I've been to several different Silver Diner locations in the area. The food is what I would refer to as elevated diner food, and it's consistently good and fresh tasting. They have a pretty good kids menu, and my daughter loves their pancakes. I often go with the chicken and waffles- the pepper syrup and white gravy give it a southern flair. One exception thing about our most recent visit to the Ashburn location was the service. Our server was simply excellent- friendly, fast, attentive. My fiancé and I took her mother and her father out for her birthday. It was a nice way to finish the morning after some activities around the area. There were a lot of people waiting in line before me but after I put my name down the wait ended up being only five minutes. One thing I love about silver diner is that they have so many different types of options. I decided to go with a breakfast option and have the Lumberjack breakfast with an English muffin. This meal was not only filling but also revitalizing. We all enjoyed our meal. One thing that was special is the entire staff from Silver diner sang happy birthday to my soon to be mother-in-law. My wife and I had a wonderful time for Mother's Day brunch. It was quite busy, but the team handled it well.

I heard from neighbors that service was slow here. BUT the Yelp reviews were pretty good. We came for breakfast early Sat morning. We grabbed some counter seats(there's only about 6-7 seats). Service was quick. Menu was huge including an all day breakfast option. We both ordered omelets. They allowed substitutions on the side dishes. Food was quick to be delivered. I would have preferred my omelet to be much warmer but it was ok. The potatoes and toast that accompanied my meal were all tasty. The location has a very cute outdoor patio. Most people were outside. Like any Silver Diner the menu is way better than an ihop option. Parking is massive. They are right next door to the CVS across from One Loudoun. read more

I must say that of you've never been to a Silver Diner anywhere, you are missing out on an outstanding meal! It is definitely not your average diner though your first impression of the ambience is that it is. But the food is not diner food. Much of the menu uses organic ingredients. Their chicken is Bell and Evans, a true organic pasture raised variety that had the best flavor you've ever had! Now that being said, this review is about my most recent visit...breakfast. I ordered blueberry pancakes and sausage links. The pancakes were the best! Loads of blueberries! And the pancake batter had just a touch of sweetness and a hint of vanilla that really made them the best restaurant blueberry pancakes out there. My only complaint was that the sausages, while delicious, were a bit dry... like they had been reheated. I dont give out a lot of 5 star reviews but i do here and strongly recommend this restaurant. read more

Very impressed by their vegan and vegetarian options! Their menu is creative, but we would probably do without the pistachios and pecans in our pancakes/French toast. I will say the breakfast potatoes lacked some flavor and texture. We sat at the bar so we were able to see how hard the staff worked and how friendly everyone is there. read more

The only thing I can recommend at the silver diner is the food which is the whole point of going out to dinner, isn't it. As far as ambience goes, it's a diner , and the atmosphere is like a diner. If you go when they're busy ,and they're frequently very busy, it's quite noisy so be prepared for that. Also, if you go on a weekend in the evening, it's going to be extremely crowded to the point where there may be a line. However, I've eaten there four times. I've had their liver and onions, I've had their steak, I've had their hamburgers and their soups and salads. Everything is wonderful. My steak was absolutely perfectly done correctly and if you like liver and onions, that's the place to go. The serving sizes are very large, including the salad that goes along with dinner so be ready for that it's big. I love the place. I go whenever I can, but you have to be prepared for the crowd and sometimes the noise but outside of that diner is very very good. read more

My family and I are regular customers. We have been coming here since it opened. All of the servers there give exceptional service. John the general manager is a great manager. You will always see him walking around, making sure you have everything and nothing is missing. My family have had almost all the servers there but we enjoy getting service from Marco. He is always on top of his service and we never have to ask for things as he always brings it before we ask. I came to brunch to enjoy the food and the atmosphere in the end I was completely disappointed by service! I was sitting at table 23 next to the waiters who occupied the next three tables and did the work with the tablewares, as well as the kitchen staff occupied the other two tables and took them lunch. This is unacceptable in a restaurant where customers are, then pay for the food and leave a tip for the service. Where is your manager looking? I can provide a photo of how it was. Terrible! I ordered Bay Benedict and the caesar salad on the side, the main dish was brought, but the salad I had to wait until the waiter passed my table and I asked her to bring me the salad 10 minutes later, for some reason there were no fruits that were supposed with my benedict by menu, I had to wait again. After was no spoon, at my request, she brought me a dirty spoon to eat my fruits. As a result, the service sucks completely, no one has ever checked if everything is in order with my order, while the waiters were sitting next to me and talking. I was paying and leaving a tip, which I always do, that I asked the manager for a conversation. Never come again! read more

Today was their grand opening and they were prepared. We were seated promptly. They had LOTS of servers and the service was excellent. My son had his usual, chicken tenders and chocolate chip pancakes. Yummy as at other locations. I had the pesto bison burger. Bison meat, pesto, goat cheese, roasted red peppers, greens, and tomatoes. (Hold the pickles.) I got edamame on the side instead of the fries. The burger was large (I could only eat half) and absolutely delicious. I have to admit that I was a bit taken aback when I got the check as I hadn't noticed the price of $17.99 on the menu! But I would order it again. Julia our server was pleasant and attentive and got everything exactly right - from no butter on my son's pancakes to an extra plate. She's a gem Two issues - one small and one large. We were a bit disappointed that there were no jukeboxes in the tables - we even brought quarters. :-) On a more serious note, there is an unmarked step right outside the door for apparently no reason. My son actually tripped on the way out - and I expect that it's just a matter of time before someone is seriously injured. I strongly recommend that they replace the step with a ramp or block it entirely with plants or a wall. read more

Adding another review because I had their fantastic chicken and waffles. Again. The waffles and chicken are perfectly cooked, but what really makes this the definitive chicken and waffles are the sauces. Obviously the syrup is there but they also provide gravy and a zesty zippy pepper relish. Initially I kept them apart, but at some point it's all just there and the result is a symphony of delicious flavor with the sweetness, creaminess and tang all dancing on your tongue. The menu is seasonal and I really appreciate the chain sourcing locally (and sharing info on the farmers). The service is always good and meals are prepared in good time. Have had salads, burgers, bruschetta, flat iron steak, and avocado toast - all delicious. Enjoy the interesting iced tea flavors although the decaf coffee recently was not up to par. Went to breakfast there this morning where the food and service was good. I ordered the Philly steak omlet which was good, the only issue I had with it was the steak easily fell out of the omlet which made it kind of annoying to eat. However it came with a biscuit, home fries, and this exquisite red sweet pepper sauce that was to die for. Overall, would get it again just for the sauce.
