Absolutely love coming here. BYOB...all you can eat...it's hard to beat. The wait can be long sometimes but I've been lucky the last two times and haven't had to wait. The waitress was helpful. Even bringing us shot glasses for our shochu and glasses for our beers. The meat is plentiful and you're not left throwing what they gave you on the grill and asking for more. They'll serve you a heap of your choices and keep coming back to you if you want more. This is definitely not a fancy place. At times you'll be sitting on a long table with people you don't know but everyone's concentrating on their own grill anyway. It's definitely a place to pre-game or post-game a bar hopping night! Best place to go for late night hunger! There's days where I'm super hungry after work and with my shift ending around 2 am, Sikdorak is the place for my dinner. I love Korean BBQ, I truly do. Since I've moved to Hawaii, I've probably gone to Siks 100+ times; haha kidding, but it sure feels like it. Also the tables were not sanitized/cleaned. Both times, the customer service was absolutely trash. My friend wanted to use the bathroom, apparently that staff didn't give her the bathroom keys, instead she stared at her and looked up and down, didn't do anything. Everyone LOVED the tongue but personally thought it was rather chewy... but it's tongue so it's probably just supposed to be that way. My favorites were the marinated beef and the steak. They give a decent sized slab of steak. Yeah... A SLAB. Expecting a precut steak, we were taken aback but very, very pleased and happy. The tripe was so-so but way better than boiled tripe, the short ribs were really yummy, and the pork belly was kinda chewy and fatty but not bad. This little hole in the wall is definitely worth the find! This restaurant is located on the opposite side of the Honolulu Walmart, across the street there are a lot of restaurants and here's where you can find Sikdorak (your landmark for this place is the raging crab which you could see from the street view, turn into that lane and you'll find Sikdorak hiding in that little area). I'm a newbie when it comes to a yakiniku style restaurant but it was always something I wanted to try. Upon arriving at the location around 5:45-6pm we checked in and quickly was able to snag a seat on a open table (it was pretty full with people). I had a party of 4 so we sat at the smaller tables along the wall. Just to clarify for people who don't really know, you pay a set price (I'll round up and say around $24 dollars) for unlimited meat. The meat options consisted of; Short rib, brisket, pork belly, rib eye, tongue, spicy pork, seasoned short rib, seasoned beef and barbecue chicken. Our table was already set up with waters and some small side dishes like kimchi, tofu, cucumber and rice (and another dish I'm not too sure on the specific I didn't eat any of it). We sat down had our waiter light our grill and take our order we selected short rib (seasoned and regular), brisket, pork belly and rib eye. I do not know my meats that well so when the server came with a plate of meat I had no idea really what was what they were pretty much just stacked on each other not much division. I was able to tell apart the pork belly (which looked like really fatty bacon), the rib eye (was served on a separate plate significantly thicker than the other meats and lastly the seasoned short ribs which were also served on a second plate filled with the meat and saucy marinade. As soon as the meat arrived we got to grilling, our grill did start on low heat but after 10-15min our server saw us struggling and cranked up the heat for us which was pretty smooth from there. When it came to grilling I'm going to take away points for not giving an extra set of tongs for the meat for a table of 4 it was awkward having my brother in law cook and serve everyone I'd rather have a little more freedom from that and have 2 of us on the grill flipping our own meat, yes I know we have chopsticks we could've used but me being a beginner level chopstick I'm not that talented to use it as a tong. The meat finished and overall they're just "ok" nothing really makes you say "wow this is amazing!" But it is meat so it easy fills everyone's carnivore side so you can't really complain. For the rib eye there was a healthy amount of fat that covered the meat, easily solved by just removing the fat and ordering more meat if what they supplied wasn't enough. Our overall favorite choice was the seasoned short ribs it kinda reminded me of eating like teriyaki it had a sweet flavor to it. The brisket was also very good, they offer 2 dipping containers 1 filled with a sweet shoyu type sauce and the other was an oil and salt type sauce. The sauces help bring that flavor you need to the meats. The servers are great, always offering to restock on your meats and asking if your alright taking the time to refill on water and rice. We ordered up 4 plates of food and I was stuffed ready to just lay down and sleep by the end of it all. Our total came out to around 93-96ish dollars (my sister has the receipt) did I feel like We are that much worth in food?! NOPE and I guess that's how they make their profit, our appetites aren't as big as the price. So here's some issues I had with this place, If you wanna dress up and go out and have a fancy dinner DONT go here, the atmosphere is really casual don't expect no 5star restaurant. The restrooms are located outside of the restaurant, I guess all the stores in that building have a community style bathroom so you do have to walk out, walk a few doors down and the bathrooms there. The restaurant itself is pretty run down and is also very small if you do come at a later dinner time expect to be waiting outside for an open table. And lastly BYOB (bring your own beer) in my opinion is a horrible idea! One of the cheapest places you could go for all you can eat korean BBQ. The food that came out was good, but left me feeling unsatisfied. Read below for details. Price: You can either get there lunch buffet menu which is around $14, dinner buffet menu at $24, or you can just do ala carte. Sikdorak may not be as popular at Gen, but it really should be! The prices are better because there is no difference between the all-you-can-eat prices on weekdays vs. weekends like Gen. The meat is just as good, if not BETTER than Gen, and it comes way faster. The only thing Gen may do better than Sikdorak is their sides. Gen gives more (a variety of sides for each person) while Sikdorak only gives some sides for the entire party. Other than that (and the less popular location), I believe that Sikdorak is a more authentic, homier experience. read more

