I love this place once you get an appointment. All the local numbers on their site are bad, I told them this the last two times I tried to schedule. I just called the main number on their site again, they transferred me to their Chandler location number for an appointment. The woman who answered the phone was very condescending and when I asked her name she ignored me, I asked again and she hung up on me. I called back and asked for a sup. He handled it and set the appointment. They get a 5 start once you get in the door but getting appointments gets no stars. read more

A few years back I had a scan at the SimonMed in Scottsdale, which was not an unpleasant experience. When it came time for another scan, I remembered my prior trip and called SimonMed in Chandler to make an appointment. It was one of the strangest calls I've ever had. I read the doctor's orders to the girl making the appointments, had my insurance info handy, and my calendar up and ready to roll. I was on hold a total of 4 times on this call, which lasted about a total of 20 minutes. The last time she came back on the line, the girl making the appointments insisted my doctor did not order the scan correctly, and that "because of my age", I needed to get several additional tests done. That was a poor choice of words. If she wanted to strong arm me into more overpriced tests that I didn't need, she shouldn't have brought my age into it. Let me start by saying I'm not old, and I am very aware of what tests need to be done; I am also aware of the recommended ages for said tests. I've spent a lot of time in and out of specialists' offices over the last 4 years, and have unwillingly become my own medical advocate/expert. It's a side effect of having a slew of medical disorders, compliments of my two genetic donaters. Long before I went to my doctor to get the orders for the scan, I had researched all my options, the costs involved, and knew exactly what I wanted and needed; there is no chance anyone is going to talk me into anything I don't need. As the girl at SimonMed proceeded to continue to give me the hard sell, thinking she can scare me into shelling out more money, I stop her mid sentence. I simply ask if she is able to complete the scan as ordered, because I'm well aware of what those other scans are for, and I don't need them. Her response was an indignant "No." That was all I needed to hear. Before she could continue the hard sell, I thanked her and hung up. I wouldn't recommend SimonMed to anyone, unless you enjoy unnecessary scans, and being treated like you're stupid. Getting scanned, all in of itself, is unpleasant enough, I don't need to be insulted and bullied prior. read more

I went and had a CT scan that took 15 minutes in july 2017. They asked "what insurance?" I state,"I am cash pay." SO $400 bucks then I get a bill for $2200, 10 days later. I call discuss with customer service 2nd time and she states, "you have a zero balance." SO to repeat I was cash pay and I confirmed with the girl at front desk I owed nothing else on the first visit. She confirmed my account was closed. Then today 2.5 plus months later I get a bill in the mail stating that I owe $200 for IV contrast dye. REALLY??? So third time I call and again wasting tons of my time I wait on hold and roast the lady for incompetency. She says, "I am not sure you have a zero balance let me listen to last phone call with customer service.. Really and no one has made any notes in their system. When I ask for a confirmation number she states, "we don't have those." REALLY???? what is this business fred flinstone incorporated???? THESE SIMON MED DISHONEST, NO INTEGRITY company I hope they get their pants sued off soon and please go anywhere else for your test. I was referred there by my OB for pregnancy ultrasounds. The first appointment, for the confirmation ultrasound went horribly. I was scheduled for a 1pm appointment, and to arrive with a full bladder. I arrived at 12:30 (which was the check in time), with a full bladder. They took my information and told I would be seen shortly. I was in the waiting room for an additional 2 hours, with a full bladder, and was in excruciating pain by that point. I was finally brought in to see the technician and from that point there were no more issues for that visit. When my OB scheduled an anatomy ultrasound with them, I figured I would try them out again. The visit was very similar to the first one. I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment, this time i did NOT drink any water, to save myself the pain. I waited for 50 minutes before they called me back. When my doctor received the results, apparently the ultrasound had not been completed! She had to schedule a second anatomy. When we got there I explained to the new tech that the first one had been incomplete, and to please ensure that we get everything. Upon returning to my doctor yesterday she informed me that, AGAIN, it was not complete and they would need to schedule a third! from what I have read this is very uncommon! I told her that the appointment would need to be scheduled with a specialist at this point because i refuse to ever have to go there again! read more

