Was charged up front for my MRI over $450.00 when it should have been a $100 copay. My insurance refiled the claim over 5 weeks ago and I get the run around from Simon Med and have been told my refund would be paid once the insurance paid, which they did over a month ago. Being the first appointment I was called back 30 minutes late. I was scheduled for an Upper GI. Once I finally got back to the room, quickly drank the drinks and the machine broke. Sounded like both the doctor and the nurse knew about the problem. The facility is poorly arranged. The scheduling issue was nothing new. I went to a different Simon Med for a different procedure a couple months ago and had the first appointment. I was advised to arrive before the office even opened. Received a call from Simon Med saying my dr called in an order. I just went in for a Mammogram the other day, A little history my mother and her sister both passed away from breast cancer so every visit I am nervous. They could not tell me why so I called my dr. to find out they never called in an order that my test was negative and that it is a suggestion from the radiologist because of dense breast tissue. I was so not happy with the service when someone says my doctor ordered the MRI I am thinking they found something. My doctor said they have been doing that to a lot of their female patients so call your doctor first before making an appointment. A while back I had to go in for imagining which when the appointment was made they said it was covered under my insurance and I did not have to pay. I walk in and they tell me I owe $400. Don't even try to make an appointment by phone. Average wait time is 20 Minutes on hold. I was told by doctor that SimonMed would call me to schedule. It never happened. So after several days, I decided to call them. After long waits on hold, I hung up twice before finally getting a clerk who told me she found no record of my doctor's orders. I drove to their clinic and, face to face, a clerk did find my orders filed in my doctor's name, not mine, probably why I was never called. This delayed diagnostic work up by one whole week. read more

No call back as indicated, not that day or the next day. I called and they didn't know anything about my appointment. They rescheduled at my choosen location. I was called later to say that they couldn't perform my test at that location. I was scheduled at a new location. That location called and informed me that they didn't take my Cigna insurance but a different location did. I was rescheduled there. I never leave Yelp reviews but after waiting for 45 minutes to find out how much it would cost I waited another 45 minutes on hold to cancel my appointment but no one ever came on so I hung up. I gave them two stars as I was not held hostage in the waiting area for an extended period of time as others were. However billing is a problem with these people. They will over charge and then good luck in trying to get a refund. I had a CT in the middle of October, when I checked what the insurance paid and what my portion would be, I saw I overpaid. I called toward the end of October and was told I would be paid back in four to six weeks. How about that, when you arrive for the scan they want payment up front. But when you want your money back do to over charging four to six weeks wait MAYBE. It did not happen when I called back I was told to check my credit card for a credit. Guess what NADA. Not surprised I called back and I was told that they did not start processing the refund until December first. Lets see that would be six weeks after I called they (allegedly) started the refund process. Now I must wait another six weeks bringing the total wait to twelve weeks. Maybe longer. I may see a response telling me sorry for the inconvenience and they will look into it. Don't bother! I read other folks reviews and it is the same thing over and over. People if you have options to go elsewhere do it. That is what i will do in the future. read more

SimonMed requested payment at time of service for an ultrasound even though my insurance policy has a zero co-pay. And I won't get a refund for payment until after the claim is settled ( 30+ days). If this is their standard business practice--fine. However they should inform patients of upfront payment policy while booking the appointment. read more

After being told I would need to shell out close to $500 for one MRI after already having had to make pay arrangements for a prior that only cost $300. I call BCBS only to be told that there was a nominal CO-pay. What shady business is this? I was sent here for a Ct scan. I made an appointment for 1:15 and was told to be there 15 minutes early to complete paperwork. I showed up at 12:40 and completed the paperwork and paid my copay (u shouldn't pay this until after the service). My appointment time came and went with no explanation. At 2:00 i was finally administered the CT scan and had to wait another 15 minutes for the scanned disk. I thought the staff was professional but i don't understand the prolonged waiting when you schedule an appointment. I hope i don't have to come back. read more

