Great food and portions.. You have to know which waitress to pick.. There is one older lady who isn't to friendly, but all the other Hispanic waitresses are very nice, quick, and attentive to your table. We wanted to eat breakfast there last weekend as we used to go to home kitchen there other restaurant and the food and service were really good. boy were we disappointed. we came in to the restaurant and stood there for 15 minutes before someone even greeted us. the Asian lady was very rood and looked very busy helping people paying there bills. they looked very understaffed with dirty plates all over the place. when she finally seated us we sat in the booth for 15 more minutes and no one even bothered to come wait on us. at that point we just got up and left and I don't even think they realized we had left. we will never go back for that reason so if you would like to wait all day to get seated and eat then this is the place for you! read more

I told the owners that I would give them another chance and that was tonight , Moe , our server did a good job, a little distracted by the TV, but ok, my wife had the soup and salad and I had the beef and rice, the salad was crispy and fresh and the beef was all right the wife's choice of the chicken noodle soup was a good, I tried it and was as good as always. My elderly parents love this place and have invited me to join them in the past and I recalled the food was okay. When my mom suggested she would like to go for Mother's Day, my husband, kids and I joined them with an open mind. We got there shortly before noon and although it was pretty busy, we were seated within about 5-10 minutes in a back area that had table space for our party of 7. There was another large party in the alcove as well, a long table of maybe 10 people. Within about 10 minutes, a bus helper had taken our beverage orders and brought us something to drink. We had already had our menus for about 10 minutes and were ready to order but when no one came, we kept ourselves busy talking to mom and opening Mother's Day cards. Still no waitress came to take our order. Pretty soon we noticed the other party was getting restless... their drinks were empty and they had been waiting a while for their food. We still had menus in front of us and wondered whether the staff had forgotten the alcove altogether. We only saw a couple of waitresses and none of them looked our way as they worked the main dining area. The man who had brought our drinks walked past the alcove and turned and scanned the tables and walked on. The people at the other table exchanged surprised looks with us. They said their glasses were empty and the coffee cups almost dry. My husband got up to try to find someone and was told they would be there soon. When he sat I expected to see some activity soon thereafter but still none! We had been seated a full 35 minutes before someone finally came to take our order. No apology or comment regarding the delay, no offer of comping at least our beverages for the wait. They brought the soups/salads so at least we had something to eat but then nothing. The other table had finally gotten their food but again no one had been in to check on either table for several minutes. Someone from that party got up to go track down some ketchup and commented that he should be paid for helping to serve. They finished eating and left and still our meals had not come. My husband got up to ask for at least a water pitcher since we needed something more to drink and our paid beverages were not getting tended to. Someone came and poured water but took the pitcher back with her. Finally the food came, about 25 minutes after it was ordered, which was already over an HOUR since we arrived. Again, no comment or apology regarding the delay, no offer to comp anything or bring a dessert to share. We finished as soon as we could because we had better ways to spend Mother's Day than sitting in a diner for an hour and a half. We finished and got the bill to pay and by the time we were out in the parking lot to leave it was an hour and 45 minutes from arrival time. If we had been waiting for a table to open up, that much elapsed time might be acceptable, but since we were seated fairly quickly, there is no reason it should have taken 35 minutes for our waitress to come and about an hour for our meal to be served. There were too few serving staff, too few cooks and too little manager support to see to it that customers were being served. The food was ok but with the lack of care and concern about the length of time we just sat, I don't think Ho's will get another chance with us. I feel taken advantage of for paying full rate for a meal with such extremely poor service. Very disappointing way to celebrate my day! read more

Good food, lackluster service. If you ever want to see what a culture of indifference looks like, this is the place. We arrived and stood in the entryway for five minutes while the cashier/hostess puttered around with some paperwork. Finally she acknowledged and seated us. We ordered some iced teas and I asked our waitress for some silverware. She never brought it, so I finally went back and asked someone by the kitchen for some. Throughout our meal we felt like our waitress was absent and indifferent when she passed by. I have to say, the food was pretty good. But I just don't see myself going back, when there are so many other restaurants around that actually seem happy to see a customer. read more

Sometimes looking quickly on yelp to find a place to eat on the road without actually reading the reviews can be deceiving. This was one of those places. We just saw the facts - American restaurant, close by with 4 stars. So we decided to give it a try. But let me make this clear - this place is like a diner type place that caters to an older clientele and has regulars and serves good old fashioned breakfasts and sandwiches and burgers. Yeah not exactly a lot of young people in here and I could feel some stares walking in. This should not affect your opinion of the place but just an FYI. The food was decent and reasonably priced. Anyways it's in a little strip mall with parking so that's a plus. From the outside, already looked like a Chinese restaurant from the door. Walked in to find an Asian hostess and koi pond in front. Def looked like it used to be an Asian restaurant or at least owned by Asians. Anyways we got a booth near the kitchen and settled down to order. The waitress told us about complementary soup so that was cool. We both got the clam chowder, which was delicious, and a whole tray of different crackers. For the entrees, we got the Denver omelet sandwich and the philly cheese sandwich. I got fries with mine and for a little extra, my friend got the fried zucchini. And this wasn't zucchini sticks, they were like battered slices of zucchini, which was the first time we saw it cooked like that. I didn't try it but my friend said it was hot and seasoned well. My fries were also hot and just came out of the fryer. My Denver sandwich was exactly how it sounded - an omelet between your choice of toasted bread - I picked wheat. It was good. I'd never had an omelet sandwich before. Since we had that soup as an appetizer, I only finished about half my place. So much food and it was less than $10 a person. read more

Everytime I drive home from work my eyes will casually wander to this place and intrigue follows. I've seen the sign numerous times and each time I make a mental note to give it a shot. Finally, one Saturday morning I came in to try the breakfast. This place has lots of seating and even more items on the menu. The prices are good and the service is decent. Breakfast entrees come with hash brown and toast and everything was delicious. As I read through the extensive menu, this place definitely offers a variety of food for lunch and dinner. Pretty good food and a good price. Who cares of the people eating there are elderly. That just means they've had a lifetime of eating and they know what good food is at a good price. I eat here because my parents are old fogies and they don't like the crowds or other restaurants with the younger clientele. I first tried Flappy Jacks but the wait was crazy, so I searched up nearby restaurants and found this place....im so glad I did! We were greeted immediately, seated and brought drinks within 5 minutes. The service was amazing, the food was great and it's very clean. My kids devoured their food. First time here. We got seated right away. It did feel warm inside, but anything was better than being outdoors in 115 degree temp. We felt the A/C kick when we were about to leave. The waitress was nice, but she never came back to check on us after bringing our food. And with it being so hot, my husband drained his soda and wanted a refill. I ended up giving him my water. Food was good. I shared the chicken fried steak breakfast with my daughter (breakfast served all day). I asked for the eggs over medium. It could've cooked a while longer, but it was okay. They're just eggs. Not much to say about it. Although the chicken fried steak looked burnt around the edges, it didn't taste burnt. I substituted the home fries with regular french fries. The french fries were very good. Fresh off the fryer, seasoned just right. I think they used seasoned salt and not table salt. We got mozz cheese sticks, and it was a tad bit too salty. It was served with a large bowl of marinara sauce which I appreciate since some restaurants give you a thimble size portion. The zucchini bread was so good. Came out nice and warm. Moist and not too sweet, slathered with butter....OMG. My husband had their corned beef with spinach and mushroom omelette and he kept saying how great it tasted as he was eating. We'll probably be back if we find ourselves in that part of town. read more
