SimonMed in its entirety is pathetic! The staff themselves, vary from location and my disgust isn't with staff so much as it is about the companies PATHETIC scheduling! 3/30/23 I made an appt for the 63rd St site for Fri., 4/7 at 7am. I acknowledge my email confirmation and multiple reminder texts. 4/6 evening I receive a final reminder and the next morning, 4/7 I tapped the "check in" as I parked. I walk in and the sweet young lady saw my "check in" but then said the system showed I was "cancelled". I showed her all my texts and email and said how can this be?! She went to ask to MRI tech and I was told I could come back that evening and do a wait for a "walk in"!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!? A walk in on a Friday evening? Uh, H*LL NO! I'm a RN, took a whole darn day off so I Could have my shoulder MRI and then proceed to get an injection later. I previously gave up on their Greenfield & 60 location for the same scheduling BS. I have been putting off getting an MRI and I knew this location had "open" MRI'S so this was the only facility i wanted to go to. Let me tell you, the technician that helped me was wonderful and made me feel so at ease. Not once did I feel nervous during the scan. She was consistently talking to me and letting me know what was going on. After roughly 40 minutes I was done and let her know that she was so helpful. This is the only place I would go to to have it done. I would say the only negative was that the front desk was short staffed and the place was full but the receptionist were pretty calm as well considering. read more

This company rescheduled me several times until I refused to reschedule anymore. This location called me twice to tell me they were running 60-110 mins behind and asked me, again, to reschedule. I declined and the rep from this location's response was "just come in half hour later" which I declined again because that.. would be.. changing the plan otherwise known as rescheduling. An hour before my appointment a different rep called and said she was running ahead of schedule. She asked me to come in immediately. I informed her I was coming in at my scheduled time. I also requested the office quit calling me whenever they see a patient. I probably offended the girl on the phone but it's extremely unprofessional to keep calling me! I had seen other's reviews stating that the staff talks super loud about patient information and that, unfortunately, was entirely true. I am also in no way convinced that this is a sanitary location. (I uploaded a picture.) Walls need paint, furniture needs to be replaced, floors need to be completely redone as a lot of the grouting has come out (isn't that a safety hazard?) & the entire office needs to not be decorated like someone's grandma's yard sale. Worst experience on scheduling appointment and visit: The male phone rep scheduling me for the same mammogram and in wrong facility. so when I went to the Mesa Baywood facility at the appointment time, they told me they don't have machines to scan me after I waited in line for an hour. During my waiting, I heard the other person has the same wrong appointment issues, and this kind of Chaos seems to be normal for them. No improvement for a long time. The front desk can schedule me to the other office right away after an hour wait in the line but this can be done when I checked in, not 1 hour after. The phone appointment rep seems not being trained to do scheduling job. That makes many unnecessary wait time happened and office manager didn't care about the long lines. I will consider other places to do scanning before coming here. read more

So I had a CT appointment scheduled and my appointment wasn't until 1215 came in probably about 20 minutes early was waiting in line heard them telling another patient they don't have a CT tech there nobody called me nothing... this is far away from my house, like 40 mins. was not allowed to eat this morning because of this test now still can't eat till after I do my test at three 30 at a location that's even further away from my house.. The front office staff is the WORST! Rude. I would use another word for it but won't. You are a bother. So DON'T bother with them. Go to SMIL IMAGING. WAY nicer and professional. I made an appointment online only to learn it wasn't an appointment?! So. I show up and was treated rudely. And then told ok 45 minutes to wait. Avoid at all cost. Much of the paperwork filled online was ignored. I asked for the manager after very rude treatment from the front desk. Horrible first time experience with Simon Med. I ended up making three separate appointments-and prior to each appt I was called by one of their reps to inform me that they did "not" have the proper staff available for the type of imaging that I was needing that day. Unbelievable! Strike 3 and I'M OUT!! Very unprofessional. I would not recommend their services to anyone I know. Definitely going elsewhere for my imaging needs. Seeing as I'm forced to give at least a one star rating, please note that I would have opted for "none". And get this...I received a text msg from SM today, confirming my appt. This place is walk-in only for X-Ray orders but the average wait is 45 minutes, maybe longer. When asked, "is there a better time to come in?", the response was to give me their hours and say "we never really know". I would say that means it's time to start making appointments instead of forcing clients to walk in and wait for "we never know how long". The front desk is also stereotypically loud - borderline yelling - and the entire waiting room can hear all of your information being discussed. There are better alternatives in the valley, I will be using those in the future. read more

