Stumbled upon this last Saturday and it was yummy! Wanted to come again for lunch but just realized during the week they're not open until 5pm. I had the sushi bowl which is really served in a cup equivalent in size to maybe a medium coffee. But it was very filling! Got the brunch special which comes with miso soup. Soup was decent. The place is small. Not a lot of seating so don't recommend for large groups. I'd definitely come again for the sushi bowl! read more

What a popular spot on a weeknight. The sushi is definitely of high quality and affordable. Not that many options but I think that's how they keep it affordable. I got the salmon roll and real crab California roll. Both were good but salmon was definitely better. Only thing I wouldn't recommend is I got the miso soup and it tasted like warm scented water. Stopped in with some friends for a quick bite. The shop is tiny, but it is cute and very clean. The menu, while small, packs a good bit of variety. We ordered a sushi roll, three rice cups and some miso soup. Everything was very reasonably priced (4 of us at for around $35). Loved the miso, which was plain, and the veggie rice cup, which was delicious and crunchy. Also the flaxseed rice is pretty killer. I haven't ordered anything other than their rice bowls, but I have always been happy with the product. Spicy tuna cups are a must-order. Miso soup is delicious, and I recently got hooked on the udon soup. My boyfriend and I ordered take out from this restaurant. The delivery was prompt and the packaging was nicely done. For the price, I felt like the portions were quite small. We ordered the spicy tuna and unagi cups, the yellowtail roll, and miso soup. Both of the rice cups were good, they sauces were flavorful and the fish seemed fresh. The roll was good, but nothing special. The miso soup was quite disappointing. There was a distinct lack of flavor and it tasted like maybe they only did a mixture of miso paste and water and either were very light handed with the dashi or skipped it altogether. Gotta admit I'm not a big sushi fan - mainly because I order a roll and it doesn't fill me up, I am not crazy about rice, and am anxious about fake fish / the freshness of the fish I'm eating and the sodium content of soy sauce. I also thought the name silver rice just wasn't appealing (It seemed like a golden krust knock off and not in a good way). That being said, my boyfriend brought home some sushi form Silver Rice a few nights ago and it was pretty yummy. The salmon tasted very fresh (he got a container that had 90% rice with salmon and avocado with a sauce on top, and a salmon sushi roll that wasn't filled with a million sauces and crunchy bits). The salmon roll was quite small but it satiated my hunger for a good couple of hours. There are lots of places around here that serve sushi on their menu of other items, but this place is probably the go-to spot by far for most residents since that's all they do. It also looks clean (albeit small) inside so that's another plus (star). read more

It's good in the winter- my go-to is the crab kale miso and either the salmon, tuna or veggie cup, but sometimes we'll throw in the crab California roll- GREAT. I think some things are unreasonably priced. For example, the house salad is about $5 bucks with taxes butbits just lettuce that you have to cut as the pieces are huge and radishes. I have ordered from here multiple times. I always have a great experience. I have tried the regular miso soup, the crab kale miso soup, and a few of the rolls and seaweed salad. One thing I love about this place is that everything I ever get is so fresh! The soups are so good and they prices are reasonable. I personally enjoy the crab kale miso. The kale is bright green with a good chunk. The only thing is the crab kale miso soup is one of the specials I think, so you have to order it there. It doesn't appear on seamless or DoorDash. I'd passed the storefront on Flatbush Avenue a few times and was intrigued by the name and well-designed interior, but being from a place with abundant Japanese food, I wasn't sure what to expect. Let's just say that me and my tastebuds were very pleasantly surprised. The food at Silver Rice is stellar. To do a sushi roll well is a rare art. Silver Rice has figured it out, both dishing out the classics (Real Crab California Roll) and creative new offerings like the Mighty Seafood (tuna, salmon, yellowtail, egg omelet , scallion, flying fish roe, tempura crunch). Bravo and yum. We also got the Hijiki salad (delish) and a salmon bowl (so fresh). Will I be back? I went back tonight! read more

Pretty good spot in the neighborhood here, glad it's here for some variety! I haven't had the sushi yet, but had one of the rice bowls (veggie) and it was superb. Opted for the flax seed rice which I recommend. The only thing about the bowl is that I wish there were more vegetables inside - they kind of throw a tiny amount of avocado and other veggies on top but there's an over abundance of rice at the bottom. Will definitely ask for more next time! I suggest getting the spicy mayo and also don't forget to get wasabi and ginger for the full experience. Everything is so fresh and delicious! We ordered the Alaska Chirashi bowl with avocado added ( for an extra $1.50). I requested the flax seed rice. The rice is so nicely seasoned and the fish - super fresh! I would have liked a little more cucumber. It was more like a garnish than part of the bowl. We also had the spicy tuna cup and an Unagi cup. The tuna had a yummy spicy mayo and the Unagi was delicious. The first night we tried to go they were so busy that they ran out of rice. We decided to try another night since the menu is pretty much dictated by rice. Glad that we did.
