto to be very delicious as well as the deviled eggs I shared with my daughter and her fiance as an appetizer. Only issue was there wasn't enough! Moving on to the drinks I thought they were also very adequate and the legal/court names were a nice addition. I thought the ambience was apt and found that the blankets given to us outside were a very nice touch and something that will be a great delight once it warms up just a bit more. My only complaint was that service was a little slow but they seem to be rapidly improving as this is a new establishment working out the kinks. What I did find to be DISGUSTING however was one disparaging review that encouraged me to post my own. Scrolling through my wife's app I found an evil account written by a BOB A. that in my opinion seemed more like a planned hit job from a spoiled brat than an honest review based on the merits of this establishment. As I said earlier I find Yelp to be gross in theory, giving petty jerks the power to say unwarranted abuses to hard working service individuals. I understand that some places just don't hit the mark but this review seemed to be more of an attack on people than a substantiated review. I can honestly say that the Sidebar was a great time and I think it will improve as it progresses. I'm happy to see that Leesburg is growing its bar and restraunt scene even despite disparaging reviews from people like BOB A. who are most likely blowing off steam. Made a reservation which the restaurant forgot. Then took a while to make a table for more people than our party had. If they would have bothered to ask how many there were rather than assuming maybe we could have sat down faster. The staff asked if we wanted to sit outside or inside and we asked if the outside was covered and they said yes. The cover was an umbrella and it was extremely hot with 2 small children was no fun. The service was terribly slow. It took the wait staff nearby 20 mins after requested to get more water. Only one round of drinks were brought that we paid for because no one ever asked if we wanted another round. The food was so so. Last time we went it was great, but this time I was very disappointed. We went for brunch but the menu reads on the cover, Brunch (Lunch Served 12-3) this was about 12:15-12:30 so I asked to see a lunch menu and was told they don't serve lunch until 3. Then change your menu!! I was embarrassed to have made a recommendation to the family to go here for Sunday brunch. Won't make that mistake again. read more

The BYO Tacos!!!! Every time I go there I get them and I'm never disappointed. To be honest it's bc of the lime crema sauce and guacamole they put on top. Sooooo good! I went there approximately three months ago. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves but the service and cocktails were subpar, food was excellent. We went last night on a Friday, despite how busy it was, the amazing service and execution was flawless. We mentioned what a difference it was from our previous experience to a gentleman who stopped by our table. He informed us that they went through new management and perfected their cocktail menu. My wife got a common law and I received a recommended version of a manhattan. Being from Manhattan, I'd have to say that was the best I've had outside of the city. Keep up the good work! I'll start by saying food and drinks are always incredible, however service greatly needs improvement. My husband and I stopped in for happy hour to have a few drinks and some bites. We received our first drink and small plate relatively quick but since then we have not gotten any other service. We were planning on having another round but due to the lack of attention we decided to pay and leave. It's not for lack of servers however just no one caring to pay attention to empty glasses at a table. After the decision to pay had been made by us it took another 15 mins to get the attention of someone to be able to pay. Please train servers on awareness of their surroundings even if it's not their section. read more