What a horrible experience! I made an appointment at 5:00 pm for xrays and an mri. I was told to be there at 4:30, so I was. I sat there until 5:00 and they came and got me for the mri. When we finished I asked if I was getting xrays next and the mri tec said what? They didn't call you back for those? I said no, I've inthe reception area for 35 minutes and never called back. I was then informed by the girls at the front that they do not make appointments for xrays and I would have to come back and wait, first come first serve. Do yourself a favor! I had a ridiculous interaction with this "business" very unprofessional takes me longer then a week to make an appointment! I was given the wrong address for my appointment and when I finally got to the location I was told it would be over an hour wait. I find it incredibly selfish that companies allow themselves to be late for a APPOINTMENT. If a patient was late longer then 20 minutes I'm sure they would make you reschedule. This was the worst medical experience I have ever received. After getting a call that they were running behind and pushed my appointment back a whole hour....I came in filled out my necessary paperwork...sat and waited a half hour and then the male receptionist asked me for my referral paperwork...I told him that I didnt have anything and that I asked them several days ago if I needed anything and was told no...everything was all set...turns out they needed my referral...had nothing completed and had to reschedule for the next day...I was in a walking boot...my entire evening was ruined due to poor customer service and lack of communication by poor staffing...I never even received an apology like it was my fault...I do not recommend Simon Med Imaging to anyone...this is not the way real business should be conducted...Beware...!!!! read more

The visit itself went really well. It was easy to sign in, staff was friendly and seating was separated per social distancing. Everyone - staff and patients - were wearing masks. The bone density test was we administered by an experienced and friendly bone densitometry technologist. There was a hiccup with the appointment. My Dr. sent the request and I received an email from SimonMed saying I could make an appointment. However, when I made the appointment I was told there was no Dr. request, so I ended up calling my Dr. again. read more

My husband's appt was scheduled for 12:30, he was asked to be there at 12:15, for an MRI. He is claustrophobic and had to take medication 30 min. prior. He checked in and never was told they were behind schedule 30 min. Which turned in to an hour, then 1 hour 45 min. During that time receptionist never once communicated the delay. He had to ask how long the wait would be, along with another patient that was quite upset. Things happen that's understandable, what is not acceptable is lack of communication. My husband is patient and never complained, well not outloud. Hopefully changes will be made, the services they provide are essential for our health care, but so is communication. read more

I had an order for a lower back X-ray. There was no one waiting in the waiting room. I arrived at 125pm they said it would be a 35 minute wait. It is currently 245pm and I still have not been called in. I got called in at 250pm. Very unprofessional. That 15 people that came in later got called me before me. The x-ray literally took less than 3 minutes. The tech didn't much to say because she can tell I was upset. No eye contact. After I got done with my X-ray the front desk girls apologized and told me that they would send me a gift card and they were sorry for the wait. I NEVER RECEIVED ANYTHING!!!!! If you need an X-ray it's a walk in basics. So plan for wait your life away. read more

