It's Back! Crispy Fried Brussel Sprouts

Silver diner is a decent spot to eat. I personally enjoy going there for breakfast but I decided to try this location for lunch. I have no complaints about my burger as it was an average burger. Of course I had to get one of their milkshakes which is a must for me when I go to these restaurants. I'll be back for breakfast.

Our group went for an impromptu lunch at the Silver Diner located in the Gateway Overlook shopping center in Elkridge. It's one of our go to places especially for one of our members who is vegan and she can usually find something that fits her diet. New seasonal Blue Plate BUDGET-FRIENDLY specials are available Weekdays 11am - 4pm, Dine-in only. Two of us selected the Pastrami Reuben sandwich which came with a hill high portion of nice crispy bits of French fries that tasted freshly made. The only thing I wished for was that there be less stringiness to the pastrami. There was also the Shrimp Quesadilla and the vegan eater decided to deviate and chose the Alaskan cod and fries. Everyone enjoyed their meal and our wait staff person was very nice. We went on a Thursday lunch hour which was less busy with no waiting to be seated.

Had such a great experience at Silver Diner today. The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out fast. I really appreciated that the menu has healthier options that still taste amazing. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and made the whole experience feel comfortable from start to finish. The atmosphere was clean, relaxed, and perfect whether you're stopping in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Definitely one of those spots where you leave full and happy. I'll absolutely be back.

The food was great as always! I love seeing their inventive meals like the Benedict smash burger. Make sure you stir the blood orange soda before sipping because the sparkling water sits at the top. Our server, Dena was friendly and apologetic when things took a bit longer than expected. I will be returning because the food never misses.

Visiting my grandparents and they recommended this place. SO YUMMY! Huge restaurant with a giant menu. Love the diner feel, with the red booths and big bar. Server was nice and helpful. Want to go back and try the milkshakes!

It's been about a year since I've have brunch here and they completely changed many things for good reasons! First of all, 5 stars for Paola! She was AMAZING! She was quick, attentive and made our day with her kindness. (We'd love to sit in her section again!) The menus are refreshing and the booths as well. The atmosphere feels calmer and the food is still great. Again, this is an update and a shout out to Paola!

Interior is extremely adorable, with super cute holiday decor, and staff members were very, very sweet. The food was better than anticipated, and much more diverse in nature! Very yummy gem of a breakfast/brunch spot. They also have unique hand crafted sodas and huge milkshakes! Would definitely go again!

The mimosa flight is a must and enough to share! Great service and quick. You can't go wrong with any of the breakfast items!

I was soooo hungry this afternoon and the food here really hit the spot. We were seated right away, though the restaurant was pretty full. We both enjoyed our fruity drinks and the food was very satisfying. I ordered the Bay Benedict. Yum!

First time here and we wish we went here for brunch sooner! Everything was consistently good and we loved that. Servers were nice and attentive, all worked with a smile. Thought it would be a grimy or old chain diner but it looked pretty charming and all of the benches and menus seemed fairly new/redone. Food was great! I know breakfast is hard to mess up but gotta give them credit our protein pancakes and crab bennies were so good. And this was on a busy saturday morning with servers and people flying in and out of the aisles. I don't know how this place is rated lower than a 4 but you gotta go and try them out. Expansive menu that for sure will have your every craving. And why go to those national breakfast chains when Silver Diner exists and is competitively priced,

    Kristina R.

We had a bit of bumpy start as we waited a very long time (around 15mins) for someone to approach us after we sat down, but after we found someone the service was excellent throughout the meal. Christian was wonderful. The watermelon cucumber mint lemonade, non-alcoholic, is refreshing and sweet/tart. The bruschetta appetizer was DELICIOUS, I probably could've ordered two and made it a meal. The sunflower seeds were an interesting touch but it works. Bread is still soft after toasted, nice big portions. The fries looked so basic were almost just looked over them but they tasted amazing, lots of salt (which we like). The crab meat pasta was a special, and it was a huge portion with plenty of crab meat + pasta. Food was great, definitely nicer than your standard diner. Will be back.

Came to our favorite food spot to celebrate my sister in law's arrival. Ryan and Paola got all our orders put in and within 15 minutes we were served. Never a wait at 7pm and we sampled the new drink: Cherry Blossom Punch. They need to keep this on the menu!!! Great food and great servic

I attribute the faster service as the bar is right by the kitchen. Given that in the past service was slow, my hubby placed our order while I shopped at Target in the same shopping center. I shopped for approximately ten minutes and when I got to BJ's, our order came out a minute after I sat down. We ordered and shared our dinner. We got the spinach and artichoke dip for an app. For our entree we got the prime rib, which is only available on weekends. For our two sides, we selected the mashed potatoes and rice pilaf, and the triple chocolate for the pizookie. Our server misheard and gave us the chocolate chunk, but decided just to keep it. We enjoyed everything! No complaints, just happy and full bellies. We used a $100 gift card we received for the holidays and have $50 remaining to use at a future visit. I was delighted with the food and service from start to finish. Yay!!

