    Mongolian bbq
    Eliza P.

The chicken wings were perfectly crispy with the best crunch, the Mongolian flavors were absolutely excellent, and the soup, appetizers, and fried rice were all wonderful. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and definitely worth coming back for!

First time here and let me say it was one of the best Mongolian bbq places I've ever been and it was nice because it also comes with fried rice, an egg roll, and a soup. Very tasty! I will definitely be back.

This place flat-out delivers. I've been coming here for years, and not once have I had a bad meal. The food is always on point, the staff is consistently friendly, and they make you feel welcome every time. Looks like they remodeled too, and the place looks great. If you're into Mongolian food, this is absolutely one of Sacramento's top spots. Good food, good people, no nonsense. That's why I keep coming back.

Shrimp with lobster sauce dinner combo

Oh boy! I do not know wherever start with this review. So I will do my best respectfully. I am here for lunch today and when I enter no greeting just asked if I wanted to order the Mongolian BBQ or order off the Chinese food menu. I originally opted for the Mongolian BBQ I started putting food in my bowl and realized once I got to the vegetables and some of the sauces there were peanuts sprinkled in over half of them so it was a hard no for me. As I have a peanut allergy and I've never seen peanuts placed so close to the Mongolian BBQ food so this was a first for me. I went to the cashier and let them no one of them looked surprised that peanuts were in the toppings and asked if I wasn't to order from the Chinese menu? I was fine with that and the lady apologized. I ordered the Shrimp with lobster sauce dinner combo that comes with fried rice, chow Mein, crab Rangoon, spring roll and soup of the day. I also ordered shrimp egg foo young with the brown sauce in the side as well. The restaurant does have ample seating for guest the inside isn't really decorated expect with windows lol. I receive my food and everything looked delicious but looks and tastes are two different things. My shrimp egg foo young with shrimp wasn't cooked inside it was mixed in the with brown sauce with an egregious amount of veggies that too away from the sauce. I never seen anything served like that. To be honest it was terrible so I asked for plain brown sauce with nothing in it. The egg foo young alone was just okay nothing to write home about and I wouldn't order it from here again. The first sauce that they gave me was so salty and the shrimp even saltier so I could not eat it was disgustingly salty. So, I tried the shrimp in my shrimp with lobster sauce and the shrimp was just as salty and I couldn't eat it either. My waiters saw I didn't touch the shrimp with lobster sauce and asked it I wanted to box it up? I said, no. She asked if something was wrong and I said the shrimp in both meals are extremely salty. I am going to assume I came on a bad day as another table had issue with their food as well. I was asked if I wanted to order something else and it was a hard no for me. I was only willing to pay for my egg foo young as the egg foo young plain with just the veggies inside was okay. The other dish I only ate 1 shrimp and couldn't eat it. I really wanted to like this place, but didn't they really need to taste their cooking before they serve because this is one of the worst Chinese food places I eaten at in Sacramento hands down. I more than likely will not return if I want Mongolian BBQ I will stick with Li's Mongolian BBQ on Manzanita in Carmichael .

Delicious! Cant believe it's taken so long to get out here. This is a build your own traditional Mongolian BBQ with a full traditional Chinese menu. The entrance is a bit jammed because number one the parking lot is small and shared with other store fronts and once inside the check in desk is right next to the line for the Mongolian BBQ. So upon entry it can feel a bit overwhelming in a busy night. We did both the Mongolian as well as Chinese food options and we were completely satisfied with every single item. My favorite item from the Chinese menu was the fried rice, orange chicken and the general chicken. For the Mongolian they only have one type of noodle to choose from but they have a ton of sauces and toppings. If you are in the area or craving Chinese/Mongolian definitely check out this place.

    Combination lunch special w/broccoli beef

This is my go to place for Chinese food. My husband introduced me to this restaurant over 10 years ago, they didn't disappoint then and they don't disappoint now! I always get the same thing, the combination lunch special. It comes with an egg roll, chicken chow mein, chicken fried rice or steamed rice and your choice of a handful of entrees. If you dine in, it includes soup. I ordered the broccoli beef. The price was $12.95, totally affordable, especially in this economy. The chow mein is sooooo good and flavorful, the rice is good, the meat in the broccoli beef is just okay and the egg roll is just okay, it tastes like they just stuff it with cabbage. The portion size is huge!!!! Check it out for yourself, oh and they offer Mongolian BBQ as well.

The best Mongolian BBQ in town! The portions are generous and big but the best part is the food is super delicious. I love their salt and pepper wings and spare ribs, so crispy, flavorful, and juicy! The honey walnut shrimp is another favorite as the shrimps are big crispy and the sauce is just so good. The Mongolian noodle bar has many options and is always cooked perfectly by the chefs. Overall everything is delicious, just go try it for yourselves, it won't disappoint!!

Perfect crispiness and actually crispy walnuts. I think a crispy walnut in a honey walnut shrimp is a must. IDK how I went for so long without being obsessed with honey walnut shrimp. the green beans were delicious. even getting them takeout, they remained crispy. They were also well seasoned. It was a chilly garlic rather than just garlic, which I liked. normally I feel like garlic green beans are under seasoned, but these ones were well done, flavoring wise. The orange chicken was really good. It actually tasted like purposeful seasoning rather than just relying on the orange to carry it. I wish it was crispier, but it probably would've been had I ordered it in restaurant. I wish the chicken pieces were smaller, but that's my personal preference. The chicken was really good quality/ cuts of meat. No fat or weird textured pieces.

We decided to try a little bit of everything and here is what we ordered: hot and sour soup, potstickers, spicy cucumbers, BBQ pork, BBQ pork fried rice, Mongolian beef, and honey walnut shrimp. The food came out fast and piping hot. Pretty soon our entire table was covered with dishes. We started with the hot and sour soup, which we both felt was lacking in the flavor department. It didn't have that spicy tang that you look for when you order hot and sour soup. The potstickers were fried crispy, but the dough was a little too thick. The spicy cucumbers had no flavor to them at all. And the honey walnut shrimp was not memorable. We both felt that the two best dishes were the BBQ pork fried rice and the Mongolian beef. The beef was tender and had good flavor. The prices were extremely fair and the portions were large, but all in all this was not my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area.

I appreciate that this a spot that both vegetarians and their omnivore friends can go~ Have to go back to try their desserts including the egg tarts that sold out!

Its been so bad the past decade that we decided to give it another chance. Different management, different chefs, different everything basically. The fried flounder was so fried that I could not separate the bones, not only that, you could barely get any meat out of it. Our table had nine people and they only provided 6 buns with our peking duck. I thought they didn't have enough steamer space and was going to bring more but nope. The shrimp in their salted egg pumpkin and shrimp dishes was overcooked and their deep fried pig intestines were extremely stinky. Their portion sizes downsized like crazy and it's so bad that we didn't even finish any of the dishes. The best dish was a stir fry cauliflower dish that I could make at home. It was supposed to come with pork, but I only saw itty bitty pieces of meat. The service was also super bad and slow. I was eating their fried rice and bit on a piece of broken yellow plastic with multiple sharp points. Prior to that, I was feeding my toddler the rice so THANKFULLY it didn't go to him. When we told the server, which was an older lady with glasses and bangs, she's like oh... then she took it to the kitchen and pretended that nothing had ever happened when she came back out. Shes been there for years, and I remember seeing her when we were regulars. I wasn't expecting anything, except for some accountability. I used to love this place so it's pretty sad to see how much it went downhill.... This business needs to be scrapped. The current 3 stars is giving them too much credit and it must have been due to when they used to be good, in the past.
