I've finally made to The Coconut Fulton! I've passed this location so many times as I'm so used to the River Park location. I was craving Thai food and wanted to check out a different place and the first Thai restaurant show up on the app was this location so I decided to go ahead and check them out. I arrive and it was one waitress and the place was busy which is a good sign. I waiting less than to minutes to be both greeted and seated. I figured it would be longer considering the situation. There is plenty of seating for diners which is a huge plus if you have a group. I was brought water and a menu. I ended up ordering the Tom Kha with seafood add $6 with a side order of sticky rice. I ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and for dessert sticky rice with mango and coconut ice cream. The portions are very generous too! My service was great and the waitress was very attentive considering how busy it was. My food was amazing. I left full and content. I will for sure say, I will be patronizing the Fulton location more frequently. If you haven't checked out The Coconut Fulton you a missing out on some snacking Thai cuisine. read more

Very disappointing!!! I had a very frustrating experience at this Thai restaurant. The waitress was rude, and I felt pressured and uncomfortable when I was repeatedly pushed to leave a tip. Tipping should be the customer's choice, especially when the service is poor. The food was also disappointing. I ordered mild food, but it was served very spicy, and some of the food was overcooked. I was waiting on my BESTIE to finish her hair appt with Brian at Jeanee & Company when I decided to grab a bite to eat without her. I have passed The Coconut Fulton dozens of times and have had a craving for some good Thai food... this seemed to be the place to try.. ya never know!! I pulled into an empty parking lot and walked in. The interior was beautiful. The seats of the booths were a beautiful blue color with wooden floors and tables with a nice finish. I was told to pick any table and I was handed a menu of one page. Appetizers, soups, salad sides, entrées, and desserts. Drinks, too, but I stuck with ice water. My favorite! I decided to order the Praram Chicken... grilled chicken marinated in Thai herb with steam vegetables, topped with peanut sauce. It arrived shortly after ordering and.. it was very vibrant. Colorful. Very well plated and stunning. I could already tell I was not going to finish it, there was so much food. I received a sauce caddie with chili oil and soy sauce as requested. I tried the chicken by itself. It was on the drier side and I couldn't taste any Thai herb seasoning. I dipped into the peanut sauce and too much was overwhelming. The rice was good and the vegetables were on the harder side of steamed. There were so many, my jaw got tired of chomping. If I'm being honest, I thought the chicken was bland, the steamed veggies were barely steamed, and I wish that I had just left. I drizzled chili oil and soy sauce on the chicken to give it more flavor. I tried to finish most of it just for the purpose of getting some protein. We drove past this restaurant many times but one evening after work we finally tried it out! We were quickly seated at a booth and given menus right away. I noticed there was a note about $2 beer if I could show that I checked in on Yelp, so I immediately checked in. When the server came to our table, I asked if they still had that beer special and she said she would still give me the $2 beer even if I didn't check in on Yelp. I whipped out my phone to show her that I indeed was able to check-in, so she was really happy about that. And just like that, I got a $2 beer to share with the husband. We ordered the papaya salad (thai style), tom kha (coconut soup with chicken), drunken noodles and mango sticky rice. We loved the subtle sweetness and tang of the tom kha and the fresh salad and noodles all complemented each other nicely. The noodles had fresh veggies in them and weren't overcooked. I like a little bit of spice but they adjust it according to your liking. Everything was fresh and we didn't have to wait very long for our food to arrive. The mango sticky rice was the star of the show. The mango was finely sliced and shaped into a heart. Both me and my husband said "awww" as the server placed the dessert on the table. Not sure if they do this with every mango sticky rice but it made us smile! And it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet and had the right amount of coconut flavor without tasting artificial. IT WAS DELICIOUS! Just as good as Coconut on T! This is a restaurant owned by the same owners, with the same menu, and same delicious food. My friends and I decided to try this other location for fun. The basil entree with mixed vegetables was delicious. I loved the basil. We also shared mango sticky rice which is always absolutely delicious! So fresh. The mango was super sweet. My friends got Thai fried rice with chicken, see ew with tofu, and pad Thai with tofu. Each of us really likes our meals. I will definitely be back. The food is just as good as their other location. This place is very decent. The food is decent quality and had all great flavors you would expect. Often when I have Curry, I take a look at the ratio of vegetables versus meat and it's always vegetable dominant. Service was nice and we were seated immediately upon arriving. I love Thai food, and it's becoming increasingly more difficult to find a really good Thai restaurant in Sacramento. When one of my favorite dining companions suggested that we try the coconut on Fulton, I was all in. Yes, this is now becoming a local "chain", since they have a few locations. This was without a doubt, one of the most disappointing meals. Services suite, and courteous, but the food just absolutely not good. We started with spring rolls. First of all, it feels like they just charge a lot of money, by taking one roll and cutting it into little pieces. It's ridiculous. The roll left little to be desired. From the Rice paper all the way to the filling. The rice paper tasted like it had been sitting out on the counter. It was rubbery and just gross. The filling was mediocre at best. The tofu was also kind of rubbery tasting. It just wasn't fresh tasting and the dipping sauce left little to be desired. I did make a request for the standard Thai chili sauce, but apparently they had no idea what I was talking about. The beef salad: it was pretty underwhelming. Well, the veggies and the salad were fresh, the meat left little to be desired. It was bland, and overcooked. The chicken Lab: no one should ever have a sad meal, and this was absolutely a sad meal. The chicken Larb was something that never should've been served. Not only was the meat overcooked, but it was completely unseasoned. It tasted like they literally had heated up ground chicken and then served it. Wait, that might've been better than what was on the plate. Larb should be sweet, spicy, flavorful, and this was just so sad. Not a place that I'll go back to... And it's sad to add this to my list of places not to visit again read more

