We ordered the breadsticks, Tommy pizza with vegan mozzerella (no peccorino cheese), and the locally made vegan ice cream (chocolate or vanilla coconut ice cream). The food was perfect enough, but Christian treated us like friends and made our experience special. This lunch was the highlight of our first trip to Greenville. Yes. SIDEWALL IS the place in Greenville for pizza. The only place I like maybe better is Sidewall in TR. We always get one of the meat pizzas, AND THE MUSHROOM PIZZA! And the Wedge. May be better than many wedge salads I've had at top steakhouses that are proud of their wedge salads. Great folks as well. Hoping the one in Clemson re-opens since our daughter lives there. This is a great place to go grab pizza and a craft beer or two! We got the breadsticks as an appetizer, they are very large, so 4 was more than enough to share. For the pizzas, they allow you to split the pizza and do half and half as long as they have the same base sauce, which is awesome! I'm very frustrated with my favorite pizza place right now. We've had lovely experiences here. I ordered online and got a notification that the order "had not been accepted" and to call immediately. I did. And then again. And again. No pick up. I wasn't sure if they would process it because I couldn't get anyone on the phone. I went at the time slot i had picked and they didn't have my order. I waited for them to make it. I got everything, reminded them about the sides or ranch, they brought it. It was nice they rushed the order for me, but the peach salad didn't have the goat cheese medallions . This is literally why I order this salad. Everything was very good. I had the bread sticks and they were wonderful, so gooey and delicious. We shared a small smokey salad that was very flavorful and a good size for 2 people. I can't believe I've never reviewed Sidewall on here, because it's a frequent stop for us. It'll become even more frequent if the rumored location in Simpsonville becomes a reality. The pizza is expensive but well worth it; one of the specialty pies easily feeds two or three people. I highly recommend the Potato or the Protein, but you can't go wrong with any of them. I'm going with service here. I'm a family of 3. I come here about 4-5 times a year - used to be more but the reason it's reduced is what I'm posting about here. My husband travels a lot so sometimes I just go with my kid (~9yo). Whenever I go, where I'm sat is horrible (think about the table that is never sat) and the service is usually not great as well. I was in the hospitality industry for 10 years so I'm aware of why they're doing this but I felt like if my kid behaved and I tip really well maybe one day they won't do this. Today I go in with my kid bc my husband is parking the car so they just see me. I ask for table for three, they try to sit me at this table that's awful (and that I've been sat at multiple times before) and there's a lot of empty tables. I ask if I could sit somewhere else and I was told no, that they're rotating tables for servers and my option is the bar or a 2-top. I ask about this empty 4-top table next to the 2-top and I was told it was unavailable. We sat and immediately after we sat, the 4 top table was sat with 2 people. My husband came and joined us and we decide to leave without ordering bc I'm done. That was ridiculous and I'm fairly positive that it was bc she didn't see my husband when I checked in which is why the hostess did what she did. I shed a single tear when I read Dana's review comparing Sidewall Pizza to Little Caesars. That is just about the worst compliment I could ever imagine for a pizza place. Please ignore her comments, but also do not ever get this pizza to go. To enjoy its exceptional goodness you must be seated at one of their delightful locations. It is worth waiting in line for. If you think the line is too long, come back another time. This pizza is the real deal. We have been to the two Sidewall locations more than a dozen times total, and there is nowhere else in the upstate I would rather get pizza. In fact, I would much rather buy pizza only 10 times a year if it meant that I could have this instead of the other options. The salads are amazing (I can imagine the taste of the smoky salad right now in my mind), and so are the breadsticks and fresh tomato sauce. Plus, they make their own ice cream with new flavors weekly. Beer and wine selection is small but scrumptious. If you can honestly find a better pizza place in the upstate, God bless you. read more

We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip, which is divine, I also ordered the butternut and kale salad...I substituted the blue cheese for feta and it was soooooo delicious!!! Worth the wait on a Friday night! There is a good reason this place is busy. A good, tasty, cheesy reason. My table ordered two pizzas and we couldn't decide which was best! They had decent draft beer options which any pizza place should. Beer and pizza is a great combination. We love all the other locations. For a downtown neighborhood spot. This is by far the least glamorous. Let's start by the fact that they have three of the cheapest smallest fans on the side patio that I've ever seen. I routinely do 6 am hot yoga and I was sweating like a rat in a wool sock. This place needs to invest in some quality fans to move the stagnant air. Hot pizza, hot beer, hot air, this place needs a thorough breeze addition. We went to the TR one years ago when they first opened and it has been a while. I don't know why. It really is good. Went today because they do have an awesome deal, free pizza on your birthday (note not carryout must dine in). I like salads but usually never order them out but they have really good dinner salads, got the summer salad with marinated squash, lots of shredded pecorino (with other things) and it was nice and light and a perfect side to the mushroom pizza. They make their own ice creams which are always unique with the right amount of "stuff" in it. Waiter was very friendly and attentive. I will say the only drawback...it is a teensy bit pricey. I was excited to try Sidewall because I had heard good things but left pretty nonplussed. I ordered the apple salad, one of the specials of the day. It was a mix of chopped fresh apples, goat cheese, candied pecans, dried cranberries and a mix of spring greens. It was the best salad I've had in a while. Tart, a little sweet and perfectly crunchy. A really satisfying combo of colors, flavors and textures. I would definitely order this again. The pizza was disappointing though. We had a margherita pizza and one of the other specials, a decadent cheese pizza. Neither inspired us to have more than a slice and we didn't even take the leftovers with us. The crust on both was soggy in the middle and a little undercooked. Toppings were generous though - maybe a little too generous on the decadent cheese. With so many types of cheese, a smaller portion of each would have helped to make that one tastier, especially less burrata. The vibe at Sidewall is pretty relaxed - it's a great place to bring the kids and/or meet up with your loud friends for pizza night. Both our server and the other folks we interacted with were very helpful and pleasant. I'd give it another chance down the road. read more

This review is for the Sidewall on Cleveland Street. Come by anytime on a nice spring, summer or fall evening and you'll see what a neighborhood gathering spot this is. You often see families with young children meeting up here, rolling up in strollers or even kids in wagons. Casual enough atmosphere that the parents and kids can both have fun. The pizzas are thin crusted brick oven type pizzas that are lighter and at least seem healthier and less fattening than your typical pizza! More interesting toppings like arugula and prosciutto, white pizzas, pesto pizzas etc. The salads are my favorite- lots of delicious choices and big enough for two meals! Reasonably priced, too! Nice porch which is pleasant in good weather and warm enough and covered in not so nice weather, and a fun place to have a beer and see a neighbor! Great place to go before a Greenville High game- but crowded! There's a reasonable amount of parking lot parking on site but there's plenty of nearby parking too.
