I am convinced Simon Med is involved in fraudulent billing. I started coming here a few years ago for mammograms and breast ultrasounds every 6 months. After each time I would receive a bill that would not match my EOB statement from my insurance company. I had to call each time to dispute the bill. They usually complied with my insurance company after a couple phone calls. The most recent bill they did not agree with my insurance and wanted an extra $300 over my EOB. I went on their website and paid what my insurance company told me I owed with my HSA. Simon Med is claiming to never have gotten what I paid them. My HSA has a record of the money going to Simon Med. Simon Med said I paid 'the wrong department' and cannot find the funds and threatened to send me to collections. I paid the full bill to avoid collections - so now I OVERPAID Simon Med by $300 and they refuse to refund me. My HSA won't refund me because they said it's been over 60 days. I decided to get mammograms and breast ultrasounds at a different company after the billing issue. The radiologist told me she sees no reason why Simon Med told me to come every 6 months for screening. I truly believe their billing department is fraudulent or at the very least unethical. I believe they told me to keep coming every 6 months just for the money and not because anything on my scan looked cancerous. read more

on July 16 of 2016 I wet to this facility for my son's chest XR and we have a terrible experience. We were told to check in online and arrive 15 minutes early and we did. We checked in online and in person as well and waited 1 hour plus 15 minutes to get serviced. I understand that some patients are a hard stick. I understand that some staff charged with getting a vein for an IV have no personality or even no skill. And look, I can forgive no personality; I can even forgive lack of skill to a certain point. What I cannot forgive is a person who dgaf about the person whose arm they are digging in for so long that the patient is crying. What I cannot forgive is someone who doesn't notice sobs, someone who lacks any awareness that they have been digging in my mother's arm too long with needles. Someone who ignores the crying until my momma has to ask them to "please stop" and then a few seconds later, "stop" again. They do not have ultrasound guided IV insertion support, which is greatly needed. Do not take your loved ones to this location. If you have to go to this location, I highly recommend bringing an advocate with you into the room to make sure you successfully get an IV or are paid attention to when they repeatedly fail (they tried twice). The Bottom of the Pit for your health needs. Seriously the radiologist (if they are really radiologist) have no idea what they are looking at nor do they actually read the Xray. It takes days if not a week to get a simple xray read. You have a better chance of getting a more accurate reading from Google AI - their equipment is old and don't have enough staff to do their jobs properly. I had an appointment scheduled at SimonMed (1111 S Dobson Rd) for 8:30 AM today, only to get a call at 7:00 AM from a woman named Mariam telling me that this location doesn't even perform the exam that their own office scheduled me for. Completely unacceptable. Mariam kept saying "sorry" over and over again as if that somehow fixes the issue -- but it doesn't. This kind of disorganization wastes people's time, especially when we plan our day around medical appointments. I'll be trying to speak with the supervisor, Jasmine, to see if anyone there can actually take responsibility and get this resolved, but based on this experience, I have zero confidence in their scheduling system or communication. if i could i would give zero stars. heads up everyone!! i have both traditional medicare and a plan g which picks up everything after deductible met. i went in for a ct scan and got a 50.00 bill thru email that looked like a scan. called simon med per rep it's my bill they use "ai" in testing and medicare does not pay for this. i also did not sign an abn form which means they cannot bill me. got someone over seas and i was livid this is preying on the elderly, i am a medical biller over 40 years and i cannot believe they are doing this to people. told them to send me to collections i am not paying this fradulent bill!!! especially when i was not made aware or i would have gone to banner imaging, they dont do this crap. beware people!! ask questions before an exam is done. i know i am done with simonmed forever... banner all the way as they dont do this type of thing!! read more

Would not recommend them. Had a CT scan done, and waited days to get the report done by the radiologist when it was an urgent medical issue that couldn't proceed until the the report was done. I'm not sure the point of writing a review after looking at others, but here we go: Doctor sent us here with an urgent concern. Arrived at 4:10. Stood in line for 20 minutes to get to the desk and be told they were no longer taking walk ins. The person working the desk didn't offer any more information--like hours or scheduling options. The message was very clearly, go away. I asked if there was another location we could get in at. Front desk worker took the order and insurance and suggested another location that was 20 minutes away. Given it was 4:30 by the time we got back in the car, I tried to call to see if they could get us in. Got rerouted to scheduling--the direct numbers on the referral don't get answered by the location (?). The person who answered either didn't understand or care what I was asking and offered an appointment the next day. Took insurance info. Made an appointment for 7:00 AM with a 6:45 check in the next morning. Arrived at 6:40. Door opened at 6:45. Asked to give insurance info for the 3rd time. Watched one x-ray tech walk in about 10 after 7:00. Called first x-ray patient (not us) at 7:15. Watched the other x-ray tech joke around with front desk staff before calling their first patient at 7:30. So we ended up waiting 45 minutes for a scheduled appointment--in the first appointment slot of the day. Can't imagine why they were too backed up at 4:00 to take walk ins if this is the approach in the morning. On the upside our tech was friendly and they did get the results from the stat order to the doctor by 9:00. If SimonMed had, for example, put a sign on the door that said, "no longer taking walk in x-rays, see website for wait times at other locations, or call to schedule," we may well have been able to get imaging done the same day and not delay treatment by 12+ hours. Oh and despite showing up for our appointment, I got a 'no show' call and text to reschedule. Next time, I will pay extra to go to urgent care that has imaging to avoid a return visit to SimonMed. read more

