In 2016 SMI completed MRI no complications. 3 years later at the SAME office that did the 2016 MRI, wouldn't do an MRI because they did not have model # or serial # of coil in my brain stem. Said they would contact Dr. to get authorization and call me back (they did call Dr. but did not call me back). Go in 3 days later, AFTER SMI told me they got verbal authorization to do procedure. New tech said NO that she would not take anyone's word over the phone, they wouldn't call the other tech, they wouldn't call other tech assistant, they wouldn't call their supervisor. She absolutely would not do procedure with information in writing. Even her colleagues authorization over phone wouldn't be good enough. So I am still without procedure, staff very uncooperative, unwilling to see what could be done. Just flat out "NO" Wasted two mornings waiting to have simple procedure done, that had been done there before. Still waiting, still in pain, surgeon cannot proceed without images. I was really nervous about getting a CT scan for the first time but Greg assisted me with it and was amazing!! He was so personable and immediately put my nerves at ease. You can tell that he loves his job. I had an appointment and was in and out. I had an MRA today at the Simon Med on Frye road. Jessica was the receptionist. She was very knowledgable and helpful. Ryan Arelano was the technician that helped me with taking an MRA. I let him know I have really bad claustrophia. He was so nice and helpful. He checked on me through out the procedure. Horrible customer service. My wife and I have used this company twice in the last 3 months. The first time her orthopedic provided them with the info they needed to get a preauthorization for an mri of her broken leg. They failed to do so in advance leading a decline of coverage. They continue to refuse to do so. In December I had a ct scan done. I confirmed with insurance that all ct scans are covered. They have refused to submit a claim even though it is in their contract to do so. Never again will I set foot there!!! read more

I had an appointment scheduled on September 2nd for a CT. I even got a text to confirm my CT on the morning of. When I showed up, the lady at the front desk told me their CT machine was down. She made an appointment for me at the Kyrene location. I drove across town to that location only to find their CT machine is also down. Is this some kind of cruel joke? I got a Sunday morning appointment, which was great because my MRI was done within a week of my surgeon's order. I put the appointment in Google Calendar, but, days later, I changed the calendar settings and my MRI appointment disappeared, unbeknownst to me. SimonMed called me the day before my appointment, which reminded me, but it has several locations and the address I had to go to had been deleted along with the appointment time in my calendar. My check-in time was 8:30 a.m. I arrived at 9 (thanks Google Maps for sending me to the wrong site). Fortunately the receptionist was welcoming and didn't make me reschedule. The MRI technician Antoinette was cheery and made the scan less intolerable by giving me updates on the number of frequencies remaining till the finish line. No one loves having an MRI. The machine can make anyone temporarily claustrophobic. But SimonMed earned 5 stars for this experience. (Note: This location does have Sunday appointments for MRIs only, despite the hours of operation written on the door.) read more

Told "new system" "new staff" etc. 1.5 hours on hold (yes, let phone sit while I did other things) trying to reschedule. No call backs. Horrible customer service when finally connected. The ONLY saving grace was Monica, who worked through it after months of back and forth, and got the approval status corrected and MRI scheduled. Day of MRI, show up for appointment only to be told I would have to put down a credit card for full payment due to high deductible. The deductible had been met. Told it was policy to collect credit card up front. Walked away. It is stressful enough to go through cancer issues/testing/etc. But to have to deal with thid 3rd world provider took the cake. DO NOT SUBJECT YOURSELF TO THIS. Go ELSEWHERE. read more

It takes for ever to get a call back once your Dr. sends an order if your lucky. Most times you have to call them. My cardiologist orders a CT -A ( self pay) , called every 4 days. Left messages. No one calls you back. Had someone finally call and schedule it and within an hour the canceled it. Wrong location apparently. Then it took calling a compliance line to get someone to call and schedule. This process is too slow, complicated and needs processes changed. read more

