The only thing I can recommend at the silver diner is the food which is the whole point of going out to dinner, isn't it. As far as ambience goes, it's a diner , and the atmosphere is like a diner. If you go when they're busy ,and they're frequently very busy, it's quite noisy so be prepared for that. Also, if you go on a weekend in the evening, it's going to be extremely crowded to the point where there may be a line. However, I've eaten there four times. I've had their liver and onions, I've had their steak, I've had their hamburgers and their soups and salads. Everything is wonderful. My steak was absolutely perfectly done correctly and if you like liver and onions, that's the place to go. The serving sizes are very large, including the salad that goes along with dinner so be ready for that it's big. I love the place. I go whenever I can, but you have to be prepared for the crowd and sometimes the noise but outside of that diner is very very good. read more

I came to brunch to enjoy the food and the atmosphere in the end I was completely disappointed by service! I was sitting at table 23 next to the waiters who occupied the next three tables and did the work with the tablewares, as well as the kitchen staff occupied the other two tables and took them lunch. This is unacceptable in a restaurant where customers are, then pay for the food and leave a tip for the service. Where is your manager looking? I can provide a photo of how it was. Terrible! I ordered Bay Benedict and the caesar salad on the side, the main dish was brought, but the salad I had to wait until the waiter passed my table and I asked her to bring me the salad 10 minutes later, for some reason there were no fruits that were supposed with my benedict by menu, I had to wait again. After was no spoon, at my request, she brought me a dirty spoon to eat my fruits. As a result, the service sucks completely, no one has ever checked if everything is in order with my order, while the waiters were sitting next to me and talking. I have visited several locations over the decades and the quality of the food does not change. The menu is seasonal and I really appreciate the chain sourcing locally (and sharing info on the farmers). The service is always good and meals are prepared in good time. Have had salads, burgers, bruschetta, flat iron steak, and avocado toast - all delicious. Enjoy the interesting iced tea flavors although the decaf coffee recently was not up to par. Went to breakfast there this morning where the food and service was good. I ordered the Philly steak omlet which was good, the only issue I had with it was the steak easily fell out of the omlet which made it kind of annoying to eat. However it came with a biscuit, home fries, and this exquisite red sweet pepper sauce that was to die for. Overall, would get it again just for the sauce. I'm in the area for a work trip and not feeling well, so I ordered delivery and no face to face contact. I provided the website with my suite number when setting up the delivery, so I wouldn't have to go anywhere or potentially spread anything I potentially had. My boyfriend ordered us dinner from here on doordash and my dish was borderline terrible. I always give grace when ordering to go knowing sometimes the food doesn't keep well with the travel. I ordered the shrimp scampi and it was extremely bland and ridiculously fishy. The second i opened the lid the fish smell hit us like a truck. There was zero flavor to noodles, and they were very slimy. I tried adding some lemon juice and broth to try and add flavor, but it just made the noodles even slimier. I've left this restaurant insulted, offended, and downright depressed at the state of the modern day restaurant. Silver Diner, touting itself as a "timeless," "classic," and "authentic" diner neglected one of the most important beverages of the time period this "restaurant" is meant to emulate: the Shirley Temple. It is one thing to serve a cherry-less sprite with grenadine abomination because the restaurant simply neglects to keep cherries in stock. This is a real issue, but I've seen it time and time again. But to be served a cherry-less sprite with grenadine abomination and look one seat over to see a perfectly existing maraschino cherry sit atop a milkshake is just a knife to the back. Salt was rubbed into the gapping wound that is the cherry-less hole in my heart. I had to ask this restaurant to put a cherry in my drink. A classic diner should know that in order for a beverage to constitute a Shirley Temple, it must include at least one maraschino cherry. It's textbook. To all that need to learn, see the below photos, depicting the difference between what is and what is not a Shirley Temple. Aside from that betrayal, I will say the beverage itself could use some more grenadine. As shown in the picture, it was a little watered down. There was also very little ice. It has potential, it's just lacking a passion for the classic beverage that one could discover in the future. 1 star for the drink just because you all had cherries and didn't use them. The service was good however the food not so much. I ordered corned beef hash and eggs. It was underwhelming, the corned beef was very dark in color and did not have the texture for corned beef hash. The home fries were probably a couple of days old and had been microwaved to reheat them. My husband had French toast but again it wasn't good. People don't think Silver Diner is a great dinner option in One Loudoun but the menu is surprisingly large and with a farm to table concept incorporating healthy choices too as well as typical diner favorites. Inviting bright indoor space and a big outdoor patio! Service is prompt and friendly. Alcoholic drinks, yes... and there are many... I tried the watermelon cucumber lemonade with vodka. Reasonably priced compared to alcoholic beverage near by. Milkshake is good too. My husband wanted to share a banana chocolate shake with my son and they split it in two milkshake glasses for them. Full with whipped cream in each. Bonus! I got the hummus Greek salad with chicken. Fresh and Yum! The cauliflower pita served with it was so delicious. My husband and one son got pancake and eggs and my other son got country scrambler. All were good. We were too full for dessert but menu looked delicious.