My 15 year old daughter was scheduled for a brain MRI without contrast. When we arrived, the tech told me she would have to give my daughter an injection which I promptly said, "What for? This is without contrast. There should not be any injection". The tech then said that it was with contrast and that they had called my doctors the day before and got their approval for the contrast since their radiologist needed it to complete the MRI and 'see everything'. I told the tech absolutely not. They could either do the MRI without or not at all. She kept insisting the MRI needed contrast because it wasn't going to show everything and I told her I was not injecting my daughter with poison and had a hard time believing my doctors approved this. We did the MRI without contrast. When we met with our doctors for the results (and thankfully my daughter is fine), I told them what the tech had said and that I was shocked they would approve contrast as that was never part of the testing that was discussed with me. Both my doctors said they did receive several calls from SimonMed Imaging the day before the test and both doctors told SimonMed they would NOT approve contrast! That made much more sense to me as I knew if anything had changed my doctors would have informed me and I had a hard time believing they'd do that to begin with! I am hugely disappointed in SimonMed Imaging Baywood. Shame on you for lying! Thank God I was intelligent enough to know not to just accept their word that they received approval from my doctors! As a patient people- you have rights to decline!! Shame on you for most likely trying to bill the insurance for more than required (why else would you lie about wanting to use contrast if not to add to the bill. My doctors didn't ask for it when they sent you the test request and understood what results may be received from one without and you still insisted!! ??) and SHAME on you for such overall unethical business practices! I've used this location several times prior for other imaging needs and never had anything like this happen to me before. It was completely disappointing and very upsetting especially when I found out my doctors had NOT approved contrast! Its a great disservice to your clients to insist that you received approval for a service that indeed was not approved from a doctor. Injecting a person with contrast has its risks to begin with and every person should feel confident they are having their testing done properly and as requested by their doctor and if a doctor does not give approval and you tell me they did- that's a huge problem SimonMed!! read more

Had an MRI done here. I arrived shortly before my appointment, the paperwork was done and the payment was made. I waited about 15 minutes and was taken back to get ready. The MRI Techs were friendly and explained the procedure to me. I was out of there in about 45 minutes. Very professional staff and clean facility. read more

Then they did't get my insurance approved becaue they said they could not get through I was ready to leave and go to EVDI, she then said if I used my credit card they would hold it till they got approval then once approved they would notifiy me that I could come by and pick up the receipt. Frustrating experience dealing with SimonMed. I called in and scheduled my appointment for an MRI on 8/31 knowing it takes time for my insurance to authorize. I arrived today at my scheduled appointment time and was informed that my insurance had not yet been contacted and I would need to reschedule at least two business days out. Today is Friday and my procedure is scheduled on Monday. Varun scheduled me 11 days out to ensure enough time was given for the insurance company to approve but I'm guessing never sent it in to BCBSAZ. I'm now forced to cancel everything and start from scratch. I decided not to schedule with the lady at the front desk as I needed to call TWO other doctors and find a time that matches up for everyone. When I called to get rescheduled and told them the office I prefer I was informed that my Provider prefers this MRI with a specific machine that isn't available at the location I was scheduled at today. Did Varun not notice that when he took 45 minutes to get me scheduled?! Is it customary to not inform the pt. before arriving to their appointment that they aren't really scheduled because no one sent in the insurance authorization? I'm dealing with a pretty serious medical condition and I have totally lost faith in SimonMed. Super messy and y'all are dealing with people's lives. read more

Very unprofessional. My wife had an appointment at this location which she setup over a week before when she gave them all her insurance information. They had even sent a text message confirming her copy amount. When she showed up for her appointment not only did they lie and say the left a voicemail, (which they didn't), but they said they no longer taker her insurance. Unbelievable! Why did they take her insurance information over a week ago and even inform her of her copay if they didn't even take her insurance in the first place. I had an MRI on Wednesday 3/18/20. It took over 2 Hours!! When I arrived I was told they were running 30 min's late. Not true ~ I was exposed to several people already there & several people coming in & leaving as I waited! I was taken back finally after an hour & 15 mins. to wait some more in a back hallway with only a hospital gown on, though I was given a thin blanket after a while. My husband waited in the car, due to the Corona Virus concerns. We are self quarantined @ home, but had waited for this important appointment for months. Had never tried an open MRI before but if i ever have to have another MRI this is the only way to go. It's never going to be a pleasant experience, but not bring completely encapsulated makes it a much better experience. This office was very proficient and professional. I was actually taken in before my appointment time, a first in my decades of visiting medical offices! I would highly recommend this facility. read more
