Sikka Dental completely abandoned my children simply because I questioned the need for more X-rays. My daughter had a full mouth X-ray just weeks ago at another dentist, and I asked if they could use those instead of exposing her again. Instead of respecting a parent's concern about radiation, they dismissed us -- then turned around and dropped both of my minor children from care, including my son who had nothing to do with anything. This is reckless, unprofessional, and absolutely unacceptable. If my daughter develops any complications because they chose to abandon her treatment, I will pursue legal action. I'm extremely frustrated by their billing practice. We were asked to sign an estimate for a set of procedures, which we did. We even paid in full. After the surgery, the price of each tooth being extracted went up dramatically and we were told we owed more money! Note: the insurance coverage did NOT change. Sikka Dental simply revised up its own estimate to bill us a couple of hundreds more. My 84-year-old mother has 4 bad teeth and has been in pain for a month. The dentist charged us $550 for xray. a month ago, set up the procedure in the hospital and charge us. Today at 3 pm she cancelled the procedure for tomorrow and sent us to someone else. Got meds, got transport paid for that can't be refunded because it is less than 24 hours. Dr Sikka cancelled less that 24 hours cancelled. I would never use this dentist. Avoid this place at all cost. I did a teeth cleaning 2 years back with an insurance that when I checked the insurance website, it says Sika is in-network. 100% of the time teeth cleaning is covered. I changed my insurance the year after and found a better dentistry. Fast-forward to 2 years, I got a letter from debt collector saying I owed them money. So, we thought it was very strange how after squaring up our bill with this place that we kept getting calls and additional bills for services rendered. We had some extensive work done and prior to, we were given the amounts "out of pocket" and paid them. Then suddenly we owe another huge chuck right out of nowhere. After doing some investigating with the help of my insurance company, I figured out what they do, folks... 1)They bill you for your date of service to your insurance and it's billed under the COMPANY name 2) They bill you AGAIN for the SAME THING under the DOCTOR'S NAME 3)when you go back for your second service within the calendar year, it appears as if you have already gone twice, so you are denied insurance payments and then they tell you it's your responsibility. These are the facts I uncovered after being 3 hours on the phone with my insurance Company. 4) According to my insurance, they also seem to tell you that the services which will be performed are covered and then they perform services not covered, but don't tell you. Then they bill you for them much later and tell you your company delayed and finally came back having denied you and you are responsible. NEWS FLASH, DR.SIKKA: I'm on to you!! You are operating in what seems to appear fraud and I will be communicating with the local authorities to have you checked out. read more

The anesthesiologist was excellent and my son, who's normally combative of anything having to do with medical or dental, was easy to put under. Beware this Dentist. My son is Autistic and needed to be sedated at a hospital for his fillings. We did the initial cleaning and review to see what he needed. Their office staff sent me a document I needed to sign. Good thing I read it. They wanted me to sign a document that let them perform any procedure they felt is necessary. Tooth removal all the way up to root canals. He only needed some cavities filled and there was no reason for any of the other procedures listed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I refused to sign the parts that did not pertain to my son. The document closed and said I needed to agree to all parts. I contacted the office staff and they told me I had to sign the full document. I said no. I would only sign off on the procedures we agreed upon. They relented and send me back the correct document[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. We agreed on a price. The procedure was done. Paid in full. About 6 months later I start getting calls from their billing saying I owed more money for the procedure. I asked for the treatment documents. Turns out they billed me for my sons tooth. Then on another bill charged him for the same tooth. All for the same day of treatment. Me and their billing department found the error and I was told it was not an issue. They agreed I did not owe anything more. A year later I get another call about the same bill. Now more money and the same tooth. Keep in mind I only took my son here once. I explained again the issue with being billed twice and now they say the second insurance did not pay the bill from the first procedure. I explained what happen and the billing lady again said it was fine and we did not owe anything. Now 2 years later. I get another call about the same bill. This time a new billing lady. She says we owe money from the procedure. I explain to her what me and the previous billing lady discovered. She says that lady is no longer employed there and that I should really pay this bill. I told her I am not paying the bill. It is not mine. Just received a collections letter for this bill. I will be contacting the BBB, as well as the Newspaper to see if they are interested in billing fraud story. I wonder if there is an agency that defends cases for children with disabilities. TLDR Do not go here. They charge you twice for one procedure. read more