The fries were delicious, the extra crispy kind that you can't find many places! The cream of crab was so good, I don't like when there are chunks of onion in it and this one was smooth and thick. Those of you who…read moreread my reviews know I typically review either really good or really "not so good" restaurants. I'm breaking my own rules, because I feel the 3.9 rating is pretty accurate, with one 5 star + exception. This was a business lunch and a convenient location so there we were. The duck fries as an appetizer were good but needed to be seasoned with a little more salt. I had a strawberry salad with some grilled chicken that was good with the greens, but dry as the desert with the chicken and borderline inedible. Here's the twist!!! My two compadres both had the grilled cheese and lobster sandwich. They both looked at me sheepishly and said, you f ed up!!! William was kind enough to break off a substantial bite and let me try it. Angels sang, children wept, and I almost passed out! It was the kind of perfection we all agreed we would have eaten 5, maybe 6 of these unnaturally awesome sandwiches until we passed out! 3.5 Star service, 4 Star ambience, and some 10 Star bites! The staff are nice, but service and the kitchen seemed a bit slow on a Sunday early afternoon towards the very end of brunch despite the area we were seated only had a few tables filled. The Crab Cake Eggs Benedict was nothing special - feeling like a flat, single-note dish.. Perhaps it was that the hollandaise sauce lacked the acidity (usually from lemon juice) to brighten the dish. Or, that the nod to Maryland - the Old Bay honey - drizzled around the edges of the dish wasn't enough to elevate it to something that is savored with each bite. The Fluffernutter Blondie is a good dessert choice if you love blondies and peanut butter. Although, it was a bit drier than I'd like, the texture was still soft.

The menu offers a nice balance between curated bowls and build-your-own options, and everything on display looked vibrant and genuinely fresh. Even the subtle aroma of garlic in the air set the tone in the best way. I don't usually go for chicken (I cook enough of it at home), but being from Hawaii, there was no way I was passing up on their limited-time Huli Huli chicken. For those unfamiliar, traditional Huli Huli chicken is typically bone-in, skin-on, soaked in a brine, marinated with a blend of soy sauce, ginger, brown sugar, garlic, and pineapple juice maybe rice vinegar or ketchup, it's all left to the cook. Basted several times as the meat is flipped until fully cooked. Back home, you don't just eat it--you experience it. You smell it long before you see it--grilling on those iconic half oil drum kettles along the roadside, often set up for fundraisers or local gatherings. The sight of chicken quarters being flipped ("huli" means "turn") and basted over open flames is pure island nostalgia. So yes, expectations were high. I was offered a sample, and it delivered. The flavor balance was spot on--savory, slightly sweet, and deeply satisfying. The chicken itself was moist and tender. The only thing missing was that classic crispy, charred skin and the full leg quarter presentation you'd find back home--but even so, it didn't disappoint and left me wanting more. My bowl came together beautifully with coconut sweet potato sauce, fresh spinach, garlicky cilantro green beans, and basmati rice. It was flavorful, well-balanced, and delicious. Service was another highlight--the staff was friendly, patient and helpful with recommendations. The space itself is not large to eat in but it was clean, bright with ocean-toned blues that nod to its island inspiration. I'll definitely be back--especially while that Huli Huli chicken is still on the menu.

The Food: Hits and Misses... On to the food. We started with the cream of crab soup, which was just okay--nothing to write home about. The Brussels sprouts were a bit of a letdown. They were tiny and mostly just fried leaves rather than the hearty sprouts we expected. So if you're imagining those classic roasted Brussels sprouts, this wasn't it. The chicken and waffles were decent in flavor, although the presentation could have used some polish. The pita bread for the crab dip could have been toasted or something more firm and doesn't taste like it was immediately pulled from a bag. Surprisingly, the star of the meal ended up being something as simple as the French fries. They were really tasty and stood out more than some of the fancier dishes. Service and the Final Stretch... Our server was kind and polite, which we appreciated. But the big hiccup came at the end. Their payment system went down, and we ended up waiting over 30 minutes just to settle the bill. After sitting for about 15 minutes we informed our server that we would like to wait in the lounge area to get more comfortable as I understand.... things happen. Although while we waited for about 20 minutes there were no offers of water or anything to make the wait less awkward (not to mention asking for payment without even presenting a bill). It felt like they were more focused on turning the table than making sure we were okay during the delay. Although maybe it was an awkward start to the morning. I will say our server did her best to work things out with the technology she was given. So, I still provided her a fair tip, not her fault. Value for Money... In terms of pricing, it felt pretty average overall, but there were a few eyebrow-raisers. For instance, the avocado toasted croissant--topped with over-easy eggs, baby spinach, and Grana Padano--was $19, which felt a bit steep for what it was. In comparison, a pork schnitzel dish was around $21. So, while the pricing wasn't outrageous, some items definitely made me pause and question the value. Overall Thoughts... In the end, my experience at Elliott's Craft Kitchen was a bit of a letdown. So I'm surprised by some of the reviews (maybe because it was not dinner). While there were a few highlights (like the fries and a well-made Old Fashioned), the service hiccups and the underwhelming dishes mean I'd probably think twice before going back. Definitely not for brunch but I would really consider Dinner after some more reviews. Hopefully they'll iron out the kinks as they get more established.

Service is always great. Free parking in attached garage where you can walk right into the inside of the restaurant. Recently came here for dinner on Father's Day, first time trying Kona ribeye (flavored so its sweeter), had mine done medium rare. Was juicy, not overly chewy, good flavor. Lot of marbling. Had to cut off some big chunks of fat, but other than that was great. Added mushrooms for a surcharge which was well worth it. Their steak I included a side so I opted for spinach risotto, delish. Husband had his Kona ribeye done medium and enjoyed it. Had the smoked old fashioned and the manhattan, both great- manhattan was very strong and didn't even finish it (rare for me) not a bad problem to have. For dessert tried the seasonal PB Oreo cheesecake which was delish. Very filling portions. Only critique was that server was very pleasant but kept forgetting to bring certain things and had to be reminded.