This location is very slow. The front office staff is awful. They are slow to check you in and get you through billing so you can see the tech. When you complain they blame it all on corporate instead of taking the responsibility and properly training their staff. ZERO stars! Seriously, do yourself a favor and find another imaging center. I was told by my doctor's office to call this place to schedule an appointment for my ultrasound. I did so and was on hold for 29 minutes before I hung up. I called back, selected a different option in hopes of getting a hold of an actual person which worked; I got a hold of someone at their central office. I explained my situation and she said she would try to call them. She waited for 27 minutes and then came back on the phone with me and said she didn't know what they were doing or why they weren't answering and she didn't know what to tell me. She said she held the line until it actually hung up on her. I told her I guess I would have to go to a different imaging place and she agreed and apologized because she said there was nothing she could do for me. read more

I took the advice of others who left reviews and called BCBS to find out what I should pay for a diagnostic mammo at my appt today. I was told by Simon Med that I will owe $310 today. BCBS says that is the amount that remains to meet my deductible for the year. The exact amount due cannot be known without billing codes. The billing codes then reveal the "allowable" amount contracted by my particular plan. In my experience, that will probably be less than $310, but I guess Simon Med would rather owe the patient money than vice versa. read more

I'm updating to 2 stars because the day I left my yelp review I got a comment from Amanda at Simon med imaging who offered to help rectify the situation. I didn't think it was going to go anywhere but within a week I got my refund thanks to Amanda. It shouldn't have to come to this to get my refund but at least it was finally resolved. I was referred to Simonmed by my doctor. I went in to have a MRI done on 2 parts of my body. First of all the staff was very unprofessional. A technician walked into the waiting room while I was sitting there and proceeded to ask another older woman why the doctor had ordered tests for her. He then proceeded to ask several questions about her past health. He was completely disrespectful of her privacy. After I was called back and asked to change a different technician asked me the same thing out in the hall with another customer sitting nearby. If you have ever had a MRI you know how loud the machine is while you are lying in it. They gave me a pair of earphones that are meant to block out the noise and play music through them. The earphones were horrible. The only time the music could be heard was whenever the machine would stop and they did not block out the noise at all. The one positive thing was that they did move me in and out of my appointment quickly. I have had a MRI before at another business and the difference in the whole experience was night and day. Simonmed needs to brush up on their customer service skills and they way they deal with their patients. I would not go back there again. read more

I had an appointment tonight at 9 o'clock. I was to be here at 8:30 to check in. I received a call at 7 o'clock from Rachel asking if I could come in early since they had a cancellation. I arrived at 7:30.....only to find the door locked and no one at the business. I tried calling the phone number on the door...in fact I tried calling every Simon Med phone number in the Valley....but they close at 5 o'clock per their ubiquitous recording. Well after reading all the negative reviews about Simon Med Im happy that I get to write a positive one. I scheduled a very early appointment and the doors opened at exactly 7am. I was greeted with a smile and a good morning. Once my paperwork was filled out I was immediately called back. I had two procedures scheduled back to back and was in an out in less that 40 minutes. I should have read the reviews first! I was told by my insurance that the estimated cost for the ultrasound I need is $112-$189 at Simon Med. When I arrived Simon Med required me to pay $549. I asked where the discrepancy was and long story short, they will not bill out to your insurance if you have a deductible greater than their price. They make you pay everything up front. Meaning rather than reaching out to the insurance and having the insurance lower your cost like they always do, Simon Med has you pay whatever amount they want you to, effectively ripping you off cause you still have a deductible. Unbelievable!!! I will never, ever use them and would not recommend them to anyone who doesn't want to get screwed out of hundreds of dollars. read more

After trying to schedule an appointment 3 times and being disconnected after hitting "1" - I finally got a human being that transferred me to the right location. I was put on hold for over 30 minutes, then disconnected. I called back and got a snarky, rude guy that hung up on me after I asked him NOT to put me on hold. Really?? -- Is this any way to run a business? Maybe I don't have a choice (my insurance company requires I go there) - but eventually the service will affect whether or not patients will use this company. Everyone here is friendly and they work fast! They have been nothing but accommodating to me and my child. We came for an x-ray at 430pm, and it wasn't very busy so we didn't wait very long. The whole process took about 20 minutes the waiting and the whole process. read more

