We celebrated my husband's birthday here a couple months back. It was our first time, and it completely lived up to the hype! The restaurant aims to be a neighborhood gathering spot with a casual, comfortable atmosphere, drawing inspiration from Mister Rogers' Neighborhood in its concept and decor. It's incredibly charming, though I kept looking around expecting a trolley to roll past my table or a puppet to ask how my day was going! The food was a total hit. We kicked things off with the Pickled Veggies & Caesar Salad before diving into the mains: a seriously juicy Burger & Fries for the birthday boy and a super rich, creamy Roasted Eggplant Risotto for me. We topped it all off with the warm Ricotta Cinnamon Fritters. So goood! Such a fun vibe and stellar food. Beautiful day in the neighborhood, indeed!

Food was good, but it was a little bit. The price is kind of expensive, $16 for a bowl of rice and turmeric chicken. I loved the atmosphere and service though. The waitress was very courteous and respectful. The decor was cozy and quaint. I loved the "Mr. Roger's" theme. It didn't dawn on me the "Lady Elaine" was the same Lady Elaine from Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. I would consider going back for special occasions. Good service and ambie

Located in Manoa Marketplace with an interesting name. It was a nice restaurant with a Mediterranean menu. I went with my friends to celebrate their birthday. We ordered a few dishes to share. -Hummus and pita: love hummus and pita, extra pita bread for the soup too - Soup of the day: don't remember the name, but had cauliflower blended in. It was pretty good and flavorful - Turmeric chicken: My favorite dish! The chicken was stir fried with vegetables with rice. Very delicious! - Roasted Eggplant Risotto: It reminds me of oatmeal, but was cheesy and tasty. Since it was my friend's birthday, the server brought over some lemonade mixed drink. It was very refreshing. Nice place for a girl's brunch date. Cute decor and nice atmosphere. Love the food! Amazing service!

Came on a Tuesday for lunch right as they just opened. It was not crowded, food came quickly, and service was attentive. We were a party of three. We ordered family style-- baba ghanoush, extra pita, shawarma fries, turmeric chicken bowl, catch of the day bowl, and mushroom orecchiette bowl. My eyes were bigger than our stomachs coz the bowls don't look like they'd be filling but they actually were! Everything was tasty. The shawarma fries seasoning was very strong tho and the baba ghanoush became very mild by comparison. Service was prompt, friendly, attentive, and patient. Our waters were refilled very regularly. We were also given a bag each to place our bags. Reasonable prices if shared family style. Good for a nice relaxing lunch.

Lady Elaine completely blew us away. My best friend and I are always trying somewhere new together, and after so many places, I could not help but share our experience. What we loved most about Lady Elaine was how genuine everything felt. Great food aside, the staff and overall atmosphere made it feel like a place people truly enjoy being in. It crazy how effortlessly they balanced both quality food and ambience. Usually it feels like you have to sacrifice one for the other, but Lady Elaine somehow nailed both. The food was beautiful, fresh, comforting, and full of flavor -- the kind of meal you keep thinking about after you leave. We loved sharing the Mediterranean-inspired dishes, the portions, gave us the chance to try a little bit of the menu together, and left our stomachs quite content. They were also kind enough to bring out a few complimentary items for us to try while we waited for our ordered dishes, which was very thoughtful. We got to try the Chermoula Shrimp, enjoyed little glasses of limoncello as a sweet treat after dinner, and they even brought out pita bread so we could soak up the sauce from the meatballs -- honestly too good to leave behind. Add a couple glasses of wine, great conversation, and such a genuine atmosphere, and it honestly turned into one of our favorite dining experiences we've had. We left already knowing this would be one of many visits to come. Such a special little gem. *Parking: Parking was a bit packed around 07:30pm but we were able to get a spot within 5 mins. *Total For 2 Glasses of Wine, Cauliflower Dish, Meatballs, and Risotto -- around $85 dollars subtotal. Not including the complimentary food items we received but our overall total included our generous tip for stellar service.

A cute place in Manoa that's great for big parties and has many vegetarian option. On food alone, though, the owner's other restaurant two doors down, Little Plum, is better. We came with a party of 6 on a weekday and made reservations the day of without issue, but it was busy and lively when we arrived. We shared everything family style as they recommend, and ordered a good portion of the menu. Our favorites were the mushroom orecchiette, heirloom carrots, and charred cabbage. The blistered tomato rigatoni was definitely a skip (just mediocre tomato sauce on pasta with no blistered tomatoes - easily something that could be made at home). Nothing was bad, but most dishes weren't especially mind blowing and again, Little Plum is much better. Overall this place is decent and easy for big groups but won't be one of my go-to spots in the marketplace.