The medical staff was great. Unfortunately their hands are tied by the incompetent front desk staff. They "misplaced" my doctor's order so they had to call the doctor's office for verification. My mammogram was done but they didn't know about the chest x-ray that was also on the order. 2-1/2 hours later I finally got out of there. Then they didn't send the x-ray results until two weeks later when I called my doctor about the results. My doctor contacted Simonmed and they then sent the xrays over. I should have made an extra copy of the doctor's order.. next time. read more

Having to come over to this location from Dignity Health is kind of a bother. It is a completely separate location you have to drive to and if you have to go to & from on same day- it can be an inconvenience. Have been here two times in the last four months. Once with my daughter & once with my son for X-rays. The process if fairly easy: if there is no wait. Office receptionists average in explanation ( if given) & not much to a greeting or personality when checking you in. You'll have to have your paperwork ready & insurance info in hand. Prices will vary depending on your insurance. Staff tries to get you in and out quickly. We have had the same young blonde assistant both times we've been in, she is pleasant. X-ray room organized, clean and sanitary. Believe they have several dressing rooms in back if needed depending on what type of X-rays are required. There is a small (darkrooms) where the still framed X-ray images will appear on a computer after they are taken after the push of a bottom. I believe the whole area is set up is what they call a shielding design, so that the patients (when not being examined) the X Ray department staff, visitors and the public or any persons working adjacent to or near the X Ray facility are protected from any and all radiation. I was able to stay with each of my children during their visits on the other side of the darkroom. It made myself and my kids feel more comfortable and knowing as well ; that I wasn't exposed while with them made it a more comforting experience for us all. read more

DON'T GO HERE. This facility is used for MRI with contrast. You must go here to have this done. I arrived 30 minutes early for my scheduled appointment. Note the word scheduled. When I asked if they were running on time the front desk person said yes. There was just one person ahead of me. As I watched four patients go ahead of me, including an unscheduled patient, I was not happy. But backing up a bit...I had completed pre authorization over a week ago, confirmed my appointment on line several days before, uploaded my insurance card and drivers license before and even a half hour before my appointment, I was still getting reminders to confirm my appt. Receptionist asked for full payment because I had not met my deductible - I paid full price so that I could wait for one hour to then be told while on the table half way through my exam that they had run out of contrast. 'she' would be back in 5 or 6 minutes with the contrast liquid from across the street....are you kidding me? I had to lay still in a freezing room with the needle in my arm waiting for the contrast liquid. I had a SCHEDULED appointment. I paid full price for the MRI w Contrast. PS Facility is dirty and there is crap all over the MRI Room. It is like a back alley storage room with crap and boxes all over the shelves. It was awful. I am certain my test will have failed. I am happy to report that I had a completely different experience at this SimonMed location than other reviewers. The Office Staff was warm and friendly (even though I was several minutes late past my check-in time. Whoops). Setup my payment plan and had me fill out two forms. I barely sat for 5 or 10 minutes before they called me to go back. The technician who was running my CT (sorry I can't remember your name!) couldn't have been more kind, and was totally understanding of my fear of needles. She talked me through the whole thing, cracked a few jokes, and was very reassuring. She even made sure to let my boyfriend pop in briefly before the test started for moral support. 5 or so minutes later, I was done and on my way. Bonus, this location is open for select tests on Saturdays. Hopefully, I don't need another scan soon, but if I do, I'd happily choose this location. Thank you! PS: I did overhear that there is another SimonMed location in the same complex, and got the impression they only handled X-Rays? Don't know for sure, but that could be confusing to new people. read more

Appointment day - I called the location at 9:30am to verify the out of pocket cost for my MRI after booking a week ago, allowing time to check the cost with my insurance. I was told $178.53, then I get a call back at 2:31 asking if I could come in AT 2:30 or 3pm because it would take longer than they thought. Only to show up check in and then hold if would be $459 I questioned why I was told the price over the phone, excuses and more excuses. I did my part before I scheduled and inquired about the cost, but was told they couldn't tell me until after I booked the appointment, so I booked and thought i was okay inquiring the day of to determine if I wanted this or not, with open enrollment around the corner. I could have decided and made the choice beforehand, that option was taken away. I asked to speak with the office manager, it was ignored. I'm here at 3pm as asked, only to check-in and sit across the hall while they are with another patient. It's 3:40pm not good at all! read more

