Stopped by for breakfast and the place was pretty empty. The decorations in the dining area are fun and a nice touch. Took a minute to be seated but the service overall was great. I got the chicken and waffles and a huckleberry lemonade. The lemonade was delicious, and the food was good but nothing to write home about. Nothing special or fancy, everything tasted the baseline of what you'd expect. I only wish the chicken came with a dipping sauce other than the ketchup at every table. Admittedly, I didn't ask, but felt it should have come with a dipper of BBQ sauce or ranch. I would return but it isn't a place I would frequent often as a regular.

My first thought walking in was that the entry had not been cleaned in several days. I mentioned it to the hostess and she said she would get right on it. It was still filthy when we left. The food was plentiful and tasty. I had the New Orleans and my husband had the shrimp PoBoy. Alyssa was our server. She was super busy but did a good job being attentive to everyone. My husband said the men's bathroom was filthy. He did bring this to the attention of the host. This is a reflection also on the customers. There's no excuse. Even though the food was good, I'm not sure if I would go back.

My first time here. It wasn't busy at all and it took a long time to get our food. Luckily we were not in a hurry. I had the unlimited soup salad and garlic sourdough. The gumbo and chili were good. The garlic sourdough was disappointing. Not much flavor. The salad was ok. The blue cheese dressing was kinda blah. Vinaigrette was better. We ordered the fried green tomatoes. The batter was great & they looked awesome but the flavor was disappointing compared to homemade. But flavor is always subjective so my saying I was disappointed in flavors might not translate to a universal opinion. The California Benedict is served on a fried green tomato instead of a muffin. We ordered the onions in the potatoes to be WELL caramelized and the cook did a SPECTACULAR job of that. I would come again for these caramelized onions! The fact that the cook got this perfect is encouraging...if you like things prepared a special way you might find it here. The atmosphere is great. Very cute. People were very friendly. We came here for breakfast one morning around 8am after dropping our car off at Big O Tires. It wasn't busy, but it took about 5 mins to be seated. I was just waiting at the counter for someone to acknowledge me. Once seated, our server was extremely kind and accommodating. We shared the Mississippi skillet. Definitely a good size portion to where it felt like a full meal for both of us. It was served with a blueberry muffin. The skillet was great. Nice flavors and had all the meats and veggies I wanted ! The muffin was a bit too dry and flaky for me.

I came for breakfast, was greeted with a Gator at the door, and a friendly host. Promptly seated, no lines, orders were taken, food arrived with in 6 minutes or so, it's rather quick, i'm surprised how fast the food came out. We ordered the Mississippi and New Orlean with huckleberry muffin, strawberry lemonade and huckleberry tea served in mason jar. The portion is decent, they could have used less starch (potatoes) in my opinion. It's heavy on potatoes. Oppose to ham, bacon, bell pepper, onion and mushroom, I feel they made the potatoes the star of the dish, instead of nice balanced portion. My friend plate the New Orleans, ( sausage. Shrimp, mushroom, ) contains more proteins than the potato. She enjoyed her dish then I did. The huckleberry muffin is warm and moist and delicious. For the food, I give it 3 stars rating, if they take it easy on the potatoes, and given me more protein ( bell peppers, mushroom, and ham) Over all service my waitress is pleasant and keeps checking on us.

Wonderful meal, super busy, great service and the restaurant looked wonderful! Thanks

Stopped in for a quick bite. Enjoyed a few breakfast dishes. It wasn't crowded so seating was fast. Our server really explained dishes on the menu. She was very engaging. The biscuits were so light and fluffy. I went with the steak and eggs. It was just ok. Would love to come back just to try different options on the menu.

    Southern Swirl French Toast Breakfast

My wife came here about a week ago with her mother and really loved the Southern Swirl French Toast she had. Finding ourselves in south Reno again today, she took me there for breakfast. Having lived in the South Eastern area of the United States for many years in northern Florida, I was very familiar with and fond of Cajun cuisine! I sided with the Cajun omelette this morning and asked for shrimp and extra Monterey Jack cheese to be added. They forgot both... but the omelette was quite tasty as served. Our server was very nice and was apologetic about the oversight. Not really his fault so I just rolled with it. The interior is decorated with southern style cracker house fixtures and old-time paraphernalia giving it a Louisianan feel. I would eat here again and most-likely will if I can pull myself away from Great Full Gardens every once in a while...!