My friend and I went to Lady Elaine for dinner one night. It was partially because Little Plum was booked full, so we decided to try lady Elaine knowing we could make a resi. We got a few dishes to share and a couple glasses of wine and it was a perfect girls' night out. I like Manoa marketplace for it's easy parking and convenience of being in the heart of Manoa. Lady Elaine is a relatively new restaurant. I remember when it was a Japanese buffet a long time ago. I think it was some other things before it became lady Elaine. The menu is a nice size, not too big and not too small and there is a variety of different kinds of foods, perfectly fusiony for people who are indecisive and want to try different things. Haha. The inside is nicely decorated and on a week night, it was surprisingly crowded inside. The service was great, too. While I like eating family style and sharing dishes, idk if this is a place to go if you want your own food. The portions are a bit small, which makes it better for sharing. I tried the orange wine which was interesting haha. They have other interesting drink options too. I'd be back :) especially because I heard they dropped prices.

Had a girls night and wanted to try a new spot. We made a reservation online and got our table immediately after checking in. The decor and transformation of the space is great - it has a modern feel and the attention to details makes the place upscale. For food, we started with warm bread and babaganoush. A great start to the meal - or maybe we were just hungry. For our mains, we shared the charred cabbage - recommended by our waitress - and the chermoula shrimp. I would say the standout was definitely the shrimp - very flavorful and savory. I'd definitely be back for it! Their drinks were also tasty - I got an espresso martini. I love that they have "tiny tinis" which are mini sized martini cocktails as well - super fun and the glass is so cute! This is a great date night or nice dinner spot if you're looking for Mediterranean food.

Who's Lady Elaine? It's one of the characters on Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood! Maybe a little random to some. I just remembered the red Neighborhood Trolley. Those of us who did watch it probably can't remember anymore lol. Lady Elaine is located in the Manoa Marketplace - around and behind Safeway. There's a decent amount of parking, which can fill up. I believe the concept of Lady Elaine is neighborhood, and you feel that before you even walk in the front door! A cheerful host opened the door before we even came in. Nice touch! That welcoming vibe does set the tone. The inside is quite spacious with an open kitchen and bar, and large dining room with spaced out tables. Small details such as baskets to put on the floor for purses and bags, items for children to keep busy, changing of plates, making sure the food comes out at certain times, and etc. really enhances the dining experience - even though this more of a casual restaurant. The menu is Mediterranean with a very nice variety of meats, seafood, vegetables, pasta, and etc. Prices are very reasonable. The Chicken Tenders (yes, can order from the Keiki section for adult consumption) were good. Nicely breaded and fried, large and tender, and seasoned enoigh. The fries were the best! Nicely seasoned, crispy, and potatoey. Bread and Butter was okay. Bread crust was on the toothsome and dry side and it was not warmed enough. Butter spread was good. Light and herbaceous. Warmed Olives were really good. Might've been the best dish of the meal! I'm going to start warming my olives at home from now on! Adding some olive oil and dressing added a rich savory element balancing out the sourness. The Sumac Cauliflower was decent. Wish it was more on the warmer side. Sumac brought a nice brightness and tanginess. Pickled onions were really good. The Chermoula Shrimp was good. Similar to the previous dish, I wish it was just a bit more warm, especially the couscous. The flavors were bright and slightly acidic from the sun dried tomatoes. The extra large shrimp were cooked very well. Plump and tender. The Herb Lamb was pretty good. The char was amazing! That was the first thing I noticed. The lamb was cooked very well. Tender, juicy, and nicely seasoned. The broccolini also had a nice char and tasty. The chunky tomato sauce was good. Wish that was charred too! But overall, the dish could've been more herbaceous to match the name. Ended the meal with the Coconut Whipped Panna Cotta. The consistency was almost yogurt like. Creamy and smooth, and not too sweet with a nice coconut flavor. Overall, it was a good meal. The food was all prepared and seasoned well. Enjoyed all the dishes. Some could've been more warmed up for a better experience. The service was excellent. Very bright friendly and attentive servers. Nice atmosphere. Love the openness with an open view of the kitchen stations. The menu has a nice variety that changes each season, and the prices for food are very reasonable. I'll definitely come back to try more things!