Still trying to get a bill dispute resolved and spoke with a lady who finally returned my call because the supervisor who I was dealing with no longer works there, this is the same supervisor who promised 2 gas cards well over 2.5 months ago and this new lady said I'd hear back from her in 72 hours and that was 2 weeks ago. If this bill ever appears on my credit report I'll file suit. I'd give zero stars if I could as this is one disastrous company- STAY AWAY This problem has worsened after a Supervisor who said had handled the problem and got me to go to another facility no longer works there and when I contacted billing department over 40 days ago she said she would hold my account until she hears from facility but now they have sent my account to collections and now I will be filing suit against this company for damages to my stellar credit. read more

They have 3 locations in the same parking lot. I made an appointment for an ultrasound at 7am at one of the locations. Once I got there, there is a notice on the door that says to go to the other location, once I get there reception tells me to go to the third location. I walk in irritated already as I am now late. Reception says they don't start ultrasounds until 8 and no appts are available today. I tell her I made an appt for 7 on their website. She said "we are trying to get away from our website appts and require a phone call for all appointments". Hmm, wouldn't that need to be taken off of your website then?? I needed an MRI for my shoulder. They were able to schedule it really late in the day, so I only had to take an hour off of work. I'm claustrophobic, so it was hard for me. I made the mistake of opening my eyes, and then I felt a panic attack coming on. I was starting to feel sick. I felt like I'd have to squeeze the thingy to stop, but my shoulder hurts really bad. I knew I needed to do this. The lady was really great. She kept asking if I was ok and told me each time the imaging was starting and how long it would take. That really helped. Thought maybe it was a glitch so tried chat option only to see no chats available (even though website pushed it and this was during business hours). So tried calling and placed on hold for 15 minutes, so tried callback option. A guy did call back about 5 hours later from another state. So gave up on SimonMed and got simple appointment done in IL, where scheduling was easy and appt was very quick and professional. read more

Had an appointment at 12 on a Saturday and got a call explaining they were running behind 2 hours, okay things happen no problem. But to show up for check in two hours after to be told they are still running another two hours behind. Didn't end up being seen until 5 hours past my original appointment time. The workers here were awesome! They offer late night appointments for MRI's which was weird but convenient. They got me in early as I was the last appointment of the night. They were professional and quick. They made me feel comfortable during the process which was much appreciated and answered all my goofy questions. If I need another MRI in the future for my condition I hope to be able to schedule here again. If it weren't for the great people in office I might knock off a few stars though due to the disaster it was to schedule my appointment. Took multiple calls and an hour maybe longer to get it scheduled due to computer issue and being transferred around. read more

Terrible Order for MRI was received by Ordering provider on 9-1-2020. I never heard from SimonMed not even attempting to call me and schedule MRI.When I called to schedule appointment there acted surprised that I never heard from them. Another thing is order was not marked by the provider if it's left or right side of the body, I was told to call and ask doctor to resend new order. I am in medical field and If we need clarification we call ordering provider we obtain pa before we schedule appointments. SimonMed will schedule appointment then try to obtain prior authorization . I think you would obtain PA and then schedule appointment. Today I am calling to make sure that PA is obtained and I am on hold so far for 48 minutes. Nothing like sitting in the waiting room for an hour and a half when you arrive on-time for the appointment. This facility needs to learn to manage their appointments better to avoid these significant inconveniences. If you need to make an appointment with the company, try to find a different site. The time you save in waiting should make up for the distance you have to drive. read more

SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE! This place does MRI's & CT scans only. I quit going to Simon Med years ago because 1) they don't have a patient portal 2) the wait was always about an hour past your scheduled appt. I have a Simon Med literally next door to me. Talk about convenient! Think again. They are so inconvenient. People who need xrays, mri's, ct scan's are usually in pain and can't sit for long. In my case this particular time, my doc insisted I go to Simon Med for my lumbar and neck mri's as he liked viewing their imaging the best. I get quite a few scans a year from other specialist for many years and never heard that one. But I humored him and said ok I will go to Simo nMed. Well now I remember why I hate going to Simon Med (all locations I have been to have issues sadly). After having to shuffle appts a couple times due to convenience they scheduled me so far away and once because they messed up and put me in the wrong place for the type of mri I needed, I was finally going to get it over with, so I thought. I can't sit, stand or walk long due to spine issues. So I get to this appointment half an hour early. After sitting an hour I asked the front desk gal how much longer, as I knew I would have to lay on that hard mri table for almost an hour (2 mri scans back to back). They said about an hour. That would have me there 3 hrs, are you kidding me! There was no way I could wait as I was already hurting after an hour. So the gal at the front desk (Asia, very nice gal) rescheduled me the day before I meet with my doc. Now mind you, now he won't have reports and only the cd's and I doubt that will sit well with him. I am mentally and physically exhausted with my health issues and Simon Med just adds to them. It's constantly like this for years back as I remember. I NEVER have this kind of a problem with EVDI or Banner Imaging, never! I am not happy and not looking forward to going back. I am going to call my doc on Monday and explain the problems I have with this place constantly and see if he is ok with me going to Banner. If you don't want headache after headach, avoid Simon Med, any of them. read more

I took the day off and arrange a few doctor appointments for that same day. I received a call a day prior to tell me my appointment was scheduled incorrectly and that location did not offer my exam with contrast. I explained how the MRI was time sensitive and how I had other appointments set around that MRI but that didn't matter to them. Unfortunately they did not have the same time available or anything near my original time. FOR YOUR SAFETY, DO NOT USE SIMON MED. THEY DID THE WRONG TEST ON ME AND INJECTED ME WITH CONTRAST PRESCRIBED FOR ANOTHER PATIENT. If I could give zero stars, I would. I was scheduled for an abdominal MRI on July 19, 2021. I went in and one person was eating at the counter and the other person seemed annoyed when I had to ask her to repeat something due to her mask. Admittedly, I was very nervous, so I decided I was probably being extra sensitive. When taken back to change, I was told the exam would take about 20 min. I was so relieved because I'm claustrophobic and was happy to hear it would be less time that I would have to be in the machine. I learned that I had to have an IV and have contrast injected into me for the test. I pushed through despite my apprehension and after what seemed like 20 min, kept waiting for them to tell me I was done. They continued with the MRI, loud banging noises, my body going hot and then cold and funny tastes in my mouth I was assuming from the contrast, making me hold my breath over and over not giving me any indication for how long. Sometimes it was hard to hold it that long...Never knowing when I would be able to take another breath or they wouldn't give me time to recover between breaths. They never were explaining anything they were doing or why it was taking so long. At one point, I even called out and asked a question hoping they could hear me and no one answered or did anything to ease my fears. I was in the machine for an hour! I started to really worry that they were finding something wrong and getting more images for the doc or something but no one let me know. Finally, someone came in. They told me I would need to come back in two days for another MRI. I was confused and started asking questions. The tech finally admitted that they needed all of the contrast out of me to be able to do the test they needed. They had done the wrong test and had injected me with the wrong contrast. I tried to ask questions about how this could happen and was told something about the person injecting me was off-site?? That they thought I was a different patient?? I was so relieved to just be out of the MRI machine and frankly just wanted to leave the building as I was crying and having a panic attack about all of this. I didn't think logically about speaking to a manager or what other questions to ask at the time. They handed me a paper with an order to come back on Monday, July 26th. I was so scared and didn't want to go back. Once I had a couple of days to process and feel better (I had headaches I'm assuming from the contrast), I called Simon med to get answers and let someone higher up know about what happened and complain. When I called, they had no record that I had EVER been there on July 19th! They could only see that I had "rescheduled" for July 26th! I asked to speak to a manager and was given the voice mail of the regional manager. (Rachel, I believe?) I left a message and never heard back. After several days, I called back two more times and spoke to different people promising to investigate and call me back. It had now been 10 day, a combined total of a few hours on hold, a lot of stress, and no one has called me back after more than a total of speaking to 3 people and leaving messages for supervisors. I will never go to Simon Med again. Its a shame. I have had mammograms with them, and used them and recommended for family, etc. But this is unforgivable to me. Shame on you, Simon Med for not taking responsibility and helping out a patient looking for answers and reassurance after YOUR mistake. read more