Went in for a consultation for some extensive dental work. They evaluated me, gave me a price quote for the work to be done and set up an appointment for the following week to start the work. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Spoke to them the day before to confirm that the work we were doing was as stated in the estimate and they did confirm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Showed up 20 minutes early and they had new "paperwork" for me. The first one was the cost of service which was almost exactly **11 times** the original quote. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked about this and they said the insurance company came back with a denial of service for half the services. I asked why they waited until I showed up to tell me this. She just looked at me blankly[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I said I can't afford this treatment. So, she offered to just pull a couple teeth instead. I said okay and went to check if I had a copy of the original estimate in my car. The elevator was broken and I'm in a wheelchair. So, that was fun. Anyway, I waited 15-20 minutes for the new quote they had to run for the extractions. Then was told to wait in the waiting area. About 15 minutes later they came to tell me it was 30 minutes after my appointment time and they wouldn't be able to treat me. I brought in my X-rays for a root canal and I'm in pain from an infected tooth and she wouldn't even look at my mouth but sent me away in pain and no solution. What kind of dentist does that? 1) My wife went to Sikka Dental to get a bridge for her teeth. 2) I checked with them my portion of the total cost which was around 800 dollars and I paid it. 3) I did confirm from them that this is all I have to pay and rest would be covered by insurance. 4) They said Yes and called the insurance company to verify. 5) After they confirmed from the insurance company, I said yes to getting the work done and paid the 800 dollars. 6) A couple of months later, someone from Sikka Dental calls me and tells me that i owe another 1051 dollars because the insurance doesn't cover as much as they thought. 7) I got the work done from them only because I knew how much the initial cost would be. Before you go to this place make sure to double check with them how much would the cost be. Actually its better for you to call the insurance company directly and verify with them yourselves before even going there. I don't trust these guys anymore. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Found them through the Delta Dental USA site. At first I was skeptical because they didn't appear to have good reviews. However, despite the bad reviews to me they provide really good customer service. Doctor Sikka seems like she knows what she is doing and didn't make me do a ton of things like many other dentist do. Have you ever been to a dentist and they recommend all kinds of things for you to do including getting unnecessary crowns? Well, I had that experience at a Dental Office in Los Gatos. Luckily for me, my husband did all the leg work and found Doctor Sikka which did not recommend any of the unnecessary treatments the other doctor did. Dr. Sikka gave me a cleaning and call it a day. Good thing prior to going to Dr. Sikka I got all my cavities taken care of so there was not much she had to do. I highly recommend anyone looking for a dentist to go here. The WORST! I am a older woman trying to get help with rapid decay that occurred during going through 23 surgeries, since 1999 and colon cancer with chemo which caused rapid decay. I have been trying to get help with insurance coverage for 4months now, BUT this office has NO EDUCATION on insurance dealing, in other words how to help a patient prove to insurance this is needed. They will not make calls to help you or even TRY. They are well oiled and taught on how to say a script, well memorized I must say. They WILL NOT go out of their way to help. I even left numerous messages to have Dr. Sikka call and that never happened till I went in and now I've gotten 1 call for her, saying what do you need corrected on the appeal paperwork. This office is all about The old mighty $ if insurance says no they won't help , do you know this office doesn't even offer gas, only way is numbing or pay for a anesthesia doctor to come in. How can you say you do sedation surgery but don't even offer gas in their office. Make sense, NO! My main complaint is how the handle their patients, no caring for you at all!
