No clue how this place has a 3.1. I got a dodge city and it was insane good. I might even get another one tonight.

This place is a joke. Last Saturday before driving 9.5 miles each way to get a few subs I checked their site to see there hours which are Monday thru Saturday 10am - 12am. I arrived in there parking lot at 9:15pm. The 1st thing I noticed was bright shining neon OPEN sign in the window. Then I noticed that all the inside lights were dimmed and no one was in the building so obviously dispute there web sites hours and the hours posted on the door they were closed. This is unacceptable on a Saturday night shortly after 9pm just a few blocks from the heart of Old Town Scottsdale. This wouldn't even be acceptable if it was only a few minutes prior to there closing time but closing 2 hours and 45 minutes early!!!! I wasted my time and gas driving there all for nothing. What a poor way to run a business Silver Mine Subs! I've been eating there anytime I was in the area for over 13 years but not anymore! I have to say I'm not that disappointed that I not be returning cause this was most likely my last visit anyway unless they made a drastic improvement towards what they once were. Meaning over the past couple of years the quality and portions have dropped off considerably. Guess I'll never know! The upside is I saved $50-60 that night. Good riddens!!! read more

OMG, how do I start! Silver Mine is a total gem! The hours are convenient for people that work in the nightlife industry. I ask all the coworkers what they want and then I call in to place the order. They offer delivery and have good prices. The broccoli cheese soup is to die for! The bread that is served with the soup is to die for, all over again! Friendly and quick, which is great for us late nighters! Truly great establishment! The sandwiches that I tried were delicious. You cant really order wrong here! read more

Favorite sub sandwich place in Scottsdale and I am blessed to live down the street from it. I have gotten food from here quite a few times since moving nearby. Their sandwiches are the absolute gas pack. They have consistently good quality sandwiches and I like the general vibe of their establishment. I will mention the past few times I've gone, their electronic drink dispenser was out of service, so hopefully by now the issue has been resolved. Today, however, I did not get any drinks here. Just 2 sandwiches, one for me and one for my beautiful girlfriend. I got the Cripple Creek. It was delicious, packed tightly with an appropriate portion of grilled chicken and some nice crunchy bacon and with some very soft tomato might I add. I did wind up microwaving it by the time I had gotten back home and started to eat it, it had lost a bit of its warmth and I only live 7 minutes away. I prefer my food nearly piping hot but I will cut em some slack since it was decently warm still. My girlfriend got the Cowboy with no coleslaw which is her favorite. I've had the Frontier before which is pretty great as well I can confirm. This is one of the best alternatives to Subway/Jersey Mike's in the valley, period, if not here in Scottsdale specifically. The service is always great, and the presentation and execution of their menu is top notch. Would recommend anyone to try this place yesterday. read more

The sub itself was good, but as the other reviews indicated, the rest left a lot to be desired. I ordered online and came in to no one making my sandwich. The worker was nice enough to recognize that they weren't on the ball and offered me a drink while I waited and added "I think we're only out of Coke & Diet Coke." Turns out they were out of 1/2 the beverages and the lemonade I chose tasted like water and was clearly almost out, too. The sub was good, but I ordered (and paid for) and 8" and got a 5". I'd say I won't likely return because Jersey Mikes makes a better sandwich and is a bit more polished. If you check them out, make sure you perform a quality control inspection before you leave so you don't leave without everything--in my case 1/3 of my sandwich--you paid for. read more

I am from out of town and found this place on door dash. The door dash app was horrible. The entire time it kept saying my order was being processed. There was never an update of a driver being assigned. After contacting them they had no idea where my order was. Come to find out my order had already been delivered to my hotel room in less than 15 mins. I guess the store does their own delivery and that's why a door dasher was never assigned. The sub was actually really good. Eventho the delivery charge is the same I'd recommend going directly thru the store cause door dash had no clue of what was going on with my order. Buyer beware! I actually really like their sandwiches. I just feel compelled to illuminate the farce that is their advertised side versus what you actually get. They are selling their jalapeño coleslaw with an image that is the size of a cup of soup (typically 8 ounces). What you actually get is a 5.5 oz plastic ramekin that is only 2/3rds full. I called the store to make sure that what I received in my to go order was legitimate. The customer service person who answered my call said that it was. They actually intended to send me approximately 3.3oz in lieu of the 8oz I had paid for. No offer of a refund. They made a half hearted apology and hung up (before I had). No regard for basic business ethics or customer satisfaction. Classic bait and switch. Class Action, anyone?! read more