Enjoyed our lunch my first time at Lady Elaine! All of the flavors were really good. Service was amazing. I think my friend had like 6 refills on her iced tea because the servers just kept bringing them! Really enjoyed all of the tastes I had from my friends' dishes. Everything was flavorful, tasted fresh, worked well. Very savory and unctuous. The 2 mushroom dishes had the best flavors, in my opinion. The restaurant is cute and had lots of room. There's something on the menu for everyone, I think. My only negative-ish comment is that we all thought the portions were a bit small. So you can keep that in mind as you order and consider your options / budget. But I hope to revisit soon!

Had another great birthday meal at one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always on point and the staff are very welcoming and attentive. Some of the favorites again were the turmeric chicken, hummus , lamb chops, eggplant risotto. If you have not eaten here you must give this place a try.

An unexpected, unpretentious dining experience. Came on a recommendation of a local Manoa resident, and was not disappointed. The service was great and food delicious! I have an unusual food allergy to caraway seeds...and the waitress caught it in my pasta order thank goodness. Appetizers were good, baba ghanush, bread/butter but could have passed this. The charred napa cabbage was a hit. Then we shared all our mains-duck (ok), short rib stew (very good), lemon chicken skewers ( very good and moist) and lamb chops (excellent) which each had different and delicious vegetables included! This hit the mark for me on value, quantity and quality. Will definitely be back! Reservations recommended as they do fill up!

The service here is impeccable. Absolutely amazing and they are attentive. I came here during lunch and we ordered a spread of food to share. Let's talk appetizers. The Caesar salad was a classic dish with a generous amount of Parmesan cheese on top. 4.5/5 The warm pita and humus was a huge hit for me. 5/5 The risotto was great. The grains were the right texture where it wasn't too hard or mushy. We added shrimp to it for an extra fee and it was worth it. We also ordered 3 chicken skewers on the side. Perfectly seasoned. The catch of the day is a dish I would return for time and time again. The fish was tender and I really enjoyed the seasonings. A perfect dish. 5/5 The burger and fries were a comfort food. I must say, the fries are outstanding. There are a variety of 2 people and group seating/table set ups. The interior is well decorated and inviting.

We ordered Seafood Paella, Mushrooms appetizer. The second time we added different menu. Seafood Paella, added Shrimp Ajillo with fresh homemade bread, Arugula beets salad. The third time ( this time ) we added another different menu. The more we come, the more we can try new menu and enjoy new tastes. Honestly El Cielo, all menu we tried even wine and draft beers, were top class, I love to nominate as the best restaurant in Hawaii. I am so glad I found the great restaurant, I was seeking for. Prices were not bad, as inflation everything costs are so expensive nowadays. Everywhere!! Their services are great too. If I live close by I would go El Cielo once or twice a week. Thank you so much. I will love to come back soon again.

Better than I expected.... Waikiki? I expected it to be expensive, touristy and overhyped. And yes,…read moreit is pricey and touristy. But the food is solidly good... I really enjoyed the octopus. Not too soft. It came with a nice chew and sat on a bed of thinly sliced potatoes. I could've eaten the whole dish by myself...No sharing next time. The egg custard was light, with a hint of bacon flavor. It was served in the shell in a high heeled shoe dish. So cute! The entrées were a bit of a different story... I ordered the pork shoulder at first and the waiter recommended it be done, medium rare. I have to say I am no longer a fan of bloody meat so I asked for it to be done medium. Honestly, it arrived and to my palate was a bit tasteless.... given that it was almost $60 I thought twice but was encouraged to send it back. The waiter was accommodating and I ordered the lamb chops instead. Two thick sliced lamb chops arrived about 15 minutes later and were a perfect medium served on a bed of potato and sweet potato. I really enjoyed this.... I like my lamb chops usually grilled, juicy and fatty. These were refined, trimmed of the fat and beautifully plated. I'd like to try the paella next time and more of the appetizers. Really good choice of fancy little cocktails also. I would reserve the back room for sure next time. That room has high ceilings and feels elevated. The front room where we sat was OK. I'd also opt for the outside seating area on a breezy evening... Otherwise it can be rather humid in the summer. Overall, excellent service and delicious food offerings. A bit pricey to be expected given the area.

