We are visiting from IN, actually on our honeymoon! Back home, we have a few capriotti's but haven't been in at least five years. #OMG! I stopped by in the middle of the day on a Sunday. Big sign says pizza by the slice. The only sorry looking slice they had looked like it was made yesterday!!! Not so. the place is a bit grubby and there was standing water on the floor near the drink machine. I ordered the Hot Bobbie, it was good. I needed to ask for more cranberry sauce, but all good. BUT my friend's food-She got a turkey and the coleslaw. The coleslaw was way past being bad. Awful! I tasted it (which I wish I hadn't) and it still turns my stomach to think of it three days later! I brought the package back up to the counter and they just said "thanks" not "can we refund your money?", "can we give you a replacement?" nothing. We split the American Wagyu roast beef sandwich as well as the classic Italian sandwich with Genoa salami, capicola, and prosciutto. The sandwiches were good, but could have been better. Each sandwich came with one slice of tomato on top, it could have used more. Also, some extra oil and vinegar to moisten the bread would have been a big help. And also the bread was thick to the point where it kind of overwhelmed the ingredients inside, I actually scooped out a little bit of the inside of the bread to balance it all out. We spotted this shop driving down Scottsdale and husband was hangry so decided to give it try. Staff played a game of words as we were placing order, if a word is spoken another is yelled out that goes with it. Which gave it a feeling of a lively place than it was at that moment. Husband ordered a sandwich and I did the chicken noodle soup. Our name was called out to pick up. We were given the wrong soup, however they quickly made it right and told us to keep the other one. My soup was homemade right out of the pot. Reminded me of my own recipe accept mine is heavier on the meat and veggies than broth. I had a craving for a cookie and found a peanut butter cookie with peanut butter chips. Cookie was too soft for my liking. We stopped by during Super Bowl weekend and it was decently busy. The employees were super nice and gave tips on the bathroom - bring your own toilet paper lol. I got a Cap's salad with nice big chunks of cheese and a half of the wagyu roast beef sub, would recommend both. The roast beef sub had just the right amount of coleslaw to meat ratio. I go to Capriotti's throughout the year as it is right by my work and today's experience was not great at all. There were two coworkers getting into it about orders not being removed properly from their board, which just made it awkward to go up to the pick up counter to ask about it. It seemed like they were behind and instead of picking up at 11:30 like I had put in the order was just being put on the grill after I said I was there for pick up. When I get back to work I find that one of the subs on my order as the completely wrong meat on it. I didn't have time to go back. I just felt very disappointed this time around. read more

When I came across The Bobbie with the gravy, I was taken all the way back to my childhood when my mom used to make the best homemade Thanksgiving dinner EVER! She's been gone for 5 years and I had accepted I would never taste those flavors again. Then I found The Bobbie! It is hands down the best sandwich I've ever had in my entire life! Thank you for helping me remember my childhood! I will add that the bread they use at the location on Scottsdale Rd is WAY better than the bread they use at the Mesa location. The bread at the Mesa store is super soft, so when it's dipped in the gravy, the bread is instantly soggy (but still good)! I prefer the crunchier bread on Scottsdale Rd - it can take being dipped in gravy! And I think you should have the gravy year round!!!! read more

I'm so disappointed. I am from Las Vegas and Capriotti's is a staple when it comes to subs. I always get the wagyu steak and cheese, no veggies. It's very clear that NV & AZ use different suppliers for their ingredients. The meat in AZ is not the same quality as Las Vegas and my sandwich tasted nothing like the Caps I know so well. It was sliced too thick, slightly fatty and still pink. That's wagyu? There was way too much unmelted cheese and the bread slightly soggy so I threw the other half of it away. The service was lacking as well. I stood at the counter for about 5 minutes before anyone even noticed that I walked in. The employee sitting outside came in, apologized & took my order. It was ready in less than 5 minutes, which explains why the meat was still pink and the cheese was not melted. I will not be back to this location but I do urge management to raise standards to meet those of NV. read more

The Turkey they have here is not your typical processed / sliced thin deli meat. This is fresh, roasted, chunky pieces of Turkey. While, I was intrigued about the Bobbie - the Cole actually caught my eye. I am a sucker for Cole slaw on sandwiches! The Cole: Slow-roasted, homemade turkey, provolone cheese, Russian dressing, cole slaw, and mayo. They have many sizes to choose from and unless you want leftovers get the small or half size. These sandwiches are huge! Service is fast and to the point. No extra fluff here. The restaurant is incredibly small and tables are on top of each other. Get your order to go!
