Had the lamb burger. It was really, really delicious. However, the menu stated it comes with fries and somehow I got a salad. Whut. Our server, his name was Kunto or Dikembe or Ruggy or something like that, he didn't seem to understand or acknowledge what we were saying half the time. He was barely understandable himself. If you're going to serve a majority of English-speaking in an area that mostly speaks English -- probably the people dealing one-on-one with customers should speak that same language. I ordered a shake for dessert, and dude even asked me what flavor I wanted and such, and then he left. 10-15 minutes later he brought out the check, never acknowledging the shake. He didn't charge us for it, and I didn't bring it up because I was just ready to leave by then. I love what Silver Diner has done to transform itself -- although they need to lose the remnants of the old diner atmosphere and the jukeboxes and whatnot (seriously, why would I give you a quarter when I can play literally anything ever made on my phone?) and just embrace the farmhouse/flexitarian thing fully. The newer menu and focus of the last year or so is really great, and the food is amazing... but just not at the Tysons Corner location. Go to Reston or elsewhere. read more

I have been to this Silver Diner location countless times since I moved to the area a year ago. First their food. There is so much I can say about the food, but I will start with saying that I have never been disappointed by ANYTHING i've ever ordered from SIlver Diner. From Burgers, to Steak sandwiches, and even some of the Vegan menu options, I have always left with my belly full, and my apatite satisfied. The service now, has almost always been consistently fantastic, sans a few times where the waitstaff was no where to be found for drink refills. I was pulled in this diner walking by and glad I did stopped on January 11. They have a large selection of food, including the all-day breakfast. I had not eaten breakfast and was pulled to the Bison Huevos Rancheros or the Eggs Benedict. Coming from Texas, I thought it would be hard to match the Mexican Huevos Rancheros. My last experience was a major letdown. 1 - I found a piece of plastic in my tacos. 2 - Their "fresh" biscuits were rock hard. 3 - Their online ordering system is still pretty glitchy. Sometimes it keeps asking me for my address and not letting me order. Sometimes it doesn't list any options for sides. Sometimes there are too many options (meaning they'll list strawberries as a side but you get fresh fruit instead). This last time it seemed as though you had to pay extra for a bison patty when ordering the Bison Pesto Burger. 4 - They usually include utensils no matter how many times you ask them not to. read more

Excellent breakfast in Tyson's Corner! Everytime I visit Northern Va I usually end up having breakfast here at least one morning! The food is always fresh and locally farmed. This time I had a spinach, mushroom, and feta omelette it was served with breakfast potatoes and a toasted bagel. The 2 previous times we had excellent service, this last time the service was slightly lacking and we had to ask for every little thing we needed because it wasn't available which is why I didn't give it 5*. What a concept! High quality diner food! I am a food snob, I am cautious about where my food comes from, so imagine my surprise when I sit down and see ORGANIC KETCHUP at the table!! I was staying at the Sheraton Tysons Corner for a convention. There actually aren't too many breakfast choices in the area, so on the last morning before leaving the area, I decided to drive out a bit for a real diner breakfast. To be honest, I didn't expect anything close to the caliber of a Jersey diner but Silver Diner did hit the spot. I had a Country Griddle breakfast platter and it was full of gooey cheesy goodness with a biscuit on top! Service was also rather good. In the rush-rush DC area, I didn't expect the server to take the time to explain my choices but he did. Beyond food and service, everything seemed to be in order. The chrome exterior, the jukeboxes (which I didn't try, however), and the bathroom tile floor are all very diner-like. The menu goes to great lengths to stress the local-sourcing of ingredients. That didn't actually matter to me but I'm glad that despite this feature, prices were reasonable. read more

Normally, I am a huge silver diner fan, but my most recent experience at this location specifically was not great. I met one of my best friends whom I hardly ever see here on a Sunday morning and per usual, it was busy. Food was great, coffee was good, but as were finishing up our meal we kept being rushed by our waiter and asked if we were ordering anything else or else "the other people waiting needed our table". I understand that it's busy and it's a Sunday, but how dare you interrupt/ rush me during my meal. read more