Yum! My friends and I have been to other locations of The Coconut and have always had a great time, so we decided to try out this one too. I got the pad see ew with tofu. It was delicious! Great balance of salty and sweet. The mango sticky rice is also fantastic - really lets the natural flavors of the ingredients shine through. I absolutely love The Coconut! Usually my friends and I go to the one located in Midtown, not realizing it's the same restaurant/owners. The food is phenomenal here, every dish we've tried has been delicious, filling, and well priced. The restaurant is clean, beautiful inside, the food comes out quickly, and the staff are very nice. There are tons of vegetarian options here as well! My favorite items are the yellow curry, pad see ew, thai fried rice, and the mixed veggie plates. I just had their mango sticky rice and it is a must order, the rice is perfectly sweet (not overly), the coconut ice cream is delightful, and the mango was perfectly ripe. I ordered a salmon salad, the salmon wasn't fully cooked, prior to this I had ordered the same thing and it was fully cooked. She said they sell it like that raw and that if I wanted it fully cooked I have to request it. I order around 1pm they close for a break between 2-4:30pm so I had to wait till they opened up at 4:30pm mind you this the salad it came with was soggy by the time I went back. They literally re cooked the same salmon and gave me the soggy hot salad instead of at least replace it. We will no longer come here as this experience is unforgettable. read more

I've been coming to The Coconut Fulton for many years. A lot of the OGs in the Arden area will remember this as the old Thai Chef House restaurant. It's great to see that they kept a majority of the dishes. My current rotation here is the Drunken Noodle with Beef (Or Chicken), Chicken Pad Thai, and Green Chicken Curry with White Rice. My all time favorite is the Drunken Noodle With Beef. The way it is seasoned with the mixture of vegetables, pan fried flat rice noodle and spice is absolutely perfect. The drunken noodle is the best dish in my personal opinion and the reason I keep coming back to Coconut Fulton. Coconut Fulton is super underrated due to it being in the Arden area. Most folks associate good Thai food to be in the midtown or downtown area. This spot in Arden does a great job! If you haven't been then please try the Drunken Noodle here. Located close to the Trader Joe's, Coconut Fulton has a welcoming atmosphere with lots of light wooden features and Thai decor. Have eaten here a number of times - my go to is the Drunken Noodles with Tofu. Love the amount of spice, medium hits the spot. The flat rice noodles have just the right amount of bite and texture, the vegetables are fresh and the tofu is firm. Service was friendly and efficient! When I was here on a Sunday evening, the place was packed, which is always a good sign - I don't want this place to go. read more

I just don't understand how, time after time, year after year, they continue to emaciate the noodles in their noodle dishes. It's such a letdown. The Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) actually has pretty decent flavor, but consistently ruining the texture of the noodles is a dealbreaker for me. Noodles should be in noodle form soft and girl and not shredded and bunched together. There's so much potential here, but the execution just misses the mark year after year. read more

So nice!! It was so nice inside I wasn't expecting it. It has jazz music playing in the background at a low volume. Looks like a nice wine and beer selection. The staff is attentive and kind and very fast. We got the pad Thai with chicken, calamari and a green curry. All of them were very light and delicious. This was my first time visiting this restaurant and the staff made us feel very welcomed as soon as me and my mother stepped in. We ordered the chicken green curry, mixed vegetables with tofu, and Thai boat noodle, all were packed with good flavor and tasted fresh. I also ordered the Lao sausage with white and brown rice to-go, and that was just as delicious. (Didn't take photos for that.. sorry). Coconut Fulton, seems to be an extension of the "coconuts" downtown. It is not as busy, but it still has the same cleanliness and quality as the other ones. The interior decor is clean and nice! We got the special kao soi and pad thai. The kha soi was about a 3/5, but the pad thai was spot on. Even mild was somewhat hot for us. It's also close to sprouts and trader joes. You could grab a quick bite and get your groceries done. Service was great as well. My review is a little bit lower because what I was seeking was a really good kao soi. It had good flavorings, but the fried noodles tasted a little bit older, and the wet noodles were clumped together... just not what I was expecting. We made it in time for their happy hour so we were able to order a few appetizers to share, the food came out really quickly and we order family style type of dishes too. we had a vegetarian with us so we were able to order a lot from the menu to accommodate the person. I've been to The Coconut on T Street but didn't realize they had multiple locations. Apparently they make all the sauces on T street and deliver them to the other locations daily! That's what our server said anyway. This location used to be another Thai restaurant that was pretty tasty, so we were curious to see how it is now. The decor was similar, with less of the art. The Tom Kha w/chicken was no where near the best we've had. Actually, I didn't really care for it too much. It was way to heavy on the fish sauce and lacking on the coconut milk/broth/other flavors. I was bummed. However, the red curry, eggplant, and curry noodles were all delicious! My sister said her potstickers were some of the best she has ever had - now that's saying something! We finished with the mango sticky rice and coconut ice cream which was delicious!! I would love for them to rework the Tom Kha so I could give them 5 stars. read more

My review is based the the food. The ladies that work there are very nice. The services was very helpful. I ordered tofu Se Ew noodles, chicken wings and green curry. All the dishes lacked flavor. Green curry was watered down & they forgot to add tofu . Se ew noodles also had no flavor like they didn't add enough sauce. The tofu in this plate looked like its been sitting out for a while.
