The menu explains the food and what is in is such as halal and gluten free or vegan and it is very descriptive. The food tastes amazing! I've gotten a double chicken patty sandwich and it's a lot of food. The lumberjack breakfast was amazing and really filling! The waitstaff Is friendly and knowledgeable and makes sure the drinks are full. This is a favorite as I'd been there twice in a week and wish I had something like this back home. Silver Diner is one of our favorite spots. When we are with our niece, she always asks us to go there. Her favorite is the white American cheese grilled cheese. She also says the fresh fries are to be commended. My favorite is the white American grilled cheese and the tomato basil soup. We pretty much get the same thing every time because it is so good. We especially enjoy it in the wintertime. My husband gets different things every time, and he is always pleased with his meal. The servers are typically outstanding at Silver Diner. We loved this place! Cool nostalgic atmosphere with awesome music, food was delicious and the service was great, our server was wonderful. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon, a Philly cheesesteak, both entrees with their amazing fries (seriously, some of the best we've had) and a shrimp scampi entree, which I do wish had a bit more sauce and maybe just a touch less pasta (the portion was ginormous, but very good). So amazing!!! I went to IHOP and spent 94$ for three meals and here I spent 85$ for four meals and when I tell you it was worth my money I'm not joking!! The portion sizes were large and the food was perfectly cooked, we ordered and then within about 7 min all four meals came out, we were eating breakfast around 09:30 so it was busy. Classic blt sandwich - the bacon, lettuce, and tomato ratio was good. The sourdough was nice and crispy. The only downside was my sourdough on the inside was a little soggy from the amount of mayo they put in it. Chunky monkey milkshake - I knew I had to get this when I saw it on the menu. I had real chunks of banana. It was creamy! I wish they didn't put as many chocolate chips in it because it became very overwhelming. Yesterday around 11-12 noon, My BFF Deborah, her cousin Susie and I had just finished with and appointment in the West End and decided to try Silver Diner again and they didn't disappoint. Deborah got a huge Cheeseburger and fries, Susie got the Lumberjack pancakes with eggs over easy, sausage and bacon. I ordered Banana Pancakes Scrambled eggs and bacon. All of our plates looked and tasted delicious we didn't leave hungry. Our server was excellent with waiting on us, checking on us. Thankfully we got there before the lunch rush which was good, I'm sure the meal and service would be just as great if it had been busy. Thanks again for great experience. read more

My wife and I ate here on 7/12/25. We had a great overall experience. See that earlier review. We liked it so much we went back on 7/13/25, with my son, and a complete opposite experience. The waiter did not know the menu and placed the order incorrectly. Both my son and I ordered the cheesesteak sandwich. I ordered mine with peppers and cheese only-no mayo, no onions-exactly like I ordered the night before. My cheesesteak came out without the peppers-not a big deal- just roast some peppers and I'll add it to the sandwich. My waiter kept telling to use a sauce. At about that time, the ceiling started leaking water on the table. We were moved to another table. The manager had my sandwich remade. The bread that was used for my Sandra's different than the bread used the night before and even different from my son's sandwich-right next to me. The waiter then neglected our table. No drink refills, didn't clear away dirty dishes. The manager comped my sandwich. So, my assessment is this place is inconsistent. Therefore, I cannot recommend and will not return. read more