Awesome customer service. Super awesome host that seated us was super sweet. Beignet were ok. Nothing spectacular. But again overall decent food. Very warm atmosphere, this is a good place for pastries and coffee and relax.

Delicious, large portions for breakfast. I had chicken fried steak, potatoes, and eggs. It lasted me 3 days! So good. Nicely battered and fried. Potatoes had bell peppers and onions. My son had crab cakes Benedict and dad had an omelet. Service was a tad slow. They may have needed an extra server. Restaurant is clean, nicely decorated and our server was very nice.

Was surprised it had a second floor with a small deck and pretty decent views! Big place. Great Happy Hour Deals (half off drinks) and other specials. I haven't eaten breakfast there but the burger I'd put in the top 4 in Reno. It is giant diameter wise but the meat is the same amount of a smaller thicker burger which makes it no too hard to eat. I'd call this a Purist's Burger. Crisp lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard, sauce. They went really light on the sauce to the point I didn't think it had any. Fries were excellent too. Price is very reasonable (that's typical near a college.) I've tried Royce, Juicy's, and The Parlor. I'd put Archies below Royce and Parlor but above Juicy's. Two left on my list are Armando & Son's Butcher Shop and of course Beefy's.

We found parking right away. We noticed the large banner outside touting best burgers. Was craving fish and chips, buttttt decided to go with a burger. Ricardo was our server.. we were greeted as we were stepping through the door. Told to take a seat anywhere. Ricardo recommended "any" burger with a smile. I asked whether I should order onion rings or fries, he said order the Texas Toothpicks.. Combo of beer battered onions and jalapeños. Ok let's do this. Richard's must have checked in on us 5-7 times during our meal, great service! Actually we had an entire conversation about his service, friendly, efficient, quick, chatty, and gets the order right! Order Bloody Mary served with banana pepper, green olive and lime.. no salted rim, which is fine, missing salty component for me BECAUSE I LIKE SALT... Drink was GOOD. Bloody Mary and Corona brought icy cold within two minutes. Jalapeno burger and fries son loved his burger! Son felt his burger had appropriate amount of salt and great char crusting. Garlic butter burger and Texas Toothpicks which is beer battered onions and jalapeños. In my opinion this burger starts with the bread.. Delicious soft bun that actually fits the patty. The patty had a nice sear on it, it was under seasoned and almost well done. The burger was lacking salt component to complement the garlic. Had the burger been seasoned, and had I have ordered it medium rare, (my mistake) it would have been really good. The burger did come without condiments which I appreciate because I can put my own in appropriate amounts to my liking. I added a pinch of salt, no complaining and we were good to go! I didn't even eat 1/4 of my food! The burgers and portions were HUGE!! The Texas Toothpicks were really good, a good fry was achieved on them. They held up to being dipped in ranch. 1/2 order hot wings and fries The wings were ordered breaded and hot. They had a good crisp, and were fried appropriately! Good amount of salt. The fries were served super crispy, piping hot and perfectly salted. The order came with carrots and celery without having to ask. Ranch.. Ranch is a serious condiment in our household with food like this. It was good. An appropriate amount was served with wings, and of course for us fries and ranch go hand in hand. The restaurant was clean, all staff was friendly and great service!!!

They did my over-medium eggs perfectly, and the brisket was nice and smoky and also surprisingly lean. The braised greens on the side surprised me a little with the flavor at first--I thought it was a bit too salty, but the tang seemed to come from like a vinegar flavor or something, and it kind of grew on me. Went pretty well with the other parts of the meal. I have to admit I was a little surprised the biscuit was a bit dense and dry--still tasted fresh/made, just a bit off in terms of size and taste compared to the rest of the stuff on the plate. We also got the beignets, which came with a nice bourbon sauce, but sadly a few of them weren't cooked all the way through. The interior was very bright (lots of windows) and clean, and the service team behind the counter was very pleasant. Also, I thought the price was fantastic for the special--like $14.95-for a very satisfying and overall well-made meal. We'll be back to try other stuff on the menu.
