This hotel is not that great. It's overpriced for starters. The so called clubhouse bar is a rip off. 20$ a pitcher, you do the math. In their defense, they are remodeling, but until the rooms are complete, they shouldn't rent them out. For the price of their rooms, you'd think the continental breakfast would be worth eating. If you are willing to pay their ridiculous price, look around. There are nicer hotels for the same price. read more

Incredible place to spend your vacation! We have a busy three-year-old with down syndrome, the kitchen staff each took the time to pick her up and talk to her. They were so sweet! I guess they had just remodeled everything was beautiful and extremely clean. Whoever decorated did an incredible job of making it not look like just another hotel room. we will definitely be back thanks for making it an enjoyable trip! Keep in mind this hotel and bar is currently under a major renovation, but I have to still give it five stars due to the great hospitality and cleanliness in the completed areas. Christina at the front desk couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, and I would say the exact same thing for Jules and Jessica at the Clubhouse Bar. The completed areas of the hotel were very clean. The bathroom at the Sports bar was so clean (A++) it immediately caught my attention. This is more relevent to an "extended" stay situation but it is buyer beware regardless. We booked a 3 night stay in order to visit with friends staying at the neighboring RV resort apparently owned by the same company. On arrival there was no record of our reservation and the same was true of our friends who actually drove to the resort a few days before to confirm on site their RV reservation. We arrived at the check-in time of 3:00 pm. No reservation and the room we had reserved was not ready anyway. We took a downgrade room which was OK. The poor kid at the desk was clearly alone and overwhelmed. The room was OK and clean as such but clearly showing it is a dated style. OK, no big deal. However, next day...no room service. No bed change, no coffee replenishment, no bath towels, washcloths alike, trash not emptied, etc. Nothing. To make the situation not so good the toilet would not stop running for about 1/2 hour, if at all, after flushing. I attempted to fix the float but it was jammed and I did not want to force it. Next day I went to the beleaguered office girl and complained. Turns out, extended stay does not get any services. No signs anywhere on the walls anywhere as every other place we have stayed across the country stating the "save the environment" banter to request no service. No TV guide which I attribute to the Covid excuse, maybe. So, basically not a well managed operation either the hotel or the RV park. Both of us arrived to no reservation and a downgrade of location. Would I stay there again? Only as a last choice as we will be visiting again. On the plus side, it was quiet where we were located and convenient to the RV park. Also convenient to Solvang and, for those who wish, the Chumash Casino. Beds were comfortable but the room temp was a challenge to maintain but not a major issue. I realize that some problems are passed off the to COVID issue but as I was taught, "excuses only satisfy those who make them". Finally, to be fair, the sweet, beleaguered young lady did bring down more coffee, some towels and sheets (which we didn't need) and a plunger. But, it was not a plunger issue. We just turned the toilet on and off at the wall. P.S. don't look at the plumbing connections under the sink. Suspicious stuff there ! read more

We were visiting the area on our way to San Fran. This was a pleasant surprise. Was looking to do a last min run to pismo for some atv riding. Couldn't decide where to stay since we knew we wanted to eventually head more south to Santa Barbara and LA but with pool time as well. Was literally about to book at a Marriott in Santa Ynez and found this randomly. Mapped it out and we love Solvang so figured let's stay here. Looked cute and had good reviews. I am so glad that we did. It was about 30 min ride from pismo but it was fine, enjoyed the ride. When we arrived there was a line and the man apologized and said they had a high number of check ins, no need to apologize! He was very nice. We headed to the one of the fire pits, then walked around. We found a gathering area showing Shrek which was my son was all about. Movie time ended at 10pm and we chatted with some workers. They were really nice as well. The next day we took advantage of the pool and it was lovely. The weather was great, pool wasn't too crowded. There is another pool that appears bigger by the RV area and cabin area. Looks great as well. They offer continental bfast delivered at a window of time u request, consisting of croissants, yogurt parfaits and or fruit and juice. It's was a great touch. They also sell local wine and beers in the lobby. We didn't get a chance to order any food from the lounge but next time! Enjoyed the laid back vibe of the hotel as well as the other guests and pawed guests. We can't wait to go back. read more

We stayed here for our recent visit to the Santa Ynez Wine Valley. Having seen the movie 'Sideways', we figured it would be cool to stay here. Let me start with, it's an older property, but relax. When you pull up, you'll see the windmill from the street but have to enter near a gas station where the property is located behind. Currently, they are totally renovating the reception area, exterior. Most of the rooms are all renovated and are very nice. They've given the rooms a modern update, sliding barn door to the bathroom, new beds, furniture and our room had old historical photos of the area donated by the Santa Ynez Historical Society. The pool/spa area is very nice and the landscaping is all updated with desert landscape and small gas fire pits and chairs. The staff was very friendly and courteous and have free Wi-Fi for guests. There is also a small bar/lounge on property for cocktails which was a little seedy but fun. The only minus is there is no room safe, no iron/board in room and no dresser drawers to put items in, other then the small table next to the bed. Other than that, we had a great experience here and would definitely stay again in the future. read more