I will never ever have another medical imaging procedure done at this horribly inefficient facility. I was there to have a CT arthrogram and needed a shot of "contrast agent" before the CT imagine. I arrived at the address supplied by their office staff to find that the clinic which was to administer the contrast agent was at another location way at the other end of the parking lot. After driving to the other location and checking in, they kept me waiting for an hour saying that the "CT scan facility" was backed up. It turns out that this information was incorrect - the CT scanning facility was running on schedule. After receiving the contrast agent, I had to then manage to hobble to my car to be driven to their imaging center. The CT imaging took about 5 minutes. I ended up missing another hour of work due to their incompetence in communication. Furthermore, I would NEVER have gone to this facility had I known in advance that there were two separate locations for this one procedure. Outrageous. EVDI is much better. In fairness, I will say that the medical staff was pleasant and apologetic when they discovered their error. This did not, however, get my lost hour of work back. My suggestion - go somewhere else for service. read more

I feel the people office in the Chandler office are very unprofessional and not caring! You have to understand people are coming her for a service, we are paying for a service! Not only that some of us are sick, in pain, have anxiety over a lump or newly found mass, and you all treat it as if we are ordering a burger and fries! This is our life! I had to get a CT scan done on a lump found, I came in and forgot my CC, they told me I had to reschedule, I couldn't even drive and get my card! 'i have insurance, or pay the half with the cash I had! So I had to reschedule and wait 3 days later! When I got there I guess bc it was Friday no one felt like working! It took 3 days to get my results to my doctor. I will NEVER Recommend this place to anyone.Do you even care about the people you are serving? read more

Krissa did my daughters MRI and she was an absolute gem. She was so knowledgeable, helpful and kind.

It was very easy to make an appointment at this location, the guy who scheduled it was very nice & thoroughly explained the procedure. I was asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to my scheduled MRI time to fill out paperwork, which took about 10 minutes at most. While I did not go back for my MRI until 30 minutes after my scheduled time, this is no different than any other doctor that I've seen. The MRI technician talked to me via headphones through the whole procedure which made me feel much more comfortable and at ease. While I hope I never have to visit this type of facility again, if I do then this will be the location of my choice. read more

Worst experience ever. We had a STAT order and the person, Vanessa, who checks you in actually said she didn't know what that was. She said it's an hour and a half wait. Then she tried to charge me $200 for exams that is 100% covered by my insurance due to my age. When I told her that I don't have to pay for my test she refused to check me in. I called my insurance company to check the amount and my insurance stated it is 100% covered by my insurance due to age I went back in to inform her and she still refused to check me in unless I paid $200. When I asked for manager contact information she said she didn't know what it was and handed me a general business card. read more

I ASKED - should I call first to make sure it's working? NOPE -IT WILL BE. HA - jokes on me because it wasn't AND they had switched my appt to Val Vista & Williams Field without calling me!! So, I'm technically LATE for an appt I didn't even know I had. Yeah, that's not stressful. And don't get me started on the insurance fraud they tried last year with a mammogram.