The people answering the phones are clueless. They tell me they have no records of any MRI's done and yet I have the CD and hard copies in my hand!! Had test done last january at the Desert Ridge office and was a self pay. Means I payed them up front out of my pocket, no insurance for the test. The discounted rate was 137.00 which I paid. Couple of weeks later bill shows up saying I owe additional 403. Talked to April on !/24 and was told it was coded wrong and I didn't owe anymore and she would fix it. Got bill for 403 again in March called and was told same story Today I received notice from collection agency for 403 that Simon Med had turned over to them to collect. Contacted Simon med again today was told by Wendy that I didn't owe anything and her supervisor would call collection agency and get this resolved. Guess we will see, but what a joke. Wasted a bunch of times now with 3 phone calls tracking down the appropriate people at Simon med plus time messing around with the collection agency. read more

I was there at 235 S Dobson for my first CT. When I got there the receptionist then told me that I had to go to the south building. It's very unprofessional to me. I hope in the future they can alert you in ahead of time when they call tot remind you not to eat or drink. Need better customer service skills for sure. read more

I scheduled my yearly mammogram based on a friend's recommendation, then saw the reviews and I'll admit, it made me uneasy. I scheduled online and the person that called to confirm was very nice and efficient. I kept my appointment, as the Chandler location is very convenient for me. Today was my appointment and the only bad thing I have to say is that it was too cold inside for my liking. I arrived at 4:30, was taken back by 5 and done by 5:30. Not to bad if you ask me. I would give them zero stars if it was an option, call for appointment and was told they don't do appointments for x-rays, so I show up with my daughter for her x-ray and was told it would be an hour and a half wait. After an hour and or so I ask how much longer and the receptionist says that she called us a few times and then skipped us. I asked what name she was calling( because I never heard my daughters name and we were in the lobby) and she was saying the wrong name. Receptionist was obviously not paying attention enough to even read a name correctly or apparently she's unable to stand up and look in the lobby to see if we were there. It took us almost 2 hours for a 5 min x-ray. Very disappointed in this location and receptionist, we definitely will not be returning for any of their services in our future. read more

DON"T GO HERE!!! I have never been so frustrated in my life! it took 4 phone calls to and from different people to make my appointment. The equipment in Ahwatukee is soooo slow that they will call you to make sure that you know that the procedure is going to take hours! I went back to SimonMed with a CD from 2009 to have a comparison done. I personally handed the CD to a technician who assured me that the work would be done in time for my appointment with my oncologist a few days later. I just received a call from my oncologist who stated that SimonMed did not have my CD. Keep in mind that I am waiting to find out if my cancer has spread. I called SimonMed and I was told that they did have mu CD and that it had been downloaded. To make a long story short...this company does not know what they are doing. Stay away! read more

I received a reply from Simon Med in regards to my original review. Their reply indicated they were sorry for the trouble I am having asked me to email them at socialmedia@simonmed.com. I did that a week ago and I have not heard back from them. Judging from all the negative reviews I have seen on Yelp, this does not surprise me. My original review of them has not changed. I have never had so much trouble with a billing department. This office operates like a scam. Over a year ago I had an MRI there. They were paid the same day as my exam. However I keep getting billed for the same procedure. I have called 5 times to correct the problem. They are friendly on the phone, but then do nothing except send me another bill. I had a recent injury that required a MRI. My insurance sent me to SMI because they were under contract with them. Though the procedure was approved and my insurance paid them immediately, SMI continues to bill me for an amount more than what is allowed and my insurance says it is not owed to them. I called SMI numerous times and they have still not corrected the problem. After looking at all the bad reviews in Yelp about SMI I wish I had gone somewhere else. I noticed that SMI has even hired a person to review the bad reviews and complaints about SMI. It seems to me their time would be better spent improving customer service and not writing phony responses on Yelp. read more

I love this place once you get an appointment. All the local numbers on their site are bad, I told them this the last two times I tried to schedule. I just called the main number on their site again, they transferred me to their Chandler location number for an appointment. The woman who answered the phone was very condescending and when I asked her name she ignored me, I asked again and she hung up on me. I called back and asked for a sup. He handled it and set the appointment. They get a 5 start once you get in the door but getting appointments gets no stars. read more