Ahwatukee location has a lot to improve on. While competent enough in imaging, customer service is lacking. Clearly volume of clients is an issue in relation to staffing. Not enough staff to meet demands. Confusion over which appointments may be walk in or needed to be scheduled. Unclear information given at time of booking over how to prepare for tests, resulting in inability to get test, therefore wasting my time by having to come back. Ultrasound technician has a total lack of personality or empathy. Overall feeling of indifference toward me. Not good enough when there are so many other radiology companies vying for my business. Truly a poor expetience allround. I will not be suggesting this company to family or friends read more

After waiting for a refund, and making quite a few calls, a refund was finally issued to me (4 months later). Amanda B. was very helpful and got things straightened out right away. I only wish I had contacted her sooner. I would however still warn about long office wait times, large up-front payments and slow refunds. Having insured patients pay up front for services (amounts that are well above copay) is a poor practice, and if it must be done then a much more efficient accounting system is clearly necessary. read more

So instead of going to Simon med I had my obgyn send the orders for my ultra sound to east valley diagnostic center (Evdi) and I didn't have a co pay! And Simon med wanted me to pay an upfront cost of 55 bucks and EVDI only charged me 28 bucks! Talk about how Simon med over estimates charges and hey would've owed me back. Who would've known how much time it would take me to get my cash back. While they collect the interest on e money hey owe me. If you want to go to a imaging center that doesn't have a crappy pay first policy go to Evdi and there is no wait! read more

This excuse for a medical facility deserves no stars. Simon Med is one of the sneaky ones, avoid this place at all costs. My wife went here in April for an x-ray and was overcharged, (this is the second time it's happened to us) I've been calling billing ever since trying to get a refund. they are rude, uncaring, and keep saying it will take 6-8 weeks. DO NOT GO HERE! Where do I even start, first of all it was very difficult to schedule an appointment and the next appointment they had available was three weeks out. So finally after waiting three weeks of stress and worry that I could have breast cancer I show up to my appointment and the lady tells me that I'm at the wrong location. Fine, not a big deal so I drive to the location that she gives me which was only 2 minutes away. I walk in to the second office and the lady tells me that this is STILL not the right location. So I drive to the third location which takes me a good ten minutes driving around the parking lot to even find the building and when I walk in the lady at the front desk, who is extremely rude, tells me that they've been trying to call me because they had to cancel my appointment since they just stopped taking diagnostic mammograms at that location YESTERDAY. She then begin to tell me that the next available day that I can be scheduled is ANOTHER THREE WEEKS out. I had never received any voicemails from them at all so that was obviously bull to cover up a mistake that they had made. Worst customer service I have ever received! I am shocked that a medical office would treat their patients this way. DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME BY GOING HERE! read more

Mary, my technician was very kind. She was very knowledgable and patient (bad shoulder can make positioning me a challenge). Least painful mammogram I have had. Also, I was called back at my appt time to the minute. Was able to get a Saturday a.m. Appointment which I always appreciate. read more

The office staff and technicians have been fabulous on multiple visits over the years. The BILLING is the worst there is because SimonMed has abdicated responsibility for patients' billing to a heartless third-party, Physicians Billing. This billing company cares nothing for patients and is in it only for the money. They seem to believe that lying is OK if it brings in more revenue. In my case they lied about multiple communications with my insurance company who told them to cut the price for the service by two-thirds. I was to pay the new amount as part of my deductible. Instead they continued to bill the original amount and told me I had to prove that my insurance company had talked to them. To their very great surprise, I did that. So, they entered the new lower amount and had their computer call me the next day demanding payment since the account was overdue and my insurance company had NEVER talked to them (I had emails from my insurance company and them that contradicted this.) I called them immediately and was shortly hung up on. I called a second time and the computer recognized my phone number and sent me to a higher level fixer. After implying that I either couldn't afford or didn't want to pay my 24 hours old bill, that had taken over 2 months to resolve, the representative offered me 5 percent off if I wanted to pay it today. I accepted her challenge and was sent to robo pay land where I was charged a higher amount. I hung up. I called a third time and the robot pay lady offered me the 5% off amount. I paid. Had I not been on them multiple times about their bill amount, I'd be out hundreds of dollars. read more

I called last week set the appointment for 0800 so that I could go to work by 0900. The person on the phone had me read the order by my physician and kindly explained the exam. I showed up at 0745 (as instructed) completed the two page paperwork, was in the exam room by 0755. Out the door at 0805. -- Wow, my employer was thrilled that I got to work 1/2 earlier than I said. The technician was great. The mammogram test can be intimidating and certainly isn't comfortable, but her kind manner and directness was appreciated. read more

