I have very hard water in San Jose and with recent changes to water source from San Jose Water my hardness went from 22 to 30 gpg. I researched at least 10 different providers from high end full service to HD self purchase w/ install. I ultimately landed with Martin at Evo because he had such great reviews and was a stand up guy when speaking to him. I ended up getting a 20" pre filter + Clack water softener + water bypass (just in case I need to service or cease using my equipment). The price wasn't the most competitive compared to some of the other competitors here, but was reasonable and more importantly treats you with respect as a customer. Our technician came out within the time frame that he said he would, gave us a thorough rundown of the system available and what it would cost, and even told us he could start right away! 1. Martin installed an Impression Plus Series water softener on Aug. 7 2024. I had to wait until now to give his company a thorough evaluation. A few days after installation water was leaking at the pipe that drained to the sewer & Martin resolved the problem. For 6 months, I noticed some deposits in my decanter as I drink water from the tap. It turned out I needed a hardness tester kit to monitor the hardness's of the unsoftened and 'softened' water. Martin was able to communicate with the technical rep the problem and he adjusted the settings (e.g. hardness, days between regen). Now after every regen I immediately take a hardness reading from any faucet inside the house. They are consistently 0 g/gal. Incidentally I use the Cole-Parmer hardness tester. 2. He also installed a Ruud standard 40-gallon gas water heater on Aug. 23, 2024. There were issues with the San Jose Bldg. Dept. and Martin resolved them so it would pass inspection. He is unflappable and tries very hard to resolve any issues. So, I would recommend him if anyone is in need of a water softener or gas water heater because it is a combination of the product and the plumber who installs it that makes a difference. read more

I was looking to replace my water heater with a tankless one and got quotes from a few providers. Out of all the providers, Evo Water was willing to tell me specifics about the make / model of tankless water heater they install (whereas others did not give specifics, and gave lower gpm rates for whatever they were going to install) - it turned out to be one of the best manufacturers / models available (according to reddit and my friends who have the brand). The price was also the same as other plumbers for the overall cost to install that it was a no-brainer to go with Evo Water. He was able to redo the drainage pipe since I didn't like the angle.. he didn't complain, he was very willing. If you live in Communications Hill, you for sure have hard water. The KB builder is going to recommend ECO, but you can get a better setup for half the cost with EVO. The carbon filter is a must, no longer smelling that chloride with the hot shower.
