    Prepackaged salad selections
    Joanne V.

I've grown up with this cafeteria inside Renown. My mom used to work the hospital as one of the hardworking nurses and my aunt also worked hard as a cashier at the cafeteria. Both my mom and my aunt retired but their friends still work here which makes it homely for me. I have fond memories of my mom bringing home food when she worked her night shift and my aunt would bring food home for my cousins, brother, and I also! My aunt would bring home expired bread and drive to the nearest park to feed the ducks. I usually go here when I'm working at the office usually twice a day to get my steps in. Many of the options are grab and go since 2020 but I'm hoping there are changes with the grill to be made to order as they recently changed the grab and go salads to an actual salad bar! for breakfast I usually get egg, sausage patty, breakfast sandwich which is way better than sausage egg McMuffin from McDonald's! There are also breakfast burritos offered for grab and go. There is also a hot breakfast line that menu changes daily but have the common staples of eggs, biscuits, gravy, sausage links, and bacon. Sometimes they offer chicken fried steak, hashbrown Pattie's, quiches, chorizo scramble, or corned beef hash. There is also donuts, bagels, cottage cheese, yogurt, yogurt parfaits, and oatmeal offered. Lunch time also have grab and go options: chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, chicken wraps, chicken strips, French fries, jalapeño poppers, and at time egg rolls. They have a rotating line of the hot selections and soup. Their fish tacos are the best but only are offered every few months. Chicken pablano soup is one of my favorites. They also offer salads sold by weight and sushi made daily. They also have a couple microwaves and offer condiments and utensils for those that need to heat food as employees also utilize the cafeteria for their lunch breaks. The dining area is very clean and well kept. Sarah and Kris are the ladies that serve the hot selections who I see daily and are the sweetest. The cashiers are very polite and again very homely because of the mutual relationships we have with my mom and my aunt.

Sierra Cafe is located at Renown Regional Medical Center, and employees get a 10% discount. I try to bring my breakfast and lunch and snacks to work, but Sierra Cafe hits the spot when I want to eat something that I didn't make myself. I highly recommend their breakfast burritos and English muffin breakfast sandwiches, which both come in meat and vegetarian options. Those are only available until 10:30 am, though, before the grill switches over to fried foods like burgers and fries and fried pickles and chicken club sandwiches. Sierra Cafe has another hot food station for breakfast and lunch options. People are always getting the biscuits and gravy, but I'm here for the potatoes, bacon, and sausage. There's a center area where you can get sushi that they make in house and other sorts of pre-packaged things. Pre-COVID, there was a salad bar, but now the salads come pre-packaged. They are huge and very inexpensive, but the fried foods or sushi usually get my dollars. There's lots of places to sit and eat, and there's microwaves in the area, so folks who bring their lunch but who want to eat with their colleagues who are buying food and use it as a gathering place.

Yup. Definitely rating the hospital cafeteria because it definitely surprised me. First of all, very cheap. I was expecting airport prices, but VERY affordable. Secondly, quality and flavor surprised me because my pasta and chicken wasn't terrible at all, unlike most cafeteria food. Overall, Renown cafeteria food didn't disappoint.

If you are reading this, than you are contemplating whether to go to the cafeteria in renown hospital or not. Surprisingly enough , the food is not bad for hospital cafeteria food and it is affordable. Unlike the Airport, it does not cost you a arm and a leg. There is a good selection of hot foods, sandwiches, burgers, quesadillas, and soups. There is a huge seating area with many tables. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hospital. The only negative I have is some food is cooked ahead of time, and put underneath a warming lamp. I think this happened because I showed up late . Overall the service was great, the food was good and the restaurant was clean. I hope not to be in hospital again , but if so I would eat here again. . .

I for one love my dining cuisine like I love my romances, plentiful and leaving me desiring nothing but to drift off into deep blissful slumber. Well here at the J casino I can assure you that even though this buffet doesn't look like much at first glance it packs a powerful wallop. There is no skipping the line, even if you are a higher tiered member. I actually like that because I find it to be fair. Just the way the good lord intended we eat at places of convenience. Luckily the line wasn't too long and the person behind the register was swift. Next our server was great! Her name was Janet and she also works as a nurse practitioner for elderly people, and you would think that would make her slower or perhaps a little too exhausted to keep at it, but to our surprise she was beyond helpful and the service was excellent. The buffet has crab legs, mini pizzas, salads, pastas, and desserts there's plenty of variety and lots of friendly faces to assist you if you should need anything. The overall environment seems eager to help. Very much recommended this place, it's one of my new staples in my diet.