If you are craving Korean Yakiniku at off hours, have a friend to go with, and don't mind shelling out $24/person, this is where you've gotta go. Sikdorak is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It's located in Samsung Plaza. Parking rates vary depending on whether you are there at night or during the day. You can either come here for AYCE Yakiniku or you can order some of their other menu items, too, which is much cheaper. When I was here the other night, the person I was dining with wanted to eat AYCE, so I also ordered AYCE because otherwise he would not have been able to eat AYCE, due to the 2 person minimum. Some meats are better than others. The marinated Spicy Pork is pretty good here. I like the marinade that they use, because it's not too salty like some other places are. Everything else is okay. Nothing is terrible. When cooking and cutting the meat, I recommend cooking the meat through first and then cutting it into smaller pieces because there is no way the scissors you get here are going to cut through raw meat for you. I struggled a bit with our pork, but it was easier to cut once cooked through. They give you 2 dipping options for your meats: one oil and salt, and another that is more acidic, kind of like ponzu. I prefer the acidic sauce over the oil here. As fellow yelper Jan mentioned they do not use sesame oil, so as a Korean person who grew up eating like this, it is a bit off putting to eat Yakiniku with oil that is not sesame oil. There was also just a lot of salt in the oil. Sesame oil with less salt and the addition of black pepper would have been much better. Banchan (side dishes) included bean sprouts, kimchi, shoyu onions, and a small salad. I really liked the Kimchi. The onions were a bit salty, but were okay in moderation spread throughout, and eaten with rice. Service was mediocre at best, but it WAS 2am, so I can cut a bit of slack there. I come here every week for the Shabu Shabu. I have not have the meat buffet, but as for the shabu shabu, the vegetables are very fresh all the time. It's a lot of food too but it's healthy and good! This is a great place to go especially if you love all you can eat style at really (I seriously mean) LOOOOWWW/CHEEAP prices. It is right next to Ala Moana/Walmart and it is small. There is a small parking lot you can park in right in front of the place, but I think you have to pay (?), so maybe parking at Walmart and walking over would be better (and you can walk off some of the food so your belt doesn't feel so tight afterwards lol). The food is great, and the people working there are nice and really helpful if you don't know what you are doing. I love the fact that it is open 24 hours, and there is a variety of food you can choose (keep in mind it is a Korean restaurant). Choose your meat(s), they come over and turn on your "grill" and bring all the condiments, veggies, and the plate of RAW MEAT that you ordered so you can COOK IT YOURSELF (some of the new customers from when I was observing didn't understand the concept that the food that they ordered was raw and they need to cook it to how they would like it in order to eat it). If you don't know how long to cook it etc. then they will help, just ask nicely. :) It was a new experience for them, and everyone in the restaurant was enjoying themselves. The servers always come around to refill the drinks and ask if you would like to order more meat. But seriously between my friend and I, we only ordered the BBQ Chicken and Short Rib and we were STRUGGLING to eat it all. I mean they give ALOT, and there is a sign posted stating that they will "CHARGE EXTRA IF THERE IS ALOT OF MEAT LEFTOVER" so make sure you bring an appetite, or at least a couple of equally hungry friends. I would say though the place is small, so when it starts to get busy it will be packed, it will be noisy, and it will get really hot from all the different grills firing up; but those are just small problems, it won't matter once your delicious food comes out and you dig in. :) read more

All you can eat meat for $20 is a great deal! It's a good place to gather with friends, but the reasons why I took 2 stars off is because: 1. The service there is sometimes horrible. The younger waiters are much better though! There is this one guy who usually works the night shift and he provides great customer service- checks up on you, refills your water and cracks some jokes. He also smiles and looks like he enjoys his job! The other workers on the other hand could improve. 2. Sometimes the plates are a bit wet when you do get them. Although the tables do get cleaned up, sometimes there's oil on the floor or something because it's greasy. 3. No ventilation. There's only fans, which don't help much. 4. They can be a bit pushy over receiving tips. read more

Good ventilation for the cooking, fast service. Not the friendliest service, but quick which is nice. They're always packed so you need a reservation. They have a parking lot but it's usually full, so come ahead of time. They only hold your table for five minutes if you're late as well. But it's a good night stop for a group or a couple. read more