Slightly overpriced for our budget, but this quaint boutique hotel is less than 10 minutes from Solvang. Comfortable rooms and bathrooms, and very good breakfast. The bathroom door didn't close in our room and I would have liked the shower to have a full glass pane covering it. The outdoor fireplace is nice and relaxing for the evenings and the staff is very friendly and good. read more

worst experience! We were there New Year Day. for one night, and at 2 am heater stop working! we were freezing until morning, they didn't take responcibility just told us oh sorry!!! I am sick already! I believe the heater is from 1877! completely unresponsive hotel staff. the hotel is super run down . the rooms are too old. one more thing: in non smoking room there is a cigaret smoke smell in pillows! also you never feel like want to shower at that bathroom!!! in lobby whenever you want to drink, hot chocolate or tea the water is cold! overall I can say This hotel is extremely dated and cheap. read more

After reading some reviews I was a little nervous to stay at this hotel, but to my surprise my girlfriends and I loved it. Its in a great location and a perfect stay after going wine tasting in solvang which is about a 5-10 minute drive. Monica at the front desk was very friendly and nice when checking us in. She gave us one of the renovated rooms that they have and we loved it. We loved the feeling the room had and our room had a sliding door that led right to the pool. Our room was right across from the bar the hotel has and we had a great time in there as well. The hotel is currently under renovations and once its finished the place will look wonderful. We will definitely be back again!!! read more

Pros: -The room was clean and the WiFi was good. -There are 3 fire pits around the place that are a nice way to relax at night. -There's plenty of outdoor parking. -The staff was friendly. Cons: -Noisy! Our hotel door didn't do much to block noise. Our door happened to face the freeway so it was loud and you could hear the cars driving by. There was also construction on the freeway during our stay so it was extra loud. You could also hear your neighbors walking by. -The breakfast offered at the hotel wasn't that great and was open a limited time. It was only open until 9am during the week. That seems like an early time to end breakfast when you're on vacation and want to sleep in. The breakfast consisted of cereal, pastries, yogurt, fruit, and waffles. The pastries didn't seem fresh. -There aren't any elevators so you have to lift your luggage up the stairs if your room is on the second floor. Overall, it was a decent stay but I would try to get a room that doesn't face the freeway and don't expect too much from the free breakfast. read more

They have remodeled the place and it looks contemporary. 4 stars because It was a bit noisy due to its proximity to the highway but if it wasn't for this reason I believe it deserves 5 stars. This has been one of the worst hotel stays ever. First off you should probably disclaim that there is construction going on or not put customers directly above the room Being worked on. All you hear is banging and saws going off start as early as 630 7 am. Another thing is why there were so many pincher bugs crawling in the bed on the walls even I'm my suitcase. Given the rooms are spectacular but the other aspects made for a not so pleasant stay. If I could have gotten refunded and stayed somewhere else I would have. Won't be staying here again. read more

Have stayed here twice in the last 2 months and Sideways Inn is a great little spot for its value. It is a cute, renovated motel which is so close to many tasting rooms in Buellton. What I appreciate the most is it is one of the few hotels/motels that do not require a 2 night minimum stay over the weekend, which is rare in Santa Barbara county. read more

We booked a queen bed room far in advance for our 2-nights stay at the Sideways Inn this past weekend. When we did the check-in and got to the room, we found 2 twin beds instead of one queen. I went to the front desk and the receptionist said they were sorry, but they didn´t have anything else available. But the worse was when we came late at night and the room was as we left it in the morning. No room service at all. I had to go to the front desk again and ask for the manager. The manager was not there. They were understaffed and they couldn´t clean the room. They apologized for that. Nothing else. That's it. Really? We paid $400 for a room which actually was not the room we originally booked. Then we never got any kind of room service. Beautiful hotel for sure, but unexisting customer service. And if you are understaffed you should let the customer know in advance when you charge that amount for such a limited and poor service. read more

This is our second time staying here. The first time we stayed was great. This time not so much. The people at the front counter are great and very welcoming. We checked in and went to our room, noticed that our room door was left open, the reason - it smelled like poop, yes poop! I went back to the front counter and let them know I needed a different room. I explained why and they couldn't believe it so they sent the manager over and she as well noticed the smell. So we got a different room. Thankfully it didn't smell but the floors in the bathroom weren't cleaned and there was no hand soap and to add to it in the morning I discovered one of my pillow(thankfully my son had dropped it on the floor so he didn't use it) had either blood or makeup. I let the people at the front counter know at checkout. All they could say was sorry. My advice, get better cleaning system. I really like this hotel and it's very cute, they need help with cleaning the rooms and letting someone know that the room is clean and ready for others to use. read more