Silver mine puts the Motherlode slant on a familiar fast, healthy food--the sub sandwich. Their bread is soft and flavorful. The sandwiches are all named for someplace, some thing or some type of miner in a mining community. Their workers are knowledgable and courteous and they really know their menu items well. Super easy to set up catering! Ordered a sub platter for Halloween and added all the fixings on the side. I decided to order for pickup at 4pm for Halloween but thinking it would be easier pick up before rush hours and before the kids started trick or treating. They were awesome to quickly adjust my pick up time based on my phone number. Would recommend their platter if you're feeding a wide array of folks! read more

I had a really great first experience here the other day. I came in to order a sandwich for a friend and then another coworker and I like to get two different sandwiches and share half with the other. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich (with blue cheese) and she got the Cowboy with brisket, bbq, and coleslaw. Both sandwiches were great (though we both preferred our own choices). I also ordered a Caesar spinach wrap for my friend. She said it was really good as well. Total was about thirty bucks including the two bags of chips I threw in. My experience SUCKED last night. Silver Mine Subs had been absorbed into the Heartland Restaurant Group, which largely is Dunkin Donuts. The decline of this restaurant is HUGE. The decline of quality and control is monumental and obvious. Key points: 1. Silver Mine has lost control of its website, which used to be easily navigated. I cannot pull up my historical choices - several years worth. 2. Ordering inaccurate. Choices are inaccurate. I ordered a sandwich I have ordered from Silver Mine for years. the Homesteak. Online, I ordered it with steamed onions and steamed bell peppers. Last month they didn't have the sandwich at all, now, I was able to order the sandwich, but the peppers and onions came RAW, not as described on the new website. Clearly, they want to run this like Dunkin Doughnuts, a franchise that I do not use or recommend. 3. The sandwich which used to be akin to, if not a direct descendent of a Philly Cheesetake, had descended to a sort of grilled roast beef sandwich on totally different bread with cold toppings, with unmelted cheese. Silver Mine's preparation, which I had loved for YEARS, had been abandoned. This is not Subway...who are these people? 4. Tonight, I had to let my disappointment cool from last night when I went to bed hungry and frustrated due to my total disgust with what was delivered to me, and spoke with a very nice young man who was apparently the crew chief. He was VERY patient with me. He took all responsibility for how bad my food was, but explained that he could not take any responsibility for the website, which allowed me to order what I wanted, and have always received, but delivered something else entirely...which had not been the case for over 5 years with Silver Mine. (delivery remained fast and efficient) 5. Apparently, Homestead Restaurant Group thinks it can hijack the identity of neighborhood restaurants without taking into account why they have been successful in a way that chains like Dunkin Donuts have not. Unfortunately, Silver Mine is no longer a local community institution, and Heartland has misunderstood and overestimated it's viability and desirability. At least Subway knows what it is. Silver Mine was historically a reliable source of delicious food prepared well and quickly. Last night it was just quick. I was VERY disappointed and I am done with them. read more

So...I can't even tell you the last time I've been to this place (until the time I'm about the review) but for awhile now I've been getting emails/texts from them about there weekly deals. When my free birthday meal email came (yes...a whole meal...medium sandwich, side and drink) I decided to finally stop back in...and now I'll come back regularly. This place is a short walk from my house, so we've gone here a bit; the sandwiches are great, but it's not the only reason I come back. The real reason is the customer service. My sandwich is almost always perfectly made; the one single time in 4 years it was not, they made it right for me. When I locked my keys in my house & had to call my wife, they were there to help (and came running out when I was 1/10 mile away after my wife called back). The store is clean & well-kept, and they have stayed on top of social distancing. They also continue to enforce the mask measures even after the state let the mandate expire, and I applaud their commitment to customer safety. read more

I buy from here frequently with no issues. Today I ordered, repeated my order, and had it repeated back to me. The cashier was having trouble with the register so he had to cancel and start over. I tipped, then got the food (two sandwiches two different sizes) and one was the wrong sandwich and they were both the wrong sizes. The chicken was really inedible as well, this was a first. Called immediately upon noticing and the cashier was sorry but no credit or offer to re-make. Such a bummer, makes my tip feel useless. read more