I have been to Simon Med this location in Mesa so many times over the last 20 yrs as they are literally next door to me. But sadly every experience has been negative. I try to go to Banner Imaging as much as possible but most surgeons want Simon meds technology as I guess it's easier to read??? But the countless inconveniences have me so mad. Late all the time, expecting people with spine issues to sit on those hard chairs. I'm so used to them being behind I asked the desk if they were on time and of course she yes. 45 mins later my back is killing me and I can't lay right for my hip MRI. the girl says we'll you need open MRI at another location of coarse. I told her I had MRIs recently and always come here. I am now wondering if this is what they do and inconvenience people and shoo them off too get caught up!!!! I need a stat mammogram, and they will not schedule it. Every time I need imaging it is literally an act of congress to get it scheduled. They always want to do more that the doctor orders. Who are they to take that upon themselves? The techs are really great. It's the office staff and schedulers that can't do their job. It doesn't appear that they train any of the front office help. My appointment was at 4:40 for an MRI, it is now 7:30. I have been sitting in these uncomfortable hard chairs for 3 hours, and the reason I'm here is because I have 3 herniated discs in my tailbone. I am in excruciating pain right now and I still haven't seen yet for my MRI. This is wrong, and I'm doing my best not to lash out and start talking crazy. I'm in pain, I'm hungry, and I'm tired. Also, i take Veyo, but there closed and I have to find an alternative way to get home and it's starting to storm outside. My whole experience with these people has been horrible, and now I just went in for my MRI, and I can't fit in the machine because my shoulders are to wide. You would have thought, someone who works with these machines on a daily basis would say hey buddy,byou aunt gonna fit, but no. I've been to this specific SimonMed location multiple times, and every visit has been a positive experience. I recently went in for a mammogram, and the radiology tech was absolutely amazing--so comforting, kind, and sympathetic to any fears I had. What I really appreciated was that the images were sent directly to the radiologist for review, which made the process feel thorough and seamless. Because of that, a few additional images were needed, but it actually gave me peace of mind knowing they were being extra careful. Really simple and easy. I was in and out for my brain MRI within about 45 minutes. I completed my intake forms and payment online before coming in. Once I checked in at the front desk I sat down in the waiting area and filled out the check-in form they send you over text. Was called up in about 10 minutes. My appointment was at 10:30 in the morning and I got there an hour early. My scan was done and I was out of the building before my appointment time technically started. Everyone I spoke with was nice. The MRI itself was fine, they give you earplugs because of how loud it is, and since they were just scanning my brain without contrast, I just had to lay still for about 20 minutes, and then I left. read more

I went to this location as a rescheduled appointment for a foot MRI but unfortunately, I was told it was at another Dobson location. Jasmine at the front desk was very pleasant and tried to be helpful. I had time to get to the correct location but she told me they could do it there. After completing all of the paperwork she went to the back office. As it turns out, the MRI technician had left and apparently had not informed the front desk. I asked Jasmine to please call the other Dobson location to let them know I was in route. When I arrived at the other Dobson location there was nobody there! A suggestion for the staff is to improve communication amongst themselves to prevent embarrassing situations as the one above. read more

Our first MRI experience with SimonMed went seemingly well. The technician (Michael) did a very good job. The radiologist took a little longer than expected, but found a very difficult to identify diagnosis so he likely saved us a lot of additional tests. The front desk guy was very friendly and helpful. The upfront cost was over $500 more than our insurance agreement said it would be. We received billing invoices for additional amounts after they received payments from the insurance. We have asked for a refund on the $500+ over-payment and were told it might take 30-45 more days to reach a determination on the issue even though I have all of the documents in my hand to prove they are responsible for refunding the money. A follow-up scan was requested, the appointment was scheduled, and we received a cancellation phone call the night before the test. No explanation. Just needed to call and reschedule. Once rescheduled, they took my husband back for the scan, tried and failed to start an IV, then realized that they don't even perform the test he needed. We were sent home very confused. How do you schedule a test that you don't perform, twice? So far, they are 31 days since the over-charged scan was completed and we have not seen any efforts on their part to refund the owed money back to us. She was rude and unprofessional. They've outsourced billing and medical records overseas which makes it impossible to speak to or relay information to proper PCP's and health groups.
