A friend recently recommended Jeff to me and I'm so glad I called him! I have thanked her repeatedly. He's been out a few times now. First I was having a problem with my hot water heater. He was out right away and told me what the problem was, but told me the part was too expensive to bother replacing and they can act up like that & then be fine & it was already when he got here. It's an older hot water heater too & he & the mfg. told me I didn't need to replace it yet & it hasn't done it again since. Then he came out when I had a small leak under my sink. It was an older faucet & it was the hose that was leaking. He put a bucket under it & said I should see if the mfg. would replace the hose or get a new one & he'll come back & replace it. He didn't charge me when he came out that time either & he was very reasonable when I got a new faucet & he came back & installed it. This last time there was an error message for my sump pump & he came right out to decide if it could wait or not. It froze outside & he fixed the problem, but said my sump pump was fine & I didn't need to replace it. I told him I wanted to though because it was 5-1/2 years old & I just didn't want to take a chance of it breaking in the middle of the night in a storm or he'd be on vacation. We discussed it & I went with his recommendation. As it turned out, my battery backup that was only nine months old was broken. It was from the same mfg. as the new one was putting in. I called the mfg. & he spoke with them & explained the problem & they're replacing it, but he went home & picked one up & then came back & installed it right away & they're going to send the replacement to him. Jeff responds so quickly & is so knowledgeable & efficient, he just makes me feel safe knowing that I have him for my plumber now. It's not like calling a company on the other end of the phone either. His wife, Annie, takes all of the calls. She asks what's wrong & discusses it with him & we go from there. If it's important, I know he'll take care of it immediately & if it's not, he knows I'm very flexible too. I don't feel like I just found a plumber, I feel like I have literally have new friends. He's training his two sons too, & they're all very nice, just a really nice family! read more

I found Jeff after seeing the Yelp reviews as well as reviews on another home improvement website. On the other website, you have to page through all those companies with the coupons and dozens of reviews. Many of those companies have multiple trucks with the fancy graphics and a lot of plumbers on the roster. Why am I belaboring this point? Well, I have found out way too late in the game that those companies are big on the upsell. I had a problem with a leaking dishwasher discharge hose. I could see the area where the hose was leaking was clamped with two hose clamps. The previous owner cobbled together this connection to feed into the main drain. I had my previous plumbing company come out for a different problem and asked the guy to look at this leak. He took a look, then came back upstairs and looked under the kitchen sink and then the dishwasher hookup. He said that the installation was screwed up and that they would have to totally redo all of the sink and dishwasher piping. I asked what that might run. He said $2000, maybe more. What?? I asked him if he couldn't just replace the section of hose that connects to the drain. "Oh no, I cant do that. I'll lose my license." I had a sinking feeling in my stomach. After getting the upsell once again, I decided to look for a different plumber. My criteria were 1) an independent plumber who owns his own business and 2) a local guy to try to keep the money in the community. I called Simple Simon and couldn't be more satisfied with his work and ability to solve my problem. He looked at it and after shaking his head at the shlock job the previous owner did with the installation, said he could fix it. He just needed to get two sizes of PVC pipe to build a fitting. He said to give him a few days to get the parts and the PVC, and manufacture the fitting. He came a few days later and installed the new fitting and it is leak free. It took a little over an hour and cost me a fraction of what the previous plumbing company quoted. I appreciate him looking at this problem in an innovative way that DIDN'T require ripping out my existing sink drain. I learned a valuable lesson regarding hiring tradesman. An independent guy that has been in business for years relies on word-of-mouth and repeat business to stay in business. Sure, they might not have dozens of reviews but they are less likely to take you to the cleaners. I'm glad I found Jeff and Simple Simon and will continue to use him for plumbing service. His experience will get the job done right and save you money. read more

I called for service and found myself talking to someone who did not seem organized or willing to work with my schedule. After coming to an agreement, Mr. Simon looked at the problem I was having at my house. I had a hard time leaving him to do the job because he talked on and on -- even when I walked away. If I could, I would give this company 10 stars! We were having plumbing issues in our basement and made the mistake of calling Titan Plumbing first. After spending $670 with Titan and not getting the problem fixed, a co-worker referred Simple Simon to us. I spoke with Jeff's wife Annie on Monday, March 22 and she was beyond nice and friendly! She took down all my information and had her husband return my call later in the day. He spent 90 minutes on the phone with my husband Monday evening problem solving the issue. I would also like to mention the fact that Titan Plumbing told us we would need to rip up our tile bathroom floor in order to repair the clog, which was going to cost between $2,000-$3,800, depending on whether we did the floor demo ourselves or had them do it. Jeff came to our house on Wednesday and was able to clear the clog in an hour without destroying the floor! The total cost: $350! He saved us thousands of dollars and time! Thank you so much Jeff! Jeff is very experienced. His work is top notch. He has seen thousands of situations and comes up with quick innovative solutions. Comes with all the tools and parts required for the job. No running to Menards to buy parts. I gave him 3 toilets to fix. One leaking at the base. He installed a thick plastic foam ring instead of a regular wax ring because the found the floor was higher than toilet connection. I did not know they made a plastic foam ring!! Only someone with experience will know this. Second toilet. The second toilet would constantly leak water into the toilet bowl. He found 2 issues. The handle component was hitting the internal components and the chain was getting tangled He found a way to stop the handle component from hitting the internasl and installed a nontangle chain.The third toilet started making wired loud noises when filling. that would wake up everyone in the house. Jeff pop the filling assembly and removed a silencer nozzle that was collapsing due to chlorine attack.Now it fills twice as fast with no sound. Good luck with using someone else. read more

Highly recommended. I could not have had a more pleasant experience. I had three issues: a backed up tub, disposal and leaky faucet. Simon was able to fix _everything_ in under an hour while being extremely pleasant and explaining what was wrong as well as providing advice on avoiding future issues.
