The Silver Diner has come a long way. I used to have all my networking meetings here when I worked in Tysons. Looking at the breakfast crowd, it's a good networking place. I love the menu choice with a lot of options. I didn't notice if they still had the Senior breakfast special which is a bargain. I love the bottomless coffee you get here. I chose the Oaxaca Omelette and it didn't disappoint. Service was great. I find it kind of funny my girlfriend and I traveled over three hours from Philadelphia to Virginia and we ended up splitting the Philly Steak Farm Fresh 3-Egg Omelet. The picture you are viewing of the Omelet is half of it as it comes in a size that is sure to leave you full or having loads of leftovers. The meat that comes inside it is sliced ribeye and is not greasy in the least bit. Most surprising item that came with this meal for me was the zesty slightly hot sauce that you can dip this monster in. If you want added flavor dip that jawn in there at your own risk. Biscuit was average, home fries slightly above average. We added Cremini Mushrooms for $1.29 to the omelet which it did not need but was a nice addition. There are eleven locations for Silver Diner in the state of Virginia and I highly recommend if you want a fast and affordable meal stop in and check it out. As always people SYOY!!! read more

I have never been a fan of the Silver Diner. This location was more of the same. The server was fine. She was attentive with refills of iced tea or soda. The food was subpar. I had a tuna melt for lunch. I guess you could say the fries were fine. Interior was the same as all others and actually gave an extra star as this was somewhat cleaner than some others I've eaten at. A wonderful place to eat in Falls Church The Silver Diner restaurant chain was founded in 1989 by Ype Von Hengst and Robert Giaimo in Rockville, Maryland. According to their website, the founders wanted to create a restaurant that combined the nostalgic feel of a classic American diner with modern dining trends, including healthier and locally sourced menu options. Over the years, it has grown to include more than 20 locations across the Mid-Atlantic region. I recently visited the location off the east side of Porter road in Falls Church. This particular location has parking in front and larger lot behind the site. It is located in a stand-alone building. Inside, it offers a nostalgic yet modern dining experience, blending classic diner charm with a contemporary twist. They have a diverse menu catering to various dietary preferences, including vegan and plant-based options. The interior combines retro aesthetics with modern comforts, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all. You enter and are seated by a host at one of the many tables and booths. We got a booth. The restaurant was clean although the shiny surfaces showed a lot of smears which took a little bit away from the great look. The server was efficient and pleasant. I ordered teh special of Waffle, eggs and bacon. The food came out quickly and was excellent tasting. The prices were reasonable for the location and economy. The menu has tons of vegetarian options now and lot more than just breakfast options. It's packed on weekends especially for breakfast. I was super impressed with the food options yesterday. The prices have definitely gone up from what it used to be. Here is what I ordered: - Avocado Toast : this was delicious and a very good size portion. I loved it. - Chickpea Hummus and cauliflower pita : this was so good. Easily shareable. - Kids have tons of options. My son got Belgian waffles with eggs. I came to dine here on a whim with friends, but unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. I've been to several Silver Diner locations, and many have been super accommodating when I request to order off the kids menu due to my medical needs. I explained to the server that I have had a Gastric Bypass and physically cannot eat that much food. He was polite but told me that the manager, Allison, denied my request and that he would get in trouble if he let me order from the kids menu. Not accommodating guests with medical conditions is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. Because of this, I chose to leave and did not eat here at all. We come from NJ, diner Capitol of the world, so we were not expecting much. The ambiance is 50s retro, clean, well lit. Staff were friendly. Our waitress Taniece, was very helpful in picking an entrée, although she pretty much recommended everything. We all settled on burgers. Two of us has smashed burgers and one had a regular cheeseburger. All were cooked to perfection, delicious and hearty portions. I found the fries to be a little salty for my taste. I had substituted fries for a tomato soup which was absolutely delicious. It was in between upscale diner and restaurant but the prices were reasonable. They had quite a few specials. Liberty was amazing! My dish came with fresh tomatoes. I asked for no tomatoes. But my meal also came with black bean salsa. Silver Diner is the perfect dinner location for me and my family. Although upon coming in a lady was screaming at the servers regarding the temperature even though it was perfectly fine.... Fortunately everyone handled it perfectly well and I admire that from everyone after getting all that disrespect. We got attended quickly and promptly. This place should be a favorite go to place - huge selection of delicious menu items for break, lunch and dinner. The REAL plus is this - local farm fresh suppliers and lots of healthy options. This is nice switch on traditional diner foods with just really good looking and good tasting food. I don't know what SD does to get these employees because they really are exceptional - attitude, on top of things (do they really enjoy their job THIS much?!!). The food was fine Unfortunately the experience was hampered when I asked for a table for 1 and the host made me sit at the bar. There were tables open. A 2 top wouldn't have been so terrible to give to me. Like all bars it was loud and full of strangers. I'm doing dry january and sitting at the bar doesn't help. But this bar was also freezing cold. Every time the front door opened a draft came right to us so I kept my hat and coat on the whole time. After a terrible experience at Busara , with no dessert available at all, we decided to stop by at nearby Silver Diner to order some dessert. What a different exceptional experience. We were placed at a booth managed by server Brandon, a very courteous, friendly and very efficient . We mentioned were there just for dessert and rather than look glum as he probably expected a small bill and tip, he remained attentive, friendly, took pictures and we actually ordered a lot of dessert: chocolate cake; bread pudding; coffees and hot chocolate. When the bill came it was $26.98 and we tipped him 100% of the bill. It was so nice to see his eyes light up when he saw our tip. The decor is that of a typical 50's diner. Each booth even has a juke box. Pretty cool even for the kids to play with. The service was quick and polite. The food was a little pricy in my opinion. $80 for two adults and two children for breakfast is too much. My omelette lacked any flavor however my children and wife's meals were pretty good.