Fries, sugar packets and cherry stems all scattered on the floor. There was also several ANTS crawling on our table so I tried to use one of their paper surveys to squish the little sucker, only to find another dead ant squished in between. Looks like the people sitting here before us was dealing with the same issue of uninvited guests. I don't think the food reflects the prices they make you pay for. I got the lumberjack's breakfast and the potatoes were unseasoned, pancakes were pretty small, bland and lacking in texture as well. Came in on a Friday morning for a quick quality breakfast and settled on the country scrambler. It was so flavorful, perfectly cooked and you get a nice variety of food. Service was excellent as was the atmosphere with classic oldies being played. Each table had a jukebox so you can select what you want to hear. There is also plenty of parking around the diner. This is my go to spot for breakfast. I am so in love with how many gluten free options they have and all the ingredients that they use are from local farmers. To me, that is an awesome concept especially when it comes to supporting local businesses. To start, there is always plenty of parking and even if you're in line on the weekend, the wait is never more than 10 minutes. The consistency of the cooking is what really gets me here. My usual dishes are the Quinoa Coconut Pancakes or Caramel french toast and it has always been cooked to perfection every time. The menu has a wide variety of options and you can order what you want, when you want. The staff is also super friendly every time and has really changed my mentality on diners. Each booth also has a jukebox which plays some pretty awesome throwbacks like MJ which makes the dining experience a little more exciting. This is my 2nd review for this location. After several years this location still suffers from inconsistency. I again ordered the Huevos Rancheros which were well prepared (not to difficult to reheat a prepared package). However my 10 ur old son ordered eggs (over easy) & pancakes. Surprisingly his eggs came not fully cooked. When brought this to the attention of our server (twice) I was completely ignored. He was too busy putting the check in front of me. There's nothing more disappointing when a customer has to complain and manage the front line staff. I was craving for fish & chips so I ordered the plate instead of usually breakfast food. Everything was on that plate I finished them because it was so delicious. Their fish were fresh and the breaded were not dry. I have eaten fish and chips elsewhere in CA, they were over fried and fish were not fresh. They're too focused on supposedly healthy offerings without giving you a choice to be indulgent. Healthy eating should be a choice, not a dictate. Go elsewhere for real diner food. A colleague insisted we try this place so I came in with him and others on a cold Thursday night. We were immediately greeted by a nice young fella who gave us excellent service for the rest of the night. I built my own bison bees burger with sweet potato fries and beer, then had an Oreo shake. Overall it was acceptable food but I honestly wasn't too impressed. The burger was stale and just boring, the fries were ok and the shake was just watery. The beer selection was limited but I thought the flying dog pale ale was alright. I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you really have no other option, or your 7 year old nephew wants to eat somewhere where there's a juxebox he can sit next to, or you happen to be accompanied by foreigners who when they go back home want to be able to tell their friends they ate at an American diner and it's true what they say the food really does suck in the US. read more

This is a usual spot for me and my friend however after this last visit that will be changing. I ordered a steak entrée which comes with blue cheese on top. When I ordered this meal, I requested that no blue cheese be put on top of the steak due to my allergy. When the order arrived, it arrived with blue cheese on top. I am such a fan of breakfast food so I frequent this place a few times a year and while the food is good, I just came to the realization that the food is always lukewarm. I recently got the chocolate chip pancakes (3 huge pancakes for only $9.95 I believe!) and they came out lukewarm, at best. I usually like my pancakes hot from the griddle. I noticed the same thing for the banana stuffed french toast, it is usually lukewarm. I think I will give Silver Diner another try because their banana stuffed french toast is my favorite, but I'm hoping they fix the temperature issue that I've been noticing. read more

I really wanted to like them. The decor is cute and the atmosphere is nice. The theme could work but my God, that was the worst breakfast I've ever had. I ordered a scrambler, a diner classic and it was 90% onions and peppers, barely any eggs. Not to mention the sausages used in it were canned Vienna sausages.