As I am sitting here on hold waiting to schedule for over 30 minutes now,(15 minutes to main schedule #, transferred to location #, continue on hold) I am reading prior reviews. I too have had billing issues in the past but otherwise the staff has been friendly and courteous so I decided to return to this location. I hate this place. I'm done. I had a scheduled appointment today for a breast ultrasound. I had to wait over a week for the appointment, and had to plan my day around the appointment time. I had previous breast ultrasounds at another imaging center. When I called to schedule, I had explained this to the scheduler and said I was aware that Simon Med can get those records. She said yes. I arrived early and waited for more than 30 minutes past my appointment time. After changing into the gown and going to the exam room, I was informed by the technician that they didn't have my previous records and my records were not even ordered by the scheduler! I was furious! She said that I could have my ultrasound today, but it could take 2 weeks to get my records for comparison. She suggested that I may want to pick them up myself. I said if I have to drive to Gilbert to pick up my records, I might as well get my ultrasound done there! Why am I having to be inconvenienced because of their incompetent staff?! I've already wasted a lot of time waiting for my appointment date, then waiting in the waiting room, then finding out that their scheduler screwed up!! Why does Simon Med hire incompetent people ? Or, are they not training them thoroughly? Certain jobs, such as in healthcare, require attention to detail! Patients' health and, possibly, lives are at stake! Location on Val Vista. Terrible service. Appt was 1:30 with a 1:15 check in. At 3:00 NOTHING! I stormed out with the office manager trying to tell me my appt. wasn't until 2:30. NOT TRUE!!!! I even have the confirmation call from the day before confirming the 1:15 and 1:30. This was a second mamo with an ultrasound due to a prior abnormal reading. We had a routine diagnostic procedure done through Simon Med in 2014. They waited 12 months to try to file the claim against the insurance and so it was turned down. Then they waited an additional 6 months to bother to inform us and in the process billed us for $511 and sent to a collection agency which we are disputing. We will not be responsible for SMI not filing a timely claim to our insurance company. Now whenever we are scheduled for a lab process we explicitly tell the doctor to not use Simon Med. If SMI resolves this situation for us then we will modify or remove this critical review. read more

I wish I could give this business a big fat zero. The billing is inefficient and unfair. I had service in July of 2016. I have two insurances which needed to be billed and should have paid this service in full. I never received a bill from Simon Med Imaging and I was not surprised as I assumed that my two insurances coordinated benefits and covered this. I just received a bill for $38.70 from a collection agency today, almost one year from the date of service. When I called the SimonMed billing department, they were cold, uncaring, and unhelpful. They did state that they sent me one bill on November 13th (which I did not receive). They said after that they made two 'robot' calls to my cell phone in December 2016 (which I do not remember). They could not explain to me why they would only send one bill out for a service and then submit to collections. I will never have any imaging at this business again. read more

I wish I could give them a big fat goose egg!!! They are a factory with high volume and overcrowded waiting rooms. My wait time was ridiculous. The person performing my test was not concerned with the discomfort she caused during my exam. I was told I needed to have a followup appointment since they found issues that needed further testing. When they called for my followup appointment reminder, they told me I needed to pay $211.00 upfront since my deductible was not met for the year and this is a secondary followup exam which is not covered by my insurance plan! When I came in for my appointment, they told me I owed them $406.00!!!!! Same excuse... my deductible was not yet met! They offered a payment plan, take $50 out for the appointment and pay the rest on an installment plan. I've read in other reviews on the BBB website that this is a common practice for them to overcharge and all reviews were negative as well. read more

This was the worst experience of my whole pregnancy. Went to the one in Mesa AZ. For some reason my insurance doesn't pay for ultrasounds at my doctor, only at labs. I made the appointment for my 19 weeks ultrasound. And met Randy the ultrasound technician. I had been excited about this ultrasound for months. Among being generally uninterested in us, Randy took about 20ish pictures of the baby, mumbling what was on them. I told him I couldn't see the screen, and he proceeded to ignore me. At my ANATOMY SCAN I COULD NOT SEE THE BABY because the technician had the screen turned away from me. Also when he couldn't see what he wanted and he wanted the baby to move he SHOOK MY BELLY. Roughly! Without warning me or asking my permission first. And of the 20ish pictures he took that I couldn't see, he printed out 5 blurry pictures for me. I can only assume the rest are blurry as well, because he took no time to make them clear. read more