Don't let the juke boxes and diner feel trick you. This diner serves healthy clean food, and beer and wine. I had the Acai Yogurt Bowl and found it impressive. The yogurt didn't have the overly sour taste I expected, and it was definitely not super sweet. The fruit was definitely fresh and the granola added the crunch. The portion was so much I should have only eaten 1/2 of my bowl. There was so much goodness I cleaned the bowl. My husband said the Western Omelette wasn't "dry" as my husband said some can be. He'd give it a 4/5. I ate his yummy biscuit; he swapped for my sourdough toast. The wait staff was attentive and nice. We were offered "to-go"coffee cups. That was unexpected. The place was overall clean. I did notice a couple juke boxes needed some cleaning. A corner table's pole stand and floor needed some cleaning. It is an area for feet after all so it's totally logical to see some dirt. If they get down time maybe a good shining up would be nice but not really necessary for good eats. I was pleasantly surprised by this Silver Diner. I had last visited the chain in New Jersey many years prior and recall not being impressed back then. Alas, new year, new state, new experience. We arrived a little after normal lunch hours and were seated in a booth with a cute little jukebox right away. Our server was very sweet. I requested a coffee and opted to order the cheesesteak omelet without onions. They're apparently a very allergy-conscious chain, which I very very much appreciate considering my sensitive stomach. The omelet was delicious, as was a side of bacon. The coffee was just okay and didn't seem to have much caffeine. It was definitely an affordable and efficient meal. Like I come here fairly regularly but *gasp* I've never written a review. (Very un-Yelp Elite behavior on my part!) How did I figure all of this out today is the question one may ask..... cause I ordered some bomb dot com shrimp and grits. Then grits were the shiiiiiiiit, the shiiiiiiiit shorty. I personalized them by ordering without the ham and sausage- hella good still. Flavor was just delectable. Bloody Mary was eh.... But it did the trick. It's been a long time since I've visited Silver Diner. We ate here a lot when they first opened, but then several other diners opened closer to our home, so we kind of go6 sidetracked. Waking up on a Saturday and craving a good breakfast but not wanting to cook, we decided to visit Silver Diner a try again. I'm so glad we did. The service was great! Within a minute of sitting down we were greeted and offered drinks. Coffee an water all around, and a Chesapeake Bloody Mary and a Spicy Bloody Mary. These are specialty weekend-only cocktails served during brunch. Both were really good and the mix was great. The coffee is also delicious! It's smooth and you get a bottomless cup, and they mean it. Our mugs were topped off regularly. For our meals we ordered the Oaxaca omelette (aka Mexican) with guacamole and the omelette with cremini mushrooms, feta and spinach. Both were made with three eggs and were huge. I could only eat half of mine, although I would have loved to finish it because it was so good. Silver Diner will definitely be on my list from now on. I love that the menu is organic, locally sourced with a focus on balancing great flavors with a healthier menu. read more

Came here for breakfast on a weekday which was delightful as they have low-price weekday specials. For $10 one can get pancakes, eggs, sausage, and coffee, with great tasting items and a great portion. I also enjoy that you can get pancake add-ins like cranberry, which is unusual but actually really works well if you want to mix it up from blueberry. I got the Oaxaca omelet, which is a great price and uses Southwestern flavors which is more unique than other places and also includes wheat toast and fresh fruit, so it's delicious and also feels like I'm being healthy. The service was good and there are plenty of tables, so they are easily spaced out. Definitely was not busy on a weekday so had great service. I've eaten at Silver Diner numerous times. At several locations. And over the last four years we've received great food, good service and a fun atmosphere. But tonight was a bummer. I went in. Had a new server. After I told her I would like water with lemon, which she got, she asked what I wanted to eat. I told her I wasn't sure. She stood there clicking her nails on the counter top. Annoying. She finally said she would come back. About five or so later she. "Are you ready now?" She gruffly asked. I gave her my order. Several minutes went by. The manager brought my food which had been sitting in the window for a few minutes. I needed some muster and had to ask the manager for that. I didn't see her again for several minutes. A few minutes latter, I had to ask another server to refill my water. I finished my food which was only nominally good. She came by briefly a second time and asked if all was okay. Then took off. Another server cleared my dishes. I sat there probably five minutes before she came and presented the machine on which you pay. I paid, not leaving her a tip. Then I left. As I was going out the door I was thinking what happened to one of my favorite restaurants. read more

We stopped here on the way back from a triathlon in much need of some breakfast! We waited in line and then decided to sit at the bar which turned out to be fun as well as being able to sit quickly and not wait in line. That's one thing I'll say if you don't mind sitting at the bar and it's 2-3 people go for it! We ordered our breakfast and we also had mimosas. To top it off I decided to get a Bloody Mary which wasn't bad but wasn't good either. The appearance and feel of the restaurant is old fashioned with a 50's /60's feel ! Our waiter was awesome! Our last hours in Richmond, Virginia and I needed to feed my boys after a long drive from Blacksburg. We landed at this place thanks to a Google search. The restaurant has plenty of parking and soon as you drive up, you turn into Marty McFly with the 50s set up. When we walked in the lack of energy zapped up with the hostess, "why are you here" face. We sat in a booth with a jukebox. The jukebox actually works and you play songs for free in the diner. Our server arrived with a positive attitude and took our order. The place had TV's all over and very clean. One monkey had a cheeseburger for breakfast, the other pancakes and eggs, while I had the Philly Steak omelet. The cheeseburger was small for the price. The pancakes were big yet pretty plain tasting. The omelet was truly non-eventful. The meat was plain no seasoning. My food was warm and I do give the thumbs up to the salsa which brought out some flavor. When I got the check for $59, I felt like Marty as Biff hits him saying "Ah, Hello McFly!"