We started our vacation with dinner at the Hideout, and upon entering you could immediately hear live music. We received a warm welcome, and brought over to our booth where our server Kai was quick to greet us. We ordered cocktails (I don't remember the name of mine. It's something spritz, and my husband tried the banana bread old fashioned) and we shared the appetizer platter (brussel sprouts with pork belly, kalua pork egg rolls, poke tacos, and edamame)to share. I mentioned that it was just a general question and i wasn't coming that night. They informed me that it's validated for two hours and it's first come first serve. After the 2 hours its $14 an hour. Getting into the valet area was stressful enough as there was a car parked right before you turn and pedestrians that walk back and forth from their main driveway entrance. I also had to wait for valet for a bit too as there was 2 other cars in front of me and probably only 2 valet on duty trying to move cars forward. Reservations can be made on open table, but there was really no point to doing that since it's open seating during happy hour times. We ended up just picking a table that was in the shade, and noticed they only have their menu by QR code which is kinda annoying. The server was pretty nice tho and he brought my dog some water mid way. Their happy hour runs from 2-6 and the menu is slightly less expensive. The food was kind of standard hotel type of food and nothing really stood out. Otherwise the vibes at the restaurant was nice and i do like that they allow dogs to join you. it seems like they have live music after a certain time. I was even more annoyed and stressed with the valet when i went to pick up my car. They literally just handed me my keys. My car was parked along the wall probably 20 steps away, but they could have at least taken out my car cause it was so hard to get out, but i guess it's nice they trust that i wont bang the car in front of back of me i guess even tho im a pretty terrible parker. at the time they didn't look as busy as when i first arrived, so i dont know why they couldn't have just done the bare minimum with just pulling out my car from the stall.

The bartender looked pretty irritated by that point, and didn't even provide me with a glass of water. We would've grabbed a bunch of food to compensate for taking up a seat, but by then, the bartender had already dropped the check, and we hadn't even sat there for more than 5 minutes. The most interesting part was that an older couple sat next to us, similar situation. The gentleman asked for a glass of wine, and his wife asked for a non-alcoholic beverage. The smoked ahi with lavosh. So flavorful and fresh, with that smoky richness balanced by the crisp lavosh. It felt light but still packed with taste -- a perfect contrast to the heavier fried stuff. Honestly, everything hit. Great mix of indulgent and fresh, and I'd order this exact combo again without hesitation.

The space is relaxed and inviting, with a calm, tucked-away feel that makes you forget you're inside a hotel. The happy hour menu is impressively priced, with starters beginning at just $6, yet everything feels thoughtfully prepared and elevated. Highlights included the toasted bread with sun-dried tomato pistou -- warm, crisp toast paired with a deeply savory, herbaceous spread that's simple but incredibly satisfying. The mini poke bowl was fresh and well-balanced, showcasing clean flavors and quality fish without being overly heavy. The fish tacos delivered exactly what you want: crispy island fish, bright flavors, and a great balance of texture. We also tried the fish and chips, featuring lightly fried island fish, hot fries, and a creamy house remoulade that tied the dish together beautifully. The standout for us was the empanadas -- flaky, crisp pastry filled with tender braised beef and potato, finished with a bold aji rojo sauce that added just the right amount of depth and gentle heat. Service was friendly and attentive without feeling rushed, and the overall vibe made it easy to relax and enjoy the experience. The cafe had a nice inviting feel that extended towards the back, the ambiance was dark and chic. The cafe was adorned with Halloween motif. We placed our orders at the counter which was towards the front section and our food were served at our table. I chose the Spinach Mushroom Goat Cheese Omelette and Lemonade for my drink. That homemade lemonade was so refreshing and delicious! Loved the delicious spinach and mushroom in my omelet. Hubby ordered a classic breakfast of Two Eggs w/ Bacon and Roasted Potatoes... wow! the bacon was crispy and yummy and just how I like my bacon cooked. He gave me 2-pieces, maybe because he saw me drooling over it LoL! but I'm telling you, Therese's Wagyu Cheeseburger on Brioche with French Fries looked mighty yummy too! Thank you, Terry, for inviting us to join you for a Sunday brunch. We had a wonderful first time dining experience here with good food and company! Review #3585

They only serve natural wines, which made everything feel really intentional and thoughtfully chosen. We had a Pinot Noir, a super funky orange wine that was honestly really cool to try, and Coenobium -- a beautiful white wine made by nuns. At one point, a bottle of red wine was opened and poured as a little salute for the room -- a simple, unexpected moment that was really wholesome. For food, we shared the venison pâté with bread and a Caprese salad -- simple, but done so well and paired perfectly with everything. It wasn't just about what we had, but how the whole experience came together. There's something really special about what they're creating there. We are already planning our next visit!

The staff is so sweet and accommodating and make excellent recommendations based on their understanding of their wines and your palate. Will definitely be back as they routinely add new wines to the menu throughout the month. The food menu is limited especially if you aren't a big meat eater but there's something for everyone. Low intervention and organic wines with such great range from light and bubbly to heavy with tons of body. Come for the wine and make friends with the staff and others around the bar. The setting is intimate so get comfy.