We got pork and beef soup dumplings that were really tasty and did not burn our mouths when we bit into them so that was fantastic. We got tankatsu ramen and the broth was one of the best I've ever tasted. But the meat pieces and noodles were disappointing. We got the quesabirria tacos and the flavor on those were fantastic...plus they weren't greasy which I really appreciated. And it came with the consume which also had really good flavor. Overall, this place is now in my top 3 all time favorites for a good quesabirria taco. My 2 complaints are that I wasn't able to order any kind of taco à la cart so I couldn't try more flavors/meats and the quesabirria option didn't come with a drink but the other taco options did.

The variety alone makes it a must-visit, and the community events and large, clean dining area are definite highlights. For that, I'd give the local support and atmosphere a 10 out of 10. That said, I think there's real opportunity to make this place even better for visitors and for the vendors who call it home. The turnover of businesses coming and going is noticeable, and it makes me wonder whether the cost of participation is sustainable for smaller operations. It would be wonderful to see more support structures in place to help local businesses thrive long-term here because when vendors succeed, the whole experience improves for everyone. A few small operational tweaks could go a long way. Shared basics like utensils, condiments, and drink lids would reduce friction and make the dining experience feel more seamless especially at this price point. Centralized supply sharing between vendors seems like a natural fit for a space like this. Free refills or a self-serve drink station would also be a welcome touch. Pay for specialty cups or refill discounts for the reusable cups. The 2nd floor feels like untapped potential more vendor options or seating activations up there could really elevate the whole space. Maybe a kids play area or a little indoor garden. Maybe th3 coffee shop should be there with some book and trinkets for people to hangout in. Some boardgames even or corn hole. At the price point, these are reasonable expectations, and I genuinely hope management takes them as the encouragement they're meant to be. This place has everything it needs to be truly exceptional it just needs a few refinements to make it as worthwhile for vendors and visitors alike as it deserves to be.

The eating area is very spacious and commodious. Though this place has a casual vibe, the presentation of the food is totally fine-dining material. Each dish, especially the Citrus glazed salmon, is served as a piece of art. I've been here around three times before I installed yelp, and am excited to finally leave a review. The short rib, was absolutely amazing. The short rib was so tender, and each brussels sprout was a literal flavor bomb. The brussels sprouts I've had at other places have flavor only on the exterior, whereas the brussels sprouts here play a different game. The short rib is served in a really big portion. Though it may look dark from the photos, there are actually three big pieces. I loved loved loved the sauce; there's a sweet tangy taste to it, though it reminded me a lot of BBQ sauce. This short rib was a win. Chefs kiss. The truffle lasagna was terrific; so much sauce in between the lasagna layers. I could absolutely make out the truffle flavor in this dish. However, I recommend eating this dish quickly, as the lasagna stiffens really quickly. Thirty minutes after it was served, I went it to take another bite, and it wasn't as good anymore. The ceasar salad +beef is a great choice for a light but filling meal when you're currently on a healthy diet. Each dish here comes in giant portions, but even after you finish this salad, it won't feel too heavy on your body. I think it's because Washoe is really light on the dressing levels; perfecting the amount so it doesn't overtake the fresh flavor of the greens or leave the salad bland and insipid. However, the beef was a bit too well done and on the firmer side. The first time coming here, I was totally shocked to find out that the food they served did not match the relaxed and informal vibe the setting sets up. Not a bad thing at all. Creates a laid-back vibe while still getting high quality food.

Situated in Mid-Town, it is conveniently located near the River and an easy walk to to the Pioneer Center. Have no fear, there is quite normal food fare in addition to the more exotic. We went with a large group, so we were able to sample the exotic and the more traditional. Starting with the Double Elk Chops, featured on Dives, Diners and Drive-Ins, the Elk is a bit on the gamey side, tender with a hint of lamb taste but a finish of liver, it is not for everyone. Scottish Eggs is a soft boiled egg, wrapped in sausage, then deep fried. It is served with a beer mustard. My friend, from England, was quick to order the Scottish Eggs. He reported that they were a bit over cooked but otherwise fine. 6/10. The Kangaroo Philly Cheese Steak sounds more exotic than the taste. For this sandwich I would have appreciated a bit more Kangaroo :-) but otherwise was good. Our friends seemed to enjoy the Boar Schnitzel and the portion was certainly large, as were all the portions at the Washoe Public House. The Short Ribs were so tended and a just a touch on the sweet side. My wife liked the sweetness but as a full meal, it was a bit sweet for my palate. I had the Washoe Burger with Bacon. A solid burger. I would have preferred my patty a bit less cooked but it was fine none the less. Rich with flavor, a solid choice. The fries were good. Nothing spectacular. It you are looking for different, Washoe Public House just might be the ticket. Fantastic cuisine, located close to the River and other entertainment.