Silver Mine Subs is a really good sandwich shop preparing interesting arranged subs. One of my initial tests when evaluating a sub shop is the feel and weight of the sandwich after picking it up from the counter. If it feels light and mushy, well that's not such a great thing. Weight gives you a good idea of how much meat is in the sandwich. While mushy tends to indicate too much veggies. I know that may sound arbitrary, but if you think about it, it's a decent first impression. My King Bullion was solid and felt like a pound or so. Good first start. Other sandwiches on the menu that looked interesting (photo): -Georgetown (turkey breast, bacon, provolone, avocado); -California Gulch (tuna salad and provolone); -Comstock (double roast beef and provolone); -Silver City (salami, ham and provolone). The Cold Subs run $4.49 for the small, $5.99 for the medium and $7.49 for the large. My medium 8" King Bullion had roast beef, turkey breast and provolone (see photo), along with some veggies. The bread held up well and didn't fall apart while eating. It also came cut. Nice! The inside of Silver Mine Subs reminded me of that industrial motif favored by Chipotle. Instead Silver Mine uses concrete board, in place of dry wall. It also has a "surfer dude" feel. Don't ask me why, I guess I heard too many "wow, man" on my visit. I would give them 3 3/4 stars, rounded up to four after my first visit. I would rate them ahead of Subways and Bimpies, but behind Jersey Mike's, Capriotti's and Jimmy John's and worthy of a visit. I would agree with Gabi M's take: " I'd go the extra 1/2 mile for Silver Mine over Subway any day." Hell, I go an extra 5 miles for a Silver Mine! Enjoy! read more

Really wanted to like this place after I saw a positive news piece about this location recently. To provide background, my go to sub chain is Jersey Mike's (and yes, I know this is also a chain). Walked in on a Wednesday at about 1130 and ordered a sub (Boomtown or Comstock, can't remember). Staff was friendly. Got sub home and it looked pretty good, small diameter, slightly crusty white bread and all the correct items on it, but the lettuce had that slightly "off" taste. Not too concerning, so I ate it anyway. Overall it was a fine sub except for the lettuce issue and the pickle spear was good. While writing this review did a little research and I think my experience was typical. read more

Used to love this place. However they all disappeared. This is the one and only here in AZ. So anyways. I enjoy their buffalo stampede sub. However it's never ever hot. It's not even Luke warm. So tonight I walked in cause I figured why not help a store out that only has one here in AZ cause of this corona virus figured I'd help em out by stopping in. Asked the lady to heat the chicken up a little more and some dude in the back comes up and just says I can't do that. It's against the store policy to heat up the food. That makes absolute no sense. Call before you make the drive. Drove from Cave Creek, and they closed early. Friday night, 8:10 PM, closed. Last couple times we've been here the employees are always super nice but our subs were missing items, l fluky we ate there so easy fix but this location seems to be starting to slowly go downhill. My boyfriend and I were hungry and wanted dinner at last minute so we saw that Silver mines was open until 9pm. We decided to head over there around 8:30pm and mind you we live just a few minutes away. Show up and immediately are told they have no warm subs. This was a big bummer because both my boyfriend and myself wanted warm subs. We ordered cold subs instead. We ordered the Caribou and the Tombstone along with 2 chips and a side of potato salad. When we added bacon, we were again informed that it's not going to be warm, although is precooked. So we said sure why not. Our sandwiches were done in just a few minutes and then I left. At this point it was 8:45pm, as soon as I left the restaurant, the lights were turned off and the doors were locked. That all being said, the employees were very friendly. I just felt like they closed early and didn't want to serve warm sandwiches because it was getting close to closing time. When I got home, the potato salad was missing which was a bummer. However the sandwiches were delicious! We were pleasantly surprised because we have tried this place a few times before and it wasn't a pleasant experience in the past. Despite the construction on Indian School, this place was doing some major business during the lunch hour on Monday... I was starving and I wanted to something somewhat healthy but quick... I remembered reading Donald's review and thought about calling for delivery, but I decided I'd go check the place out myself instead. And I'm so glad that I did! The place is super clean, the employees are really friendly, the prices are right, and the food hit the spot too - it was exactly what I needed to fuel the rest of my busy day. I went with a medium "Caribou" on a tortilla wrap. What's a "Caribou," you ask? It's Turkey Breast, Double Provolone, Avocado, Lettuce, Tomato, Sprouts, Mayo. I know what you're thinking... "Isn't she on a wedding diet?" Well - yes, I am. I ordered it with only single cheese and no mayo. The wrap is low carb and was supposedly whole wheat but I'd question the whole wheat part. It was really good though! I also ordered a side salad and a pickle... both delicious! (If you like a sweet tangy honey mustard dressing like I do - they've got that too!) I placed an order online and arrived 5 minutes prior to when the order was said to be ready. While the customer service interaction was good, the sub that I paid a little over 15 dollars for was cold to the touch. This was by far the worst sub sandwich I have ever eaten. The chicken was bland and dry. There wasn't any taste to it. I'm glad I didn't get sick. The ingredients were awful and not fresh. For a sub at this price point, it should have been a higher level of taste. I will never go back. read more

Open late and that's about it. The subs aren't very good and the prices are high for what you get. The menu is annoying. The sub names don't describe the sub, which is especially annoying because every sandwich seems just a bit off. The turkey club has ranch. The BLT has cheese. Everything has mayo. They try to accommodate special orders, but every time I have been here at least one sandwich is wrong. read more