My husband, myself and young adult son stayed here last week. We really enjoyed it! If you're not looking for it, you might miss it as the entrance is tucked away. Look for the LARGE sign over the driveway! The room boasted trendy decor including wood floors and a sliding barn door for the bathroom. We stayed on the first level with our door and window facing the parking lot. We could hear our neighbors above us but it wasn't bad. Being right next to the 101 freeway, I barely heard any road noise. Their continental breakfast includes a choice of fruit, yogurt with fruit topping and granola (optional), apple or orange juice, and a fresh croissant delivered to your door at the time of your choice (7-10 AM). Fresh coffee is available in the lobby and each room has it's own Keurig machine, microwave and mini fridge. The beds were clean and comfortable. There is a nice swimming pool, hot tub, well-equipped gym and large conference/event room onsite. There is also a hip adult lounge that serves craft beer, hand-crafted cocktails and local wines. The property also has a few common areas with fireplaces surrounded by adirondeck seating. What I loved about the property is that it is in partnership with the RV Park next door. There (RV Park) you will find a grill/cafe with a satisfying menu and they offer Thrifty ice cream! Bonus on a hot day with kiddos! There is also a game room, large family swimming pool with private cabana-like areas, and even a little water park setting for the little littles to enjoy! I am planning a family trip back there because they have so much to offer for all ages. And, then there's Solvang, only a 5 minute drive from the hotel. Sweet! read more

Wow what a change from the old Days Inn. The rooms are clean and spacious, the beds firm and comfortable, even the chairs are comfortable. The mini frig has a separate freezer. Oh and the best towels I've had in any hotel lately. Other amenities include pool, hot tub, fire pits, large workout room and a pub. The breakfast delivered to your room was quite good. Terri at the front desk is the best, she really practices Customer Service, so thankful she was on duty. The only downside is some of the rooms are close to the 101 and can be a little loud, but most rooms are pretty quiet. read more

We were up for a wedding and had a wonderful stay here. While not completely finished with the reservations, the changes made so far look beautiful. Our room was elegantly decorated with lovely amenities, a modern bathroom and fascinating photos of Buellton from 100 years ago. Our bed was firm yet comfortable. The room overlooked the pool area and had a great overall vibe. The staff was super attentive and helpful. Very cute, quaint Inn. They allow up to 2 dogs, and give you access to the RV park next door which has tons of family friendly things to do. Lots of stores or local restaurants in walking distance, and they even have their own restaurant and gym at the Inn. The staff was always very polite and friendly and definitely make it want to come back! read more

I'll first start off with aesthetically the Inn has done a great job with the decor. The shower head has to go. You can't take a decent shower with that shower head and the poor water flow. The noise level is horrendous! Although they have no control over rude and tacky people, they could do a better job with their quiet time rules. My gosh we were woken up both nights after midnight with loud people hanging out on the balcony. We had to tell the other guests that we were sleeping and too be quiet. Well, like I said you can't do anything about trashy, rude people, because they got louder. The barn doors, as cute and decorative as they are, if the guests next to you have kids it's annoying when they let them slam them over and over again. Then after a nice day of wine tasting we come back and our room was not serviced. We had to call for some fresh towels and when the maid arrived she then asks if we want the room serviced. Really? Most places automatically do it, we don't have to ask. And we didn't put the little sign out that says not to service. Also, the TV worked sporadically, and we had to wait for channels to kick in. Not the comfort we hoped for, because all these things took that away. If you're looking for a nice relaxing place here is not the place unless no one is staying around you. read more

Such a beautiful renovation of an ordinary hotel. Beautiful rooms with thoughtful details. Spacious, pretty barn door on bathroom, and just nice! LOVED the rosemary/herbal lotion and soap. Where can you buy that? (We asked at frontdesk, nope!). Paid $200 for 2a/1c on a Saturday in August, high season, without a 2 night minimum, which was nice. For the area, about $ right, but accommodations exceeded expectations. Nice continental breakfast with waffles, yogurt, and the "usual." About 10 minute drive to park to see Newsies (excellent!) at the Solvang theatre (our 5 year old loved it!). The pool was refreshing, not spectacular, but great to have; small but relaxing jacuzzi. For the price category, this is a great stay, we will be back! Go feed the Ostriches and Emus down the road (about 10 minutes east). read more

Impeccable service, excellent location, updated clean rooms and overall hotel!! The fitness room was the best I've seen thus far at a hotel this size. This establishment owns the RV park next door which grants you access to all of their amenities and events also. We enjoyed a delicious BBQ dinner there one night with live music. Fire pits are lit nightly. This hotel felt lively during the day and very quiet and relaxing at night. Their breakfast delivery service was very convenient and enough to get you through until a late lunch. So many good things to say but I'll just stop by saying you definitely should stay here! read more
